Guest Reviews
- Sean (6/5): - The gentleman William was so nice and kind when telling me that the pool was closed and the location in absolutely amazing! The pool was closed, ok, I can live with that, but from about 9:00am until I checked out was persistent construction noise. It was absolutely terrible and woke me up multiple times, it was certainly taking place in a room close to mine, it sounded like drilling into metal and just a crazy loud rattling. It would last for 15-20 seconds then break for a minute, then repeat. It woke me up multiple times and was completely unacceptable.
- Terri (2/5): A rip off - Location Unclean, noisy, amenities were mostly unavailable due to major renovation in progress. Breakfast was sub par.
- Joseph (2/5): - Location Very dated, worn out, torn comforter very dilapidated
- West (8/5): -
- Janet (6/5): Nobody told us ... - Front desk staff and breakfast lady were very pleasant. We were not told of construction and left one day early bc of it. Front desk lady said she would be happy to admin a refund for unused night, but could not bc I used Booking.com. Booking refused to refund. The travel interrupt ins. I paid for won't refund anything either bc it was our choice to leave early, but as I said we had no idea construction was happening and we needed sleep!
- Christopher (5/5): - If renovating wasnt being done maybe better Parking
- Debra (6/5): Wait until renovations are completed! - Location close to our interests (distilleries)
Hotel staff were helpful & very responsive to any issues we had. The hotel is in the process of updating (much needed!), which wasn't noted on the website when I booked. I probably would have chosen a different hotel had I known.
The fridge was loud, the air conditioning/fan was too loud to use. Everything just needs to be updated - hopefully when renovations are completed, it will all be good. I'd probably give it another shot after it's renovated.
- Joseph (10/5): -
- Thomas (3/5): The breakfast ,beds and location were good , but the building maintanance was really bad. - The elevator needed repair, the parking lot directions were incorrect on the hotel flyer, the first night there was no hot water and the door handle was loose and you had to try multiple times before it would open.
- Donald (6/5): -
- Klaus (3/5): - Location Dated
- Heather (9/5): Great hotel - Very nice property in a well situated area. This was close to downtown and to the distilleries in the area. Very clean and comfortable and great breakfast! The parking was not good. I would have been Leary to go out if I had been alone as the parking was very remote.
- Michael (8/5): Nice place in nice location - walkable to downtown and the capitol - The place fit well with our travel plans and met all our needs
- Bonnie (7/5): Price ok - Parking is a pain. Under construction many things not available. Beds old. Towels poor.
- Larrissa (1/5): Terrible - It was dust everywhere rooms dirty phones didn't work restaurant closed very bad Nothing
- Willie (6/5): -
- Elizabeth (1/5): - I stayed at the hotel the previous night with my two children and service dog without issue. However, upon checking in again tonight, I experienced extremely unprofessional treatment from a front desk employee named Lyn.
From the beginning of the interaction, Lyn was rude and dismissive. She repeatedly addressed my daughter instead of speaking directly to me, despite my clearly stating that I was the adult and that the children with me were my son and daughter.
When she noticed my dog, I informed her that he is my service animal. Her response and demeanor were immediately disrespectful. I explained that I had documentation from my psychiatrist, and she requested to review it. After reading it, she stated that it referred to the dog as an ESA rather than a service animal. I pointed out the section explaining that accommodations should be granted and describing how the animal assists with my diagnosed condition. She responded that she “didn’t care” and stated that I would still be charged for the dog.
I then asked to speak with a manager, and Lyn claimed that she was the manager. When I requested that she contact another manager, she refused and stated she would not call them “for that.” I later spoke with the actual manager, Josh Gains, who advised me to write down my name and room number and assured me that I would not be charged for my dog. He also informed me that Lyn is not a manager and only works part-time.
Later, when I returned to the desk to receive my room keys, another confrontation occurred. Lyn stated that there was video footage of the interaction that could be reviewed. I responded that I welcomed that review, as it would show both her rude behavior and the fact that she falsely represented herself as a manager.
In addition to the poor treatment, there were multiple issues with the room assignment itself. Lyn initially failed to provide a parking pass.
- Tewsley (10/5): - Location, facilities
- Darrell (9/5): - The price was a good deal The parking garage is a little bit of a distance to walk to & from the hotel. The good thing is that you can park right in front to load/unload your luggage, though.
- Patricia (8/5): Weekend visit - The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you We had to move rooms due to plumbing issues. But it happens to the best of us
- James (10/5): Great value for quality of hotel, cannot beat the location! - The staff where amazing, very nice and pleasant. Great location overlooking the river. Trolley tour starts in between parking garage and hotel. Pool was warm and clean, and free parking in garage. Right on throughput roads to get everywhere to eat (have to go out on bypass) and visiting capital/museums. Breakfast was decent, but can use some work. Food was pretty bland, power mix eggs, bad biscuits, any run of the mill hotel free breakfast. Hotel was under construction, so normal kitchen might be unavailable.
- Francisco (8/5): -
- LINDA (4/5): Needs repair - Location an best biscuits and gravy Old moldy
- Shane (1/5): Gross - It was close to Buffalo Trace It was gross
- Traveler513 (8/5): -

