Guest Reviews
- Mrb0b421 (8/5): Lovely stay 👍🏻 - Eco inn cottages , we’ve just returned from the cottages, we only stayed 3 days as island hopping, only recently built they were very clean and tidy with everything you need,in a good location 10 mins to beach and right in the middle of restaurants and shops, lovely swimming pool .just further enough of the road to be quite , would recommend.
- Syafi (10/5): - Very comfortable bed and pillow. Big room and clean. Near to Halal restaurants.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Property was fine, but a/c was not working. Staff said that they were updating their fire alarms, so therefore my a/c was not working during my 2 day stay. Not sure what to think about that. Other than that, it was clean and met my expectations for the price I paid.
- Kenny (10/5): - Friendly staff and great breakfast. Close too beach and shopping
- Verified traveler (8/5): - pleasant place but the water heater not functioning. Important to ensure all the electrical items function properly
- Jay (10/5): - Everything was good with the price charge for the stay.
- Mahesh_Ail (8/5): Budget hotel - Initially when I booked this hotel I was concerned about distance from the beach. However it’s only a short walk (10 min) to the beach and other attractions. The tour information desk was very helpful, I booked all my tours and local transfer including my trip to Koh phanang full moon party through same travel desk and got very good deals. The hotel does not have breakfast but they serve complimentary bread butter and jam, pancakes and tea/coffee for all the guest. Hotel from site looks modern very furnished but interior needs some repairs (specially bathroom) The passage was little dimly lighted not sure why and never bothered to ask the reason. Overall a good and comfortable stay and will definitely stay again and recommend to other travelers.
ps. Aonang Eco inn is basic budget hotel so do not set high luxury expectation (I read some reviews). You get what you pay for. 👍
- raraexandra (10/5): - -great location
-nice room, their room quite bigger
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Suitable for both backpacker and family traveling by parking and motorcycle for rent. Clean room and good service mind were appreciated.
- austin c (10/5): - Akward bathtub, but other than that, it is an excellent hotel for this price
- ChicInTheCity (2/5): Checked into the hotel and checkd-out - The room was dingy, nothing felt clean. The balcony overlooked a messed plot with no furniture. The bathroom had mold! Spent 30 minutes in the room while my traveling partner walked down the street and found a much more comfortable place. The staff was friendly, but the place was unclean and uncomfortable. Low cost to rent a room, but not worth it.
- v1shaal (10/5): Good budget option for Ao Nang! - Great price for the rooms. Had a twin room, it was clean and air conditioned. Water bottles stocked in the room with each room service for free. Fridge, AC, clean shower and balcony overlooking the street. Comfortable beds and overall a good stay. Very occasionally we were woken by the call to pray from the mosque down the street, but overall we had good sleeps here.
Good location (tops 15 mins walk to the beach) and very close to some great restaurants. Would recommend 11/1 Thai which is 5 mins walk round the corner.
Would stay here again!
- ssvca76 (10/5): A lovely small, cozy hotel with very warm hospitality by staff - We stayed in this hotel ( Aonang Eco Inn, Krabi, Thailand) in November,18 and were very impressed with the hospitality and soft skills of the staff members. Although we are Indians and language challenge was there still all staff managed to understand our needs and were proactive to help.
We came quite late in mid night and were afraid that whether hotel will be open or closed but when we came there was a guard who opened the hotel gate and gave us keys of our family room. It was clean, spacious and had all facilities like Ac, Small fridge, SDB, toiletries etc. Next day we asked for Any breakfast option as our room booking was shielding that it is not including any breakfast but the lady at front office told that hotel provides a basic breakfast on complimentary basis. It was a pleasant surprise and breakfast quality and options were good and fresh. They also provides scooter on rent which is a good plus. Hotel is near market and plenty of food options, massage centres and other facilities are available nearby. It’s a very safe and good hotel with all amenities, facilities which is never expected from a budget hotel. All staff are very good and will help you for any basic need and any information of city or travel guides. Special mention is of a May, Bui and Choh...
I will recommend this hotel to any family with kids, Vegetarians, Late night Checkers, bike lovers etc.
Very good hotel at a very reasonable price on a very good location...Go for it..👍👍
Personale cordiale e disponibile, abbastanza english speaking.
- Ilya Shuhada (10/5): Worth the price! - I have a pleasant stay for 2nights. The room is spacious and clean. Not too far from aonang beach. Around 15mins walk. Nearby shop lot and plenty of halal restaurants.
