Guest Reviews
- Barbara (8/5): - Evergreen Inn is an older motel with all the basics needed for a comfortable night's rest. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were within a short walking distance of places to eat. It was also a very quiet location.
- Timothy (10/5): - When I initially looked at the price I figured the place might be a dump. But then I noticed it had the highest ratings of motels in the area. All we wanted was a comfortable bed and a place to shower. That's what the Evergreen Inn is. No pool, no breakfast, no exercise room... Perfect! The beds were very comfortable, the towels were soft, not scratchy. One of the nicest older motels I've ever stayed in.
- April (10/5): Awesome motel - It was a great motel everything worked in the room and it was very clean and it was close to Walmart and restaurants.we really enjoyed our stay at evergreen inn
- Casey (10/5): - Friendly staff, good price!
- Scottie (10/5): - ALWAYS
AWESOME!!!!!!!
👍
SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I Owe Wsy!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Richard (10/5): - Wonderful staff, easy check in & out. Comfortable and Clean place to stay!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Step back in time! - We stayed one night on our way to the Iowa State Fair. Room was clean but dated. The bed had a distinct sag in the center, I spent the night rolling into my husband everytime I turned over!
Check was at 4 pm when the front desk staff person opened up. She was quite friendly and very chatty. The only serious downside was finding some spiders here and there (shower and nightstand). Right on the main drag going thru town (Hwy 34). Easy in and out but you do get quite a bit of traffic noise.
Price was surprisingly inexpensive!
All told, we'd stay here again :)
- Bob (10/5): Good Place to stay - We've stayed here several times before. It's great for a couple of days while visiting the area.
- Cristobal (10/5): - Everyone was extremely helpful. Great service and great stay all together.
- Kathy (6/5): - Lots of noise in area …. Need new pillows
- RONALD (10/5): - Friendly staff. Small room, but exceptionally clean.
- Lois (8/5): - .
- Howard (8/5): - We spent the night here while traveling Home. Nothing Fancy and a bit Small. But we were comfortable and slept well . An older Property but well maintained. Everything worked. Good stay for the Price.
- Cathy (10/5): - Great place, great place. Highly recommend
- Scottie (10/5): - This Place ROCKS!!!!!!!!
- Nathan (10/5): - Let me start off by saying I cannot give enough stars for the Evergreen Inn. The property is located near food and shopping facilities, and has Wi-Fi for guests. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The room though small looks well maintained, and wonderfully decorated, and the bed is exceptionally comfortable. This is definitely where I will be staying every time I pass through from now on.
- Shelley (8/5): - It was a little difficult to park a large pickup. Otherwise, it was fine.
- Frazer (10/5): Just Right! - Good, clean and just right! Great staff, very welcoming and helpful.
- Jill (8/5): - Very nice staff willing to help. A little old, but adequate.
- todd (10/5): - Nice place
. No problems
- Mark (10/5): - My 5 star review is based entirely on customer service. We had reserved a room but we're called on check-in day to explain that our room had a problem and was unavailable. Further, they were completely booked. They asked if we would mind if we arranged a stay at another in town facility at their cost to cover our inconvenience. We agreed, we were happy with the alternate site and we will try again to use the Evergreen on our next stay.
- Ellen A (10/5): - Close to Amtrak station where we were traveling next day. 1940s vive. Someone smoking outside room air conditioner early in evening, could smell in room.
- Marlene (8/5): - Friendly lady at check-in very helpful quick check-in. The rooms are small cozy but clean. Overall was a good experience
- Vernon (2/5): - This place is off the charts bad,, it's very very old, and way outdated. Not as represented in the pictures at all. We could not stay in the room, it was very mold smelling, very very old and outdated. We did not stay in the room at all, we went down the road and purchased a room at the Quality Inn for the two night stay in Oceola. I recommend Expedia drop this place from your site it really bad and creepy.
- Susanne (8/5): - Was ok. No dead bolt on door
- Grant (10/5): - Wonderful hotel very clean, quiet & cozy! Super easy check in as well, the staff is great!
