Guest Reviews
- Larry (2/5): - Staff was very rude. They charge for my clean pets yet the room was filthy, smelly and had a roach infestation. Luckily I did not notice the roaches until the morning because I would have not been able to sleep. But when I open the shower door they all went running. This place looks nothing like the pictures on Expedia
- TED (2/5): - No pool! Didn't even check in.
- kevin (4/5): Horrible - My bed frame was broken, the bed did not lay flat. Killing roaches the entire. Cigarette burns and ashes all over furniture. Also the worst check in experience I’ve ever had, the dude was literally yelling at me. I thought I was being pranked. DO NOT COME HERE
- Herman (2/5): - I booked a room and the property manager waited until the day of the reservation and cancelled the booking and I can't get my money back so they scammed me out of my money and apparently I'm not the only one their reviews are full of scammed people! I'm contacting law enforcement and the news about this!
- Jessica (2/5): - Do not book this hotel
- Angel (2/5): - The property posted misleading photos that don’t reflect its actual condition. When I arrived, they had already given away my reservation.
Terrible, but at least I had to get another hotel
- Evan (5/5): Won’t stay again, owners very rude me - Quiet and clean Room had no furniture
- 206carters (2/5): TERRIBLE/GROSS - Worst place to possibly stay at on this planet. The place stinks. Indian people run it and they walk around barefoot and are very disrespectful. I walked in after booking online and walked out. Didn’t even stay.
- Jarrad (8/5): - Very clean,
- Wayne (6/5): Quiet - No breakfast
- Donald (2/5): - This was one of the worst stays, I will never stay at this motel even if you payed me, staff was very rude, house keeping never came I had to go get supplies from the office
myself, and they actedlike I was stealing from them, there were no ameminitys, and you got one cup of coffee, with no creamer or sugar, and it was like you were bothering them to ask something of them oh there was one positive thing about parking in front of your room, but you could not park right because it interfer with the walk way
- Halina (4/5): - Terrible bathroom. Small not so clean room. Bedding with holes. Super loud air conditioning. Bed versus placement of A/C in window terrible.
- Tamara (2/5): No customer service - Got in around midnight and I had paid everything online and when I got the window took someone 20 minutes to come to the door. The man asked me do you have any pets and I said yes he said 15 per pet I told him I already paid on line and I don’t under stand what is going on and then I also asked him why wasn’t there any water in there pool can’t use the pool big picture of it on the hotel.com before I could say anything else he threw my license and credit card at me and started screaming cancel cancel and slammed his little door
- Sybil (6/5): Pleasant - Convenient to Silver Spring Park Weak internet with frequent drops. At intersection of 2 busy highways.
- Liuver (2/5): - I never got to stay at this place. They stole my money. The pictures are a scam, probably from when they opened. I got to the property and when I saw it I left right away and requested a refund. Of course it got denied. I rather lose 100 dollars than stay at that rat hole.
- Honaker (1/5): Bad -
- Ivan (6/5): - The staff doesn't uderstand English well. There is no tea or coffee at the reception on in the room
- Anthony (2/5): - Upon arrival the staff came off very aggressive and rude. She changed the price multiple times, I advised her that I had already paid online thru expedia and I also told her that I brought my 2 children a total of 4 guest initially that was not the plan so the reservation was for 2people. After being honest about that and willing to pay any additional fees she became enraged and started throwing things and slamming the papers on the desk yelling that "she was sick and tired of people sneaking extra people and went on a rant about how a previous person had 6 people in the room" My wife and I calmly sympathized with her and said he are being honest and most hotels that you get a room with 2 beds will allow 4guest max. She argued that their policy for a room with 2 beds was only 3 people. lol and demanded more money, but when my wife explained what was stated in the description she rudely told us if we didnt like it we could leave. (we shouldve just cancelled and left instead of allowing her to continue to disrespect us, but we were tired and just wanted to rest) finally after everything was situated we paid the extra and the key was given. We drove around the office to the room. The pool has no water, the unkeep of the property looks nothing like the photos "maybe 20-30yrs ago" the porches of the rooms most are cluttered with what appears to be long term stays, it looks unsafe outside and as we entered the room in only got worst we brought lysol but that didnt help
- Heather (2/5): - The staff at this hotel are absolutely horrific. They are running an active scam, just go and read all the one star Google reviews where they cancel people's reservations right before arrival or upon arrival and still charge them. This is exactly what they did to my brother and I who had driven 9 hours and made our reservation 2 weeks prior. We purposely chose the pay upon arrival option just in case something came up and after arriving at around 9 pm, the entire family running the place refused to open the door to the lobby and yelled at us, "no vacancy!!!" I told them I had made a reservation on Expedia and they refused to honor it and continued yelling and raising their fists at us. The man, his wife, and their mother all yelled and treated us horribly. They refused to even allow us in the lobby after our long day of travel, then proceeded to charge my account $187 for the 2 nights we booked after telling us we couldn't check in. I asked Expedia for a refund and they refused since the hotel refused. I will be pursuing legal action. I am repulsed that Expedia would allow this kind of scam and refuse to do the research that thing and refund our money. Horrible company and horrible hotel.
