Guest Reviews
- Miriam (8/5): - Good value accommodation. Very basic - so no kettle in room, no shampoo etc - but you get what you pay for. Breakfast was great - although it wasn't clear where things where. I fancied cereal, but couldn't see it until I was leaving. But all well worth it for the money. Would stay again.
- Skye (6/5): - Gym was really good, accommodation was a bit too hot
- June (8/5): - I was able to get around amenities were basic but it was my base. Beautiful place.
- Paul (8/5): Scenery and accommodation stunning - Brilliant idea letting out students rooms at the summer break, beautiful settings and loads of amenities locally.
The “Scran”restaurant brilliant, tasty food and great staff and prices.
There is a shop and a chemist on grounds.
Scenery beautiful.rooms basic and comfortable.communal area for making lunch, tea etc
My only criticism would be maybe too basic rooms,no hand towels or anywhere to put your shampoo etc in shower.
Nice and peaceful accommodation I’ll be back time and again.
The reception staff friendly and efficient I’d highly recommend staying there.
Close to bridge of Allan and a beautiful hotel Meadowpark near by,also a hotel also set in university grounds brilliant stay thanks
- Mark (6/5): - my fault as i misunderstood that this was LITERALLY a college dorm room in a socialist architecture building....tiny, only one chair (plastic hard backed) a bed with a mattress that was more like a box spring, one window that only opened partially...no AC...small, tight bathroom (shower only)...spartan quarters.....never again
- Catherine (6/5): First time visitors - Accommodation fine but organisation poor - 6 people behind reception area when checking out. Queue of people waiting, clearly a busy time of day, only one person came out to the desk and couldn't help with any queries.
Black sticky patch on bathroom floor with hairs sticking out of it, very off putting, otherwise clean room. No milk sachets but no problem when I asked for some and for hair dryer. Need a system for checking the dryers back in though, otherwise how do you know who has returned what? My room details were taken when I borrowed it.
Need bigger sheets as they dont fit properly and plastic mattresses no fun in the heat.
Room and building really stuffy - air conditioning likely to be needed going forwards.
Very noisy outside- lots of loud voices but did quieten later as per the request notices.
Beautiful surroundings, safe and plenty of parking space.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay in Stirling - Was able to check in around 9pm without any difficulties, reception is manned until late. Large car park, plenty of spaces. Room clean, spacious and comfortable. Large shower. Only slight issue was a loud noise coming from the pipe work in the bathroom every few minutes, quite irritating. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great value, would recommend, would stay again.
- Lynn (10/5): What a find! Pristine room and excellent value. - Fantastic value for money. Great spacious room with ensuite shower and plenty light. Bus operates from site but we gave up waiting after 20 minutes and walked into town which took over 45 minutes. Staff friendly and helpful. On site cafe served quick and tasty pizza at reasonable prices. Perfect choice and would stay here again.
- Deborah (8/5): - It was clean and pleasant, very nice staff. But the students make so much noise talking loudly outside the building all night long every night, it's difficult to sleep.
- Kate (8/5): - Great place for the price, good facilities and cupboard space. Bathroom good. Mattress poor quality and wooden bed base creaked terribly.
- D (8/5): Stay at Willow Court - Great location, quiet with plenty of space to park & for walks. Room was clean and a reasonable size with basic but adequate facilities. Excellent value for money.
- Scott (4/5): Disappointed. - I was disappointed in my recent visit to willow Court, I have stayed before! Severe lack of small essentials, no plastic glasses to rinse, one towel, one tiny bar of soap and no floor towel for after showering. . A soap dish or tray in the shower would be good. It is very reasonably priced but an upgrade on basic essentials would help.
- Gordon (10/5): Happy Highlander - What a find !
Quiet, secluded, friendly welcoming, helpful staff, superb room, easily accessible, facilities on site, food and drink available, good breakfast choices. Easy access to the city and all the attractions in the area. I could not find a single fault and for B&B, the price was fabulous.
If you are going to be in Stirling, this is the place to stay !
Very highly recommended.
- Ianthe (10/5): Excellent - Fantastic!