- GoutamKS (6/5): Not up to the mark - I booked for deluxe king size bedroom, but they gave the wrong room which deluxe single bedroom and said that all rooms were booked hence cannot change the room. Staff are hyperactive, but amateur in handling customers. I do not recommend it.
- sohvil (6/5): Clean hotel but not sound proof - Hotel was relatively clean, staff were nice and friendly.
Room was ok, but not sound proof. Our room had a buzzing sound that went off every few seconds, dont know what it was but it was finally quiet after midnight. It however resumed around 4am+ and kept me awake all morning. There is a mosque nearby that also started their prayers at around 4:50am. When other customers woke up and walked around the corridor, it was clearly heard in the rooms. We stayed on the 3rd floor, near the staircase. perhaps the buzzing was from a generator or smth. Would recommend future customers to stay on a lower floor or a different room if they are staying on the 3rd floor. If you are a light sleeper, getting a hotel with more sound proofed walls would be better. However, if you arent, this hotel would be fine. My partner slept through all the sounds so clearly it will be fine for people who sleep more soundly.
Breakfast was complimentary but very simple. Bread, jam and some cereal. Distance itself is ok, 15mins walk to the beach. You can get a tuktuk for 100baht if you dont want to walk. You can also rent a motorbike but the roads here can be a little dangerous.
- Merja (10/5): We liked this place, good place & cheap price - This place we really liked. Spacious room, comfort bedding and even coffee/tee and bread in the morning as extra service. Not toi far away from the Aonang beach. Very good at this price!
- Sightsee829832 (2/5): Very bad services - Employee at reception is rude. They provide bad rental services. Terms and condition are not fully explained to customer. Report to the manager but the manager also rude. Please dont take any of their services.
- chery1985 (10/5): THE BEST BUDGET HOTEL - Its really clean, the staff is very friendly, the room was big. Really good location, near to mosque. Every room have their on balcony. Easy to find HALAL FOOD, massage only beside the hotel. It's not really near to the beach, maybe 10-15 minute walking to the beach depend on ur walking speed. A lot of good restaurant around. U can rent motorbike at the hotel. Free toast/jam/coffee/tea for breakfast. Definitely i like it to come back to Aonang Eco Inn..
- 926mishm (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel - We got a good deal on this hotel via hotels.com, the location was fantastic a 10 minute walk to the beach, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, free toast/jam/coffee for breakfast, stunning room with amazing view of the large rock formations and ocean view from balcony.
Highly recommended
- jfrancis2 (4/5): Wanted to like it but construction/interruptions ruined the experience. - Pros:
- About a 10 minute walk to the beach
- Big room for what you pay for
- AC works, hot water worked
- Comfy, big bed (on the firmer side)
- Free brewed coffee (and toast) in the morning. In Thailand, getting a coffee elsewhere is about 60-70 Baht ($2 USD) for 8oz.
- Front desk staff were very friendly
Cons:
- They were doing construction on all the rooms around me, so lots of loud noises going on all through the day. Not a huge deal as I was out most of the day, but it did wake me up twice.
- Had someone try to enter my room while I was there with a do not disturb sign on the door. Did not knock. Asked them what they were doing and they said "wrong room".
- They called me halfway through my stay to say they need me to move to a different room because they're needed to renovate my room.
- The site I booked through said they had 24-hour reception, they very much do not.
I was here in the "low" season so its unlikely they'd be doing this stuff during the high season and someone could probably have a good experience here.
- Sopiobasilauri (10/5): Definitely best budget hotel - Stayed there for 6 nights with a friend ( 70$ Per person ) which is a great velue for the amenities hotel provides, free coffee and the bread for breakfast, 10 minuets to the beach and everything around you need restaurants, bars, street food 👍
Rooms are clean and nice , staff friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - nice hotel, comfortable environment, friendly staff, 1km walk near to beach, very happening at night, surrounding by 24 hrs convenience store and massage shop, food nice and yummy
- vincentlB7998UR (10/5): Aonang Eco Inn is a best budget hotel - If you are on a budget travel and looking for a good place to stay. This place is the one for you.
The rooms are well maintained and washrooms are also good. Only one drawback is it is situated a little farther from the Aonang beach.
