- Simon (10/5): Genuinely magical Jaipur comfort - The property is incredible. There are flashier places with more extravagant photos, but don't be fooled, this is the real deal. The meals, including breakfast is smartly à la carte, which I much prefer. Freshly made always beats sharing food with who knows who! Taste was delicious and they went out of their way to alter it to my order. I really appreciated being able to chat with the Ayurvedic doctor and enjoyed the following massage. Some may think the welcome room is a little hostel-like, but it is still friendly due to the excellent staff.

The property is spacious, clean and really well designed and pleasing to the eye. The property is perfect, however it is a bit out of the center of Jaipur so you must uber everywhere. But it’s never a problem to get an uber from the hotel.

It was the best place we stayed while in India and we would be keen to return! The staff were professional, friendly and helpful and went out of their way to ensure that we were looked after. The property is stunning and well maintained, particularly the terrace and the pool area. The breakfast was also delicious. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious and we had everything we needed. We will be recommending this hotel to all our friends! Nothing! We wish we could have stayed longer

- R (10/5): Beautiful heritage stay with warm hospitality - We stayed here for two nights and had a wonderful experience. The property is very well maintained, with beautiful architecture and attention to detail throughout. The rooms are spacious, unique, and extremely comfortable—you almost don’t feel like stepping out. The garden and Frangipani courtyard were highlights, especially in the evenings with a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were exceptional. Mr. Surya took the time to show us different rooms and share the history of the haveli, which added a personal touch. Ms. Soni was warm and welcoming, and Mr. Alwyn at the spa was excellent. Overall, the team was courteous, attentive, and professional. The only drawback was the food. The menu is somewhat limited and on the pricier side. While the taste was good and the service was excellent, adding more variety or à la carte options—or allowing external food delivery—would improve the overall experience.

The use of plastic bottles in a city that is overrun with plastic waste, going green should be a consideration. Some of the rooms need an upgrade in decor.

A peaceful oasis away from the city centre which was a welcome relief after a busy day in Jaipur. The food was absolutely delicious, so much so that we didn’t eat anywhere else. The staff were so lovely, charming and kind. Nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool and gardens were beautiful and very well looked after. We stayed in a premium suite which was lovely and very spacious. By the end of our 5 night stay it felt like a home away from home. I will definitely be returning when I’m next in Jaipur. Nothing

- Joanne (10/5): Complete joy and peaceful retreat in the busy city of Jaipur. - This was our second stay in 2025 at the RHH and my partner's favourite hotel in India. It feels homely but with the professionalism and many of the amenities you would receive in a corporate hotel. The staff are a huge bonus of this hotel, from the security at the gate, to the the spa to the restaurant, they are invaluable and a credit to their employer. It would be nice to see female staff in positions other than reception, like in the restaurant to give fair and equal opportunities. We really enjoyed when the staff engaged with us during meal times to tell us about the city, India and their experiences - this should be encouraged. It was not acknowledged that we had stayed before despite this being noted at the time of booking. A welcome back or some kind of loyalty scheme would be appreciated.

- Klaus (10/5): Es war eines der besten Hotelaufenthalte der letzten Jahre und das waren Dutzende. - Das Hotel befindet sich in einem exzellenten Zustand trotz der 200 jährigen Geschichte als Jagdschloss der Maharadschas von Jaipur. Man hat es verstanden den Charm der Vergangenheit mit dem Stand der Neuzeit hervorragend zu verbinden. Die Anlage wird ständig in einem äußerst sauberen und gepflegten Zustand gehalten. Das Personal erfüllt jeden noch so ausgefallenen Wunsch. Man hat das Gefühl „to be at Home away from Home „.Es ist uns schwergefallen diesen Ort zu verlassen, Das gesamte Personal ist liebenswürdig und effizient. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir allerdings den Manager Mr.Surayaveer und den Chef Mr. Prithvi Oli ,die durch Ihre Kompetenz und Gastfreundlichkeit besonders hervorstachen. Beiden nochmals auf diesem Wege unseren besonderen Dank.

