Guest Reviews
- Harikrishnaswamy (10/5): - Good food and friendly and helpful staff,
- Peter (10/5): Sit Back and Listen to the Birds ! - Comfortable but straightforward and well-equipped accommodation set amongst lush green foliage presents a great opportunity to chill out and detoxify from the stresses of everyday life. Just sit back and listen to the birds which are plentiful and varied ! Service and food were excellent. The resort offers various eco-activities including tours in the nearby Nagahole Tiger Reserve. We did not see tiger or elephant, but did see many deer and monkeys near-to on the jeep safari, repeating those with additionally other animals and birds seen during the river safari.
- Priya (4/5): - It is not worth the stay. Staff is courteous. Rs 500, govt safari ticket they charged us 2000+ with no addons( not even a bottle of water). We had to drive ourselves to to the safari pick up point and had to wait almost an hour to get a bus . We were under the impression that the safari is in exclusive vehicles since the charge was more than 4 times the govt charge. 20 mnts into the safari, we returned to pick up more tourist and there was not enough seats. Total ripoff Food is average. Not at all worth the money they charge.
- Diane (10/5): Garden of Eden - Perfect experience in the middle of nature, waking to sounds of birds and eating the fruits and vegetable of the gardens. Ayurvedic massage was blissful. All the home cooked food was delicious. Will go back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Food was average. And the reeds to be refurbished
- Raghu (10/5): - We Loved the resort. Garden is very well maintained. It is close to Nagarhole to do safaris. The meals are great. Lot of varieties. excellent choice of deserts. We had fun time. My mother is handicap & wheel chair bound. The staff was great to make accommodations for her. We had a great time.
- Sweety (10/5): - Awesome experience
- L (6/5): - iPhone was stolen from locked room when we were having dinner
- Mathee (8/5): Nice resort for a quiet weekend - Red Earth Kabini is a good weekend retreat from the chaos of Bangalore. Great drive from Bangalore with only the last stretch to the hotel being marred by a non existent road. That apart it's a lovely place to unwind. Very polite & attentive staff greet you on arrival. The rooms are very spacious with a very earthy feel. The jacuzzi seems a waste for families with kids - a hammock or a mini lawn would have been more welcome. It's a great feature for couples though.
The food is much better than the average resort fare with some dishes being truly spectacular. There's no room service which can be a bit tiresome especially in the rains. The bar is very reasonably priced with a great ambience. Perfect for a pre dinner drink & getting to know others at the resort. On the whole a lovely place that definitely will have you returning for more.
- bhaskar (4/5): left red faced - Have been to many resorts, would consider this below par. Paid Rs 44000 for one night for four. On arrival was told I have to pay for the meals!! I told the guy hell with you and then he checks and says we don't have to!!
Asked to be taken on a boat ride. Obviously they do not have the permission. You go in your car to another resort and the end cost works out to 2000 per head for something that at jungle resort costs less than 1000. Everybody and his uncle are taking a cut.
The shower mixture in the room malfunctioned.
The staff specifically in the dining and the food is excellent.
- doc (10/5): Close to river bed - Arun, Raja, Satish etc are wonderful staff and make you feel comfortable. More so Arun the manager. Overall good experience
- Rob (8/5): - Hotel, ambiance, location etc is excellent. So a stopover for a few days is very recommended. Safari-options however are not clear and insufficient supported. It seems that it is handled by "goverment busses" while other lodges have acces to private vehicles (Jeeps) which can come closer to the wild animals.
- Anupama (10/5): COLOURSCAPE - we had a splendid time at the Red Earth.
The place is a beautiful riot of colours, the owners are involved an committed to sustainable tourism for the evolved traveller.
A lot food on the table is locally produced on the property, comfortable rooms and the a lovely huge bathroom!!!
Would love to go back again.
- Rajan (10/5): Red Earth Kabini - We saw the tiger!! - We had a very good experience at Red Earth Kabini. Right from the day we arrived there, we got all the good vibes. The owner, Ravi, was always in touch with all guests and would advise everyone about the various activities one could undertake in and around the resort. The open to sky jacuzzi was a great relaxation. Of course, the main attraction of Kabini is the safari ride in the very near Kabini Tiger Reserve. And, were we lucky to sight a majestic Bengal Tiger during our ride!! All in all a very good overall experience. Highly recommended!!