- Danielle (4/5): - Just overall gross
- Debra (4/5): - I didn't expect the Ritz Carlton but I did expect something better than this. It's awful, floors aren't swept, etc etc. I think you get the picture. It's just an old place.
- Barbara (10/5): - Great rooms
- barbara (4/5): - Advertised pool, no water..the office was filthy
- Janet (6/5): - Not a bad room for one night. Room was clean
- Robert (10/5): - Clean in and out friendly staff and helpful
- William (2/5): - I booked this property on expedia and I got a call the day that I was to arrive that "they did not have rooms for me". Expedia had already charged me and he said I had to contact Expedia for a refund. What a hassle that was. Makes you think twice about using expedia.
- William P (4/5): - I don't have anything good to say about this place the management are not friendly at and the place looks like something out of 1910
- rebecca (6/5): Not as photos - Got in at 7:30 boat met us at door just was using lobby as there family room. Sofa was very old not like clean like photos. Lobby smelt of incence. I walked in she asked if I wanted to see room. Okay very basic table 2 chairs and bed 2 mall bath towels not refreshed during day
- Sylvia (10/5): - Love it
- luann (4/5): - Won't stay again
- Barbara (8/5): - Easy access
- Ruth (6/5): - I liked the laid back atmosphere, locals or regulars grilling outside their rooms. The hostess was super friendly and called everybody "Mama".
- Casey (3/5): Poor - Cost Thin curtains that let lots of light in the room from all the exterior lights.
The hotel staff were difficult to reach for service.
- Cynthia (6/5): Great location, not well maintained - Check in hours inaccurate. Office closes at 9, not 11…I had to beg for them to stay open 45 minutes. Loud flooring construction still going on at 1030pm. Shower spits water in all directions. Many items broken or not maintained.
- Win Si (4/5): - Room is clean, but reception is smelly.
Breakfast not included but Expedia said included.
Noisy neighbors.
- Katheryn (10/5): Very nostalgic and charming! - Fabulous family business! The motel is quaint and nostalgic. For its price, it is a great location! It reminds me of traveling when I was young! They are doing some upgrades, so this is a great travel stopover.
- Sheila (4/5): - old, bugs in room
- James (2/5): - It was trash
- Chandler (2/5): - Very dirty nasty lobby
- Marcia (8/5): - The bedding or cleaned
- David L. (2/5): - Terrible wi-fi might as well not have any and managers son was disrespectful.
- Barbara (2/5): - Lady at desk was very rude
- Honorea (8/5): - Room office. Hair dryer not working
- Baris (2/5): Worst of my stays - Very very bad place to stay.
Old bathroom, noisy heater.
- william (2/5): Never stayed cancelled room and still got charged - Tried calling so they knew we cancelled but no one ever picked up they still charged me 190 for the rooms so not happy that I can't get a hold of them
- Edward (2/5): Not a clean place - Roaches, pool was empty, staff family overwhelmed the lobby area, breakfast not existent, lucky to get a cup of coffee.
