Guest Reviews
- James (10/5): - Great service. Friendly staff.
- ROSAL (10/5): - Soledad Suites is an excellent hotel yet reasonably priced. Coupled with very welcoming and friendly staff members with their efficient service and its central location, this hotel is highly recommended for everyone’s travel needs.
- Gerald (8/5): Pleasant stay this time. - Much improved experience than from last time. The room was fine, apart from a slightly noisy aircon unit.
My 2 star review last time was due to staff members in the restaurant continually using their phones to listen to social media drivel at a high volume. On this occasion, the staff were attentive, with no phones being used (or silent if they were), which is then none of my business.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Anu ba? - we got transferred to another hotel upon atrrival due to that it was already fullybooked even after we had the recieved the confirmation in email and in app and sms
- Gerald (4/5): 2 stars lost because of restaurant noise - Two stays here totalling 4 nights. Room clean and sizeable, breakfast fine to start the day. Early checkin much appreciated after typhoon cancelled my ferry. Staff generally helpful, but I’ve marked the hotel down a couple of stars because of the following:
1. Non-stop Xmas music playing on a loop in the restaurant, that’s why I didn’t eat there apart from breakfast; and
2. The hotel had few guests while I was there, so staff regularly had their phones blaring out at a high level. On my last morning I had to finish my breakfast in my room as the racket was unbelievable. I brought this to the attention of the staff members doing it; they just carried on. Well, carry on doing this and you’ll have even fewer customers!
- Jenna (10/5): - Very friendly staff, easy check in. They picked us up from the port and dropped us back for free which was really nice. Good water pressure and ac worked well.
- Josephine (8/5): - Cleanliness
- Aussie_Adventurer47 (8/5): Great Central Location - Tourist Friendly - I have stayed at this hotel many times and to be honest is my preferred hotel in Bohol! It has a great café/Restaurant that has good western and Filipino meals, breakfast is included with your room, and great cappuccinos.
I have travelled all over the Philippines and the world, and think for the price this hotel is good! I have pretty high standards being from Australia, and yes the rooms are basic, but they are clean, and comfortable.
Very safe as they have 24 hour armed security guard..
- karkarrr (8/5): Comfort in the middle of a pandemic - I have stayed here before in 2016 for a night. I didn't write a review coz it was more for sleeping.
However, I'm on my 10th day of quarantine (I went to Cebu for a day and Bohol requires a 14-day quarantine whenever you come back. I have no comment in that asinine protocol), and I have 4 more to go.
Although we are confined in the room, I have been sleeping well. The bed's comfortable, staff doesn't make you feel at ease and cater to your requests as much as they're allowed, and the food is great and affordable.
I guess one of the best things, truly, is the hospitality of the staff. Their reception staff are always courteous and accommodating, which is such a needed vibe when you're stuck without human interaction for 2 weeks.
The only downside is the WiFi connection. It's on and off, and you can't use it in bed, coz the bathroom wall (I think) interferes with the connectivity.
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Aimee (10/5): A spacious, clean and quiet room - A spacious and clean room in a quiet location, although very near the centre of Tagbilaran. Lovely bathroom. Wifi in room... although not consistently.
Good breakfast cooked to order and real coffee.
Friendly and helpful staff, helped me to book a driver and tickets.
5 minutes walk to various restaurants, shops etc.
- norman (10/5): Centrally located hotel In the heart of tagbilaran - Good central location in the middle of tagbilaran city. Close to malls, restaurants and the port. They pick you up at the airport for a nominal fee and they communicate real well. Breakfast has an excellent and yummy collection. Will stay there again
- evelyncJ5731UX (8/5): Clean room - Decent prices! Amenities Safety boxes, kettle with coffee, bathrobe hair dryer Tv decent size refrigerator, the room was clean 24hrs security guard and the breakfast was yummy we was satisfied definitely we will be back again next year hopefully.
- Zeresh (10/5): - Had a very pleasant stay. :) very friendly, accomodating and helpful staff. Food was average and you can also get food from nearby restaurants & fast food chains. The housekeeping was very consistent. They clean your room every single day and they do it very well!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very clean and comfortable room. service was excellent. onsite restaurant was very good.
- Jon (10/5): - We’ve stayed at Soledad 4 times in the past 12 months. Friendly staff. Great egg, ham/bacon, and toast breakfast. Close to plenty of good restaurants and shopping. Soledad is farther away now (Jan 2019) since Bohol airport is now in Panglao instead of Tagbilaran. Either way, the hotel satisfies our needs. Will be back.
- 894tinm (8/5): Very very good for the money 💴 - Im currently in room 209! This place is very very satisfactory! The staff warm friendly and extremely plight! The room experience is amazing cozy and the beds and pillows very Comfortable! For the price you could not go wrong tbh. The food is not amazing but ok. Just ok all in all would I stay here again. 100%. Thankyou guys keep up the good work. Ronald Manchester........
