Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): - .
- onasykie2 (6/5): You get what you pay for - Close to the cruise terminal. Close to public transport to the city. Place needs a good update. Rooms are old and really need updating. Front desk was excellent and very helpful. You get what you pay for.
- Jackie (10/5): - Found it central for what we needed
- tonic294 (4/5): Very basic - It’s located on a very busy road so very noisy. Has limited car parking. The rooms are very basic but clean. Very basic accommodation for overnight stay and situated next to a pub so there are people coming and going at all hours. No good for light sleepers. But it did have an elevator.
- Christine (6/5): - Beds great and clean.
Kitchen utensils dirty.
Staff friendly and helpful
- Patricia (4/5): - Room was not cleaned asked to
Move somewhere else when advised nothing available after much discussion given clean sheets and towels to makeup ourselves
- Gaye (4/5): - The bed spread was filthy and stained
- woopiservicecentre (2/5): Never Stay Here Filthy Disgusting Health Hazard - We had a small group & were given room 3.
Very old, that I could live with, but very dirty. Shower had not been cleaned someone’s electric toothbrush was left in shower & other items.
On day 2 I called them up as room was not cleaned & they said they didn’t do them.
I looked on website & it said they do & told manager & he said, “ oh only if you asked” he did bring us fresh towels.
Each floor stunk, off food piled up from room 2.
Website site said WIFI…. nope.
Our friends arrived late on Friday night, their room was filthy & had not been cleaned by previous guests it was absolutely disgusting.
Wet towels on floor bed used & when they called they said can’t get cleaners get some other motel. They informed manager they couldn’t so he ( manager ) came to the room ( drunk as with lady friend as they informed us they were at the pub ) with sheets towels etc & we had to strip beds & make them.
Never before have I stayed in such a disgusting motel before, ever. Better off at backpackers.
I/We will never ever stay there again.
He also said he would reimburse the money, but did not when we left.
Once this place have your money zero care, zero service zero cleanliness.
Absolutely Disgusting
- debbie (10/5): - convenient hotel to stay when you are going on a cruise.
Cafe and restaurants within walking distance.
- Michelle (10/5): - Family stay, clean basic spacious room,, good location with easy parking and plenty of dining options nearby.
- George (8/5): - The easy access to the ferry.
- Jeffrey (6/5): - Getting a bit old but clean and convenient. friendly staff
- Margaret (8/5): - Clean enough for an aged place . Close to Bus & Ferry . The room (F2 R2) is a bit patched -up , shower drips 24/7 , nice smell when you walk in , I would stay again but only for the location (re the parking , the underbuilding carpark has a very low entry point and only low to the ground can get in )
- Toni (8/5): - Very basic room but clean & great for a short or overnight stay.
- Chris (10/5): - Family room ideal, great view and deck for relaxing.
- Kavita (6/5): - The lights in the room did not work.
- C7095VIjoec (2/5): Disgusted by this place - This is the rudest staff ive ever met, arrived to find booking changed, initial gut feeling was right, filthy, dirty, we ended up leaving after 5 minutes and finding alternative
Honestly this place hasnt been touched since 60’s
And then they wont even refund after agreeing to it
- Heather (8/5): - The lift did not work in the evening
- Donna (8/5): - River walks and ferry. Convenient location. Dining options within walking distance. Secure parking
- SHIH CHIEH (8/5): - Everything all good.
- Tyrone (8/5): - Really good

- Shanon (4/5): - The lift needs to be replaced
- Christine (10/5): - Very clean room!!!
- Clayton (10/5): - Great friendly staff going above and beyond to make my stay comfortable
- Brittenee (10/5): - This property deserves a 5 star. We were looking for a brilliant experience for our large family 2 adults 4 kids. We had a lot planned but we’re on a budget I was worried by some of the reviews but soon see they negative reviews were clearly false
We underestimated our time of arrival arriving 1.5 hours early…wasn’t an issue at all the lovely gentleman at reception promptly checked us in I could tell it was a very busy day for them and I was absolutely blown away at the hospitality shown and I only hope they will have us back ! The hotel offers free wifi and Netflix on a flatscreen tv with a quaint dining table and beautiful city views ! & I can’t forget the rooftop views. They also off tea coffe and biscuits upon arrival which was fantastic! It’s close to all local amenities and the rooms are more then what you expect for the price this is great and I HIGHLY recommend staying here
We had a wonderful experience and I only hope we can return in the near future ! Cheers Hamilton Motor Inn for a brilliant experience absolutely AAA
- Anthony (6/5): - Location was good for me as close to my venue.
