Guest Reviews
- ADAM (6/5): - Despite booking a total of 13 nights between 4 guests they would not let us off just one night as someones plans changed
- Debbie (8/5): Enjoyable, great club house. Even better golf course - Closeness to the golf course Everything in one place
- Spencer (9/5): - Bathroom, beds, cleanliness Only 1 towel per person
- Brendan (7/5): Very good - The breakfast is always great
The modern rooms are very good The only thing I dislike is the bed
When 2 singles are joined it makes it very uncomfortable on the join
Needed are some proper one piece mattresses please
- Grant (10/5): -
- Olivia (9/5): - It was really comfortable with the kids, we had a great stay. They were accomodating to our late check in time and we enjoyed our breakfast at the sporties we did drive there and walk which we don’t mind with our kids it was great weather. It was pretty noisy when a bucks party would come back late at night, walls were pretty thin and you could smell the smoke from the room when we arrived.
- Frost (7/5): -
- christina (9/5): -
- Nicole (7/5): - Clean, good layout No bedside light for reading and the walkway outside the rooms amplifies all sounds which late at night is a problem.
- Melanie (4/5): Disappointed, just a room with a bed - Kangaroos at night time were lovely Beds not made daily, only clean towels, parking is not in front of room and not secure
- Eva (8/5): Great room fantastic location & good food at the club. Loved the golf course carts could be update. - Loved the large comfortable room & bathroom overlooking the golf course Nothing
- JohnS (7/5): Good place to stay & play with a mate, but not suitable for couples. - Location was convenient. The room had no comfortable lounge(s), no table to sit at, outdoor funniture was unusable.
- Teggelove (10/5): -
- Pooria (10/5): everything was good - everything was good, cleanliness was outstanding mattresses were too soft
- Geoffrey (9/5): Weekend away - The rooms were extremely well presented, and the ease of which to travel to the club Nothing bad about the place, it'd be nice to see it in full operation again, though, as half of the place being closed down gave some of it an eyesore appearance in places
- Benn (7/5): Pretty nice - Right next to the course It was attached to a derelict building
- Ebony (6/5): Pleasant - Close to golf club Our view from the property was not pleasant facing a power pole
Thin walls, could hear other guests.
- Lynne (8/5): - The breakfast was free and absolutely delicious every day. I love the spacious feeling of the room and the large rain shower The towels and bedlinen was stained
- Diana (7/5): - Double head shower Being double charged. Our room was not ready at 2pm
- Stuart (10/5): A great place to play and stay in Barooga - Right on the Golf Course and within a few hundred metres of the Sporty’s Club
- peter (9/5): Nice rooms with comfortable beds , staff are friendly and helpfull , good club walking distance away - Had a great stay at bridges villas, nice rooms and comfy beds, you have to go down the road for check-in and breakfast, but wasn't to much of a hassle
- Rhonda (7/5): - Location. King sized bed.Walk in shower. Extra single bed in room makes it crowded.
- Ashlee (10/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): -
- michael (8/5): - Very comfortable, clean, quiet location
Helpful staff
- Baklis (6/5): - Too oisolated
- Eduardo (10/5): Truly amazing and a blessing - Unbelievable property amazing place could not fault it at all…. Answer is what didn’t I like about this property truly amazing place
- Warren (5/5): -
- Michael (10/5): We had one of best stays food exceptional staff couldn’t do enough for us - Brilliant room quiet location
- Chris (10/5): Very happy, the staff were amazing and the breakfast makes it great value - The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. The rooms were clean and had almost everything we could have needed. A microwave would be handy, especially for a couple with a toddler. A powerline outside our room spoiled the view but it was only isolated to the room we were in.
- Mohd (10/5): It’s was worth the money - Room was spacious, toilet was big. Bed and pillows were soft and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious.
- Gayathri (8/5): Very good - Price and location
- Luke (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was awesome Long way from the club
- Maree (9/5): Superb -
- Shane (7/5): had a good time. Room was good as well. If I could. i would book a room with a view. - rooms were nice and comfortable with large bathroom. We were in room 16. Rooms 15,16,17 and 18 were on the other side of the building and had no windows. Room was dark and you felt a little boxed in.
- Lorna (9/5): Superb - We were put into a room for disabled persons which l did not request nor need.
- Vicki (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (10/5): the free full breakfast menu was outstanding along with the service , outstanding - the breakfast which was free was the best breakfast we have had away in 40 + yrs , was a full breakfast consisting of eggs, bacon , toast , cappachino. juice , tomato etc all cooked to perfection and was absolutely free , great service, great chef , would rate 20 out or 10 if i could , cheers the accomodation was absolutelt perfect
- Teresa (9/5): Superb -
- Jaime (6/5): Pleasant - The weather was beautiful, and the view of the golf course was stunning. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the outdoor areas were lovely and well-maintained. The phone and internet were not operational during our stay. While I understand there was a technical issue, this significantly impacted my ability to complete work tasks while away, which was an important aspect of the trip.
- Chantelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Graeme (8/5): Comfortable - Breakfast included and great N/a
- Kerrie (8/5): excellent base for a few days golf - Have stayed at this property before it is well appointed , great bathroom and bed , courtesy bus to local club for dinner , great breakfast included This time there was no housekeeping during stay - hate wet towels and given it is a golf resort often have 2 showers a day. Only one set of towels provided per person not good if not going to be replenished each day and bed not pulled up.
- Andrew (8/5): Very close to all amenities - Neat a comfortable Commercial grade toilet paper
- Jill (8/5): The location, service and cleanliness was impeccable. Dining we thoroughly enjoyed and fine staff. - Really good and capable, polite efficient staff.
The food choices were great and so were the meals.
The dining area was clear and clean so too facilties. The rooms advertised on screen seemed to all have balconies overlooking the golf course.
We were a little disappointed to be in room 16 which was located under a breezeway instead.
Another time we would request that.
- Mike (8/5): Great - The beakfast was exceptional, however having to relocate to Sporties was a bit of an negative When booking the room, it would have been great if we had known (had the option) to pick a room with a view... even if it was offered at an additional charge
- Hannah (6/5): Bonus getting breakfast included - Great bathroom Room was a bit squishy
- Kristy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Sitanshu (10/5): Simply amazing - Team member at the golf club who checked me in was exceptional. A very welcoming service . N/A
- Stephanie (8/5): Would definitely stay again. Very easy and comfortable - The room was really nice. Loved the bathroom and the bed was comfortable! Reception staff were lovely and loved that breakfast was included that was a nice suprise ☺️ There was a few cockroaches in my room
- Ash (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Kylie (8/5): Very good -
- Eliza (9/5): Beautiful room, great view, very well set out room and bathroom - Staff were very help requested and received extra towels and milk. Loved the shower! that the reception was at a different location
- Julie (7/5): A lovely part of Victoria and great place to stay - suited to golfers - I loved the fact the room was so neat & tidy & made up perfectly even after we had left to go for a walk - very impressed. When we first arrived the volume on the TV seemed to be set at 11 and we couldnt adjust it via the remove we had to physically adjust the back of the TV - no big deal just a little thing.
Also we had a doorway leading to an adjacent room (which we hadnt booked) and the neighbours music could be heard very clearly & quite loudly. Thankfully they were great and didnt have it on too late into the night.
- Fiona (7/5): Good -
- Russell (8/5): Great, but.... - Bed was great, heating worked well and tv with full foxtel was appreciated.
Shuttle to sporties and the feeds there were top notch Check in process not near the rooms, no maps of the rooms, smoking area undercover near room entries and come on even a basic mini bar isn't hard to manage.
- Nathan (8/5): Overall was nice ! And the most decent accommodation within the area - Breakfast that was included and it was delicious
Customer service was amazing The room was facing a power pole
The reception was on the otherside making the area little scary and no life besides people living in the villa
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lyn (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (8/5): Fantastic - Room was very clean and comfortable. Great location.
- Lynn (4/5): would not return - we had been assigned to a room for disabled guest in a dungeon type room with no outlook and very little natural light
- Cooper (9/5): Superb -
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were flawless. I cannot praise them enough.
I had a huge day of travel plus my sisters wedding the night before so I was a little cranky. I checked my emails in the morning before they sent the one telling me where to check in which didn’t help my mood, but once dealing with the friendly staff I was less cranky. They let me take a meal from the restaurant back to my room even provided a steak knife knowing there wouldn’t be one in the room.
The next day I’m driving to check out when I realise I have a flat tire, my first one since starting to drive 10 years ago. I have never had to change a flat tire, I know the theory but I’m also driving 450km that day and don’t want to stuff it up. I called a RACV but they couldn’t help. I went to reception nearly in tears and the lovely lady starts calling next thing I know 2 workers come out and change the tire without hassle or judgment.
For breakfast you generally expect a pitiful buffet but it was a full meal like a you would get at a cafe. It was delicious and I definitely needed pancakes after my morning.
I cannot praise the staff highly enough. An earlier email for when to check in
- Lorna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorraine (10/5): Really enjoyed our stay. - Really lovely room
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rhonda (8/5): Very good - Big room at back of property. Shower/ bathroom spacious but no cupboards / drawers.
Quiet, serviced daily.
Includes cutlery + plates etc for 4.
Comfy King size bed. Nightly rate includes breakfast - CANNOT book a room without breakfast included. We prefer Continental beakfast. This was available but poor quality ie cornflakes, small container fresh fruit + preserved fruit.
White bread or "fruit toast" = poor quality sultana bread.
Juice was good.
- Keryn (10/5): A magnificent stay we will definitely be returning! - Easy to get to via map check in was smooth Villa was very roomy plenty of space for storing luggage, ensuite and shower was large with plenty of room The room was serviced every day very clean 100 % and the courtesy bus easily accessible all the staff were very pleasant we had a magnificent stay thank you ☺️ N/A
- Dan (10/5): Walked away very happy and looking forward to returning again. - Friendly people, clean and spacious room, quiet, easy access to parking and courtesy bus to sporties was an added bonus that made things more enjoyable.