- Olisa (10/5): -
- Kristin (8/5): good quality stay - love the pool access and the quality of the rooms the bar wasn’t open. they also did have the fountain going due to renovation so it kind of made the lobby bland and uninviting.
- Stuart (6/5): It was ok at best - It was bland. The pancakes were rubbery. The fresh fruit was from a can. Not many drink options. Info on how to operate the TV. After 2 calls to the front desk to inquire as to how to operate the tv remote without an answer, i went down to the front desk to ask about the problem. The lady at the desk told me that i had to turn on the TV, and push the channel "up" button until i got a channel that worked and then i could scroll up and down. Tnat is the least intuitive system i would have imagined. Write it down and give it to each patron
- Isaac (7/5): - Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Under construction and bar closed due to construction. No notification was given that it was closed.
- Art (10/5): Excellent - Excellent location, rooms and staff Some construction going on.
- Darryl (5/5): -
- Rebekah (4/5): -
- Simonne (5/5): -
- KATHY (9/5): Great! Glad I drove through the capitol and saw a city I had not visited. Thanks! - GREAT breakfast - very nice personnel. Loved the sausage gravy and biscuit!
Maintenance man on duty late evening arrived promptly to fix tv and phone. Carpeting in room. Appeared dirty and worn.
- Droege (8/5): Overall, it was very clean and nice place to stay. Within walking distance of several goods spots to - The eggs were disappointing, but the selection of everything was good Mattress kept slipping off the frame when you would sit on it
- Guest (7/5): -
- Patricia (10/5): - Location and friendly staff Restaurant was closed
- Amy (7/5): -
- THERA98 (7/5): - Location was fantastic. Its being remodeled so when its done the place will be really nice. It looks like it used to be a grand hotel at one time. Price was great for its location. They had a decent hot breakfast as well. It smelled like an old hotel water fountain (they had one that was emptied so it made sense) but they are remodeling so I am sure once its done that will go away.
- Anthony (10/5): - Everything was nice The wall to the garage is not bad, but it’s a walk
- Robert (10/5): Definitely will stay again when in town - Very nice hotel and the front desk staff was exceptional
- Dane (8/5): Not a bad hotel for the money. - Super close to Buffalo Trace. Easy walking distance to downtown Frankfort and historic sites and restaurants. Tons of garage parking and a decent hot breakfast. Bed sheets had some stains on them and horrible smell was coming from the bathroom.
- Jeffrey (2/5): The hotel is under construction but they should’ve started in the rooms - The location for my needs was good It smell really bad in the hallway and inside the room. I was given a handicap room and that’s not wha I paid for
- Karen (5/5): Front desk staff apologized for the dust and noise. Not a very comfortable feeling - Very close to Buffalo Trace tour Under construction. B’ar and food were not served We had to leave the area to get dinner and a drink. Woke up to the sound of drills. Doors were not secure at night
- Anthony (10/5): -
- Austin (1/5): Awlful stay they should have refunded our stay - It was a mess too much construction The construction was horrible and all the amenities were gone especially the iconic water fall . Was not a pleasant experience at all probably won’t return again
- Brad (3/5): - Breakfast was good Cockroaches in room, price and construction noise
- Vicki (8/5): - Good location. Excellent price. Breakfast & staff were exceptional Bed was comfortable but bedding just average. Still being renovated. Maid service did not service our room.