- Sophie (6/5): Overpriced Stay at Shadow of Former Royal Hunting Lodge - The garden and pool area in the original part of the property was pleasant. Room (when given the correct one) had some nice historic decor. Only ate one night at the hotel but the food was good. The staff were very eager to please and well meaning. - Not being local, I didn’t realise how far the property actually was from the main sights of Jaipur which meant a lot of time spent sitting in traffic. - Ended up checking in later than expected (approx 7:30pm) and experience was underwhelming. The Reception area doesn’t set the stay up for any kind of wow factor, and looks like the kind of temporary structure you have on a build site. I could see that (similar to other hotels) they had a welcome ceremony for new guests (with sandalwood and a wooden necklace) but I wasn’t given this welcome when I arrived. - Overall whilst the old part of the property had some charm, the hotel decor/aesthetics were quite tired and the extension to the property does not seem to have been done sympathetically. It totally lacked any “wow” factor that I was expecting and had in similar stays. - I booked a Heritage Premium Suite, because I was happy to pay more for some authentic decor shown in the website photos, however the first room I was shown to was in a new build part of the property with a cheap plastic door and windows (room 122). It was like walking into a big white square clinical space, with some furniture arranged around the edges and had absolutely no character. I re-read the hotel website description of the room I booked which stated “luxuriously appointed suites feature private terraces or direct access to the pool gardens… vintage doors and serene views” none of which were applicable to my room. When I went to reception to challenge I was initially told that it was the right room, but continued to push back on the description differences and was finally moved to another room in the main part of the original property that aligned more with the website description and my expectation (room 101.) Meant an unnecessarily stressful start to the stay and given that the hotel was almost empty, unclear why they didn’t just give me the right room when I first checked in.

- Alice (7/5): Nice but seriously overpriced - Beautiful grounds, including our stunning room with a smart tv, comfy seating and a massive bathroom. Lots of lovely spots to sit and eat, read, etc. Gym with decent equipment. Staff organised cake for my birthday, which was kind. Having stayed in much cheaper, nicer places throughout our two months in India this is wildly overpriced and you are paying for the allusion of grandeur. The food is fine, but 5x the price of other restaurants, where it will be much, much nicer. This is absolutely catered to tourists who are willing to pay blindly no matter the charge. The pool was dirty (though I appreciate this is out of the hotel’s control) and the staff were a bit overbearing. Further, the massage was ludicrously expensive compared with other spas I’ve been to in India, with very little pressure. Would recommend staying in a beautiful homestay or cheaper hotel instead, as you will have a more genuine and equally beautiful experience.

- Harm (4/5): All good things of Haveli completely spoiled by payment hassle - Great setting, wonderful dinner location What spoiled it completely for us, is the horrible invoicing system. Credit card payment via Booking are refused, which many hotels in India dor some reason do, but Haveli sent an email, which you tend NOT to read as it is a holiday, threatening to cancel the room if payment is not made in 24 hours. Mind you, we had paid via credit card. On the road in Rajasthan, with limited wifi access, non of their payment systems offered worked. Ended up making a bank transfer, that took days so had not arrived when we checked out. So we paid yet again. We have now paid twice and hope to get money back. But beside the money, the stress and irritation of the refusal to accept credit card payment via booking and the pushing messages spoiled several days during our trip. They claim that this is because of. “Safety”, but upon asking further it is only because some tourists in the past had paid via credit card and withdraw the payment. And because of this, they make up the story of “safety” and hassle their customers…….

- Anna (8/5): Very good - This historical property is a paradise behind tall walls, but unfortunately it is still connects to a very busy road, so you can’t escape a pollution and heavy noise day and night. The staff of the hotel was the most welcoming and supportive, but there is no facilities to change currency in the property. Need to bear it in mind.

From the gate security, who came with us to find an office to buy our train tickets to the lovely bar man, his signature cocktails a must try!!! Are the kindest people. Thank you.

I also love how the hotel has different areas to sit and enjoy the surroundings. We had a lovely stay! The hotel is located on the west side of Jaipur. Due to traffic, it takes a bit of time to get to your destinations. Nonetheless, the staff is excellent and we're only sad about not having a day planned without sightseeing so we could enjoy the pool and hotel grounds.

A quiet place where to rest after visiting the hectic streets of Jaipur. Not super close to the center but with a car or a tuk tuk it is fine.

The towels are not looking fresh. The wardrobe is very small in width and depth. Find it difficult to hang clothes. The room shoukd have ironing board, sewing kit and shoe shiner.

Very much enjoyed the stay and would return next time. Check in process was exceptionally long as staff couldn’t find my booking for ages.

The place is in the market but still had a very peaceful stay. Loved the food and the fact that everything was made fresh. This is a perfect place for a family stay. Highly recommended.