Motel quite dated and in need of renovation.
- Mark (10/5): - Great customer service and very clean room
- Babak (6/5): - Lift stopped working just after we arrived, had the bathroom door locked from outside and could not access the bathroom, propoertly is long due for an upgrade, however location is convenient and has everything nearby.
- Global32308090467 (8/5): Great Position and Price - We had a 2 night stopover between flights from PNG to Fiji and needed to book a short term place to stay, we came across the Hamilton Motor Inn and the price was good and close to Brisbane airport.
While our expectations were not that high we were very pleasantly surprised by the value and well positioned Motel, we arrived after the office hours but one quick call and told where to find the key ready for us, upon getting to the room which was very clean and comfortable we were able to settle in perfectly.
We had all manner of services and place to eat and get supplies around us and only being a 5 minute walk from the City Cat wharf meant it was very easy to get around and do what we needed, I would recommend Hamilton Motor in for anyone that wants an well priced place to stay with easy access to Brisbane city and the airport
- Wayne (4/5): - Great service. Aircon worked well. Wifi was great. Hall stinks of smoke on non smoking floor and was very noisey, echoed a lot. Poor matress.
- karenrR6939CM (8/5): Basic But Very Relaxing and Amazing River View - We just got home yesterday from out Christmas Eve and Christmas Day stay. I normally take the kids to a more newer complex but the prices these days are just ridiculous! I picked this hotel because 1. $185 per night over Christmas was reasonable, I'd expect it to be $50 cheaper per night off peak times. 2. We picked the family room with the river view and we not disappointed as it's a lovely view. 3. The Staff were very friendly and I believe I spoke with the Manager or Owner and his wife and they were very friendly also. This is not always the case in fancy stuck up joints. They understood we had family coming and going over our Christmas break and were very relaxed about this which for me was the highlight as it was important for us to feel free to enjoy our Christmas Celebrations.
I'm not going to complain about anything, I'd love to see a spa put in on the amazing roof top with awesome river and city view, that would definitely make this a perfect stay for us as we did miss a pool or spa to chill out in. Being next door to the Hamilton Hotel and Dan Murphy's is a huge plus. Excellent location all round as it's very close to Ascot and its lovely restaurants, racecourse etc, the old cruise terminal and the cinemas, woolworths, restaurants etc. The city cat is just across the road and a 7/11 a few steps away also.
This is an older hotel and I'm sure with a few extra touches could be brought back to life a bit but people can't expect it to become the Hilton lol.
Would definitely stay again. Thankyou for making our stay very enjoyable.
Karen and family.
- Elspeth (8/5): - Very friendly service
- Christine (10/5): - Great location.
- Deirdre (6/5): - Basic motel in need of a renovation. Very nice staff and in a very handy spot.
- Tim (8/5): - Great location and parking beneath
- Beau (10/5): - Good location, staff were amazing. Definitely will be staying here again
- kezCairns (4/5): Just No - I hate leaving bad reviews but tbh I just cannot say anything nice except the chap on reception was super nice. The room looked nothing like the photos online, the shower was stained and horrible, the toilet crammed between 2 walls, so badly in need of an upgrade it’s not funny. The bed was fine but the entire place is awful from the moment you step into the dirty elevator. The price is ridiculously high for what it offers, it was a relief leaving.
- rod (8/5): - Close to the airport and somewhere to eat. Comfortable bed was a bonus. Wasn't dirty, just dusty in places. It was nice to relax for the night before travelling on home.
- Christine (2/5): - No hot water available to all apartments and lift not working when we arrived. Carpet not clean and dirty marks on cushions. Very rude manager who declined refund or discount even though amenities were not working.