- Tommya (1/5): It was terrible and will never ever go back to that hotel - Nothing The staff is rude the rooms was dirty they never came to give us new towels and rags then the bed kept falling because it was wood underneath like who does that it wasn’t secured either
Then the tv wasn’t working and shower was dirty had to clean it myself before we showered and after like I’m supposed to be on a vacation
- Lavaughn (4/5): Not recommended - Not so good,
- Suany (10/5): - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Kellie (2/5): - They didn’t even have my reservation. I had to scramble to find a hotel in the middle of the night. They were rude and offered no repayment for my reservation that I had booked through Expedia.
- Mark (8/5): - I expected a lot more than they had to offer
- Joshua (7/5): Good - Beds where soft and it was nice and quiet The guy behind the counter is got locked out my room after I got in from work at 2am and he was not nice and rude
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Breakfast was included in the price but not provided to us. The room was smelly.
- Rachel (2/5): don't go! - Place is old, neglected, little amenities, messy lobby, hard to navigate for the disabled, one light, no phone, 1 nigh table, dead plug, small room broken tile
- Dawn (2/5): worse than just No Frills - The desk area is a mess and the clerk/owner gave us the wrong room (already occupied). When he finally found us a room he made us go back to the office to get another key instead of offering to bring it to us. Pool is nasty and outside areas are kind of creepy and illkept. Mattresses are old and slanted due to people sitting on the edge of the bed. Felt like sleeping on a hillside. AC and wifi were marinal and we were never able to get TV working.
- DUGAN (2/5): - Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Bathroom had a couple roaches in it and the shower was basically set up for someone. That was a very small person.. water temperature could never get right it would go from cold to scalding hot on its own. It took like five minutes for it to warm up. There’s no outlet to really plug-in a phone charger. They have people living there full-time who are making noise all night long or you can’t even get no rest, the bed were actually uncomfortable crunchy when you sat down on it
- Jennifer (2/5): - I guess I should have known considering the price but my experience was the worst to date. I was there to check in late at night and there was a sign that said no hot water taped to the door. The man who came out was hard to understand, very short tempered, and insisted there was hot water. The photos are very misleading, the lobby photos must have been taken many years ago when the furniture was new and the outside recently painted. The pool is empty and sad looking. The air was musty upon entering, the beds are in those frames that are larger than the mattress so my 87 year old father almost broke a hip tripping over them not to mention the multiple bruises he has on his shins from banging into the corners. The bathroom had an old soap in it from a previous person. You were given only one towel per person in the room and they were thin so I was not dry when I got dressed. One of the lights over the bed didn't work. The faucets handles were missing their inserts that specified if they were cold or hot. Although not necessary to label, that kind of uncapped item would be hard to sanitize and is unsightly. The only thing positive is that the sheets seemed to be clean and it was quiet, although I think we disrupted that due to my father's continued injuries. 0/10 do not recommend unless you are in desperate need to crash and not concerned about any of the above items.
- Jacqueline (2/5): Lie lie lie - We booked this hotel based on the advertised amenities, location and photos. Unfortunately, everything advertised was a lie. They said they had a complimentary Continental breakfast, that was a lie. They said they were located inside Silver springs State park, that was a lie. All the photos that were on the site were lies. We had no hot water, ac didn't work properly, hair dryer didn't work, no phone to connect to a service desk, room looked morning like photos, staff that didn't care that they weren't offering what their advertisement said and didn't speak/ understand English well. Very frustrated!!
- Barbara (8/5): - Rooms are clean staff is friendly
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Did not stay the night due to the unsafe area and the dirtyness of the motel
- Robert (2/5): - Dirty, rundown place. Pool was empty, staff were rude and indifferent. Never again
- Roger (2/5): - I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but this was not a good experience. (My compliments to the photographer for making it look better than it was. Very deceiving). I thought it was going to be a nostalgic throwback to the glory days of Silver Springs. Wrong.
There was no breakfast or even coffee, the pool is closed and not maintained, there was a table and two chairs in the room, but nothing else for furniture or decor, very noisy window A/C window unit. The only thing that looked updated was the bed itself which was NOT the "best bed in town" as they advertise. Matter of fact, if you have issues with your back, it could be especially bad. On the plus side there was cable TV, so, there's that. I think some of the guests were "extended stay" which is usually not a good sign for small motels, but we didn't have any problems with the other guests. The worst thing was that the staff treated us less like motel guests and more like intruders in their house.
