- Chwee Sang (9/5): A Fantastic and Strategic Base for Exploring Chongqing - My stay at the Milky Way Way Hotel was thoroughly enjoyable, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chongqing, especially for its incredible convenience. Location & Accessibility: Excellent The location is this hotel's biggest asset. It's literally about a 3-minute walk to the Line 2 MRT station, making city travel a breeze. A key tip: the hotel is very well-known among Didi drivers, so you'll have no trouble getting picked up or dropped off. We took Line 2 directly to the Chongqing Zoo to see the pandas, which was incredibly easy. Room & Cleanliness: Very Good Our room was cleaned impeccably every day. We were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a better room upon arrival, which was a lovely welcome. The room was quiet, with no noise from the road, ensuring a good night's sleep. The only minor issue we encountered was that the bathtub drained slowly and got jammed after a bath, but it wasn't a major problem for our short stay. Amenities & Services: Thoughtful The daily complimentary two bottles of mineral water and yogurts were a very nice touch. The breakfast offered a great spread, with more Chinese dishes than Western options. My personal routine was two fried eggs, a cup of milk, some local mee and wanton, fresh fruits, and tea – it was perfect to start the day. A Hidden Gem: The Travel Agency Right next to the hotel counter, there is a travel agency. We used their services to charter a private car for 3 days to visit Fairy Mountain, Jinfo Mountain, and the Dazu Rock Carvings. The price was very reasonable. Important Note: The driver did not speak any English. To make this work, you MUST do your homework on the locations beforehand and have a WeChat account for translation and communication. It was a fantastic experience, but requires a bit of preparation.

La stanza è molto grande e molto confortevole, ci sono addirittura i probiotici per digerire l’hotpot tipico della città, acqua in abbondanza ed un frigorifero che funziona davvero, rinfrescando o, addirittura, congelando, se si vuole, la propria bevanda. Il bagno è ben accessoriato, con doccia e vasca. Se proprio devo trovare un difetto alla stanza, è la moquette. Ma si perdona facilmente, tenuto conto di tutto il resto. Il personale è molto disponibile: mi hanno dato una colazione al sacco per un’escursione in giornata a Leshan ed aiutato con l’applicazione per chiamare il taxi, quando ne ho avuto bisogno. La colazione a buffet è ricca e gustosa, con possibilità di wonton o uova cucinati al momento. Molto molto bene. Consiglio a tutti questa struttura, ma attenzione perché sulle mappe non è sempre facile da trovare. I cinesi lo chiamano “galaxy” anziché “milky way”, perchè da quello che ho capito è la traduzione più letterale del nome in cinese. Moquette in camera

The bf was typical Chinese setting and menu with chopsticks as the only cutlery (at least we got to try eating water melon with it). Luckily there was no butter served to go with the buns, otherwise… Nevertheless, the Chinese food was the typical chaofen, porridge and noodle with the complements..quite good though. At least it gave a decent meal. Just beware, no coffee for bf. Try corn or yam drink instead. The staff are not too obliging in many ways, don’t be overly expectant.

Took a day of having the ac running to get rid of smell. Very old style building. The dryer for laundry in the lobby did not dry much at all.

The hotel even had a free washer and dryer for guests to use which was a huge bonus! No issues with checking in and out. Our main issue was that sometimes it smelled smoky and we couldn't escape it. It was like someone was smoking in the next room and in the hallway and the smoke just got sucked into our room. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay here.

Free or breakfast with lot of variety to choose. Don’t have non- smoking room. Anyway hotel will perform smoke removal as requested.

- Stephen (8/5): - This is tricky: - The location is excellent, very close to the metro and to so many things within walking distance (shopping, food, sights, etc). - But the hotel is 30 years old and it really does show. They are renovating it, which is a good move, but that made it unbearable for us, with noisy drilling literally right outside our window (we could look the workers in the eye!) and in rooms nearby. Some of our party have medical conditions that were triggered by the noise. - But the hotel staff went out of their way to help us move rooms to one that was further away from the noise, actually upgrading us to a suite in the process. This was after they had already moved us once due to the strong smell of smoke in the room (quite common in China). So... would I stay there next week? Absolutely not. Not while they are in the middle of renovating. Would I stay there once the renovations were complete? Absolutely.

