Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location near Hammersmith tube. Friendly staff and a clean room. Small... but great value for the money. Hammersmith's great as it's straight on the tube 20 mins to Westminster so perfect
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great room - Excellent room we were right at the top so not suitable for those less able to manage stairs. Very clean with a comfortable bed easy check in will stay there again when next in town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Spot - Chose to take a smaller room so that I could check in early. Only complaint is it was next to the stairwell and the noise from people moving around was a bit high. Other than that staff was super friendly, room was very clean, and location was great. Highly recommend.
- Eunice (10/5): Would definitely stay again! - The plaze was amazing and clean! We’ve no problems whatsoever. The place was close to the station and a lot of shops. The housekeeper was friendly and accommodating. The check-in was a breeze! Would recommend.
- Claire (10/5): - Very well priced comfortable room with very helpful host. Would stay again
- Jessica (8/5): Convenient and nice - Aviva studio apartments are super convenient. They are a short walk from the Hammersmith station to take the tube basically everywhere. There are also great places to eat nearby. We really enjoyed our stay.
Our room was a perfect size for us. We didn't need much since we were only there to sleep. We spent most of our time out and about but it was very nice to come back to this room.
- Marty (10/5): - The owner/managers have obviously put a lot of thought even into the small things. Their investment in the hotel is total. They care about what they are doing and their clientele. One example of this is a set of hooks on the outside of the bathroom door in the room I had.
Additionally it is near walking distance to both Hammersmith tube stops as well as a Primark, a Sainsbury supermarket and all kinds of local stores, pubs, and restaurants including a Poundland (like a Dollar Store).
- Matthew (10/5): Great choice in Hammersmith - The location is excellent- minutes from Hammersmith tube stations. Room was clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. Kitchenette made things very convenient.
- Mr.George (10/5): - Stayed overnight as went to Apollo to watch Kevin bridges apartment was ideally suited.
- Roxana (6/5): - The rooms in the back are nice. Very noisy through the paper thin walls. Customer service terrible.
- DE (10/5): - Mattress is quite soft not good for back, everything else is excellent.
- Kat J (8/5): Comfort, independence and great owners! - Ideal location in busy Hammersmith, but tucked away from the main roads within walking distance of everything. So great have your own kitchen and save on over-priced restaurant food. Very comfortable bed & pilllows and a great layout in room. The only downside was rowdy next door neighbours - two twenty something guys. I ended up banging on their door at 2.30am (which worked), little realising that the lovely couple who run this great place would have done that for me. They live on the premises and will always take care of guests if there are any issues. You cannot account for the odd bad guest - people are unpredictable. And yes, I would stay there again. I really liked it and it suited me perfectly for a one night visit or even two.
- Melody (8/5): Nice hotel close to hammersmith station - Good location with different shops and types of transportations
- Ashley (10/5): Loved! - Aviva was perfect for our needs. Staff was very friendly, room had everything you might need, simple, and they even held our luggage for us while we checked out the city! We loved the neighborhood, and the proximity to the tube helped us see the most we could in our short visit.
- wenn (6/5): - The owner is friendly and the house keeping is fine. Convenient to Tube. There is no elevator in this place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good, but shower slow then drain - Clean, friendly and comfortable stay. Only issue was the shower tray filled up very quickly so I had to turn off the water while I washed then rinse afterwards.
- a (6/5): Nice staff but noisy - They have nice pillows but you’ll need them to put over your head to sleep because the house is old and creaky and has normal walls, not soundproof.
Hammersmith is a good location and fairly close on the tube line to London.
Very nice receptionists and maid.
Small rooms but kitchen is great.
We had loud neighbors with noisy kids.
Construction site across street is loud.
Supermarkets nearby.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great service and comfortable stay - Located near Hammersmith in zone 2, very convenient to get around using public transit (four lines and multiple buses). The staff at Aviva were very accommodating with my pre-stay requests and great during as well. Great value and experience for your London stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent in every respect. Felt very secure and in a relaxing environment.Highly recommended.
- Katie (8/5): Lovely place to stay - The stay was really good! Close by to the tubes and stations, so for us it was great, as we were exploring all around London for the weekend. Not only that but the apartment was lovely to come back to after a cold night at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, and we both slept like babies on the bed, so comfy!
- Esteban (10/5): Nice and quite - Good location and accessible to any transport for shopping and pleasure
- Jim (8/5): Great Base to Operate From! - Great location only a short walk from the Tube and it was ideal as a base to get into London!
