- robert (10/5): Do it - Outstanding location to downtown, old St Augustine. Treated to a very unique (+pricey) mattress. Absolutely ideal
- Valentina (10/5): - I absolutely loved the space. It was a great price for a memorable experience. The owners waited for us and were super kind and hospitable. It was a big and spacious and I genuinely loved the decor and bathroom. Very St. Augustine- I couldn't have imagined a better stay.
- Christopher P (10/5): Wonderful Stay! - We loved this place. Very spacious, bed was super comfortable. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony after the sun went down. Owners were very friendly, gave us a quick tour of the place and recommended we try The Prohibition Restaurant which we did and it was great also. Quick walk to the historic district. Would definitely stay here again
- C (10/5): - Very unique lodge in an incredible location. Owners were very friendly, I highly recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I can't say enough good things about this property and the owners. The location is perfect. About a 5 minute walk to the Historic Town and the Fort. The room was very welcoming. It had great character and the bed...ah man, the bed was the most comfortable bed I've slept in. The owners are wonderful people. They welcomed us like old friends and we got to hear their awesome history. We will definitely be back, without a doubt. So happy we found this place and these people.

- Virginia (10/5): Wonderful Stay at the Loft - The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was very large and really unique, the bed was incredible, the location perfect and the entire experience was most was awesome!! Don't judge the place by anything until you meet the owners and get into the room!
- Todd (10/5): Highly recommended stay - Great place to stay, friendly and helpful owners. Would go back.
- Holly (10/5): - Michael and Kim were great hosts. The location is exceptional. Just a 5 minute walk to downtown St. Augustine. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious. This is our second time staying here and we will definitely be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The ambiance was excellent. Rooms were huge. Balcony was fun. Staff personally showed us around and explained everything perfectly.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The cost of the room was inconsistent with the quality of the room.
- Robyn (8/5): Great loft - Great place to stay. Very old loft but very cool. Location couldn't be better. Not a lot of amenities but it was worth it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location; the attentiveness of the owners;we were made to feel truly welcome and any questions were answered quickly;just the overall feeling of pride in their place made a hauge impression.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Definitely not like the pictures! Would not recommend or stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Huge suite, nicely decorated, good mattress and bed linens, balcony, very nice people
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The whole experience was magical. The owners are a lovely and genuine couple who made us feel at home immediately. We can’t wait to visit again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property is unique and the location is excellent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location for access to the historic areas of St. Augustine. Only a few minute walk to the on-off trolley stop, less than 5 minute walk to the Old City Gates. The rooms are eclectic, spacious and CLEAN. The owners are great and very accommodating.
- Darla Miller (10/5): - We were extremely happy with the room. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly.
- TABER (10/5): - Very comfortable and unique place to stay. Fantastic location and the owners were welcoming!
- Jennifer (10/5): A gem of a find - It was so awesome.. place was great. Spacious comfortable, and close to all the action!!! Micheal and Kim the owners were welcoming and helpful. Can’t wait to stay again
- Dan (10/5): - Kinda querky in that best we could tell it's just a two room Inn, but the loft unit is very spacious and the hosts couldn't have made our stay anymore comfortable. Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Beautiful room, very spacious but extremely hard to find as it’s a room in someone’s house, not a large hotel.
Sketchy parking but very good location downtown. Beautiful architecture as it was built in 1800s.
- Kharmon (10/5): - The Loft is such a lovely place, lots of history and the owners were extra sweet!! Perfect location, within walking distance from all the downtown life. We stay in the area quite often and we will definitely book the Loft again for our next stay.
- Liliana (2/5): - I did not like the hotel because they did not allow children in the hotel
Is not fear
- DavidBristow (10/5): - It was a great experience. Very accommodating and centrally located in downtown St. Augustine. Most everything is within walking distance. We had the whole top floor of the building(the Loft) to ourselves. With two private entrances. Once we checked in we weren’t bother by the owners. But they seemed to be very knowledgeable of their building history. As well as St. Augustine’s history. Highly recommend!!!
- Steve (4/5): Disappointing accomodations - The folks who own this apparently two-room "hotel" were very nice but I think took liberties with the descriptions (e.g., "terrace" and "concierge service" and "complimentary self-parking" and "premium linens"). This place was like your first apartment in college, furnished with mismatched second-hand furniture on plywood floors. The bathroom in our unit was so tiny that it didn't have a door. The "original claw-foot tub" was cute until you tried to shower in it and the plumbing was marginal.
The steep stairs and no-grab-bar tub make this a poor choice for seniors or folks with mobility problems.
- Jessi (8/5): - Perfect location!