Right from this place to the beach you will be able to find numerous restaurants to feed yourself. Beside this hotel there is a eatery where food available for cheap price. Although I will recommend it for one visit only. It is not healthy.
Hotel staff is very polite. I forgot the name of the lady who welcomed us. She was a very cooperative person and a jolly nature. She always had a smile on her face.
On the outside you can hire a two wheeler and never worry about the distance of this hotel from the beach.
- holetruth (4/5): Distinctly average totally agree with the review by “unseencolours” - Unseencolours review of this place is spot on.
Should be in the 800 baht a night range
My room had no hot water, very poor air conditioning and there was a lot of noise from the street at night
I could even hear the couple next door chatting on their balcony whilst lying in bed.
So, poor double glazing and patio doors if they were at all double glazed?
The back rooms look over a building site
No kettle in my room, they were happy to provide one but no cups.
Not as fantastic as some reviewers might suggest.
- NeilH540 (8/5): Great place to stay - Hotel is at the top of the hill on the main street to the beach.
Lots of local street food stalls around the area. Also a very cheap self serve laundry opposite.
Hotel is very clean and comfortable and the double bed we had was big and really comfy too.
Breakfast is included although it is just waffles and toast/ jams/ honey. As much as you want with good coffee till 10am.
There's a mosque close by and you can hear call to prayer often, but it wasn't loud.
Walk to beach is about 800m, so a bit of a trek in the heat, but not bad.
Staff are very friendly and obliging.
There's a beer fridge in the room that's really good prices. Small tin of Chang beer 35 Bhat.
Would recommend here, good value, clean, comfortable.
- Baolan (8/5): Conveniently located - if you already know what you want to do in Krabi - Located at a 10 min walk from Ao Nang beach, close to several good local restaurants, dive shops and the supermarket "Mother marché" (convenient when you're sick of the usual food and drinks and want some good fruits/vegetables etc.).
The room we had was clean and spacious with a small balcony over the main street. A bit busy but not too bad. You will wake up early though since it's near the mosque.
The staff is friendly and helpful although doesn't speak English much.
The breakfast is basic (bread, jams, tea, coffee and some juices) although they make the effort to make some Thai waffles. We recommend you to buy what you like at the supermarket and enjoy it with the tea/coffee/waffles.
The Leela massage next door is excellent and reasonably priced. If you have specific pain points - very likely after rock climbing, diving or kayaking - ask for khun Poo or khun Moe (pronounced like "moo" and the first syllable of Etsy) to "fix" you. (But expect some pain)
Overall a a good stay, conveniently located if you already know what you want to do or explore around Krabi.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No one on the staff could speak english so it was very difficult to get help with anything, even something as simple as getting a towel or more toilet paper for the room.
Bathroom sink leaked, shower curtain was moldy. Other than that the room was clean. My dads room however didn't have those issues.
- MD (8/5): Value of money - Very good hotel, need to walk 15 min to get the beach. Indian food restaurant is very close. Room was comfortable and clean. I enjoyed my stay. front desk was really helpful.
- Narelle-Australia (8/5): Easy motorbike hire - Three times we've rented motorbikes from the Eco Inn. Check the tread on the tires but otherwise the bikes are great. Its a bit time consuming completing the paperwork and staff entering the details into the computer however you receive a computer receipt for leaving your passport as a security with them.
- theunseencolors (4/5): Price is really unjustified compared to competition - First of all, there's nothing remotely "eco" about this hotel, not even the pretense of it. Thought that was kind of odd.
More importantly, for a place that runs for something like 1,300-1,500 baht per night, I expect staff that are fairly well trained... like being able to understand when they're being asked for a beach towel rental (which is clearly advertised on the front desk), or perhaps for an umbrella. The staff might be lovely people, but they really don't speak anything other than Thai, and that just doesn't make sense at a hotel in Thailand in this price range.
Additionally, there were a lot of shoddy design decisions made throughout the hotel, and most importantly in the rooms. The shower head was affixed at a point in the wall that was lower than my chest, and even though it was on a cord like most Thai shower heads, it could barely reach over my head, and at 183cm/6 feet, I'm no giant. This is just one example of what seemed like a constant theme of thoughtlessness in design.
That being said, the beds were fine, and the wifi was okay, and of course the location is fine, being on the main strip of ao nang, a bit under a kilometer from the beach.