- Stephen (10/5): - Clean tidy and close to everything
- Kayla_Jean9 (2/5): Not even good enough for a few hours before a flight - I have absolutely no words with how anngry off I am with paying to stay in this place! this is beyond comprehension! Firstly no toilet paper in the room so I had to go to Woolworths and buy my own cheapest pack I could get was $9.05 so there is extra money wasted, there was literally faeces in the toilet, there is someone’s underwear in the bathroom drawer and the ashtray is full of cigarettes and water at 23:15 and there were people just outside of my room making an insane amount of noise even though they aren’t meant to be up here after 9pm, the wind keeps moving the door making it sound like someone is trying to open the door and don’t even get me started on the lift that I fear for my life in! I have been itchy since arriving, my partner who doesn’t complain about anything literally walked out of the bathroom from a shower and stated it is the worst shower he has ever had it was either boiling water or cold no in between also do you like some black mould in your motel bathroom. I am so angry I’ve wasted money staying here! I got less than 2 hours sleep and ran out of that hotel room to sit at the airport longer than I would of preferred. Never again I’d rather spend hundreds more somewhere else!
- Jamie (8/5): - Convenient location; Dan Murphy’s right next door!, Hamilton Hotel pub and Graziers Streak house next to that, and a 7-Eleven next to that. Brett’s Wharf Ferry terminal across the road too…
- Kerrie (10/5): - The property is dated. But still accommodated our needs for the night.
- Jemma (10/5): - Great spot - easy to get in and out of …
- Fin (4/5): - Handy location but if you are in one of the rooms close to the road it’s very noisy from 5am when traffic starts
- MU_67_02 (6/5): Good for a night - Not a bad place to stay if you are only staying a single night. The staff we met were all very friendly. The room was extremely basic and in dire need of an upgrade. There was no shampoo or soap provided in the dispensers in the shower. No lift available so you have to take the stairs. If you get a room here for around $100 it's ok, anything over this price, look elsewhere.
- Jeanette (2/5): - Nothing
- Emily (6/5): - Staff was nice, but I guess you get what you pay for. The room wasn't that clean, didn't take my shoes off on the carpet, the bathroom had a dirty towel left, and mould on the ceiling. The bedding was clean and okay for comfort.
- Micheal (10/5): - Awesome budget accommodation in great location!
- Jed (8/5): - Older motel but the rooms are kept clean. The staff were friendly. Check in and early key drop off were a breeze. Views of the river And easy to grab a meal with the pub right next door.
Would stay there again
- Kevin (8/5): Great hotel - Nice hotel near cruise terminal. Easy walk to shops and restaurants
- Peter (10/5): - Cheap and very cheerful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hamilton Motor Inn - Older hotel. Clean room. Good location. Close to Brisbane Airport. You can sit on top floor and enjoy the view. On site parking.
- YUMIKO (8/5): - Reasonable but big room with river view.
- Nicole (6/5): - Manager was lovely and very accommodating with late check in. Great location but property is very much in need of renovations. Lift out of order, power points exposed, toiletries hard to use from older dispenser s. Lots of road noise.
- Dianne (8/5): - Bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked, good towels and bedding
- Stephen (8/5): - Clean and tidy and friendly staff
- BBaabar (10/5): - Beautiful location rooms and property need a massive renow. Manager owner of property is great person very helpfull
- TandJMcS (10/5): Hamilton Motor Inn at Ascot in Brisbane is good value - Stayed at this motel on the night of our flight back from Norfolk Island in July 2022. Very convenient budget accommodation close to the airport. Our queen bed was comfortable and gave us a good night’s sleep. Road traffic noise is much reduced now that the upgrade of Kingsford Street Drive has been completed. The manager at the motel did an excellent job in assisting us with a missing item of luggage and was very helpful throughout our stay. Great night-time views of Brisbane from the rooftop sundeck. Some excellent restaurants nearby and you can get an early breakfast at several cafes along Racecourse Road.
- Samantha_Lea_Sherry (10/5): Hamilton Hotel - We booked our room so we had somewhere to wait and relax before our late night flight!
The room was very clean and neat, just what we needed. The owners were lovely and helpful. Location in Hamilton is beautiful and so close to the airport! We would come back to this Hotel.
- Peter (8/5): - Excellent customer service, helpful. Close to airport.
- Tony (6/5): - Very good location, abundance of Cafe and restaurants close by along Racecourse Rd, Manager very friendly and helpful. In need of an upgrade becoming very tired and run-down.
- Deborah (6/5): - The hotel was adequate for the price and location. i would rather pay extra and stay somewhere nicer in future but other options were booked out.
- Patrick (8/5): Close to airport and comfortable. - Decent hotel close to the airport. Served out purposes for a cheap comfortable stay. No complaints, happy with the room, service and location.
- Tracey (8/5): - .
