Guest Reviews
- Sarah (10/5): - Chambers BB is a beautiful place, delightfully decorated with antiques. Our room was adorable including a bedroom and sitting area, as well as a private bathroom. The breakfast was delicious with multiple courses including fruit, homemade berry pancakes, local maple syrup, warm croissants, homemade jam, fresh tomatoes, warm egg strata, orange juice, and tea/coffee. The hostess accommodated dietary preferences and made everything fresh. It was served on a beautiful table with collectible glassware and china. This location is a real gem with a kind, helpful hostess. Highly recommended!
- Krista (10/5): - We had a perfect suite with a balcony and a little sitting room. The house is beautifully appointed with so many precious decor items making it jaw dropping beautiful. Cherly clearly has a talent for decorating and shopping. I usually wipe down everything in a room before we start unpacking but I really didn't feel the need to do that there. Everything is so clean and fresh. The breakfast was amazing, Cherly is an excellent cook. What a wonderful place to stay! Thank you, Cherly.
- Alisa (10/5): - This particular B&B is an absolute must-visit and that's considering that we've found Sydney quite boring but I'd come back just to stay at this property! Cheryl, the owner, works tirelessly to upkeep this beautiful historical house and put so much love, care and tasteful decor skills into this property. We felt like we've visited a museum. Every little piece of decor is thoroughly and thoughtfuly paired with the interior of the room and each room has its own theme. We stayed in the main room upstairs with ensuite bathroom, little tearoom (!) and a private deck overlooking beautiful garden. Everything was very clean!
Cheryl's breakfast is another story. We were treated like royalty with the beautiful English china setup. She made delicious omelette with veggies and ham, warm croissants, salad with garden cucumbers, homemade fruit salad and oatmeal pancakes with homemade jam. Absolutely delicious! 10/10
- Grace (10/5): - This was a 140 year old home that had many cool decorations and furniture in every room. The sleeping, sitting space and bathroom were more than adequate. Cheryl was a gracious host with good suggestions for a restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was incredible--soooooo good. It was very pleasant to enjoy breakfast around the beautifully set table with the other 2 couples. I would highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast.
- Perry (10/5): - Cheryl is a great host. The room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfasts were excellent!

- Jacqueline (10/5): - Cheryl Chambers, our host was absolutely fabulous. She put on a gorgeous and tasty breakfast and was just really lovely to chat to you. I would go back there anytime in a heartbeat. It was very interesting to hear about her home, which is 145 years old and to see if the architecture and the details inside was incredible.

- Alison (10/5): - We had an overnight stay here after we got off the ferry from Newfoundland and before we picked up our rental car - and we wished we’d had longer. Really a lovely guest house - our room was large and comfortable with its own balcony (both outside and inside) and bathroom all of which worked well. A very comfy bed. Mainly we loved the quirkiness and character of the place, Cheryl’s friendliness and helpfulness and the big very tasty breakfast. If we’d had longer we would also have been able to enjoy the tranquility of the garden. Thank you for being so helpful to us during our stay.
- Wayne (10/5): Absolutely perfect! - The inn is beautiful with decorating that is like a trip back in time to when the house was built, but with today’s amenities like wi-fi and air conditioning.
The breakfast was outstanding with fresh bread, waffles, eggs, fruit, etc.
this will be our go to place whenever we’re in the area again.
- Natasha (10/5): - Ms Cheryl took every pain to make sure my stay was pleasant. Bed was extremely comfy, lovely decor, and breakfast although not my cup of tea usually, was a splendid occurance! I especially loved the garden. What a delight! If you like a cool room and its summer time, let Ms Cheryl know in advance you would like the ac turned on a few hours ahead of arrival.
- Bev (10/5): - The property was beautifully maintained both inside and outside. Fantastic gardens. Hostess very friendly. Rooms were incredible with lots of extra amenities.

