• Van Der Wel (9/5): Adembenemend uitzicht vanaf je appartement - De eigenaar is echt super aardig en neemt de tijd om alles uit te leggen. Geeft ook tips over wijnhuizen en restaurants. Het uitzicht van de appartementen zijn adembenemend. Bovenin de Toscaanse heuvels. De reis van Greve naar boven. haha. Enige stuurmanskunst is wel vereist. En om dan toch wat te klagen...prijs/kwaliteit verhouding vonden wij niet goed.

• Paulo (1/5): Never again ! Property in particular the owner is not recommendable! Very rude person! - 1 mal haben wir genommen. Es ging so! alles ohne viel mühe aufgestellt! Wir haben für Juli 2025 eine Woche in dieser Unterkunft gebucht, angezogen von den Bildern auf booking.com. Die Unterkunft liegt sehr abgelegen in den Bergen – die Aussicht ist zwar schön –, aber die Erreichbarkeit ist eine echte Herausforderung: Die Straßen sind extrem schmal, voller Kurven, teils unbefestigt mit vielen Schlaglöchern und sehr steil. Für ein Allradfahrzeug ist das vielleicht noch machbar, aber mit einem normalen Auto kaum zu schaffen. Immerhin hat es nicht geregnet! Bei der Ankunft wurden wir vom Eigentümer in eine einfache Hütte etwa 100 Meter bergauf geschickt – außerhalb des eigentlichen Grundstücks. Diese Unterkunft lag also weder beim Pool noch bei den Entspannungs- oder Grillbereichen. Wir haben ihm gesagt, dass das nicht dem entspricht, was wir gebucht hatten (von dieser primitiven Hütte gab es auch keine Fotos auf der Internetseite), aber er bestand darauf und meinte, er sei überbucht. Die Hütte selbst liegt komplett am Rand des Geländes, im buschigen Wald am Hang. Unser gesamtes Gepäck mussten wir selbst hochtragen. Da wir nach der Anreise völlig erschöpft waren, haben wir uns notgedrungen darauf eingelassen und angekündigt, dass wir unseren Aufenthalt verkürzen werden. Daraufhin meinte der Eigentümer nur, dass es keine Rückerstattung geben wird. Gastfreundlich war er ohnehin nicht, eher ruppig und unfreundlich. Zwei Tage später parkte ich – wie am ersten Tag angewiesen – mein Auto in einer sehr engen Parkbucht auf dem Grundstück, aus der man beim Aussteigen kaum herauskommt. Der Eigentümer kam daraufhin und schrie mich an, ich solle dort nicht mehr parken, sondern das Auto wieder ganz oben neben der Hütte abstellen – was mit einem normalen Wagen kaum möglich ist. Ich weigerte mich und er reagierte sehr aggressiv, beschimpfte mich, machte obszöne Gesten und forderte uns auf, abzureisen. Meine Frau und ich waren entsetzt – so etwas haben wir noch nie erlebt. Wir wollten einfach nur einen entspannten Urlaub verbringen, sagten nichts mehr !

• Anton (6/5): B&B repair and maintenance needed - The views are amazing and the nature around B&B is very nice. The pool area is good! General maintenance/renovation across the B&B facilities is required. Half of the entrance gate door is broken. The glass in the window in the living room needs to be replaced as instead of a nice view one gets to see a dirty window. There are old plastic chairs and tables in the outside areas and inside the apartment the furniture (like sofa and table) needs to be replaced. The gym facilities are broken (bicycle) or old and require maintenance.

• Stephen (9/5): A unique experience in a truly beautiful setting. - The location was excellent. Quiet with beautiful views of the countryside. Just a couple minutes drive to Greve in Chianti. The building -- an old monastery -- had great historic character and charm. In our room, above the bathroom door, the word "Archivium" (Archive) was carved in stone. The road to the property was narrow but we encountered only one car in our trips up and down the road. The room didn't have basic kitchen staples, so bring your own coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, butter, etc.

• Fred (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay at Rifugium was great. From the beautiful road letting up the mountain to the amazing views over the valley and the calm and peaceful premises. We stayed at a cottage called Fortino which was truly a refuge – all by ourselves with nature around the corner. The host Daniele was very friendly and helpful. We would 10/10 recommend to anyone that's seeking a get away off the beaten track.

The host Daniele has been very welcoming and made sure we had a great stay by providing us a full breakfast in the morning and giving us recommendations on things to do! Perfect spot if you want to be far from the city caos.

• Ondrej (9/5): Superb - This is a great place when you finally get there :-). It is a quiet place located in a nice garden with magnificent view over the countryside. We stayed in a beautifully renovated apartment in an old stone house. The place is accessible by not very good gravel road which in not clearly posted on several places. Wi-Fi signal is weak or not available on many places.
• Kerrie (7/5): Lovely end to our trip. - The pool overlooking the valley is spectacular. The view cannot be beat. The small towns and restaurants nearby are wonderful. Astor the dog is great. there is no reception area so you need to track down Danielle and he could be mowing or working in a garden when you arrive. The drive up the mountain is a little hairy. But we learned a lot of great places in Italy involve a tricky road trip to get there. The hot tub had no water in it. The showers did not drain properly. The rooms were certainly old world charm. Lots of uneven steps inside and out, as is the case with much of Italy. This place is built on a hillside so not great for those with mobility issues.

• Karel (10/5): Hidden gem for a relaxing holiday - - Wonderful view over the Chianti area - Daniele is a very helpful and kind owner (and his dog is lovely) - The facilities are just great (infinity pool, sunbeds, ping pong table, giant chess field, table soccer, jacuzzi, …) - Very nice place to get away from the busy city life and relax surrounded by beautiful nature - Very clean and spacious rooms - Only thing I can think of is the last 500 meters to the property that are a bit challenging with a car (unpaved road)