- Y4525HBkarenm (6/5): Great location but uncomfortable beds... - We look at a place where we could stay after an event in South Bank so this hotel was great as it was 2 minutes) we had a car so it was handy with parking the car and take transport to the city.. walks from the City cat ferry, ( also there is bus stop right next to the hotel) the room was big and clean the shower was the best we had for long time as far as strong hot shower ++ and liked the roof top where we can look to the Brisbane CBD and the river. BUT the beds where so uncomfortable and we couldn't get the access to the WI-Fi. and very noisy from the road very early in the morning (around 4 am)
- Keren (6/5): - Could not get Wi-Fi, very noise (next to main road) and very uncomfortable beds but clean and the room was good size, and clean
- Amy (6/5): - We loved the staff & easy communication we had with them!
The view & location were spectacular!
Would of loved a bowl or two in the room with an extea spoon so we could have had brekky though?!!
- Thomas (10/5): - Great value for money.
- Gary (8/5): - Location is excellent, Greg the manager was very approachable and helpful. Guests were quiet and respectful. Will be staying again, thanks
- Stuart (8/5): - Staff was friendly and helpful. The motel itself is old and run down.
- jacqueline (8/5): - Very convenient a little old but new management are endeavouring to do up the hotel. Good value for money.
- Christine (10/5): - Very clean comfortable room
- tim (8/5): - Good area between Brisbane and the airport to stay.
- Reinhold (2/5): - Easy walking distance to restaurants cafe rever walk motor Inn old needs upgrating no wifi connection lift scary
- Adrian (10/5): Location perfection - Consistent with previous reviews hotel is old style but comfortable.Old style lift gives you a heart starter when it reaches your floor 😀.Room wasnt serviced during stay but was due to unforseen circumstances.Location outstanding.Bus stop outside door opposite Brisbane river and the catamaran pick up/drop off and cafes and restaurants minutes walk along with 2 min drive to Eagle Farm racecourse.Location wise could not ask for anything better
- Neil (8/5): - Older style, but clean and functional. Enjoyed our stay and will likely return.
- Pooja (10/5): - We stayed for a short period but for an inn, I'd say it is well kept although its an old property, it was clean. The sheets, towels and rooms were clean. Very impressed.
I will stay there again when in Brisbane next. 5 star for cleanliness.
- Michael (6/5): - Convenient location, decent enough motel room, shame about the lipstick smeared coffee cup!
- bradley (8/5): - The location was perfect and parking so was easy. The room was a generous size I couldn't fault it. Bed was nice and shower was great. Really cheap and affordable for the location my stay was great. I can only say my first night I was NOT impressed by the police screaming and banging the door down across from me arresting some guy , waking up to (police we have the place surrounded) wasn't very good, no apologies from anyone either...... Otherwise great place would stay again
- marvallejob (10/5): Great Place - Rooms and common areas are impeccable. The view is fantastic. It is close to the river. It has such an excellent location.
It is a great place to stay. The staff is great! They all go above and beyond
Highly recommended!
- Christine (8/5): - Great location. Clean and safe property
- Christine (10/5): - Great location. Clean rooms.
- Chun (10/5): - Value for money.
Ferry terminal across the road.
- John (10/5): - We have stayed at the property previously, very handy to city ferry airport and good restaurants.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Good value for money, friendly staff, convenient location, clean and comfortable rooms
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Value for money, great location, friendly staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - nice view of river buses and ferry close
- Margaret (8/5): - It was abit dated but the Motor Inn was very good. In a great location with all the amenities. Good Job.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - On initial entry, the room smelt stale and dtuffy. The first thing I did was to try to open a window to air the room. Unfortunately, the windows can not be opened. Another guest was leaving their room door open to the main hallway in an effort to get fresh air into their room, thus presenting a potential COVID19 infection hazard. The bathroom was far from clean, with extensive black mould growth in the grout lines of the shower, and elsewhere in yhe bsthroom.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location for the races.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Easy checkin. Clean room
- Andrew (8/5): - Friendly helpful staff. Clean room. Bed was a little hard for my liking and road noise from Kingsford Smith Drive is quite loud if you are not used to traffic. Very convenient for city cat terminal which is across road. Close to eateries.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great room and location. I’d stay again. Thank you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - it was close to where we had to go
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect for our needs, a lot larger than expected
- Marea (8/5): Happy - Probably needs a new modern air conditioner the one there is noisy when on