I hate to be so negative, but this is the truth.
- Tim (6/5): - It was good, just used to sleep at night.
- Cara Lee (4/5): - No ice or vending machines, wouldn't let have but 1 trash can, second day couldn't even get clean towels or empty trash, got mad with me when asked for toilet paper 2nd as they said were 2 rolls when got there but was only 1... Otherwise for price was ok.
- Monika (10/5): - The facilities are old but the rooms clean and comfy with great air conditioning and great hot water for showering. It was very peaceful and quiet and we all slept great! For this we highly recommend. Also family run! We came here to go kayaking at Silver Spring which is almost walking distance and we would come and stay here again!
- jeremy (2/5): - This place is nothing like the photos. The lobby seems lived in, the pool was drained, there were stains and hair on our sheets and had to
- mary (2/5): - Tha place had a bad odor and no water in the pool
- Henrik (1/5): Bad - We never stayed refused the facility. Property dilapidated and poorly runned by owners. The lobby was treated as a family room by operators and a young boy climbed on the furniture and shoes were all over the place. The lobby smelled like food. The pool didn't have water and all patio furniture were stacked up in a pile in a corner. Several guests sat by doors smoking cigarettes and my wine didn't feel safe staying there. Booking.com should not promote this kind of logging that are not up to standards. Operator admitted other guest demanded a refund due to disatisfaction leaving the property after a night's stay. We had a very poor experience. Guests be aware! Everything
- June (8/5): Concert travels - The microwave didn’t work but they changed out asap it’s an old motel and some people live there but our stay was great . Ice machine doesn’t work overall it’s cheap and was the closest to to concerts we were going to I would be glad to stay there again .
- Edward (6/5): - The place just seemed old. The photo showing the front of the property must have been taken when the place had just been painted. The lobby door is always locked.
I was surprised to see garage style epoxy (with the sprinkles on the floor) instead of carpeting. Furniture style was not of this decade. Century, either. AC seemed to have a hard time keeping up. The mattress was much softer than I like. (I did not ask if they had a room with a more firm mattress, though)
When my key card quit working early Saturday morning, around 7:00-7:30, staff came out finally (remember, lobby door is locked) in her pajamas and not saying nice things (in her native language).
Should I need a room in Silver Springs in the future, I think I will choose a different location.
- George (6/5): - Room was clean but could use updating.
- Jenn (2/5): - I originally reserved a Queen room and when I got there. She informed me that some of the rooms have lost power and they did not have any more Queen rooms available. So I had to go with a 2 double bedroom. And instead of compensating me or giving me something off the room, she charged me the same amount and she was very rude and not to mention the room needed work, the walls needed to be painted. The door was rotted on the bottom. The shower water was cold. It just was not a good room at all. And if we had not checked in so late, we would have went to another hotel. So if you're trying to decide whether or not to stay here, don't waste your time
- Carol (4/5): - This property was poorly maintained. The lobby was being used as a living room for the owner's family. Very messy. Room itself was very scarce and old, but did appear clean. Bed was okay.
- Jenn (2/5): - We reserved a queen bed room but i guess some of The room's lost power. So without even notifying me. They said oh, we just can't give you that Queen room. We have to give you a 2 double bed room which i didnt want and tbey still charged me the same price. The shower water temp sucked due to it being cold and the lady at the front desk was very rude and the inside of the room needed work badly. Do not stay here. Very disappointed And if it wasn't so late when we arrived to check in, we would have went to another hotel
- David (1/5): Bad -
- Charles (6/5): - The beds were worn out. Only 2 towels for 4 people. I asked for a receipt and the lady refused to give me one
- Beverly (6/5): - Rooms are kinda outdated for the price.
Lamp in the room didn’t even have a shade on it. Had to wake the staff up at 3 am because door key didn’t work.