- Adem (9/5): Superb -
- Fiona (6/5): Great venue, but staff are untrained and have limited/lousy customer service skills. We’re turned off returning afte - Lovely rooms. Housekeeping friendly and helpful. Checkin staff were rude. Asked for a payment (more than we’d originally paid), and then I had to explain we had already paid. Previously we’ve stayed and asked where to buy ice. We were told as we’re guests, we can have ice for our esky free. When we asked on this visit, person behind desk was rude, and insinuated we were lying. Apparently there is no such rule for guests.
Breakfasts each morning was inconsistent. One morning we received 2 slices of toast with our 2 eggs and bacon. Next morning, we received 1 slice of toast with 2 eggs on top plus bacon.
Mattress is obviously expensive but very soft, as are the pillows. Would prefer a medium soft/firmness and options for pillows.
The sports club itself has many lazy staff. When we arrived we tried to sit in an area where there were numerous vacant tables. All were dirty. It wasn’t busy. We had to ask for it to be cleaned.
Staff need training on how to pour drinks. Our beer was awful and I asked for ‘extra head’. The staff member had no idea how to fix this. Another member tried but was also unsuccessful. The glasses tasted like they weren’t cleaned properly.
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable and enjoyable. Nothing at all
- Kay (8/5): Good apart from the noise factor. - Location and a great breakfast. Quite noisy. We had a room that could be opened to the next room. Not very sound proof. Other guests sat on seat that was right near our door and were very loud.
- Bronwyn (9/5): Superb -
- Ruth (7/5): A nice place to come home to for the night after a busy day - Comfortabke & clean OUR AIR CONDITIONING UNIT WAS TERRIBLE, was not working well!
- Jason (7/5): Good - The room was comfortable and was good value on Booking.con although this indicated that there were no breakfast options, but we found upon check-in that a full breakfast was available. Having to check in 400 metres away from the room and only finding that out upon arrival. Evidently we were not the only ones. Also didn't like not being able to check in at 2:10 PM due to busy ness with staff member seemingly offended by me saying that check is supposed to be 2 pm onwards. The response was yes, 2 PM onwards. All rooms are full and it is taking some time to turn around. When I asked when it would be available, I was told another half an hour. The room also did not cool adequately. I happened to overhear AC repairers the next morning saying that some of the rooms would not be cooled optimally due to coolant being low.
- Shirley (9/5): immaculately presented, well appointed and peaceful. - Well appointed, clean and quiet. Saw a kangaroo and rabbit hopping around in the morning with kookaburras laughing, very peaceful and relaxing. Foxtel and breakfast included was great. Balcony chairs look beautiful but too low and hard, need cushions, so we took pillows out. Aircon struggled to compete with afternoon sun even with heavy curtains closed.
- Narine (8/5): Very good -
- Mckay (9/5): Superb -
- Matthew (9/5): Superb - Excellent spot with a great pub and food just 1 min away….loved my stay will be back Nothing
- Jo (7/5): Good -
- Vanda (8/5): Loved our stay and will definitely be back. - Breakfast was really lovely and plenty enough to choose from. I didn't think to book the golf package so will know better next time as we paid separately for golf.
- Donna (6/5): Wasn’t what I thought for the price was clean and neat just never got a good night sleep for the price - Didn’t like that the sliding door didn’t lock and there was a power pole right in front of the deck was very noisy could hear people talking loud and we couldn’t get warm no instructions on how to use the controls was ok but not for the price
- Matthew (8/5): Very good - Free breakfast
- Warwick (5/5): Passable - When we arrived it was made up as a twin despite booking a double. They originally said the housekeeping staff had left for the day, so could we wait until tomorrow. When I said no, they sent people over who rectified it in about 45 mins, crisi averted, but shouldn't have happened in the first place
- Tan (8/5): Clean and modern and good for golf - Convenient for golf, the staff were good and addressed our concerns promptly Sporties has moved now so there isn’t any facilities on site.
- Ash (3/5): Nil - Location to golf Same
- Martine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Toni (5/5): Passable - Beds, really uncomfortable.
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Lovern (8/5): Great stay - Spacious, very clean. The power to deter the bugs. It was annoying!
- Kathryn (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (6/5): It was ok. Will stay elsewhere next time. - The beds were super comfortable. It was a quiet location. It felt deserted and lacked atmosphere. There was no information on the availability of services around the area.
I was told nothing about the services when I checked in. I expected a lot more service for the price.
We were advised or a power outage on the Sunday but were not offered a complimentary breakfast or coffee etc for the inconvenience. I had to check out as I could not even boil the kettle.
Overall quite disappointing.
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional - Probably the newest accomodation option in Barooga. It’s a shame the original golf clubhouse is closed as it feels a little bit like a ghost town. Doesn’t affect the hotel rooms but the empty clubhouse feels odd.
- Giovanna (7/5): Good - Location was great, could hear everything from the room next door
- David (9/5): Nice modern place to stay with all the luxury you need. - Nice views, quiet and modern place. The accommodation is a short drive from the club house. A courtesy bus is available.
- June (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (9/5): Superb - very clean and new, nice view from the balcony