- Alastair (10/5): - This is student accomodation that the university lets out of normal term time. It's a very pleasant, quiet place with a loch, walking and sports facilities. Staff are mainly students with a helpful "can do" attitude. Located 2.5 miles from Stirling and easy walking distance to Bridge of Allan which has great bars and restaurants. It's a welcome alternative to overpriced and poor hotels in Stirling. All in all, a very pleasant experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value for money. A clean, spacious room. - Very handy for my stay in Stirling. Why pay £100 a night when you can pay 1/3ed of that at Willow Court.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Ok for one night - Nice room very clean but very basic good for just the one night to get your head down my only complaint was the lack of pillows and could do with a new mattress as the springs where digging into my back
- Lisa (4/5): Double??! - The double bed was no where near a double size, the rooms we uncomfortably warm and only one set of towels were provided. Room was clean and the wifi was poor.
- Ross (2/5): Student Accommodation - Dissapointed it was made to look like a hotel, however it was actually student accommodation.
- John (6/5): Good value but can do better - Have previously stayed in the adjacent but slightly newer Juniper Court. Willow Court was similar but not as good. Reason was two fold, much noisier, there was a large and frankly ignorant and loud bus party, not the residences fault, but a disadvantage compared to next door.
Second reason was a distinct lack of pots and cutlery.
Good value cheap and clean, but last time was better so poorer review.
- Mark (8/5): Practical no frills accomodation. - Practical no frills accomodation in unused student halls type building. The room itself resembled my room when I was a university student staying in halls, but with en suite.
- Andrew (4/5): Incompetent at dealing with Hotels .com - Incompetent at dealing with Hotels .com
I paid Hotels .com before i arrived. When i arrived i was asked for payment. As it had been a 4 hour drive i thought i must not have paid so paid. When i checked my statement i found i had paid hotels.com and then again paid willow court.
i contacted Willow court 4 times to get the money back from them This took over 2 weeks.
another couple of weeks later they have just sent me an email asking to clear the outstanding debt as they cannot collect the payment from Expedia.
the debt lies with Expedia! If you cannot work with these companies then don't!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The floors were dirty. The comforter on the bed was dirty with fresh looking stain, dust, and hair.
- Kirsty (10/5): Excellent location with all the trimmings - This hall if residence provided us with everything we needed. Easy access, lovely grounds, kitchen facilities and a restaurant on site. Highly recommended for solo travellers too.
- Mark (4/5): Slow check-in - Very slow check-in. Booking was on the "Web" but not on their "System". Eventually told no space in Willow Court and was redirected to another block - Beech Court. Directed to get back in my car and given directions. No parking available at the new block, had to unload the car and then re-park back where I started and walk back. Accommodation itself is relatively new, fresh and good value for money. Bed mattresses are very basic and you feel the springs. The shower is also a little awkward. Noisy - you hear other doors slam and alarms that go off when doors opened.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I really liked it, for the price I think it was excellent value and exactly what I needed. The lift was out of order and the mattress wasn't the most comfortable but aside from that, I was really impressed with the facilities, space and cleanliness. It was very quiet and the free parking and other facilities were a bonus.
- Ann (8/5): - Excellent value for money. Really delicious breakfast with lots of choice and great service. Good parking and central base for visiting Bridge of Allan and Stirling area
- Laura (8/5): - Really enjoyed our stay, however was disappointed as our linen was not changed or room was not cleaned within the 10day stay. Staff were lovely and facilities were close and handy. Overally, would recommend.
- Gary (10/5): Right place at the right location! - Brilliant place to have as a base to tour the many historical sites around! Clean, Staff helpful, Beautiful grounds!
- S (10/5): Lucky find! - This was the best bargain! Travelling in August we were lucky enough to find this university residence offering rooms for a very good price. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the students working at the front desk. We were immediately struck by the beauty of the campus grounds and the modern, well kept building. Our room was huge and well appointed. There was a lounge/kitchen on our floor, cafe in lower level and even on-site laundry! There was a delicious breakfast buffet set up in the cafe in the morning and the chance to mingle with travellers from all over the world. We didn't have too much time for sites but Stirling Castle is well worth the visit (if continuing on to Edinburgh ask about the pass that can also be used for Edinburgh Castle and other sites), and for the hearty, the trek up to the Wallace Monument is a good workout! Note that there is a bus from the visitor centre at the base of the hill that is not well advertised. We had a wonderful dinner at Hermann's that evening, overlooking the Holy Rude. Stirling is a beautiful city and the area is full of things to see and do!
