Guest Reviews
- Tracy (3/5): Very disappointed. - Room was nice and spacious. Bathroom was okay. Felt like everything was too much trouble, Required early check in, and hadn’t even checked the messages to see I had requested it. Room was okay, but not up to the usual standards. Felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff which is unusual as I have had no problems before. Normally stay here once a month, but don’t think I will be returning after Wednesdays experience.
- Kevin (9/5): - Nice and friendly Not a lot really
- Martyn (9/5): Nice room. Nice bar and bar food. -
- Tom (5/5): -
- Margaret (10/5): It’s a great place and great staff - Very comfortable atmosphere Young barman gave a wine in a small glass like a sherry glass I like a wine glass
- Janet (6/5): - The knowledgeable staff polite and very helpful the room was clean and comfortable The room it was noisy very basic and need of and update and we consider not really value for money
- Steve (9/5): - reasonably comfortable bed clean good attention from house keeping. Good food with helpful staff N/A
- Preston (6/5): We enjoyed our stay and would stay again - We had to wait over 15 minutes and my husband had to find someone to take our order for breakfast. We had the big breakfast and didn't find it that large only 1sausage and 1egg.we did not think for£12.99 was value for money A LARGER BREAKFAST WOULD HAVE BEEN NIICE.WE
- Kevin (9/5): Provided all I required - Great room, well worth the cost.
- Denise (10/5): -
- christopher (10/5): Worth every penny - Clean, warm, decent food, friendly staff Nothoing
- Jacqueline (9/5): Lovely place. Breakfast cost expensive - Friendly ,helpful staff. Location Would have preferred breakfast cost to have been included.
£7.95 for eggs on toast is expensive
- Anthony (7/5): Great location for me personally, beautiful surroundings. Very friendly staff. Quite basic rooms, but more than adequate - Beautiful location, also very close to where I needed to be Very thin/uninsulated walls. I could hear every word the room next door said and their alarm as clear as mine, when they got up at 4.30 am on a Sunday !
- Babzspring (10/5): -
- jacqueline (7/5): Grand for a few nights - Good location Dated
- Katie (10/5): - Room was nice a clean
Staff was friendly
Close to shops if needed anything Nothing apart from the room next door was a little loud at 1:30am, but other than that was no problem

- Edward (7/5): Great :o) - Great stay for a short visit. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, and the pub dining facilities were very good, making it easy to relax in the evening without needing to go elsewhere. There was plenty of parking available, which made things convenient, and the check-in process was quick and straightforward. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free one-night stay. Very little to dislike, although the room decor felt slightly dated and there was a bit of noise from the pub in the evening. Nothing that affected the overall stay.

- Sharon (9/5): 1 week stay on a trip from Australia - Basic but very comfortable rooms, good value for the money paid, staff on reception were very helpful, friendly and professional. The pub served good quality food that was very reasonably priced. Great location for my needs Couldn't get WiFi in my room so had to go downstairs to the bar also feel that it would be a good idea to have a lounge for the residents
- Mark (8/5): -
- William (1/5): -
- Barry (5/5): - Nice location excellent staff The room has a smell of body odor
The carpet did not look very clean
The price of the hotel didn't match the hotel.

- David (8/5): -
- ROBERT (7/5): We only used the hotel as a base for Essex and it did exactly what we wanted .,I bit more luxury would have been well ap - The property was in the right location for our stay in Essex There is nothing that I didn’t like about the property . It was clean and tidy and the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly . But as far as the hotel was concerned , it really could do with a”makeover “ ,that would very easily bring it up to a Premier Inn quality . Breakfast was very good and cooked individually to requirements .
- wendy (9/5): - Suitable for our trip Nothing
- PENELOPE (5/5): -
- Nate (9/5): Rooms are basic nothing fancy, but they have a nice lively restaurant bar downstairs. -
- Kirsty (7/5): Would stay again - The area was close to where I needed to be Bed a bit hard but I do like a soft mattress
- Katie (7/5): Unusual set up but staff, especially the lady at breakfast, were great. - Good location. Staff very helpful. The lift was out of action of an evening (intentionally I think because of the pub) and we struggled to warm the room so it was chilly at night. Parking was also difficult as there was nothing reserved for hotel guests and the restaurant was busy.
- Anne (9/5): -
- Justin (9/5): -
- johnpaul (8/5): Perfect for work or play. - Freshly renovated. New paint and very clean everywhere. The food on the menu was exceptional for choice, Nice spot. N/A
- Elsa (8/5): Pleasant, central and friendly staff thank you - Convenient, friendly staff, plenty of coffee, tea and sugar for a few cups of coffee.
Staff is very accommodating. Clean bedding, towels and good shower. Not our first stay and will be back again. Soundproofing not the best but i survived