- Neil (10/5): - I found the customer service here extremely high, much better than i would have expected for a hotel of this price. It was like checking into a 5 star hotel! The door man insisted on carrying my suitcase, and the receptionist was very friendly and professional. The room was nice and well equipped. Breakfast, which was included in the room rate, was good. They also provide a complimentary shuttle service to the ports. This hotel exceeded my expectations by quite a lot!
- Tony (10/5): - The people who work there is very nice and kind and I will like to visit stay at the hotel my next vacation
- Dokirona (6/5): Near to a good restaurant... - Rooms are not that big...it is an old hotel...water in the shower are so strong...wifi connections are slow...they serve a plated breakfast...the one who ironed my clothes are not well trained...They have free airport transfer...staffs are very accomodating.
- 46nielm (8/5): Cozy as Home - The amenities closely resembles a cozy townhouse. Makes you feel that the whole stay has a homy feeling in it. The inside architecture were minimalistic, space-wise, and well-lightened. Kudos to the management.
- Divina (10/5): - nice, peaceful but more better if you put more necessities in the bathroom
- Robert (8/5): I was satisfied given the price. - The shower needs some improvement.
The service was very good.
There is no pool.
- Robert (10/5): On a scale of 1 to 10, I give an 8. - The food was OK. The service was superior. The cleaniness was OK.
- drewfernandes (10/5): Bang for the buck! - Clean rooms at decent prices and surprisingly good food.
A bit off the main road, but great overall. Cynthia the manager was truly helpful, and the choices at in-room dining were surprisingly diverse.
- pthreemech (10/5): Super clean rooms/very courteous staff - Pros:
-very cheap rates but 5 star amenities and service.
- super clean and spacious rooms
-extremely friendly and courteous staff
-quick laundry turnaround - no xtra charges
- pickup and dropoff at airport or ferry port -free
-excellent food at restaurant downstairs with cheap, cheap food
-convenience store around the corner
-one block from mall
-centrally located with lots of stores within a block
-plenty of public transportation right outside the hotel
-quiet, away from the main road
Cons:
-a few blocks away from the beaches
-a block away from the main street
- jqfloren (8/5): Accommodating and Accessible - The location was great for me because I personally want to stay somewhere in the city and at the same time away from the bustling streets. Across the street was the ticketing office for Lite Shipping so it was convenient for us to book a ticket. I loved the idea that they had a clearbook filled with information about Bohol (History, Tourist Spots, Maps, etc.).
- logan (8/5): Close to town, good value for money - Better than other places I stayed in town. It's not for the elite but very acceptable for the price. Don't regret staying here
- salemnobody (8/5): They could not be more accommodating. - I booked with booking.com. There are many types of rooms at different prices. I chose the Business Suite (22 sq. m.), the cheapest room at PHP 2000. It's the same price IF U walk in, man. My room comes with a free breakfast; eggs, bacon or ham, 2 pieces of toast, fruit & coffee or tea; 1 cup. The room has; air-con, free local calls on telephone, double bed, closet, nice size desk, mini-fridge that works, in room coffee/tea pot, flat screen TV with 75 channels (listed in brochure) and > 30 are in English. They accept all major credit cards. The bathroom has; hot water, tissue, soap, shampoo packet & towels. It's a nice room with a nice brochure explaining; maps, other hotels, sights, travel agencies, info, festivals, restaurants+++. They have a restaurant too. It's a great place, in town, PHP 50 from the pier to hotel by tricycle. Don't forget to read the good Christian books in your room. I have The Purpose Driven Life by Rickie Warren & Good News New Testament with Psalms by God.
They are very helpful; they booked a ticket on a ferry & will take me there = NO charge. They could not be more accommodating.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Friendly staff, good location. - Very nice hotel, would definitely stay here again. Wish I discovered this hotel sooner.
- annews814 (10/5): 2 Thumbs Up! - The hotel staff were very accommodating. From the pick up from the airport til we checked out, we could not find anything negative to say about Soledad. Their breakfast meals were delicious! Their travel and tours counterpart was easy to deal with. They had a good and patient driver. The rooms were clean and spacious. Wifi connection was good. If you prefer to stay in the capital city of Tagbilaran, I highly recommend Soledad suites.
- trainer_2015 (10/5): Small yet Beautiful - Located near at the heart of Tagbilaran City, Soledad Suites is perfect place to stay. It is quite, clean and has the services tourists would need. It has a massage area, (the blind masseur is great!), souvenir shop and travel agency. The rooms are very clean and complete with amenities. The staff and crew are very kind and accommodating. I had trainings conducted in Soledad, it is always my first choice. The food taste great, especially their snacks which are native delicacies. Ohhhh I miss their bibingka and hot choco, its the best! I highly recommend Soledad Suites for training and for tourists to stay!👍
- jdc0607 (8/5): Wonderful and helpful hotel staffs - Stayed overnight for a business presentation in TAG. The location was 20min drive from the airport and 15min drive to port area.
After or presentation, we head back to the hotel and because of their comfy beds and room, my superior and i enjoyed our chit chats and forgot to take our dinner.
The front desk helped us where to eat and gave us recommendations where can we get a good massage.
Breakfast was okay but has limited choices.