- ANDY (4/5): - The website and brochure portray an image of a refurbished, retro, 1960's style motel, but the reality is completely different. The pool is closed and damaged. The playground, picnic area and fire pit area are dilapidated. The grounds are unkept and neglected. Many of the people there were residents, rather than travellers, and in one occasion, I had to go out and yell at them for drinking and playing music after quiet hours. The owners disconnected their phone, so we couldn't lodge a complaint. On the plus size, the room was clean, and we did receive proper service
- Daimelys (10/5): - No complain
- Jeanne V (10/5): Fair stay - Check in went smooth! Strong smell of bleach, wifi non existent, hair dryer in room not working the one time I decided not to bring mine. Other than that it was okay!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay good for the price. - It was clean and inexpensive. It seemed safe. There's a lot of road noise and the window coverings and DOOR let in a bit too much light on the perimeter of the windows and door. The shower did not work and the temperature of the water was not very warm. For the money it was okay.
- William (8/5): - Property needs to be neater
- Diandra (2/5): - Out dated and husband left shorts and wallet and they didn’t call us and wen we went back they had brown his shorts away and had his wallet didn’t even had the curiosity to call to tell us and they where rude
- Dawn (8/5): - It was sufficient. C lean, no bugs, safe neighborhood.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Sun Plaza Hotel - While the room was dated, it was very clean. It provided a no frills room at a reasonable price. Maintaining a decent internet connection was the only problem we encountered.
- Randall (2/5): Terrible motel. - Worst motel we have ever been in. Booked for three nights but left after one night. Sheets dirty, shower head rusty, shower door off rollers, no breakfast, rude staff, don't stay here at any price.
- Johann (4/5): - It only looked good on pictures. Reception office doors locked, check in had to be done through a hole in the wall and it was only 9pm.
In the posting on expidia it said breakfast included, but not even coffee in the morning.
The bed was good though.
- Jason (4/5): - Upon check-in the building has a old bleach smell. The rooms are so strong with the smell we had to air out for hours before closing the door. Dated rooms ,small tv ,poor ventilation. Would not recommend wasting your time. traffic noise sounds like its being played over loud speakers.
- Kisha (10/5): - I like it from staff to cleanliness to area all I ❤️❤️❤️ in my book thank you sun plaza
- Dana (10/5): - Great location , clean and very reasonable
- Chipman (10/5): Relaxing and comfortable - The rooms are very clean bed was very comfortable. It's hard to find safe and clean. Nothing my stay was very nice
- Sharla (3/5): Poor - Clean Very rude management. Wil
- Danny (5/5): Passable -
- R6611AIcarloso (2/5): Run, Run, away from this place - Worst place you could ever stay at. Pictures are from a time when the hotel was renovated. Not the real thing. You will find dirt wherever you go. Front desk doesn’t exist. Owners are from India and don’t speak English and they will scream at you and hung up the phone. If you arrive after 11:00 PM good luck finding a new hotel bc the front desk will be closed. The pool is empty and closed. Ice machine has not worked for years. The fabulous continental breakfast pictures that they show in their website is from another universe bc they don’t serve breakfast at all not even coffee.
Hotel has not been maintained for years, everything is rusted and decaying.
- Carlos (2/5): - Pictures for the hotel are from 10 years ago when someone renovated it. Hotel is managed by some Hindu people who don’t speak English. Check in closes at 11:00. Hotel staff was rude and hinged up the phone when I tried to find out at what time I could arrive. No continental breakfast at all not even hot coffee. Pool was empty. Outdated. Dirty.
- Michael (2/5): - I didnt check in place is not what is on the website. Do not go to this place.dirty.no pool, and homeless people on site around area.not safe
- Michael (2/5): - Theirvisca half inch gap under the the front door..So bugs can get in..Ice box was broken for months, I saw roaches
- Debra Stefani (2/5): This place is as nasty as they get - The lady checking us in was nasty as could be. They have full time residents in most of the units, very bad and unsafe motel. Cussing and partying of the residents. Was the THE ABSOLUTE WORST STAY WE'VE EVER HAD. Stay way away from this hell hole. Pictures look nice, that that's not reality of this sleezy motel. We should have left and got a refund, but only stayed for a few hours to rest and then leave.
- Edward (1/5): Bad -
- Wayne (2/5): - The property was dingy and gross. I don't know if it's Expedia or the property that set the price for that room, but it was way overpriced. Not worth $135 a night. I might as well have stayed at the Hilton down the street. Unbelievable.