If you're the type of person to turn on the installed televisions in hotel rooms, you might be surprised to find that there are only 19 Thai language channels, and nothing else, despite the fact that almost all guests will be Russian, Chinese or English speakers (or English proficient at least). I can't say I really care about that, but perhaps it's worth noting.
Anyway, all of this is to say that it's a fine place to sleep, but you'll get better service and nicer design in other spots in the same vicinity for possibly even a lower price, so I really just can't recommend it.
- Alek (8/5): - Solid basic hotel. Adjust your expectations accordingly and you will be happy with your stay. The hotel is located on busy street. If you are sensitive to noise, chose differently.
- greatserpent (8/5): Comfortable hotel with a great shower - We were given a standard twin room 26 at the beginning...got in the room and literally couldn't stand the smell of cigarettes that was masked by some air freshener, also the shower was not like the pictures...it was a bathtub style and the shower head was really low...so we changed room to room 12 which was a standard double and it was A LOT better, didn't smell, shower was great enclosed in glass and high up.
the staff at the front desk mmm the english is not so good so if you want to explain things can be a bit difficult to communicate
they provide "breakfast" which is basically like bread and thai waffles and coffee/tea...do yourself a favour and cross the road to ao nang boat noodle, best place we just kept eating there for breakfast.
scooter rental here is 200 baht per day (with a 100km limit and +50 baht extra if you go over that) but the scooters are in good condition
location is good on the main street in Ao Nang within 15 minutes you can reach the beach...although it's not good quality very murky and sludgy, go railay phranang cave beach (clean but greenish tinge water) or koh poda (crystal clear light blue water)
Things i liked about hotel
-big room
-shower was good enclosed in glass, strong pressure and the hot water lasts
-shower gel, shampoo provided
-bed was quite comfortable
-mini fridge provided
-location
Things to improve on
-don't have drying racks
-wifi was okay
-housekeeping for 2 days forgot to replace the water bottles and then also forgot to refill the tissue box on 1 day.
- khushboom165 (8/5): Value for money - I will highly recommend this hotel because of its location. Staff is friendly. Hotels rooms arevery clean and tidy. Easy access to main road. One can take a walk to the beach. There is complimentary breakfast of toast, waffles, coffee and juice.
- Brian (10/5): Excelent - Excellent hotel, well situated, large rooms, lovely staff.
- Carmelo (10/5): Lovely little hotel where “All “the staff is nice - I highly recommend this hotel for the efficiency and the courtesy of the staff, they are also helpful and the hotel though modest is as clean as any 5star establishment, convenient with everything within a stroll including the beach. I will surely go back if I return to Ao Nang.
Thank you for making my stay so pleasant.
- Jenuren (10/5): - Value for money good place and strategic and love
- mike (10/5): Love this place - Great location with smiley front desk staff with restaurants, massage, shopping and convenient stores right out at your door step including street food. Recommend to rent a scooter for 200RM from the hotel a day to get down to the beach strip easier. You will definitely want to eat at Boat Noodle across the street sooooo delicious and cheap wow!!!! The rooms are clean and spacious btw as we extended our stay. It rained when we were in Ao Nang so luckily we were in this hotel!! Super comfy!!!!!
- Moon (10/5): Pleasant stay!!! - Helpful & friendly staff. Clean environment. Easy access to the main road. 20 mins walking distance to the beachside.
- Carly (10/5): Comfortable and beautiful - Loved our stay at this hotel. It was far enough away from the business of the Main Street and beach but close enough to walk there. The people working were very helpful and got us everything we needed quickly, including transportation the day we left. Our room was very comfortable, the bed was great, air conditioner worked perfect, wifi was good and the balcony was a nice bonus. If we came back to Ao Nang this would definitely be the hotel we choose to stay at.
- YAP GEOK (10/5): Good location, Staff nice, Room Clean. - Staff very helpful and nice, good service. room is very clean and comfortable... happy stay Aonang Eco Inn hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff friendly, good value for money, not to far to the beach..........I thinks I will back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location and good hotel. However, it can be noisy at times as it is on the main road to the Ao Nang beach.
- Jo (8/5): Good Location. - Hotel room was lovely but the bathroom needs updating as it wasn't up to the standard of the room.
