- Kimani (2/5): Nasty motel, nasty staff - The staff and hotel are ghetto, the rooms are dirty. Everybody there is drunk all day and harass the guests at night that is the first motel/hotel that I’ve ever been to that. I see staff clean while drunken and drugging and then sit outside all day with beer, cans, liquor bottles, and make noise till empty hours of night. The sheets are dirty. The towels are filthy. You cannot take a shower and use the towels and overall, there was no professional there to offer any courtesy or any professionalism if you don’t want to lose your money and be upset and be dirty and not have a comfortable bed to sleep in or a good bathroom to bathe then then go there if you want to feel like you are staying somewhere decent find somewhere decent the staff verbatim Lee told me that it was not a five star hotel and trust me it’s not even a half a star

Our neighbor in the next room has a terrible smokers cough and a steady stream of male visitor that leave the trucks running and talk loud. The plus side is we learned all the juicy gossip about Wells, ME lol.

- Lisa (4/5): - Pool was locked, staff staying in a room a few doors down were smoking pot causing the whole area to smell, the rooms were tiny barely enough room to sit on the toliet, most staff would ignore when trying to get their attention.
- Cheryl (8/5): - Very clean and check in was great. It's a motel. No frills. We had a family cottage. It was 2 rooms; queen bed in one and bunk bed and twin in the other. The door knob to get in is very wobbly, not secure. There are only a couple of oulets. Had to plug phone in bathroom outlet, and had to leave the light on for power. No TV in the 'kids' bedroom. No sitting area, so we had to just all sit on the bed to watch TV. Not very comfortable. If you want a place just to sleep, it is fantastic! If youre going to spend any time in the room, I would book a different place.

I wish there were more places to plug stuff into the outlets in the room were all used by stuff in the room being the building is just older. Room was clean just noisy weather the walls are thin or just older building. Noise doesn't bother me but I know some people can't stand it.
- Mario (4/5): - The pool was very nice. There were charcoal grill on the grounds should you want to cook. The room had issues. The A/C was improperly installed, allowing the window to be left open, letting in bugs, outside air and noise. There is no smoking around the place, however that didn't stop smokers from smoking cigarettes and weed. The room was very dark with only 2 working lights.The bathroom was very small, not much "working room" & no hair dryer. The hooks by the shower for the bath towels was broken. The hot water was very hot! Only 1 available electrical socket to plug into. There was a table in the room, but only one chair. Not much attention to detail, but ok for 1 night, however we were there for 4 nights and would not come back again.
- Sylvie (2/5): - In all my years of traveling this has been the worse motel I’ve ever been. The motel and the property looked very unkept. The room was so run down and incredibly dirty!!! I had to ask for another room as the first room the AC filter was black and was hardly working. We had bugs crawling on the carpet and multiple pubic hairs left in the shower. As I was complaining at the office another woman came in to complain that she had just checked in and her room looked like it was never cleaned. The second room was somewhat better but still dirty. The door to the room was barely able to open and close it felt very unsafe. It was also hard to find a parking spot at night. The pool was the only thing we enjoyed it was actually nice but there’s no towel you can use.
- Rosa (6/5): - Room 18 needs a curtain or blind in the bathroom window. It made me feel unsafe so I put a towel on it to cover it up. I felt it was very tacky and weird there was a window rod but not curtain. Also the lamp on the left side of the bed did not work. Need to fix that.

I asked for my money back and got told no refunds after checking in. They said they would clean the room and half done the job.

Our room was extremely outdated, mattresses were old coil spring, AC wouldn't cool roon down, no accessible outlets for phone charger, floor was dirty, owner who checked us in was less then interested in our stay and concerns in regards to the room. Had booked 3 nights based on reviews and photos from Travelocity, far from resemblance. The per night cost doubled from Thursday to Saturday.

While the room was clean, the furnishings and bed felt old, and the mattress was pretty uncomfortable—I didn’t sleep well at all. What disappointed me most was being charged an additional $30 for my kids. I had booked a room with two double beds, but was told it was considered a “two-person” room, which didn’t make much sense. For the price, I expected a better experience.

Only a mile and a half from the beach, close to lots to see and do on the Maine coast. Helpful staff. The pool was great and open late to enjoy a night swim after a day in the sun. Convenient parking, clean rooms, smaller but cozy. There is a train nearby but with our sound machine and the ac running we weren't bothered by it at night. We would stay here again.