- Juan (9/5): Excellent location - The hotel is excellent value for money, and the location is great. The hotel is within walking distance from the Food Street and Central Plaza, and the Linjiangmen station in Line Two connects very well with the airport and train station. This hotel offers a buffet breakfast, as they mainly receive Chinese tourists, but you are in China, so make sure to enjoy their cuisine, and you will do fine. When we visited in Dec 2024, they had fried rice, noodles, dumplings, sausage, noodles station, boiled eggs, fried eggs, cereal, bread, salad and fruits, juice, black tea and coffee. Make sure to download WeChat Pay and Baidu Maps to have data; you will need it for everything. As well as to write down the name of the hotel in Chinese. It's easy to locate because the street address is bilingual, but the main sign is only in Chinese. It's a fun experience. One important thing to know is that you can actually pay with your Visa or Mastercard for the hotel on arrival. You will notice that both cards are not used in other places, but this hotel accepts them, which we find very convenient. The rooms are perfect. Some people complain that rooms are a bit old, which is part of the charm of being in China. I will happily go back to the same hotel again. Here, I'm being picky, but the only thing we didn't like was the coffee for breakfast. My wife and I enjoy strong coffee in the mornings, mainly sugary machine-made. However, there are three coffee chains just 2 minute walk from the hotel, so there is nothing to worry about if you also like your coffee strong without sugar. Another thing is that it is still common for people to smoke in close spaces in China. So you will feel a bit of a cigarette smell in the corridors, but it's all good.

- Rob (9/5): Pleasant stay in the middle of Chongqing - Very spacious room. It was great to have a coffee table and chairs to sit at for a few beers after a long day's walk. Fairly close to attractions and metro stations. Staff were friendly. A few of the features were a bit dated, but this was ok. Everything worked fine. It did take a bit of trying to get the wifi working, though.

Other than mineral water, hotel provides complimentary yogurt too. Just that there are some constructions going on near the hotel, and it continues until late night, so it might be quite disturbing to some.
- Yee (6/5): Old old hotel that is long due for renovation. - Location The noise from construction nearby, old facilities, price does not match the hotel current state. Definitely needs an upgrade. One of the cleaners keeps insisting on coming to the room when we clearly said no and put up a DND sign. She came in when we went down for breakfast. Lastly the whole place is a smoking zone.

- Jean Francois (10/5): - 24hr front desk, restaurant and cleaning staff displayed excellent service quality and professionalism. Initially planned to only stay for 2 nights with breakfast. It’s the service, comfort and cleanliness that made us stay for another 4 nights. Wanted to taste the local breakfast in the neighbourhood but opted for hotel breakfast instead until checkout. That’s thanks to staff like 刘德梅 who was obliging, courteous and professional. She was always attentive to our needs (e.g. how to operate the beverage equipment or what’s the best tasty local food of the day). Well ventilated, clean, soundproofed and spacious rooms. Definitely recommending Milky Way Hotel. It’s the staff who make the difference.

- Eduardo (10/5): Large room and great staff - Big room, I dont know if they upgraded because It seemed bigger than 25 square meters that we booked. The location is superb, close to everything and you can walk to the bridge and Hongyadong. We had a problem with wifi and a gentleman from the staff solved It right away. The staff was superb like everywhere in China right now. The price was very good for the location and the size of the rooms. The maids were very kind too. The hotel was bit outdated, but that was bot an issue for us. And sometimes in the morning the school that was ahead of the hotel made some noises but It was ok too.

- Jefry (7/5): Nearby Hongyadong & halal food - A walking distance from Linjiangmen metro station (Exit 2). Nearby to Hongyadong (Hongya Cave) and Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street. There's a small halal restaurant located in alley behind this hotel as well. Hotel name sign is in Mandarin only. It might be difficult for a non-mandarin speaker to find this hotel for the first time.

Ambiance feutrée et confortable. Le service est impeccable, grande disponibilité et amabilité du personnel. Le client est choyé et peut trouver réponse à ses besoins sans difficulté : excursions, change de monnaie, service de bagagerie, etc... Une restauration délicieuse et variée avec des plages horaires larges. Un service de ménage efficace tout en prenant en compte le respect de l'environnement et en évitant le gaspillage. Je recommande vivement pour un séjour réussi et sans souci.

- Jorge (7/5): Okey - Hotel Chongqing Room 911 Rest: The air conditioning worked well, no noise from outside. Room: Comfortable bed with two pillows of different consistencies. Spacious bathroom with a bathtub. Cleanliness: Everything was clean. WiFi: Not used. Breakfast: Oriental style, but very complete. Location: Good, with a nearby metro. Notes: Very old establishment, but well-maintained. The front desk staff do not speak English, but they try to help by translating with an app.

- Hugo (7/5): A decent stay in the city center - Convenient located in the city center, not faar from the subway station. Close to the main shopping areas. The rooms are quite old but confortable. The hotel decoration is quite old and needs some maintenance. The breakfast is poor and crowded. There is not much varieety and mostly chinese style. Not eaven a decent coffee.

- KU (8/5): - スタッフのサービスは、フロント、客室係、完璧で最高に良いと思います。お部屋のバスルームには、バスタブがついており、日本人にとって、とても嬉しい設備でした。朝食のビュッフェは、品数が多いし、味もよく、外国人も安心して食べられるお食事でした。ただ残念だったのは、エアコンが壊れていたのか、暖房が入らなかったので、とても寒い思いをしました。エアコンのスイッチを入れて暖房にしても、出てくるのは冷風だけでした。