- dan (4/5): no t.v., no kettle, shower flooded the room - given a disability room, big and spacious cavern like, no t.v., two single beds, flat pillows, no kettle, very baron and unwelcoming would not recommend to anyone despite its fairly low price, miles away from the town centre, nothing there at all
- Robert (10/5): Spot On - I was very pleased with the Willow Court. My room was marvellous - spotlessly clean, well appointed but sadly no TV. The staff were very friendly and always at hand to help. The dining room was nice and the breakfast was well worth the money - freshly cooked and a nutritional delight.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice convenient location. - Good clean basic accommodation but rooms not really big enough for two guests sharing, would recommend asking for slightly more expensive studio room if staying more than a couple of nights.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Lovely little appartment, Student accomodation and at 1am -3am there was alot of noise from people getting back in.. this happened again around 6-7am when people were checking out. The bed was like sleeping on concrete and theres not a TV or Shampoo and Conditioner ... I think this is a must (had to wash hair with a bar of soap) Theres a Kitchen to cook your own meals (but this wasnt very clean.. to be expected when theres lots of people sharing the same space but its not my cup of tea)
If your looking for cheap and cheerful, your a heavy sleeper and you have a toiletry bag filled with shampoos etc then you will probably enjoy your stay here.
Location is great,
Service upon arrival was great very friendly ladies who checked me in
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very Helpful University Accommodation Booked Late - On driving tour and booking on day of stay - very easy usual booking, and then staff at Uni extremely nice and helpful. Very useful to have laundry facilities open 24 hours and food and bar open dinner and breakfast.
- Forrest (8/5): Modern, clean and easy access to great locations - The location was clean, very modern and updated, and had easy access to many locations by foot. The breakfast was a cafeteria experience. In regards to comfort they could use better pillows as we both woke up with neck issues. Otherwise, very good value for the money.
- Linda (8/5): - Excellent value for money. Clean tidy room but need to be aware to take own toiletries and hair dryer although you can get one on request. Breakfast lovely. Perfect for a short stay.
- john (8/5): Well situated, restaurant good, staff helpful. - Cannot say a lot as I only stayed one night. What else can I add.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Student type - Didnt really know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised.
Cleanliness of rooms spacious apart frm bed for two!!!!!,not against the wall but hayho cant have everything.
But be prepared no television, and noisey at weekends outside(partying i expect) .
But overall great for what we wanted it for . A meeting the nxt day on stirling
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent facilities, great value. - Surprisingly good. Room was in a flat. But really like being in a
Travelodge with lots of ameneties on hand. En-suite basic room with in room tea and coffee. A big shared kitchen that I didn't use, but that had everything you might want to make a meal. Bar/restaurant within the block that was good value though not haute cuisine. Fast wi-fi and the use of the pool and sports centre included made this a real good value stay. Parking was free at the weekend, not sure in the week. Lovely grounds for a stroll.
Would stay here again definitely.
- Laura (10/5): Great four night stay - Very good accommodation.Had 2 single beds pushed together so plenty of room.Good kitchen and bathroom.Excellent free cooked breakfast, set us up for the day.Beautiful university campus with lake, views of Wallace monument and beautiful gardens.Staff very friendly and helpful. Will recommend to friends in NZ.
- Beth (8/5): Good location for a visit to Bridge of Allen - Simple clean accommodation - very nice breakfast and fabulous service at check in and in the cafe.
- Emily (8/5): Convenient / cheap / clean but noisy - This is excellent 4 star "hotel like" accommodation..friendly reception, convenient cafe/bar, very clean and spacious room with desk / lots of cupboards and ensuite. The breakfast was great and the coffee surprisingly very drinkable.
The only down sides were:- 1) The bed was uncomfortable due to the mattrice springs and the squeeky box bed and 2) it is on a university campus so expect some noise until the early hours
Would I stay again - Yes because it is convenient / cheap / clean
- Steve (8/5): Excellent Value - Stayed here as a rest night on a trip to Northern Scotland.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Value for money accommodation - Great customer service as asked to move to quieter building and was sorted
Very hot indoors so needed windows open so a lot of noise as near car park.
air conditioning would've been good
- andrew (8/5): good student hotel - Nice spacey room. Good for the 50m pool. Nice walk around the campus. Breakfast was ok.
- Geoff (10/5): Excellent value - Very clean and convenient for Glasgow and Edinburgh
- Verified traveler (10/5): Willow Court - I stayed in a studio flat and found it to be immaculate. Only improvement I'd make is have a lamp or dimmer switch for more ambient lighting at night, and a couple of extra pillows. Can't fault it otherwise. Lots of choice for places to eat/drink in the village. I'd definitely return.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice affordable accommodations - The idea of using student suits during the summer for traveling families and individuals is an ingenious idea. The rooms were large and clean.
- shaun (8/5): Getaway - Stayed because it was cheaper than glasow even with a commute.