- Trevor (8/5): - The staff were friendly polite and helpful
- Wendy (9/5): Good stay friendly staff - Very good location
- Marion (8/5): - Ample breakfast. Clean room. Tea and coffee facilities Nothing
- Jennifer (8/5): Great comfortable stay in a reasonably priced hotel. - Stayed at the Oysterfleet many times over the years. My husband & I had a function to attend in the hotel itself, so location was extremely convenient. Staff always lovely and helpful especially Naomi on Reception.
We went for a nightcap downstairs in the bar, which was still buzzing, after our party had finished. Great lively, friendly atmosphere. Hotel has plenty of free parking and tea/coffee facilities in the room. Room sizes are very generous, large comfy bed and they are always very clean. The decor is dated but I suppose to a point is reflected in the reasonable price. Nice & quiet too for a busy hotel. Bathrooms definitely need renewing especially the chipped bath in our room and get rid of shower curtains.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Steve (9/5): -
- ellie (5/5): Served a purpose - Location The room needs a bit of love!
- William (8/5): Well worth the dosh -
- Tony (9/5): -
- Wendy (7/5): Ok for a night - It’s located for the event we were attending was perfect felt a little run down. Tv was tiny and didn’t work
- Krysia (8/5): Overnight in Canvey - Great location & power shower Decor a little tired.
- Sarah (5/5): Just about ok for a night. - Staff were very helpful.
Breakfast was great. There is no wifi in the rooms, only in the bar area. Not good for travelling with a child.
Rooms were tired and noisy, price didn’t reflect the quality of the room.
- Helen Bonsall (10/5): -
- George (8/5): -
- Sally (8/5): - Staff helped quickly when I found kettle not working in room.
Room was a good size with everything you need. Beds were comfortable. Stainless steel kitchen sink in bathroom just weird?!
Bath grouting needs a good clean
Television so small and in furthest corner of room.
Quite a lot of workmen staying at hotel which is fine but at 6am them shouting and having full on conversations for over 15 minutes in carpark to their vans isn't right. Complained in morning to reception but they didnt seem to think a problem to tell future workmen to respect other guests.
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Anne (9/5): -
- Stapleton (5/5): Would not stay in the same room again - Location Noisy and dirty.
- WENDY (8/5): -
- Karen (5/5): -
- Wendy (7/5): Would stay there again. The hotel is rather tired and in need of modernisation but very clean. - Excellent location, food very good and good value. Friendly staff. Very popular bar for locals but would have likes a quieter lounge for hotel guests….
- Julie (4/5): - Near to where we wanted to be, receptionist was helpful and polite There was a strange smell in the room, the bathroom was dated and toilet dirty, mattress kept sliding down the bed which made it uncomfortable, felt it was expensive for what it was
- Ellie-jade (4/5): - Boiler kept making a very loud noise, taps kept running and lights were flickering. Made it very hard to get a decent sleep.
- andrew (7/5): -
- Mark (8/5): -
- Simon (5/5): No WiFi no happy - Location No WiFi in room - it’s 2026!
- sharon (7/5): - The staff are lovely, the bed is comfortable. The location is ideal for us. Its not i didnt like but for £85 a night, though the room is very clean, its tired and shows some wear and tear especially in the bathroom.
- Rance (8/5): -
- ANDREW (10/5): -
- Daniel (2/5): - Rooms are very, very dated and the lights are non existent.