- Paula (8/5): - Although I didn't opt to eat at any local restaurants during my one night stay, there seem to be plenty of great options around when I looked online. My room had a refrigerator and microwave, so bringing a few items of your own is an option too. Definitely bring your own toiletries, such as body wash, toothpaste, and mouthwash. There are little packets of shampoo/conditioners and little bars of soap provided that may be enough for some, though. I didn't get a chance to really check out the area, but Tallwood, although not fancy, was fine for my stay and I'd probably stay there again.

The train passes later or earlier in the morning. Free wifi. Constant hot water and an air conditioner. A good location to other areas. Pets are allowed with an extra fee.

- Paul (8/5): Nice, basic place in a great location. - Small, basic room, but great location close to Wells and Kennebunk, but quiet location very close to the beaches. Great big, clean pool!
- Susan (6/5): - Check in was easy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. After checking in, I pulled back the bedding to check the sheets (it’s a habit) and found that the fitted sheet was covered in hair and dirt. I asked for a new sheet and the office attendant moved us into the room next door. She was super helpful and genuine. Those sheets were clean. The floor, however, was filthy so my boyfriend and I walked around the room in our sandals. The hotel is very outdated and worn, with minimal amenities. It was fine for us because it was just for the weekend and we weren’t planning to stay inside much. Air conditioning worked, plenty of hot water and the mattress was old but comfortable. The price is too high, of course, but it’s competitive to the surrounding properties. The location is great, just down the road from the beach and plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby.

The other two were in the bathroom and unusable to charge phone (wet environment) There was a microwave that was unusable because the electrical cord was too short to reach the outlet unless you put it on the floor and unplugged something else. I asked you to fix our TV the 2nd day and I meant before we left, not after. I wold rate the the worst motel/ I have ever stayed in.

- Samantha (2/5): - this was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at so much so me and my husband end up cutting our trip early and went home due to how dirty this place was. Everywhere you looked In the room you'd find either a dead bug or alive one. Hair from whoever stayed previous was still in the bed (as well as on the pillows ) when we arrived. Luckily I had an extra comforter in my car so we slept on top of the motels blankets and covered up with our own. The ac was old and didn't even cool anything down at one point the room got to 85 degrees try sleeping in that while 8 months pregnant. And to top it off we attempted to use the pool, as soon as my husband put himself on the stairs the whole structure let go from the wall and began to float in the pool while he's still standing on the stairs we then had to use the ladder at the other end of the pool to get in because the main stairs were so unsafe. We tried to avoid the motel as long as we could the following day because of how nasty it was but we eventually had to go back after being in the sun all day we wanted to rest but looking around the room we both knew that wasn't gonna happen and we agreed to pack our bags and drive the 2 hours home.

The price for one night was great, but what happened after, paying the extra money usually gives us a perfect stay. Bed was hard. I awoke with a stiff back/neck. Only two light fluffy pillows for a couple given. The refrigerator is right in front of the ac. It turned the whole refrigerator into a freezer. The remote control didnt work. Those little things makes you not want you to stay again. Thank you.

- Donald (10/5): - Very large pool, clean. First floor, parking, price was excellent for what we got.
- Brian (8/5): - Everything was really good and the staff was kind and friendly. The pool area was incredible as well as quiet. The one thing I would say was there were a fair amount of insects in the room

- Rebecca (6/5): - Good basic accommodation for a short stay. There were a number of flies and mosquitos in the room, because there was a noticeable gap under the door to the room and no screen on the bathroom window which was left slightly open. The A/C worked well, overall fine if you just need a place to sleep for the night.

- William (10/5): - Good location off main road. Traffic noise and train whistle was loud. Pool was nice, and check in staff friendly. Lots of restaurants nearby. Beaches close by too

- Sara (4/5): - Our floor in our room was pretty dirty. Not beach sand either which I could write off to a point. A moment out of the shower after our return from the pier and feet were absolutely black. Crust and dirt all over the floor. So wasn't the bath mat they provided to stand on after us showering. A few dead bugs didn't bother us. The beds were clean. Sheets were clean. A little loud. The speaker on the TV in our room was blown so it was a bit fuzzy to listen to at night before winding down. We also had no air conditioner in our room. At the time the fan was the only part working and the AC was making some questionable sounds and wouldn't turn over so we decided to turn off for the night. We only were staying for the night 4th of July. So nothing that could be fixed during our one night stay. Owner was super friendly. Was not able to speak on other staff during our short time. Will probably try to book somewhere else in a much earlier time frame next time. It's nearly been five nights and I have yet to receive our $50 deposit back. Hoping to hear back on that. Also our 5-year-old accompanied us And we were charged a $16 fee on top of the 150+ although the property states that the fees for ages over five not under five. So slightly misleading. Otherwise it wasn't my worst experience but I was hoping for better.

