Guest Reviews
- Fiona (4/5): Poor experience - Hi son stayed for 3 weeks, first week room not cleaned 2nd week maids went in and cleared all his stuff out even though he was booked in for another 2 weeks. Would not use again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Stirling stuff - Superb surroundings (lucky students!). The bed is great for one person but a bit small for a couple. Overall, a great place to stay.
- John (4/5): Excellent rooms but almost zero facilities. - I arrived at 3.00pm on a Sunday afternoon. Firstly, the "hotel", which is student accommodation, is hardly signposted on a large and beautiful university campus. My room was excellent and the shower first-rate. There were, however, no toiletries except small circular pieces of soap. I enquired at the reception and was told that the description of the accommodation was "hotel-like" and did not include toiletries, beverage-making facilities etc. I was told I could buy toiletries on the campus. In fact, at 3.15 in the afternoon, all of the shops were closed, nor could I find any refectory for coffee etc. I walked about a mile into Bridge of Allen, where I managed to buy some cold food and drinks from the local Tesco. Those served as both my evening meal and breakfast. As I said, the room and the shower were excellent, but, at least if you arrive on a Sunday, facilities are virtually non-existent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good Accomodation in lovely surroundings. - Very friendly staff. Clean Accomodation. Easy access to Stirling and surrounding areas. Cafe/ restaurant on site close to my Accomodation. Standard breakfasts, full Scottish. Continental breakfast ok could be improved. Plenty fresh coffee. Overall good value for money, would consider staying again and recommending.
- kate (8/5): Peaceful location - Beechcourt was central for our visit to this beautiful area. From train ride into Edinburgh ,North to the Trossachs.Beds basic doubles fine if you are two light weights. Use of all facilities great. Felt very safe .24 hrs security. Well recommended.
- Jaime (10/5): Great Value - Easy and fast check in and check out
easy access to groceries and transportation
clean
I will return this coming year to this hotel
great value
- Wendy (8/5): Good value - Nice small room. No TV or clock. Towels and soap provided but no other toiletries or even a glass. Lovely location - short walk to the bus stop with frequent service into Stirling and surrounding area.
- Kelly (8/5): Lovey for short stay - On arrival they did not have confirmation of my stay but very quickly, and politely, got us a room in another area. The bed was very uncomfortable and the shared areas were not comfortable to be in! The smell was very unpleasant in the area. However our own room was lovely and clean but small. The view from our room was breathtaking. It was fantastic for a night! I would visit again!
- Richard (10/5): Stirling University - Set in beautiful grounds, with forest walks and its own "lake". Café/canteens and shops on site, fair prices. Comfortable rooms and excellent kitchen facilities, very quiet. Staff are friendly and efficient. One could not fault living here at the price I paid, I will be returning, often.
- David (10/5): Visit to Daughters Graduation. - Decided to book a room on Stirling University to be close to the University on Graduation day to avoid congestion and stress on the day itself.
Positive experience overall.
Room very clean.
Staff on reception friendly and helpful.
Good Base to visit the town, castle and Wallace Monument.
- Verified traveler (6/5): nice surroundings, accommodation - Unfortunately, we thought we were booked into the Stirling Court Hotel and found the accommodation very basic. However, it served its purpose and the breakfasts were very good.
- William (10/5): - Very superior self catering student accommodation. Excellent location on an attractive campus. Helpful staff. No problems at all. Receommended.
- AL (10/5): Perfect place to rest your head - After a starting our motorbike trip to the highlands we decided to book into a hotel at Stirling, having stayed in one of the other hotels on site I decided to give this one a go and was not disappointed.
Very good value, rooms were very basic but spotlessly clean and comfortable. Everything you could want really! Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was excellent and the quality of the food in the restaurant looked great. Only gripe was the price of the beer. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area on a budget. Its a 40 minute walk into Stirling or theres loads of busses and you can even have use of the fitness facilities.
Will stay here again.
- Leif (10/5): Great stay for the price - All of the "Courts" at Univ Sterling are student dorms, so if you are there in the summer time, there will be no students. This is much different from Cambridge in the summer, since students and their families are visiting the city all summer long. Beautiful scenery, as Univ Sterling has one of the most scenic campuses in the world.
Be sure to buy shampoo, skin lotion, and facecloth before you check in since there was only a small bar of soap, bath towel, and hand towel. They also didn't supply a blanket or bedsheet, only a cover slip was on the mattress.
- Paul (8/5): Definitely no frills but cheap enough. - Good stay, but surprised not to get a change of towels/sheets in a 10 day stay. Bed not the best but did what it had to.
I tried to book this accommodation 6 weeks earlier but it would have cost 5 times as much as I ended up paying.
- Robert (6/5): University of Stirling campus. - Be careful about room selection, some do not have TV and/or coffee making facilities.
- michael (8/5): Nice rooms in lovely surroundings. - Two nights. Reception didn't have us booked in, but cleared it up after a delay.
Nice rooms, but no breakfast as expected. Use of kitchen though. Really nice surroundings, and nicely located for town. No cold water on morning we left.
All in all very enjoyable, in spite of a couple of hitches.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Inexpensive option in Stirling - This was a good choice, the staff was friendly and the location was great.