The balcony above the main street was great for people watching and got a lot of sun. There was a free breakfast of toast, waffles, coffe and juice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): great rooms, good location, no breakfast - stayed here for 2 nights. overall great stay. rooms are very nice, and location is good. we were just bummed that there was no breakfast (only toast with jam and pretty bad waffles)
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decently priced stay for one night - i stayed one night at this holiday because my flight was delayed by a day, paid GBP28 for a double room (expedia deal)
Pros:
- centrally located - 10 mins walk to the beach, massage places and restaurants right next doors
- friendly helpful staff, spoke good english
- clean room, good wifi, good aircon, decent bed
Cons:
- room facing main road, could be noisy at times
- water pressure at the shower was not strong enough
Overall - nice hotel, very good for the price, very happy with my stay. but don't expect a luxury standard room.
- Li Hwa (8/5): Confortable & Convenience - Big room- reasonable price.
Wifi - free very high speed.
Toilet abit old but is okie for us ...
Location - near a lot of cafe/ restaurant/bar , to Aonang beach by walking abt 15mins.
- Ian (8/5): Perfect stay - Great stay and would recommend
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff is friendly. Hotel location not far from beach.
- Karl (10/5): Ao nang base for September - Excellent Hotel with superb staff. Room cleaned with new sheets & towels every day. Great location to explore the area, as not far for the main area but far enough away to be quiet. I ran almost every day & some great routes from here. Slight downer was the Mosque call to prayers at 5am every day, but not a problem! Would definately stay here again!
- amirul (10/5): Very near around to halal stall and good services - I was stay there last week and the time we check in at receptionist the give us cold towel and lemon grass water. That so refresh after long journey. The hotel room was good with clean, and strategic place
- Cass (8/5): Good service - The staff is amazing . Very kind to lend me umbrella and arrange airport transfer .
The down side is that there's no food available.
The good side is that the room is super big and cosy. Balcony available
- Melvin (10/5): Comfort and easy access to ao nang beach. - Strategic location, very convenience, nearby 7-11,good store.friendly hotel staff. Will check in this hotel again.
- Debbie (8/5): Great value! - Clean spacious room, good Wi-Fi, very friendly and helpful staff, lots of massage places and restaurants around.
- Chris (6/5): 2 Significant negatives - Newly renovated budget hotel with elevator and friendly staff.
Dangerous bathroom. Tub has is very slippery and no shower curtain so entire bathroom gets wet and has a slippery tile floor. Tub is useless anyway as it takes about 45 minutes to fill and by then the water is cold. It would be better and safer to remove the tub and install an enclosed shower.
2nd negative is there are only 4 TV channels, 3 Thai and one 24 hr Christian religious. They told me all the TV's in the hotel only have the same 4 channels.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay. - Get accommodation within 10minutes walk from the beach. The rooms were good sizes, very clean with a comfortable bed and the bathroom came with a bath tub which is a rarity in Asia.
However the best bit about this accommodation was the staff who went out of their way to make it a pleasant stay whether it was printing out our boat tickets, sorting out our transport to the airport or allowing us to leave our bags in storage for a couple of days when we went off to visit the islands they were only to happy to help.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful - Everything is great! Friendly staff, good location, nice room.
- Sheyanne (6/5): Ok - It was ok
- Gregory (8/5): Great place in a great location - This was a last minute booking we made the day before we stayed there due to an issue we had with a hotel we were staying at the night before. It was a great choice to move here. The staff is extreme my friendly and accommodating, the rooms are nice, comfy beds, very clean wifi signal, and great location.
- Kristopher (8/5): Nice staff, 15 min from hotel - Very pleasant stay at Eco Inn. Our first room had a strange smell but thy were able to move us to another room. The staff was vey nice and always welcoming. We arrived to the hotel with a sweet welcome tea and cleansing cloth. Elevator. Breakfast was not really breakfast, just toast, coffee. Very plain and was disappointed by that but there are plenty of places nearby for breakfast anyways. Request a room on the back side for more quiet and greenery. Hotel excursions prices are more expensive, so use a tour agency on any street. Cleaning service was good. Hotel is about 15 min to the beach and Main Street which didn't both us. About 45 min away from airport. I think the hotel could have been a bit cheaper priced. The place was fine, not amazing but it did the job, was clean, great staff, and with safe, tea kettle, ironing board, balcony. Cheap laundry service, thy did a good job.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Good stay - It is close to a boat noodle restaurant which serve very good Thai food. The location is very ideal. The room was alright but we find the plumbing in the toilet is bad.
