• Daniel (10/5): - Attractive, old-fashioned, quiet country home. Completely clean and spacious. Warm, friendly host. Nice available storage space, ventilation and locks. Received soap, incest repellent, toilet tissue, drinking water and clean towels regularly. Good AC and fan in the room. Bathing wasn't so fun; no working shower nor warm water. It's hard to find food as a foreigner. Swiggy is clueless and the chow halls/diners and grocery are a brisk walk up hill. In addition to the iffy food storage and cooking space. Not business friendly; nowhere comfortable to use a laptop. This is a nice place to get stuck with your partner. Nothing else really. But I still really liked it here solo, in addition to other set backs.

• Liubov (9/5): A clean, welcoming, and affordable place to stay, surrounded by friendly people and beautiful nature - I really liked the hotel and the hospitable hosts. It’s a great place where I was able to relax. There is hot water, and everything is very clean. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for an affordable weekend stay. The people in the area are very friendly. Plus, there are beautiful cliffs and a park nearby, which make for a lovely atmosphere. The hotel is about a 12-minute walk from the beach, and the way there leads through narrow streets. Also, there is quite a bit of litter in the area (though not in the house itself). However, this seems to be common throughout the state and is considered normal here.
• Jana (10/5): wonderful - It’s a wonderful place, hidden in the green. the owner is lovely and his mum even more, her masala tea is delicious. the place is very clean, there’s a kitchen and hot shower. near to the most beautiful beach and close to a couple of beach restaurants. There are yoga mats and a lovely terrace and also a little library. Highly recommended! thank you so much!

• Narasimhan (8/5): Very good - very near to the beach but quiet enough for a stay with family. The host was good and the house was maintained well with clean beds/rooms/common places. The place also has a spa/massage centre which makes it complete Hot water for shower was a problem. The owner told us that there were some issues with the geyser/solar and he had to get it fixed. Especially when you are back from a swim/play at the beach or a good massage, you would need a good hot water shower which was missing.
• Gail (7/5): Clean and comfortable. 5 mins walk to quiet beach which has couple of restaurants for food/ drink. Got charged 500 - Lovely house . Quiet location - few mins walk to a beach . Away from main tourist beach . Access to 3 local restaurants with a bit of a walk . House was clean and comfortable advertised as Ayurvedic and yoga homestay but there is nothing Ayurvedic or yoga about the house - just a few mats rolled up. Owner signed us in and then left - did not mention anything about the communal kitchen / how to get a drink / anything about local area / where restaurants are / breakfast - they don’t do but says if we want he can make Kerala breakfast . House clean and functional for a couple of nights stay . Area Bit too quiet / residential for us .
• Paul (9/5): Good value for money! - Clean upstairs room with AC. Beach is a short walk away. Not in the crowded area by lighthouse beach (I consider this a plus).
• Andrew (9/5): Superb - Impeccably clean, comfortable, and local. Guesthouse set in a forest of palms a short walk from the beaches and rocks of the nearby bay. Manoj was very helpful, and his family served simple, delicious, and very welcome Keralan breakfasts. Comfortable bed, nice linens, small and basic bathroom but fine. A lovely choice if you want a quieter stay in the area. A little refurbishment, and new lightbulbs would be a recommendation.

• Jess (6/5): Nice end of the beach, but there are better options. - I like that you can walk within a few minutes to a lovely chilled beach and restaurants. I would stay this end of Kovalam but not here. The room had issues, I understand you get what you pay for but this was lacking. We had various issues and we talked to the owner at the end but he didn’t seem interested. We have been away for over a month staying in simple accommodation and this is the worst experience. By the way we were downstairs (to the front) - maybe upstairs is better. But this isn’t a Homestay - there is no homeliness. There is no Ayurvedic. It’s a basic room.

• Cave (10/5): Lovely Stay - Really friendly, helpful host. Beautiful property with a big bedroom, option of A/C for a small extra fee per day, laundry at a reasonable price. The property was impeccably clean and in a super location, only 5 minutes walk away from Grove beach (once you know the shortcut through Ali's restaurant). Nothing we didn't like, but just as an idea for the host - an outdoor shower / hose would be good so that you could wash all the sand off your body before entering the property.
• Ruth (10/5): Perfect quiet place away from the hustle and bustle with monkeys and palm tress - It was in a peaceful rural location which was absolutely perfect. A shirt 5 minute walk to the beach, take the shirt cut through Ali’s kitchen! The room was comfy and clean, we stayed three nights. There is a little shop around the corner and she sold everything! We are at Curry Leaf on the beach which was excellent.

• Alla (10/5): Great value, comfortable, authentic, and wonderful energy! - Lovely homestay in an authentic part of Kovalam. I originally wanted to stay at the Lighthouse beach but due to the lack of choice, opted for this property. I am so glad that I did! A lot more authentic and next to a very quiet and beautiful beach. However if you would like to walk to the Lighthouse beach it only takes 15 minutes. Ganesh homestay is run by lovely English speaking young gentleman and his mother. They were very welcoming and accommodating. He also arranged a taxi pick up for me at a very reasonable rate. The property has a nice balcony surrounded my tropical trees. I am also grateful that they allowed me to check-in early, which meant a lot after a long flight. Do not hesitate to book. I did not try, some very happy guests stayed there specifically for the Ayurvedic treatments and yoga that Ganesh homestay offers. As a solo traveler I felt very safe to stay there. Tip: ask the host for the adaptor straightaway as his electric sockets don’t hold western adaptors. Once I asked, a different more suitable adaptor was provided within a minute. Host’s mum makes delicious breakfast at the very reasonable price! Nothing , as I think this property provides a great value accommodation:- great price and good energy!

• Jenny (8/5): Für den Preis und die Lage super! - Nettes, familiär geführtes Hotel in Strandnähe (ca. 5min Fußweg ). Leider funktionierte unsere Klimaanlage nicht richtig, was anscheinend auch in anderen Zimmern ein Problem gewesen ist. Roomservice gab es die ganzen 5 Tage nicht, aber ansonsten alles sehr sauber im Haus.
• Magnus (10/5): Sweet house, nice staff - Ganesh house homestay is an excellent place to stay if you want to be at a place a bit away from the biggest beach and commercial spots at Kovalam. It's close to a smaller beach called Grow, and there are a few restaurants nearby that are very nice. The house offers complimentary water and you have access to the kitchen including fridge/freezer. We had planned to stay at Ganesh for three days, but only stayed for one day and a half. This, however, had nothing to do with either the house or Ganesh, who is a lovely host and super friendly. We simply got an offer to check in two days early at the next hotel we were staying at further down south in Kovalam for free, since our room had become available, so we decided to shorten our stay at Grow beach and head on south. I would gladly recommend Ganesh house home stay. It's comfortable, homey and clean - and the wifi is stable.
• Becky (8/5): Really good spot - I stayed at the Ganesh House for a few days this past June. I found he place to be very comfortable. Manoj, the manager was extremely helpful and accommodating. I hadn't been to Kovalum Beach in years so it was great having his help and advice. The rooms are of really good value. They're clean and spacious. The wifi worked well. The home is beautiful with different areas to lounge.
