• Emma Jane (7/5): Comfortable, convenient and friendly. - The bed was incredibly comfortable! Close to everything and the manager was lovely. The shower, had to hold the showerhead the whole time while showering which isnt ideal. And smokers can sit outside their rooms and smoke (I am non smoker)

Condition of the room was average, ripped carpet and dented door. No room service provided during the 6x night stay. Other than fresh towels and toiletries. Great Great staff tho !

The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever had at a motel or hotel at an.y level. Room size was great and the air-con was set at an ideal temp. Modern TV but we never used it. The only downside is that, due to its age, the bathroom is small by comparison to the more modern offerings - small price to pay. At the current price scale, this has to be the best value anywhere. Free parking as well Nothing really - but refer to comment above

• Catherine (5/5): I was glad to leave. - Car at door parking is convenient (though be aware that some areas of the complex are 2 storey, so let them know your preference for a ground floor room if you want that). Very close to Aspley Hypermarket which has a wide range of stores. Honestly, the male on reception could smile and be a bit more welcoming. The split system air-conditioning in Room 7, despite having a new shiny appearance DID NOT COOL, and I was able to get moved to Room 17 where the air conditioner DID work. Guests are allowed to smoke on walkways outside the room, but I was fortunate nobody did near me, so I was able to throw open the glass sliding door and air the room a bit. There was one of the small German cockroaches in the bathroom, but I think it had just come up the drain. I'm not a huge fan of shower curtains. It is obvious the motel is part of the Qld government homeless scheme which offers homeless people free nights accommodation. These people can be a bit rough looking and double check you've locked your car. One of them two doors up from me was swearing loudly to an associate on his mobile phone which made the immediate environment a bit uncomfortable.

Close to shopping, eating areas and main roads The refrigerator could be changed as there was rust on the outside and the ironing board is definitely up for a change

The owner/manager has quite obviously put a lot of work into maintaining the property and keeping it tidy. Housekeeping kept the rooms clean and well stocked with soap and towels. Safe and secure in a nice residential neighborhood. Traffic noise in the morning. A car would be needed to get around.

The rooms was suffocated at first we entered, feels like have closed for the long time. Would be great if they open it during the day and turn the fan on, so the air circulates and it won’t suffocate and stinks a bit. It would be great if they also have flyscreen door also.

• Janneke (7/5): Descent motel - Good motel. Despite having lots of rooms, there wasn’t too much noise. You can walk to Outback Steakhouse and The Crepe Cafe. When we entered the room, there was a terrible smell of bleach, which gets you by the throat. Since the fan in the bathroom wasn’t wirking, that smell stayed.

• Jan (9/5): This motel was selected because of the location but proved a great choice. - We had a spacious unit with table and chairs and a comfy couch, great facilities for a 3 night stay. The only thing lacking is a small sink, it’s always difficult washing dishes in hand basin in bathroom.
