• David (10/5): An ideal motel! - Super, newly renovated room, sparkling clean, efficiently equipped kitchen, good induction hobs. Views to die for out over both the sea and the harbour. Quiet, peaceful location ten minutes and a hill into the town centre.

We honestly hadn’t done much research into where we were staying and to say we were pleasantly surprised is an understatement! Michelle who welcomed us could not have been nicer, the type of person who makes you feel so so comfortable and at home immediately she is an absolute gem. From the gorgeous hot tub and extremely soft towels to the beautiful view and squeaky clean unit I would 100% stay here again. Again we want to thank Michelle she couldn’t have been nicer. Definitely recommend x Nothing it was great!

Only thing would be the matt in the lounge area I do stretches days for my back an when I sat down it was very hairy n itchy I instantly tock my clothes off as it was like prickles in my clothes everything else was fine. I would say plastic Tupperware would be recommend

Our room was lovely, clean and had the most amazing view of the sea everything from start to finish was excellent. Thank you Michelle we loved it so much we didn't want to leave and ended up re-booking and staying an extra night. Michelle was so accommodating letting us keep our room we really appreciated it and we ill definitely be back!!!

• Daniella (9/5): Do it you won’t be sad. - So so clean. Wonderful host. Great location. We stayed here with our two kids aged 8 and 10. The owner was sooo lovely. She even put our washing up away #shame. Would defo come back thank you.

• Okkers (10/5): Fantastically placed with a beautiful view of the harbour entrance. - Firstly, this place was newly renovated and very clean. Our unit has a jacuzzi on the balcony and was fantastic, even through the colder nights. The TV was already signed in to Netflix, Disney +, TVNZ etc., so we didn't have to worry about entering our logins. This town is also very save where everyone lookout for each other, even if your a visitor. Nothing much. The only thing was there was a balcony light we couldn't switch off, but further to this we couldn't see anything wrong with the place, service and hospitality.

The rooms are very spacious and modern and everything is new and clean! Parking is nearby! Sunrise is very nice! The jacuzzi is the best! And our host Michelle was so sweet - she brought us the most delicious date loaf I've ever had to apologize for some minor excavator noise going on in the morning for a couple of hours. The weather! We would have loved to enjoy the views the terrace and the deck chairs thoroughly but unfortunately a storm pummeled Ranui Lodge for one whole night and the following day - well, that's the way it is and nothing to be done about it...

Offered to take us grocery shopping , even brought us homemade cookies to make sure we were comfortable. That is truly what you want from a host . Our wellbeing was her major concern. The best experience we could have had under the circumstances. Kudos

Like many motels this one suffers a bit from it's age, carpets and some fittings definitely in need of updating and they're having trouble with their Wi-fi (a nuisance since the only TV is via the wi-fi)

• Tara (10/5): Fabulous view and a treat to stay in. - My husband and eight year old daughter stayed here while visiting family in the area, and we absolutely loved it. The motel is clean and comfortable, thoughtfully stocked, and the view! The view is stunning, and cannot be beat. It is conveniently located to shops and restaurants within walking distance (although uphill on the way back, heads up for those less mobile), and has everything you might need in the rooms, great value.
