• cderum (9/5): We hope to visit again in the future and spend more time at these charming cottages in Calistoga. - Good coffee, excellent continental breakfast with very good choices of fresh fruit and fresh bakery goods.They were very kind to provide us with extra 1/2 & !/2 when we requested it. We loved the charming way they delivered our breakfast on time and left the basket of goodies in a lovely little "Bird House" on the front porch. Delightful!! Nothing we can think of.

• Jill (7/5): Quiet and Lovely surroundings but wont be returning for the price we paid due to the downfalls - VERY Quiet and Serene- what we were looking for in a getaway from the city- Location to wineries and downtown was perfect. Bed was pretty comfy and continental breakfast was good Musty smell immediately upon entering. Kate (the owner?) was not openly friendly upon meeting... As I saw in previous reviews there are gross stains on the chairs- we did not feel comfortable sitting without placing the blanket or robes down. (I can provide pics) Shower pressure is a D+.. Paying this price for a room, these set backs are unacceptable. Also usually when you do pay this price for a room (in wine country)- a bottle of local wine is included -at least in my experience- not in this case

• Gerry (10/5): Relaxing Stay - This is a perfect place to stay--home-like and away from the hustle and bustle of hotels. The breakfast delivered to the cottage was a lovely touch and could be enjoyed on the deck in front. The staff was friendly, helpful and available for special requests. Linens and towels are not changed daily unless requested. The large overstuffed chairs in the sitting area are not the most comfortable nor situated to view TV, but if that is not your intent for staying there, disregard that concern. I would rate it overall as a good place to stay.

Would definit - The property was incredibly clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. It was quiet and quaint, and the inn keeper was super accommodating. Not to mention the yummy treats and juice that were dropped off each morning. Yummy!!! We weren’t too much of a fan of how out-of-the-way it was from major wineries, and shopping and restaurants.

We really enjoyed the ambiance (and a few of the figs growing on a tree outside our door). The morning continental breakfast was lovely. The chair covers on the interior comfy chairs were permanently stained and my wife wouldn't sit on it without putting a spare blanket over it. I sat on mine and it was very comfortable. She thinks they should be replaced if they can no longer look 'clean'. The shower could have had more pressure and labeling for hot and cold - it was the opposite of what we normally expect, so we wasted a lot of water waiting for it to warm up before trying something else.

• Zalise (9/5): A cozy and peaceful getaway in a charming cottage. - Aurora Park Cottages is charming. Our cottage was very clean and very quiet. Nestled among nature. The bed was extremely comfortable. I loved the good French Roast Coffee, and the individually wrapped butter/lemon cookies were a nice touch for a late-night snack. The continental breakfast was very good: juice, two large pastries, and watermelon mixed with blueberries. I wanted more! There was nothing not to like. Our cottage had two porches, so I sunbathed on one side of the cottage, while my husband sat in the shade on the front porch, working on his computer.

There was some giveway to the bathroom floor suggesting an issue with the substructure of the floor. Kate was a very pleasant and attentive manager. The morning continental breakfasts that came in a basket were a very nice touch. We used the Calistoga Shuttle while we were there. Most of the town appears to be closed on Tuesdays this time of year.

We walked to town, and enjoyed the walk.

• Emily (8/5): Cute and fairly affordable stay in retro lodgings not too far from downtown Calistoga - The location is off the main route that goes by Calistoga, which means that one either has to cross that fairly high traffic road to walk into town or to use one's car (we always prefer walking). It's not far, but it's not quite a nice as staying right inside town and near the main business area. Like so many Calistoga lodgings, this was once a standard motel and has been spiffed up. But it has some cute original features--including birdhouses, cute delivery boxes that are miniatures of the cabins, Christmas lights on each cabin for the holidays--and the spiffing up does push it beyond the standard motel: there are soft robes and some complimentary goodies. Breakfast arrives in a cute basket and it is also, without being amazing (pastries are so-so) a cut above, insofar as there is fresh cut fruit and juice. Individual cabins are quiet, and one doesn't hear any road noise. The staff was kind: a cleaning lady gave my husband a roll of paper towels when we had to wash down our muddy bicycles after a long ride, and the owner, though we didn't see much of her, was kind enough to phone us and let us know that the room was available earlier than check-in time. The rooms are not made up between nights. The explanation is Covid protocol. Perhaps someone who works there has a compromised immune system, but we thought that this was a bit odd in the days of high quality vaccines and masks, That said, my husband has a compromised immune system himself, so we know what it's like to get Covid easily. We just thought that it wouldn't be great to have a long stay with no cleaning service, and it makes it into less of a real hotel experience and more like renting an apartment (without a kitchen, of course). Fresh towels can be provided upon asking, apparently, but we didn't need any. The coffee is also so-so and one has to brew oneself in the room. That means no milk but just creamers for those who want it.
