• Lisa (4/5): - We were greeted by a less than welcoming staff person. The room was “okay”, however very old and did not appear to be maintained. We walked into a sweltering hot room as all appliances including refrigerator, freezer and AC were either unplugged or turned off. The pool was covered in algae and leaves. The jacuzzi was empty. Aside from the registration staff, all other staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast that was included was very nice.

• david (6/5): not many options, but . . . - This place is not a bad option. It's not expensive, the pool is nice enough, and some of the staff is very helpful (some less so, as is normal). The rooms, though, are dark and a bit dingy. There is simply no way for the light to get to the rooms, so you depend upon what may be the worst lighting I have ever seen in a hotel room. No bedstand lighting, harsh & insufficient ceiling lights & no outlets! It's pretty depressing, frankly - à la cheap roadside motels.The rooms are clean enough, although it may be time for a bit of a spruce up. However, the hotel is right on a busy road, so it's constantly noisy, & dusty, and the town is a bit rowdy, so not a lot of peace & quiet here. The location is fine--next door to a GREAT pollolandia, upon which you'll depend, as the food at this hotel is just not good. The breakfasts are an embarrassment--cut-up hot dogs? seriously? EXTREMELY greasy frozen hash brown thingies, fried eggs dripping with grease, pre-cooked, & stacked in a buffet. EXTRA greasy yuca served one day. Terrible toast & all the margarine you can eat. I begged for butter, but was told by a rather nasty woman that "Margarine. This is what we have!" But, one day, a magical employee who actually gave a damn brought me an entire stick of butter. I thanked him profusely, & explained that I only needed a Tablespoon, which he kindly brought to me for the subsequent breakfasts. So, bottom line--Coco is not a particularly nice town in which to stay, but this hotel is adequate.

The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and had a huge washroom. Not refrigerator though. Lastly, right across the street is a grocery store. The breakfast was ok.

Nice pool and great breakfast every morning:) Shopping for groceries across the street, short walk to beach, restaurants and shopping. Air conditioning was definitely a plus and worked great!! We would definitely stay there again:)

• Alicia (10/5): - We stayed here just before Christmas and had a wonderful time! This small, family-friendly resort was perfect for our needs. The staff were exceptional—friendly, helpful, and quick to assist. Upon arrival, we encountered a small issue with the toilet overflowing, but maintenance and housekeeping promptly came to the rescue. They handled it efficiently, put us at ease, and when we returned from the beach, everything had been thoroughly cleaned up. Breakfast was included, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a variety each day, featuring gallo pinto, eggs, sausage, fruit, and more. It was a great way to start our mornings. The premises also had security staff who were super friendly and provided excellent suggestions on places to visit and areas to avoid, which we really appreciated. We will definitely return and highly recommend this resort for its great service, welcoming atmosphere, and thoughtful amenities.

• PERBINDER (6/5): - We had the impresion that the hotel was a walking distance to the beach. It was a good 10-15 min walk because the pavements are so poor, we had to walk in the road. The hotel was very noisy with kids jumping into the pools until late night. No problem with this, but the famiy that run or own thehotel allow their unrully child to cause havoc in the pool that pumps up guest cjildren, With the pool only being small it is litterally impossible to get in to enjoy it. Also they are in there until very late night. Room was only slept once BUT the sheets were clean and often changed. The miserable lady from RECEPTION stuck her two pence in and stopped us from having breakfast 5 mins before it opened, she said we could take it away because the guy ws busy (he wsn't at all). But if he ws going to serve us to take away is it not the same as putting the food on the plate and us minding our bussiness and eat queltly. She basically hrew her weight for no reason whe challenged she stormed off. YOU LOST you staff TIPS reception lady.
• Robert (10/5): - We liked that the property was so conveniently located to the beach, shopping and restaurants. The rooms all face the pool area, so it can be a bit loud in the room when kids are playing in the pool. There is also quite a bit of traffic noise from the road from early morning until late at night. There was a problem with hot water in the shower, but they came to repair it immediately when we notified them. We'd recommend the property if you're looking for a convenient location in Coco.
• Lisa (4/5): - We booked and paid for 3 nights but left a day early because it was impossible to sleep because of all the noise. We were by the pool and it was really loud, kids yelling, dogs barking, loud music from the next door bar, motorcycle traffic, car traffic. The noise would start again around 6am with hotel guests, traffic, etc. The toilet was hard to flush, shower leaked outside of shower.

The free breakfast was basic, yet consistent and the area directly across from the hotel has two markets and a convenience store, which is nice. Location off the main drag through town provides a little protection from the noise, but the hotel is not very well insulated for sound, can be noisy depending on where your room is on the property and the courtesy of the people in the adjacent room(s).

It is well-maintained and features a swimming pool, which is a great option for those who prefer not to go to the beach. The restaurant offers a fantastic menu with fresh options every day. The staff is very helpful and friendly, always striving to make our stay more enjoyable. Our room was beautiful, with a very comfortable bed, bright white and crisp sheets, and fresh towels. The daily housekeeping was excellent. We had a wonderful time at “Colono Beach Hotel” and highly recommend it!

• Katherine (8/5): Good location, clean and basic rooms - The best part of the hotel was the staff. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The property is nicely located in town, but this does mean there is a fair bit of street noise. Breakfast being included every day was a nice feature, it did get a bit repetitive though. You have access to the Coco Bay Beach Club, which was amazing. The rooms themselves are basic, but manageable for a shorter stay.

• Robert (2/5): Heat stroke in room. - Wish I would have stayed at an airbnb. The room had three doors (access points) to room. One of which was unlocked. The sliding glass door did not lock which was a security concern. The toilet barely flushes. The music from neighboring clubs was going all night long, people racing or motorcycles all night. The absolute worst part.... the HEAT!!!! the mini split was either too small for the room or it needs to be repaired. We were hot AF in the room all night. It took us to close the bathroom door to try to cool off the room faster only to open the bathroom door and get hit with a heatwave.
• Dianne (10/5): Pura Vida! - The staff were absolutely the best! Friendly, resourceful and always smiling and happy! The first week of our stay was great…i asked the staff to make me hard boiled eggs instead of the typical menu they had and they accommodated my request as i prefer hard boiled vs scrambled or omelettes. Rooms were clean. Not a fancy hotel, but it didnt matter to me as i was only in the rooms to wash up, get ready and sleep. Bonus was a full fridge/freezer so i could store cold beverages and or freeze ice cream. My only comment is that the rooms can be updated, add a cook top if guests wanted to cook/warm up a meal instead of using a microwave, kitchen tea towels would be an asset. Security was a must on our list and we felt very safe at the hotel. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay very much!

The included breakfast was very good as was the service. The pool was not large but nice. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the center of town and 6 or 7 minutes to Playa Coco. The only small drawback is the occasional noise from the nearby road. I definitely recommend this hotel for a budget minded traveller.

Overhead lights are too bright and would be nice to have lamps. Breakfast was ok and would be nice to provide more options especially for those with allergies (gluten, dairy, milk, butter, etc.) Was nice that Hotel Colono is not on the Main Street and included security and parking.

The pool is small but perfect for cooling off from the heat. Overall, the hotel is conveniently located but far enough from the main strip and small enough so as not to be too noisy. Good value.

• Tracy (8/5): - The hotel is newer with air conditioning in the very spacious rooms that had a very nice kitchen area, the dining/lounge area was a bit small but nice over-looking the pool. The reception is tucked around the back of the hotel in a small office. No elevator so only stairs to the second floor. Rooms face the pool and dining area and there was loud music playing late into the evening, past 10pm. All that could be heard was the boom boom of the bass. Very duruprive
