  Self contained and self catered two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with separate kitchen and living area. Access is separate and private to the main lodge from the rear garden. Private elevated patio with outdoor furniture, BBQ and lovely garden views. Two large bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. Bedroom 1 has an ensuite with washing machine and king bed. Bedroom 2 has its own bathroom located off the hall directly outside the bedroom. Choose a king bed OR two single beds. Well equipped kitchen with hotplate, mini oven, microwave, pod coffee machine, fridge and freezer. Fresh milk, tea, coffee, sugar and oil are provided. TV's are located in the living area and in each bedroom with complimentary access to streaming services. Breakfast is NOT included with this apartment.

We are very demanding clients, we look for the best places but it is rare for us to give a 10 rating. I would compare staying at Michael's to a Michelin star restaurant. All the amenities such as a comfortable bed, pillows, equipment were at the highest level, but that's not all - attention to detail and the atmosphere created by the owners also count. This creates a higher level of comfort. The wonderful location of the house and the garden are also important. I can fully recommend Explorers Lodge.

Our host was fabulous and the rooms were exceptionally clean and well appointed. The lounge and sunroom areas were spacious and very comfortable. Im not a fan of the soft beds that seem to be everywhere we stayed in Tasmania and the bedroom was a little bit small but the sitting areas were large and comfortable.

• Evie (10/5): Exceptional - The room was elegantly decorated, clean and comfortable, it was a great stay, we enjoyed the care and attention to detail from the owners, Michael and Roberto, who were both friendly and professional and have done a great job in making this a great place to stay as well as maintaining the picturesque surrounding garden. The chocolates and local ginger cookies were a lovely touch, as was the interesting selection of books on walks and history of the local area and board games available in the inviting sitting room. The owners prepared a delicious coffee and cooked breakfast, catering also for gluten free and lactose free needs and even provided some helpful recommendations for interesting places to visit around Hobart. Would definitely stay here again.

Cute little breakfast room overlooking the garden. Breakfast was excellent: local bacon, eggs and yoghurt, homemade jams and fruit preserves. Our room and the house were both spotlessly clean. Bathroom modern and a good size, water pressure good, plenty of towels. We had a king size bed which was supportive and fitted with a pillowy mattress topper. Wall air con & electric blanket were welcome as it was quite cold. The friendly and helpful owners, who live on site, were there when we needed them but otherwise discretely behind the scenes. There is a cosy guest lounge room with gas fire which had been lit before we arrived. There is also a guest sunroom overlooking the pretty back garden which would be a lovley place to soak up the sun in the summer. Tea & coffee facilities with fridge and fresh milk in the room. Parking on site. Close to the attractions of New Norfolk - the Agrarian Kitchen, antique stores, Saturday food market, the Bush Inn... Couldn't fault it.

I was so impressed I extended my stay for another 5 nights rather than relo to Hobart as I had originally planned. Don't skip the homemade hot breakfast (eggs are straight from the hens in the garden out back and they are wonderful...so different from store bought US grocery eggs) and there is a Continental option as well. Very clean, very comfortable beds and luxury bedding. Overall an excellent choice for a stay that will not dissapoint, Can't offer up anything here