- Mimi (10/5): Innkeepers are fabulous & proud of their property. - Innkeepers were very proud of their inn, it was unique & in a terrific location. Walk away from historic St. Augustine. Very accommodating & comfortable bed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Was an overall nice trip. The proprietors were very nice and welcoming. The loft was very spacious, unlike most hotel rooms we've stayed in on a weekend trip. Only criticism would be the lack of fresh towels on our 2 night stay. We were suspicious the towels in the room didn't seem fresh, and were put off by the sign in the bathroom asking guest to reuse their towels if possible. I don't disagree with reusing towels, but for the length of our short stay, we felt fresh towels daily should have been dropped off regardless. Housekeeping had come into the room while we were out, and made the bed, and replaced the used K-cups, but did not replace the towels. The sign in the bathroom did say if you would like a towel replaced, please leave on the floor. But for over $200.00 a night, We felt we shouldn't have to request new tools, or be expected to reuse them. I would still recommend the Loft, but you will want to take your own amenities....soaps, shampoo's, etc.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great choice close to St. George Street - This was a great choice for us on a 36 hour mini vacation! Super close to St. George Street and the restaurants and attractions. The owners were awesome and made sure there was a parking spot right out front for us when we arrived even though parking can be a beast in St. Augustine! Super comfy bed! We were in and out dropping stuff off and changing throughout the day because it was so close. Very convenient all around. We'll certainly book here again if we have the chance!
- LouAnn (10/5): - Excellent location just outside city gates, really nice owner/operators! Would highly recommend it.
- Debra (8/5): Great Stay - Great stay. Friendly owners, neat spacious room. Within easy walking distance to the Old City.
- Eric (10/5): - The hotel is in the perfect location with amazing hosts. You can tell they really take pride in the building. It’s a beautiful building with a ton of personality. We loved sitting on the balcony in the evening watching people and cars go by. Will be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect location. Wonderful friendly owners. Had such a great time. Very clean hotel with free parking. Walked to historic downtown to shops awesome food and pubs.
- Daniel (10/5): Best hotel in st Augustine - This hands down best place to stay in st Augustine best location by far 1000 SQ ft
Park car 10 minutes walk your on st George
- Verified traveler (8/5): 2 thumbs up - Nice owners. Comfortable room, very close to everything. Great experience.
- Alayna (10/5): Awesome place, super close to historic area - This place was awesome, super clean, great room. He husband and wife that owned this place was very attentive and ready for us right when we arrived. The loft is right down the street from the fort and the historic area of St Augustine. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Amazing!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great location - Perfect place ..great service and will be returning..very helpful ..made our anniversary one to remember..thank you!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wonderful location - you can see the city gates, Ripleys Museum, and the Visitor Center right from the balcony! Very informative and helpful owners. Room was clean and worked well for our family (2 and a baby). Bed creaked a little, but we've had much worse at hotels. Overall, very pleased and highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Most comfortable bed ever! - We booked this last minute and the owner was kind enough to stay past the typical check in time to accommodate our late arrival. The bed was one of the most comfortable ones I’ve slept on. Great location as well. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting St Augustine.
- PJ (10/5): Wonderful!! - Hospitality at its finest, wonderful hosts. The room is spacious and very clean, a nice comfortable bed and the location is close to everything, we will be back
- Verified traveler (10/5): What a find right in the heart of St. Augustine! - We loved our stay in the upstairs loft. The owners are fantastic and welcoming. I’ll stay here every time I make a trip to St. Augustine. The beach is about a 5 minute drive and you’re a 5 minute walk from the fort and all that is around it! I highly recommend!!!
- John (4/5): Disappointing. - Based on the Expedia rating and review, my wife and I were expecting a room in St. Augustine worth much more than we paid. Supposedly we were saving 62% per night.. Granted it was close to the historic district of the town but it is hard to believe that this was an actual savings. It was best described as a B&B without the second B on a busy street. As the proprietor himself described, "it was a converted storefront with Salvation Army furniture". Needless to say this was extremely disappointing. The floor of the room was "industrial" with screws sticking out (see attached picture) which we were careful to avoid. We have also included pictures of other interesting aspects of the room. One review which was recorded earlier in February referred to rats being in the room. At the time, we discounted this as unbelievable and inconsistent. Although we did not encounter any rats, this was not out of the question as I have later realized. I do not fault the owner. What I actually paid was not unreasonable once I knew what I was getting but I was expecting much more for the money. I am now concerned about the due diligence exercised by Expedia. I usually choose name brands through Expedia, however, I chose this room because of the Expedia write-up which was almost too good to believe. It turned out that it was. I am no longer certain that I can rely on Expedia recommendations. Please let me know how Expedia plans to tighten its due diligence in the future.
- Olivia (10/5): The Perfect Couple Getaway - The owners are so lovely, and the room was absolutely fantastic! (It’s very clean as well!) This place is for those who want unique accommodations. It has that boutique hotel vibe. And it’s right in the middle of all the action - everything is within walking distance! Next door is a lovely wine bar and restaurant - which is not the typical noisy St Augustine bar - the patrons are quite refined and quiet surprisingly. We cannot say enough nice things about the Loft! It exceeded our expectations!
- Verified traveler (4/5): This place has rats! - Rats scurrying about at night! Left as soon as we heard them!
- Tracy (10/5): Lovely and close! - Very friendly staff, adorable room, artfully decorated, super comfortable bed, 8 minute walk to St. George Street. You really can't beat it! Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Christmas in St. Augustine - It was a great location, right next door to the trolley which takes you all around the city of St. Augustine. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the Christmas lights come up.
they only left us enough of the drip coffee for one morning. We commented that there should be coffee for every day. I think the owners will accommodate.
