• meryem (10/5): Parfait - L’ambiance de l’hostel, ils sont tres aimables et sociables, ils essaient de creer une atmosphère sympa et sociale entre les voyageurs et ca simplifie le fait de rencontrer des gens qu’on est solo. + tous les jours y’as des programmes organisés a l’hostel et les employés sont très serviables.

Limpeza, baratas na cozinha, chuveiro com agua fria, só funcionou de um lado do hostel próximo da cozinha e mesmo assim dependia do horário. Os funcionários não foram atenciosos, gritaram nos corredores após as 22h.

• YUN (10/5): - 有很大的厨房，可以自己煮东西吃，一楼有很多个房间公共区域，有钢琴！吉他，有看电视的房间，有小桌球，并且住宿楼和区域分开的，晚上没睡觉的人可以在另外一栋楼，这样也不影响其他人休息，wifi很棒不需要电话卡收短信就能链接上wifi，这真的太棒了！另外木头的楼梯有点响，住宿的人比较多
• Adrian (10/5): - Clean and comfortable. They host daily events which is great for socialising. When I was there, they had the communal BBQ. Kitchen is spacious and well equipped Bus stop right outside the hostel. The place is a maze. Huge building I'm finding new hidden corners everyday.

Everything you need is there - bathrooms, kitchen (which was also very clean) backyard for activities, nice and helpful people who work there. We really enjoyed our stay in Balmers :)

• el issi (10/5): - Amazing hostel! Everything was perfect,very clean, comfortable, and well organized. The staff was friendly and helpful, the location was great, and the atmosphere was excellent. I had a very good experience and would definitely recommend it. Great value for money!
• Delfin (9/5): - Balmers is really a world on its own, feels like a maze in the best way. Lots of common areas, a big kitchen (though usually crowded given the amount of people staying), a hammock room, a bar, and even an underground club that opens on Saturdays! Ideal for a long stay. In addition, there are activities almost every single day: BBQ, group trips, trivia…. The crew is friendly and happy to help. Loved the energy of Dario during the trivia. I also liked the convenient design of the room, the space was used efficiently despite its small size. Only con was that I found two little bugs in my room. I asked if they had a bug spray but unfortunately they didn’t have any left. Also, some guests were noisy at night even though there is a rule indicating that guests must be silent after 10 PM.
• Myfanwy (10/5): Perfection - I loved everything about the balmers hostel, I hate to sound like the rest of the reviews but it was actually perfect, everything was spotlessly clean. The hostel is social but not party and loud. I would recommend it to everyone Only downside is that you can only check after 4. There is nobody manning reception between 10-4 which I didn’t realise so I had to leave my stuff by the locker room and come back after 4.

• Jignesh (8/5): Great - Good location and storage for our luggage. We liked the games room - pool and darts. Our room was clean. Not a criticism of the hostel however for the first few nights during our stay our next door room occupants did not honour the post 10pm silence curfew which we reported to the reception. This was swiftly dealt with by the hostel staff.

• Saliou (8/5): Balmers is more of a community than a hostel! - The staff at Balmer’s were really friendly and helpful. They made it easy for me to change rooms which was nice. The dorm was pretty small and only had one window which didn’t allow for a lot of airflow.

I was solo travelling and got to meet the most amazing people and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The facilities are by far the best a hostel could offer with multiple rooms and activities on offer.

X can’t wait to visit again x It was all fab! x

• Mary Grace (10/5): I had an amazing birthday celebration with the owner (carmen) 😍😍, which just adds a special touch on my stay! - a fantastic place! It has a vibrant atmosphere with lots of activities and a lively bar, plus the staff is super friendly. The facilities are clean, and there’s a spacious kitchen and cozy common areas.

• Jasmin (9/5): Lovely hostel with a lot of history and clearly knowledge on how to serve guests. - The atmosphere was super nice showing the history of the hostel in a nice way. The hostel consistent of many buildings which was nice and at least for us the hostel was super peaceful and there was no noise after 10 p.m. The guests had a big and proper kitchen to use and there were enough of toilets and showers so no need to queue except rarely. We stayed in a private room which didn’t have any racks / hooks to hang towels or clothes. There were a lot of space for example where you entered the room (small hallway), there could have been more space to hang one’s belongings.

W obiekcie jest też dostępny ekspres do kawy, można zrobić sobie kawę na miejscu lub wziąć na wynos. Kuchnia bardzo dobrze wyposażona. ❤️

• Thomas (8/5): Espace commun très cosy & idéalement situé - Espace commun magnifique, ambiance très cosy, salon, feu ouvert, Smart tv, piano… la cuisine est aussi très bien aménagé et permet de cuisiner facilement au milieu des autres hôtes, ce qui offre des occasions d’échanger La situation à côté de l’arrêt de bus permet un accès très facile aux pistes de ski et à Interlaken West Le bâtiment J n’a pas été rénové depuis des lustres et la chambre double manque d’un rafraîchissement (tuyauterie apparente, WC hors service, vieille cuisine qui ne sert à rien, lampadaire glauque, pas d’armoire digne de ce nom). Pour le prix élevé, nous n’avons eu que le strict nécessaire.

• Tena (7/5): Really cool hostel! Will be recommending! - Really cool hostel, very big and holds up to 230-250 people! Loved the design and all of the memorabilia in the museum downstairs. It was v good value for 3 nights and was a perfect base whilst visiting the jungfrau region with the station 18 mins walk away. The hostel also host lots of events to help you meet others, sadly there was only 30 of us when I stayed so very quiet and harder to meet anyone - but I imagine if there’s more people it’ll be a vibe! Especially in summer. There’s also a bar and a nightclub in the basement which is pretty cool and keeps noise to a minimum. The staff were really nice, very friendly and there’s a WhatsApp group chat you can join by scanning a QR code at reception on the desk. The hostel has a homey vibe, with a huge kitchen to make food in, alternatively there’s two takeaway places next door or 4 mins to a Coop/store. The rooms: they have plenty of storage is under the bed in a large metal pull out basket that you can add a lock on to if you wish. Check in is pretty late, approx 4pm - would be great for those who come early to be able to grab their Interlaken cards and then at least they can make the most of the daylight as for me I was waiting for nearly 2 hours to check in and didn’t want to have to pay for travel which limited what I could do - though you can leave your luggage and come back, which is handy. Would be nice to have a system with an electronic card or where we are able to grab that without staff if there’s not enough people to do this. I also didn’t love that the bathrooms were not in the bedrooms/dorms - so you have to trek to find either the bathroom or shower as they aren’t in the same location, so just something to be aware of, same for the wash basins. Meaning if you want do dry hair, wash face or do makeup you’d have to do it in the hallway which isn’t overly ideal for noise/space (dorms can be quite low light) but that aside it wasn’t a bad experience.