- Yvonne (6/5): - Very friendly staff, lovely location but bed was really uncomfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): University grounds - The rooms are what you,d expect from student accommodation they were very clean and the grounds were beautiful. The kitchen facilities were great which you could use any time.there is a good bus service which runs into town regular
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room very very basic and tiny
- Lars (8/5): Solide Unterkunft im Gästehaus der Uni - The William Wallace Pub ist einen Besuch Wert.
- Mathew (6/5): Useful for overnight stay - Just one night on the way to a large family gathering in the Highlands. Studio room was large but typical university residence stark. Very hard bed! Cafeteria breakfast served by very pleasant staff.
- Pedro (6/5): - Nice studio with all the necessary appliances.
The view from our room was really nice.
Expect an university campus environment, but overall real nice.
- Ashraf (6/5): A no frills accomodation value for money. - Easy to find with or without satnav, parking is convenient and Stirling not far but need a car. Room was adequate, bed was not very comfortable could do with a bed topper, and only two limp pillows had to ask for two more. Very quite and peaceful. We booked a double room but only got one set of towels had to ask for another set. There was a used bath flannel in bathroom?
There is an adjoining kitchen so you can bring your own food if you like and warm it up or even cook a meal.
Check out at 10am not very convenient 11am or 12 would be more in line with most hotels. There is a restaurant on site and food quality is good but not enough choice should have the option of sandwiches not just main meals.
- Jean (8/5): University - We paid more for an upgrade as the original room we were given had only a bed and 1 chair, no kettle, no tv, nothing.
The upgrade with kitchen had a kettle, coffee and tv. There was 2 teaspoons, 5 desert spoons and two forks. There were no knives, no bottle or tin opener and no pots to cook with very disappointed.
- ROSS (8/5): Quick stop over - Quick stop on route south. Prefect location. Helpful staff
- Stephanie (8/5): Back to Uni - Great at so many levels, but it would be very useful to indicate on the website that it is a student residence, so you can find it via the road signs.
- Pit (8/5): Gästehaus der Universität Stirling - Außehalb der Stadt, geppflegtes Haus inmitten gepflegter großer Parkanlage mit See. Mehrere Buslinien in die Stadt.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Bathroom Must Be Improved - Water gets choked because of poor plumbing system in the shower. Extremely bad flooding occured.
- Ali (4/5): Comfort hm! - This room gets the award for the most uncomfortable bed I have ever attempted to sleep in.
Please do something about this as it really lets down the place.
Could really do with a TV in the room as well.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No wifi in room or reception.
- Philip (8/5): Great location - Great, but only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the vending machine on campus swallowed my money and no WiFi in the rooms! Very friendly and helpful chap on the reception as well!
- Helen (8/5): Good cheap accomodation - Immaculate room and bathroom. Lots of free parking. Large kitchen with utensils at end of corridor. Great swimming pool. The downside if that wifi is not available in the room and access to the room is via two security doors and a grass area plus lift. There is no real service from reception staff and it is a walk from the car park to the hotel.
- Christine (2/5): Not for Adults! - Beds too small, no tv or coffee making facilities in room. Wooden floors amplified noise from adjoining rooms. Not a venue for grown ups1
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Universitäts-Gästehaus, mitten auf dem Campus. Nur Rezeption. Gute Cafeteria 2 Minuten entfernt. Einfache, saubere Ausstattunf
- Sergey (8/5): Good new student's apartment - cons:Small room, towels given only for one person. Double bed with one duvet. Shower is fixed on the wall - I hate that.
pros: New building (2014). Good new shared kitchen.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not at all what I expected - The room was very very basic - no TV no tea or coffee making facilities. And in the morning I had to join a long queue for breakfast - felt like I was back at school.
- Ian (10/5): Active people will love this. - Comfortable purpose student room with on-suite. No TV but TV in adjacent communal lounge. Also comprehensive communal kitchen. Beautiful grounds. On campus catering. Full use of on campus sports hall with full size swimming pool. Fantastic.
- Owen j (10/5): Great facilities - Hard to find on the campus but once found it was great. Big room, kitchen nearby and good walks around the park.
- SB (10/5): One night stay - We were Scottish Country Dancing in Bridge of Allan so Bech Court was ideal for us.
- Gary (2/5): Never again. What hotel doesn't have a TV???? - had a terrible stay
First hotel I have stayed in and it had no TV or wifi in the room and I stayed for 3 nights.
Also it showed pending that they was taking money out of my account all weekend even tho I paid cash on check in.
The reception said. Don't worry it won't take money when I already paid.
And of course when I got home checked my bank and they had charged me again so I got billed twice for a horrible stay. I did get my money back after 2 days of complaining.
- Simon (10/5): great place to stay - wonderful setting, close to Edinburgh, great price
Just make sure you get the internet passwords and user name in advance
- Robert (8/5): new dorm rooms at a fair price but far from city - These are dorm-rooms at the University of Sterling; you really need a car to get in and out of Stirling easily. Finding the building is rather complicated; I spent 40 minutes trying to locate it. The rooms are new, clean and well maintained, and access to the gym and pool is included. No breakfast included and the security staff act as check-in personnel. For the price paid, I was very happy with the level of accommodation.
- michael (8/5): Nice room and surroundings - Stayed one night on the way up to the north. Room was fine - clean and big enough.
Nicely situated near Lake in university campus.