- Colin (8/5): Very handy location - The location was great, the staff were very pleasant and welcoming and the room was well equipped and clean. If you are staying for more than one night then it's really useful that the room has a small kitchen area with a fridge, cooker, microwave and utensils. Felt like good value to me and I'd stay again.
- Susan (8/5): Convenient for concert - Room great, card key a bit dodgy and no-one on reception around to swap it: was worried about this while out at concert since I knew no reception when returning late but it worked after several attempts.
- Matthew (6/5): Good enough when the price is right. - Not bad, not great. Converted rowhouse, nice for an extended stay because of the kitchenette, so-so for a short stay. Owners were very friendly, prompt, and helpful.
Didn’t like that I could hear my neighbor hacking up a lung in the bathroom each morning. The mattress was definitely in need of replacement, the shower could use a shelf to put your toiletries, and the water was impossible to keep at a constant temperature. Had to stay alert in the shower to jump out of the alternately scalding and cold water.
Great location near Hammersmith tube station.
- NGA TIM (10/5): - Our stay in this hotel was excellent. The room has everything we need for sleeping and cooking. One minor comment is that it takes slightly longer time for water heat up when bathing.
- Tan (10/5): - Nice hotel clean. Quite near the Underground station.
- Billy (10/5): Close to Underground Station, Malls, Shops - I and my wife had 2 suitcases each. We were helped from the front door by hotel staff who insisted he carry the heavier suitcase of mine because he was "heavier" (than me) then picked up one of my wife's suitcases, too. Our room was on the 4th floor (3rd floor but building starts with "Ground", then "1", "2", "3") so there was desire on the hotel's part to make up for its lack of elevator especially for those staying on the upper floors.
Hotel was clean, in a quiet residential neighborhood, and close to all the shops and Underground (Hammersmith).
While shopping along main street (King St.), I saw two major chain hotels and Aviva is a shorter walk from the Underground.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was ready when we arrived early, which was great. It was a little tight on room, there really wasn't any room for suitcases. The shower room is quite small, but serviceable. We had a couple of issues with a hairdryer, and the toilet which were dealt with immediately. The stairs are a bit of a challenge. Especially with luggage, but the young lady who checked us in helped us. which was really appreciated.
- Jim (8/5): Good value studios with good transport connections - Aviva Studio Apartments is a large semi-detached town house conversion about 5 minutes' walk from Hammersmith tube station (about 40 minutes to the City). The owners live in the lower levels, so the place looks well-cared for, and you have reception cover between 08:00 and 22:00. It is situated on a one-way street not far from the Hammersmith one way system, which does mean that there is traffic late at night and early morning. There was some noise from building sites nearby, but that's pot luck wherever you stay. The stair carpet could do with replacing, but other than that the place is in good repair, and the cleaning staff are diligent and keep the place very clean. The rooms have aircon (a big plus at this price bracket), and whilst the bathroom was small, everything was spotlessly clean. The mattresses aren't too thick, and the walls are thin (you can hear the conversation (and other things) from the room next door and above. Despite those few minor irritations, this place is great value for money and I will likely stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to facilities and transport. A great place to stay!
- Monica (10/5): Comfortable, exceptionally clean Studio's. - This is my second stay at Aviva Studio's. Really comfortable and exceptionally clean with air conditioning which was a joy in tnis weeks 30 plus heat!! and family run who go out of their way to make your stay a joy. Nothing is too much trouble they even cooked my dinner in their own oven for me when found out my meal wasn't suitable for microwave. Studio's are modern with blinds which do keep out the light. My studio was at the back and totally noise free with comfortable double bed. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend.
- Dailey (10/5): Clean and convenient studio - My family of three stayed here for three nights. It is a 5 minute walk from Hammersmith Station which has access to the picadilly and district lines, making transportation into central London very easy. The host was very pleasant and let us keep our bags in the lobby till check in. The neighborhood had a wide selection of restaurants and coffee shops. The room is small but has everything you need and the kitchenette is well equipped with an oven, burners, microwave, toaster, fridge, plates, glass wear and utensils. Bed was very comfortable and the AC was working great. Very clean living quarters. The wifi was a bit inconsistent is all. Would definitely recommend to those looking to stay on a budget in London!
- Lee (10/5): - The room was clean and tidy on arrival. Had everything I needed and more. Staff were friendly and accommodating. In a great location, a five minute walk (max) from Hammersmith Tube Station and perfect for attending concerts at the Eventim Apollo.