The guys who mans airport transfers were cool and friendly too.
Great for business travelers.
- Mark (6/5): - Stayed a few nights at the Soledad Suites before heading to Panglao. The free breakfast in the morning was good, nothing special. The hotel is located near so restaurants and a couple malls and a grocery store. If you want to go anywhere else you will need a trike. The free pickup at the boat was great and they were able to work with us on some last minute changes to our schedule.
- smalltravellingwoman (8/5): Simple, basic clean hotel. Good food. Friendly staff. - This is another hotel I stay in for work. It's very near the airport and the government offices in Tagbilaran City. I like this hotel. It's small but clean, with good-sized rooms. It's also really cheap, around P1,500.00 or $35.00 per night. I don't really know why people expect a pool, gym or some other facility for that price. It's not like this hotel has claimed to have any of them.
The hotel has limited wi-fi access. You can only use it at the reception area or at the restaurant downstairs. I don't really mind this since I'm told about it from the start. Plus, the restaurant/coffee shop serves good food, coffee and pastries so I don't really mind working there. The Vongole and cookies are great.
The hotel provides free hotel transfers too. Well, I'm not sure if the hotel provides that to all guests or just those that stay often. Anyway, the driver that usually drives me to the airport, like the rest of the staff, is nice and helpful. That's actually the best part - the staff. They are very friendly and attentive, better than most hotels I've stayed in. They smile like they're really happy to see you or help you.
- amirh1649 (4/5): what a ripoff! - the hotel has no swimming pool the wifi has a poor signal and you dont have internet in the rooms our shower was cold and we only got one towel there was two power off during the night and the power in the was depended on your key but the room was clean and nice the hotel is very quiet and there is no beach near the hotel the location is poor you need to take a tricycle and drive half an hour to get to alona beach the only upside is that its close to the pier and airport
- Jerome (10/5): - It was very great , nice breakfast
- Chey1880 (8/5): You got the best hotel staff in here! - + excellent service
+ wonderful staff (felt like I was in a 5-stars hotel!)
+ great location
+ has a 24-hr security guard who opens the door for you
+ has a lift even though it has only 3 floors
+ shuttle service to and from the pier and airport
+ lots of cable channels to choose from
+ affordable. We always stay at Bohol Tropics but I wanted to try this place because of the reviews. You get to pay Php1,000 less & no need to pay a double fare (as Bohol Tropics is farther). You got better service and staff at Soledad.
- a bit noisy, as the hotel is in a corner. I find the rooms along Jacinto Borja St to be quieter than the ones along M Parras St. The further your room is from the corner streets, the better. I slept ok, though but my husband certainly would be disturbed. A pair of earplugs should help...
- only 3 breakfast options: Filipino, American and continental. What about for those who are more health conscious, and those staying for 5 days or so? It gets a bit boring eating the same thing. Consider cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit juice, a fruit, eggs and salad, for example.
- wi-fi connection not stable and not as strong at times - but just request the reception and they will reset it for you
- the mattress was a bit hard but I slept fine
- the hotel's not new but is clean
- manilabuddy (8/5): Cozy Simple Hotel - Room is okay in size. Aircon is very good. Staff and cafe people are very nice. They have basic toiletries. The buttered chicken is indeed delicious and big serving. There are lots of tricycle for hire. It's a basic hotel when you are mostly out on tours. They accept credit card mode of payment. Check in is fast and they allow early check in. They have elevator.
However, there's no bidet.
- Nielioan (8/5): sweet suites.... - had a pleasant stay but when i requested for an extra pillow, there was no spare available. food was ok especially their danggit & dilis during breakfast. their rooms are neat & tidy but the shower tiles are slippery. it has a strategic location because it's proximal to every service center. very good hotel as a whole.
- rpyap (10/5): Value for money in the heart of Tagbilaran City - The room I stayed in was spacious with a 32inch LCD TV, cable connection and free wifi. The twin beds and pillows were ultra comfy and I slept like a baby during my overnight stay. The toiletries provided were minimal though with only bath soap and shampoo, but overall, the bathroom was very clean and had clean towels, hot water as well as service rubber slippers. If only they could have provided a hairdryer for all the guests, then it would have been perfect. I loved the fact that they had free airport and pier transfers for all their guests as well as free breakfast included in the room price (choice of Filipino, Continental and American Breakfast). Location-wise, this hotel is in the heart of Tagbilaran City and is very accessible, especially for business travellers; I would come back to stay in this hotel again as well as recommend this to all my friends and co-workers. By the way, we ordered buttered chicken in their restaurant for dinner and was pleasantly surprised that the P 200 platter contained 12 pieces of tender juicy delicious fried chicken. Take that Jollibee!!!
- Tad_Kanda (10/5): If I visit downtown Tagbilaran again, I will chose again. - There are not so many hotels in downtown Tagbilaran unlike Panglao. This is good choice, I think. The room is enough comfortable. The restaurant on 1st floor is quite good. In addition they can pick up us at the boat terminal freely. If I visit downtown Tagbilaran again, I will chose again.