- Liz (2/5): Aweful place to stay!! - Couldn't go to my room until 1/2 hour after check in. The pool was cloudy. The slide for the playground was laying on the ground. Garbage outside was full. Room smelled and the shower curtain was extremely dirty! We didn't even stay because I was throughly disgusted!! Snack machine/deli was non existent and in a garage!!! Pictures on site is totally deceiving!! Do NOT stay at this place!!
- Victoria (8/5): - Let’s start with Cons…. It’s July 4th weekend and the pool was not available although it’s listed an available amenity. I only came here because the pool was said to be open. Imagine my surprise when they tell me it is not. 🙄 The TVs in the room did not work. There was no cable, no direct tv, nothing. Pros: Rooms were clean, although there were the one or two bugs. Bathrooms were clean and fresh clean towels were provided. The train did the scare us a few times but it was fine. For the future, you should list on your site or send a message to guests when they reserve that the pool is not working.
- Donald (10/5): - Friendly, polite check in.1 night stay. For the price it was as expected. We knew about the train going through in the area at all hours before we booked the room. Otherwise it was a quiet, pleasant stay.
- Steven R (10/5): Absolutely great place!! - Check in was easy and the owner and his sine were both super polite and very friendly. I will DEFINITELY be staying there again!! 10 put of 10 and highly recommend this place!!
- Tammy (4/5): - I apprecuated the fact rhat they were accomodating to my situation. I did not like the fact that it was noisy up til midnight, there were bugs in the place, and a bath towel was not in the room upon arrival.

- Michael (4/5): - Run down, little to no heat on a night in the 40’s. Cheap, hard mattress and barely stuffed pillows. Had a weird old musty/moldy smell. Drapes partly hanging off A broken rod that wouldn’t allow them to remotely close all the way (huge window right on ground level) weak ass Wi-Fi that constantly cut out. I will say for what it was it seemed clean and had shockingly high water pressure in the shower. Not so much in the sink or toilet though. Little to no lighting outside. I was looking for a cheap, minute room so, whatever, it was what it was.

- Kevin (10/5): A Step Back in Time - What an adorable vintage motel! I truly felt like we had stepped back in time; to maybe 1967. Our check-in process was quick and easy. The lady who assisted us was very friendly as she handed us an actual key! We walked past a white picket fenced pool to our room. As we entered our wood-paneled room, the bedspread reminded me of my grandmother’s home. We folded back the spread to reveal a fuzzy green blanket, another relic from my childhood. Upon further exploration, we discovered baseboard heating and an AC wall unit. What a surprise to learn the the king-sized bed was the most comfortable place we’ve slept all week. The cleanliness was a 10, not a speck of dust anywhere! And for food, there is a lovely diner just a few steps away.
- Thecla_Zugzwang (10/5): Princess & the Pea People be advised - Property improvements since i stayed here 2 years ago. My room appeared to be recently renovated. Convenient location near Maine Diner (0.1 mile, great Maine fare), Merrifarm Executive golf course (9 holes $20), Rachel Carson Preserve, Wells Estuary (Trails & Beach $6), Wells Beach (3 miles), local shopping + more Minimalistic but safe, refreshing HOT H2O with good pressure, [I recommend BYOToiletries.]. NOTE: old school keys & chain lock ... I recommend a $5 travel door lock to augment security. Amenities were as promised: small microwave, "dorm" frig, large smart TV with DirecTV, WiFi (good connection but not designed for gaming), swimming pool (in-season), working propane grills, picnic tables, alarm clock, towels, soap, shampoo, AC & heat. (Thermostat worked in my room). PET FRIENDLY Found the train whistle endearing as it reminds me of my hometown. I made a new friend. Bonus. Had some entertaining conversations with patrons. I found the staff friendly & accomodating. I slept well after playing golf & walking on the beach all day. Recommend MAINE DINER. Standard property policies. I don't know what kind of expectations traveller's have but with all the features & amenities TOTAL worth $50/nite. Personal thanks to owners thanks for providing affordable lodging so that I can take a staycation in my own state. That's true hospitality to me.