- Doug (7/5): -
- Dan (2/5): Bo inte hår - Trevlig personal Hela luktade usch mitt under en renovering å tar fortfarande höga priser å deras bilder stämmer absolut inte in på hotellet nu
- Diana (5/5): Affordable and convenient - Location Needs renovation
- Michael (10/5): - Proximity to Buffalo Trace Distillery, the affordability, and the very nice breakfast. I particularly liked the unbelievably tasting sausage gravy! This might sound trivial to some, but after being in a different hotel for 10 straight days, certain Comfort Foods matter and the quality of their sausage gravy is second to none. I also loved and appreciated the help there breakfast staff gave me when it came to helping carry my food from the buffet to the table. I'm physically disabled and her help was greatly appreciated!! The wall plug had a short. It did not affect our stay, and when reported to management, they were very concerned about the issue. Because our room was one of the rooms that was yet to be renovated, we are confident the issue will be resolved during renovations.
- Rebecca (6/5): - The front desk staff during the morning and evening were really nice We called down to the front desk to ask for bedding for the pull out couch and their response was for us to come down and get it.
It’s definetly an older hotel but they are doing renovations.
- Burnell (5/5): I would wait until the remodel is complete. Location was great - Friendly staff at front desk Place was under renovation so everything was ripped up in the lobby. Lounge was closed. Breakfast was awful. Rooms were dated. Housekeeping never came and made up the room. Had to go and get myself.
- Cryssee (9/5): -
- Hilda (10/5): -
- Stephanie (10/5): I would stay again for sure! - The staff was excellent. Parking is a bit inconvenient.
- Regina (5/5): - I liked the pool My ole man broke out in hives & had a allergic reaction once we got settled into bed he's allergic to tide so assuming that's what it was
- Kari (4/5): -
- Michael (7/5): -
- Anna (7/5): Good - It was what we needed for a one night stay Needs updating
- Autumn (4/5): -
- Carol (10/5): - Nice facilities and staff was very friendly and helpful.
- tdallen45 (7/5): - I love the location and the staff where super friendly The rooms are very dated, smelled musty, the beds are very uncomfortable.

- Katelyn (8/5): -
- Carolyn (7/5): Great location. Hoping renovation is good. - Great location. Good parking. Comfortable beds. Tired looking rooms although everything is under renovation. Breakfast was meh. Cold coffee in the lobby.
- Daniel (6/5): Lots of potential, great location, felt abandoned. - Location was nice. Close to several places I wanted to visit (Buffalo Trace and a few things in the historical downtown) Felt a little abandoned. Hopefully the remodel changes its vibe.
- Debbie (8/5): They are renovating the hotel, but would stay again - Location was great! People were very friendly and helpful Problem with the heater in the room, but they came and replaced it and eventually got it working

- Roger (10/5): -
- Darryl (7/5): -
- Ballard Gentry (9/5): -
- Gregory (8/5): - Friendly & Helpful Staff The Breakfast Room is a veritable Ice Box.
A down jacket would have been in order!
- Kyle (4/5): WOOF - The staff were very friendly, and understanding. The floors in the room were sticky wet feeling, the bed was extremely uncomfortable. They have a pet policy that allows animals for a$40 charge, that includes 2 very large dogs who will bark and bark and bark while their owners stay in the room across the hall, but hey policy is policy right... I have stayed here twice and this will be my last time.
- Dwayne (6/5): A good night's stay and close to where we needed to go. - It was a good night's stay. Staff was great and the location is always nice. When we got to our room after checking in we had to listen to a dog down the hall bark nonstop for at least an hour. There was a time it stopped. Later it started again for another hour of nonstop barking. Not the ideal stay this time, but, overall not too bad.
- Holland (6/5): Ok for location, breakfast eatable at best, about froze to death - Location was good No heat in lobby, lounge or breakfast areas . Has to eat breakfast in very cold dining hall. No housekeeping and we were there 3 nights, had to get our own towels each day.
- ortiz (10/5): -
- Misty (10/5): Great location and clean. Going through some much needed renovations but very enjoyable - Great location easy to get into and safe parking garage.

- Sean (7/5): -
