Rust in the bathroom shower and on the heater, exposed screws on the wall finishings, an exposed electrical box, etc.... All in all, no deal breakers but when you pay top dollar you should get an impeccable room

- Darren (10/5): - My family loves this property. We go for Labor Day every single year and request the same room. We love the beach set up and the pool. It is close to Montauk and convenient to just about every where. 5 star, highly recommend it.

- Andrea (8/5): - The only complaint I would have is that we could hear the people above us waking around, moving some furniture and opening and closing the sliding door. The chairs have felt pads but coffee table does not We expressed our concerns about the door and it was addressed immediately. The next morning was much much better but we could still hear walking around and any time the coffee table was moved. I would suggest an upper level floor to avoid this.

- Melanie (8/5): September 2021 visit - Check in very easy. Keys left in key box for after hour check in. Lots of text communication which streamlined housekeeping and beach paraphernalia needs. Pull out sofa bed extremely uncomfortable for my teenage kids. Bedroom mattress was fine. Bedroom could have used a TV. Hotel is basically on the beach, which is a plus for me. The rooms were clean and the A/C was fine. I would stay again on my next visit. I like staying in Amagansett as Montauk is just a 10 minute drive East to do water activities and fishing. The company who manages this property, manages other properties in the Hamptons which would be worth considering also.

Nice 2 bedroom apartment was well equipped and with ocean view. Received an app every night asking what we needed the next morning. There was a second app every day about reserving beach chairs, umbrellas and towels ... loved that idea! Highly recommend Ocean Colony!

- Lexie (10/5): Cute little Oceanside condo - This property was such a pleasant surprise! The photos on the site are obviously very old, but the rooms were cute and updated. Check in and signing up for amenities were very smooth. We had tons of space in our 1 bedroom. Loved the full kitchen and balcony. Super happy with our stay!

- Verified traveler (8/5): - My unit was absolutely awesome. Two floors with a loft, balcony, two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, the whole nine. It was quiet and peaceful (which was the point of my stay) it was lovely looking at the beach all day. Not sure if it was because it was unusually windy the first couple of days, but there was a terrible draft coming from the sliding doors. The first night wasn’t very pleasant because no matter how much I pumped up the heat, it was freezing in the unit. It wasn’t until the next day that I found it was a crazy draft coming from the sliding doors that I had to stick paper towels into to cover it up lol. After that, it was perfect temperature in the unit and everything else was easy going.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We liked the proximity to the beach, the responsive to requests for supplies for the unit, the remote check-in was easy (however they promised, yet failed to text me when the unit was ready for check-in), the beds were comfortable, had sufficient, kitchen supplies (plates, glasses, pots and pans), and plentiful hot water. We found the accommodations dated and spartan. The furnishings were minimal (e.g. no decoration of any kind on walls, one couch, and two hard chairs in living room), the patio had two chairs with one in need of repair and no umbrella for table, and the soundproofing between the two units was inadequate. The bedroom closets had not doors or coverings.

We stayed in 1714 right next to the beach path and it was even cuter than it looked in the pics on their website. Just beware, when you select the room on hotels.com, you may not get the one you chose - the one shown here was not what we selected, but we contacted the resort directly and they assigned us 1714 - loved it!

- William (8/5): Perfect if you need to be right on the beach. - Right on the beach. You can reserve beach chairs and umbrellas every day. Quiet, good bedding, good privacy. Try to get a room on the top floor. Downstairs, you can hear footsteps from above. Not a major issue, but just pointing it out. In sum, the cost of the room per night is VERY high. But if you want to be on the beach, that's what it takes. Long Island hotels are ridiculously expensive in the summer. I guess that's how you keep out working class people.

- Tracey (6/5): - The place is in a good location but fair to say they are not managing covid experience. Remote check in fine. No cleaning service - and that was not made clear on check in. Room was ok although ceiling fan dangerously low and very noisy air conditioning. While there are chairs and umbrellas on the beach getting assistance form the people on the beach was not exactly easy. They seemed happier on their i phones!
- Christensen (6/5): amazing beach, bad apartments - The apartments are not updated, the one bedroom apartment the room is very very small, uncomfortable small. The furniture is all. The location at the beach is very good, beach is amazing ! Basically you are paying for the location at the beach.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Weekend Getaway 2020 - We had a great time staying at Ocean Colony, room was well sanitized and the property was well managed during the pandemic with workers using masks and spraying down beach chairs to disinfect between uses and plenty of clean towels, it was a very relaxing getaway.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great family getaway from NYC - Comfortable, clean and great access to beach and small towns, state parks etc. Front desk was hard to reach and they didn't make it clear what's happening with COVID-19, so we didn't know that pool side wasn't open and also no turn down service was available. Facility was great though!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointing - "ocean view" is misleading - I booked an ocean view apartment, but it turned out that there was only a sliver of an ocean view. The apartment was right behind a couple of dunes which blocked the ocean view. The description is very very misleading and should be changed. If I had known, I would have just booked a dunes view apartment which was cheaper. In terms of communication, I called the front desk 7 times while I was there, and only managed to speak to someone once. Was sent to voice mail all other times.