- Tony (10/5): Recommended - Short easy walk from Hammersmith Station, TV is Amazon Firestick (unusual in hotels - great!), well fitted kitchenette, room comfortable and clean. No hesitation to recommend.
- Jonathan (10/5): Excellent price, facilities and location. - Great apartment for the price, perfectly self contained. Friendly and helpful staff and within a 10 minute walk to the Hammersmith Apollo. Fantastic.
- juan manuel (10/5): - Wi-Fi needs to improve
- Verified traveler (6/5): Two day break - I needed two nights to rest and relax. The location is lovely, apart from the construction work going on opposite. The building looked perfect, but on entry there was no lift and I was situated on the top floor. I had to carry my luggage up 4.5 flights of stairs. The lights didn't always come on in time and the stairs creak. It is quite steep and narrow. I had the studio room. The cupboard door for the crockery fell of and was not fixed when I reported it. But the room was clean and quite nice. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- Pauline (8/5): - On the Picadilly Line from Heathrow. Incredibly convenient for travellers coming from there. Also excellent access to city trains. Tesco supermarket at Hammersmith station, and the apartments are just a short walk from there. Recommended for singles or couples.
- Emily (10/5): Great independent hotel thats comfortable & clean - Great location. Quiet. Fresh and clean. Bed comfort amazing. Well organised.
- Verified traveler (8/5): More than decent on a budget - Pleasant location close to Hammersmith tube. Friendly management, helpful in lugging bags up the stairs. Very comfortable bed in a rather small room. This is not luxury, but still very reasonably priced given the area.
WiFi connectivity was somewhat intermittent, and despite promises to fix the in-room safe it wasn't fixed in my two-day stay. And, there was no phone in the room. But, the place is clean, the owners are nice, and the price is right.
I'd stay here again.
- ruhop (10/5): excellence - the cleanest, most comfortable place weve stayed in. excellent all round. will defiantly be back. best bed EVER.
- Jess (10/5): Little gem in a very quiet area - Great location if you have a concert the Hammersmith Eventim. We visited on a sunny day and took a stroll by the river, visited William Morris' house and generally chilled out near Hammersmith suspension bridge. The hotel itself is super clean and has a very homely feel unlike most hotels. All facilities you could possibly want are there. The only thing to watch are the flora are quite slippery so the furniture tends to move about a bit. Would definitely stay there again.
- Cheryl (10/5): Fantastic hotel - What a gem! Friendly, clean, spacious and comfortable. Nothing negative to say about about this hotel and we're looking forward to visiting again.
- Steve (10/5): Great Studio Hotel close to tube station - Great location in a quiet neighbourhood. Hotel was approximately 5 minutes walk from the tube station. Loads of shops, pubs & cafes etc in close proximity to satisfy most tastes. The room was very spacious with a very soft bed and even softer pillows (might not be to everyone's taste). Nice and clean with excellent shower along with fridge, microwave and kettle. Air Conditioning unit was remote controlled, which came in handy when it started during the early hours.
The only downer was roadworks outside (but nothing to be done about that and didn't impact our stay at all; just made it initially hard to locate our hotel).
To summarise, fantastic hotel at a fantastic price with brilliant transport locations for onward travel. Recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was big enough to be comfortable and very convenient as near to central London much better then a standard hotel as you have s kitchen to prepare a meal if you don't fancy going out, great value for money
- Rachael (10/5): Excellent location, facilities, very comfortable - I had a wonderful stay, my friends joined me in a room of their own one night and we all agreed we would return again and tell our friends what a great place to stay Aviva was.
- Ting Ya (10/5): Lovely Stay - The only thing I feel a pity is that I only stay here for one night. It's definitely a great place to stay. There's a little kitchen with almost everything you'll need. Besides, It's just next to the Hammersmith station and there are lots of stores there, you can buy groceries nearby and prepare the meal for yourself easily. I really enjoy my stay here. Oh, there's no elevator, but the staff will help you if you have a large luggage (I only stay one night so I didn't bring lots of things with me.)
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfort and clean - Actually we just stay for 1 nights. So it is good for the location. We can easy to get on the train and then to the airport.
The room was clean but not too large, especially the bathroom, a little bit small and tiny. Overall, it is good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel next to tube station and Olympia - Can't fault location, excellent desk service. Room noisy and small. Did not really see the point of the kitchen