- Telina (10/5): Will stay again - Nice change from hotel rooms. Great service and attention given to us. Very close to everything. So glad I saw this on Expedia and decided to try it out 😀
- David (8/5): - Amazing! Michael and Kim are outstanding hosts! We will come back! Just love it there!
- David (8/5): - Amazing! Thank you Michael and Kim!
- marcelino (6/5): - Customer service was very good , location was great , but was really hard to sleep. It was very windy and being that it’s so old you could hear everything. People talking outside , cars driving by. I don’t think I would stay there again.
- Aaron (8/5): Great Stay - Beautiful location, loved the history of the building. Kim and Michael gave a brief tour, well worth the few minutes. Main road outside the room was loud all night but wouldn’t be a deal breaker if we wanted to stay in the area again.
- Lucky (10/5): Comfortable, Cozy and Perfect Location! - We Enjoyed the whole experience, from being personally greeted by the owners with great stories and information to being able to park car right by room and simply walk everywhere....
The room was very comfortable and has a Great bed, along with other cool furniture and
warm friendly decor.
The only small glitch we had was the pedistal style sink didn't offer anyplace to put
toiletry/grooming bags while in use.... a small table next to the basin would alleviate
that problem and I'm betting the owners will resolve the issue before You read this!
Overall, highly recommended!
- alexis (10/5): - Great room in a prime location. Owners are very sweet. Would stay again!
- Frank (10/5): Greatest Host! - Michael and his wife are tremendous people. The location is Great and everything is within walking distance. Support local businesses and stay with this fabulous couple at their Hotel. They will make you feel like you’re family.😊
- Beatriz (10/5): - The loft was amazing and in great location.
- Lisa (10/5): Unique hotel with a retro feel - I am so glad I found this place! It's very unique and nothing at all like a chain hotel. The owners are super sweet and gave my boyfriend and I a tour of the building, including some of it's history. Since it was built in the 1800's, it has a very retro feel but the space is huge and cannot be compared to any other hotel room (they have a claw tub!) There is a balcony on the second floor which is perfect for enjoying a beverage. The building is located on a main street so you will hear traffic but it's manageable. I have super positive vibes from this place and have every intention of staying here again.
- jessica (10/5): Something different - The upstairs loft is huge! Plenty of space, great views and people watching from the balcony, and just a block from the Fort. Everything is very clean, hot shower and a super comfortable bed. There is a mini fridge, microwave and keruig. Within walking distance to anything you’d like to do in St. Augustine. The owners are great and the building has character and history (built in 1885!) I won’t stay at another chain hotel in st Augustine again, I’ll be booking here!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Owners were friendly and helpful, explaining the history of the building.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very good experience and would recommend to others
- Kevin (10/5): Perfect spot - Everything was perfect, the location was within walking distance to just about everything. Staff was friendly as well
- Tracy (10/5): LOVED the Loft! - We had an amazing stay at the Loft. The room was clean and very spacious! The location was amazing. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. The bed was super comfortable and the owners were amazing. Very nice and helpful and have a historic tie to the community.
- Dario (10/5): Diamond in the Rough - Stayed here for wife's bday and found a jem! The stay was great and Michael and his wife greeted us as if we were family. Great hospitality and will only stay here whenever we come to St Augustine.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location, nice hosts, like a BnB - This was more like a BnB than a hotel. There were only a few rooms, and the owners lived on premises. The location is pretty amazing. We booked on very short notice, so the hosts had not seen the reservation come in, and were surprised to see us. Once we got in, and got the AC running, it was fine.
The hosts were very nice.
We were walking distance from the Old Town and Fort. I wish we'd had the time to stay for another night, and we would not have hesitated to stay another night here.
- Enea (10/5): Amazing! - Amazing location and great experience! I would recommend this place to everyone. It's well worth it and walking distance to the city's best attractions.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Historic Meets Eclectic - I highly recommend this eclectic gem while visiting St. Augustine! Comfortable bed, nicely decorated and clean. The owners are extremely cool people and very accommodating! Two minor things that were not a big deal to me, but could be for other visitors: 1) With this being a historical building there are some areas that probably needed repair that were just painted for aesthetics 2) The trolley tour PA systems are loud when driving by this close to the street and it happens frequently during the day. I don't want to dwell on those things though because the private balcony and location to downtown more than make up for it. I would not even consider staying anywhere else on my next trip to St. Augustine.
- Katie (10/5): Reasonably-priced charmer in downtown - This establishment is owned by a lovely couple who greet you and give you a brief tour upon your arrival. The room itself (we stayed in the upstairs loft) is quite spacious and has remnants of the original Victorian charm while still providing modern amenities. It is conveniently located next door to the Ripley's museum and just minutes from the attractions of downtown St. Augustine. We will certainly be returning.
- Damian (10/5): Another great stay! - The Loft was great as usual ... second stay. Close enough to walk to everything in St. Augustine Old Town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): really unique and comfortable - amazing loved the room and the owners, felt like I was at home
- Jillian (10/5): Location location location - Excellent location. Close to the action but away from the noise. Wonderful service & welcome. Amazing price for the space.