- Lori (10/5): - This 145 year old home is a labour of love.. Cheryl goes above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible! The Victorian decor is beautiful! The cottage garden is lovely and inviting. There is so much attention to detail creating an enchanting experience. Our accommodation was so clean! And it's just a few minutes from the ferry to Newfoundland. I strongly recommend staying here and we will if we are lucky enough to be in this area again!

- Ann (10/5): - Cheryl is a lovely, caring host. Her place is beautifully decorated with antiques befitting a heritage home. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious and served on fine china. Cheryl's attention to detail is impeccable.
- Kimberly (10/5): - We were late to check in and unfortunately, didn’t have cell service which inconvenienced the property owner. It was totally our fault. This caused the owner to miss an event she had planned. Other than that, breakfast was wonderful. We do appreciate the owner!
- Brian (10/5): - Beautiful property filled with gorgeous restored antiques. Friendly accommodating hostess who provided outstanding breakfasts.
- Carl (10/5): - Incredible stay, we were thrilled from the minute we pulled in the yard and saw the beautiful gardens! And our host Cheryl was amazing, she just couldn’t do enough for us! Her attention to detail, all the little things is what stood out for me. Then, I just have to rave about the breakfast! What a culinary surprise that was!!
So let me finish with this: I have stayed at many B & B’s over the years, this one just may well be the finest!!

- Jennifer (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful, it's well over 100 years old, and full of antiques. Our king room took us back to the early 1900's. We had a lovely sun room and a private deck. The breakfast was great, complimented by homemade bread and pancakes, while having delightful conversations with other visiting travelers.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Nicest B&B ever. The breakfast is sooooo goooood. Thank you for an amazing stay.
- Peter (10/5): - Cheryl goes out of her way to make your stay as perfect as possible. Can't think of anywhere else we would want to stay in North Sydney.
- Andrew (10/5): - The property is magnificent. Breakfast was delicious - way too much food but delicious nonetheless. Our room was a bit awkward because the bathroom was outside the bedroom. It worked okay as the other people staying on our floor stayed in their room
- charles (10/5): This is the one! - Absolutely perfect stay. Great service by the host, great communication, great breakfast, accommodated our gluten free diet, everything was above and beyond. - Bruce (10/5): - Very nice
- Daniel (8/5): - Lovely B&B. Attentive host. Wonderful breakfast
- Nancy (10/5): We hated to leave! - Favorite lodging of the nine or ten on our 3 week trip! Cheryl Chambers goes beyond to be accommodating, welcoming and informative. Large space-our room was about 25’ long, with bed at one end and Tv+ 2 wing chairs at the other, enclosed dining area, & balcony deck overlooking her gardens. She provides wine, nuts and candy in the entry foyer, and has tea & coffees in the room. Refrig just outside our door to share with the other room across the hall. Amazing breakfast, served on lovely linens and china in a side dining area away from her other 4 guests (my husband is immune-compromised so we dont normally dine indoors.) Pear and cinnamon whole wheat pancakes, eggs baked in cups made of thinly sliced honey smoked ham, fruit cup with crème fresh and coconut topping, garden tomatoes with balsamic and basil, freshly baked bread. Wow! Highly recommend. And her rates would be acceptable even if 50% higher.
- Brian (10/5): - This is a beautiful property. The host could not be nicer and helpful and she maintains a wonderful bed and breakfast. Even though we could not stay for breakfast, she took the time to give us a to go lunch which was unexpected and extremely thoughtful. Would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

Cheryl provided many thoughtful extras, including dining recommendations. The breakfast she prepared was one of the best we have ever had at a B&B. We highly recommend this lovely B&B!
- Catherine (8/5): - Beautiful historic home in great location. The owner is friendly and helpful. Our suite was lovely. Bed was super comfortable. Our only disappointment was that there was no ensuite. There was a bathroom (for our use only) right outside the suite. There were no bathrobes provided and we do not carry them while vacationing. We would not have booked this guest home had we realized that.
The breakfasts were fantastic. There was no leaving the table hungry. I don’t usually care for sausage but Cheryl served the most delicious I have ever eaten.
Overall, wonderful stay.