- Velvet (10/5): - Great service, clean room
- Mark (10/5): - It's straight out of the 60's. Quaint, like going back in time. Super clean. Staff couldn't be nicer.
- michael (10/5): - beds where nice rooms clean
- Don (6/5): Ugh! - Outside was dirty!!
- Lester (10/5): - Great owners. Convenient. Close to the city square. Rooms are nice. Clean. Exactly how Midwest motels should be in a small town. Quite. Safe. Would recommend.
- Claire (10/5): - Safe, quiet, and clean. Staff was very friendly! One might say the rooms are a bit outdated but everything worked perfectly fine so I have no complaints.
- Tara (10/5): - It was an amazing stay, except the bed was kind of uncomfortable, but everything else was great
- Audrey (10/5): - Love that it is so safe and clean and quiet. Very accommodating in every way.
- Kimberly (10/5): - This was a very cute and clean mom and pop place. Has everything you need. Super friendly staff.
- Melvin (8/5): - It was what I wanted for my trip.
- Benjamin (6/5): - Bare bones room. Help was good. The price was right for what you got.
- Greg (8/5): - Staff was very accommodating! For an older motel everything was neat and tidy.
- ann (10/5): - The staff were so friendly, and went the extra mile to be sure of our comfort.
The room was so cute and the bed was really comfortable. The shower had a nice spray head.
- Nathan (10/5): Great! - Very kind people own and run this. Very comfortable and you are always taken care of no matter what you need. Thanks!
- David (6/5): - Very nice staff. Not enough lights in the room. Toilet was a little bit funky. It was very hard to get the shower water to a appropriate temperature - either too hot or too cool.
- Tina (10/5): Nice,reasonable motel - Everything was fine.
- Charles (10/5): - Great old mom and pop style motel. Quaint, clean not up to date room. Very comfortable. Passing through and stayed extra days.
- Roxanne (10/5): - Room clean and provided what was needed...a good night rest before more travel.
- Curt (10/5): Quaint Motel - Very quaint motel!
- Luanne E (6/5): - Around midnight, heard children messing around out side my door, then heard a dog barking/whining for a long time, had to call the office and report it. It was a while before the dog noise disappeared.
- Susan (10/5): Would stay again - The room was very clean and comfortable.
- Melissa (10/5): - Needs some fresh paint and an updated a/c, and the numbers redone on the outside of the door. The a/c had a hard time keeping up the small room and it’s not even summer yet. But it’s a good price and a quaint little place. Staff were really friendly for my check in.
- larry (4/5): - the office is only manned 4-8 pm......awful check in poor parking poor maintenance
- Edward (10/5): - Very nice affordable place.
- Adrian (8/5): - Friendly staff and accommodating. Older travel lodge that's well maintained.
- Lawrence (10/5): - Small but nice room
- Robert (10/5): Nice Place - A very nice and clean place to stay on an extremely cold January night.
- Tricia (8/5): - We were on a road trip and needed a room for the night. Very pleasant drive up motel. Clean, convenient and friendly staff. Nu ce think towels.
- Lisa (10/5): - Staff is very friendly and rooms are affordable. The property is very clean.
- Marilyn (10/5): - This place is adorable and clean and cozy and fun vibe. Excellent family run business!
- Jennifer (10/5): - You cannot beat the price for the cleanliness and comfort of this quaint roadside motel. Will continue to stay here when I am passing through and recommend you give it a chance!
- Tammy (8/5): - Very neat little place. If you are looking for that 1960's little motel this is the place. Nothing fancy, great water pressure in the shower!!
- Terese (10/5): - The room was small but very clean, the bed was comfortable. Very nice stay for the cost. Friendly staff, check-in was simple & convenient.
- Connie (8/5): - simple and clean
- Julio (8/5): - Simple, clean, perfect
- Rick (10/5): - Very clean very friendly will definitely stay here again
- Thor (10/5): - Absolutely an awesome place to stay. It is like taking a trip back in time to the 1950s and 60s. The place was very clean and updated with a tile shower and a comfortable bed. Would stay again without question.
- Robert (10/5): - We have stayed at the Evergreen Inn previously. It is simple, it is clean. The woman at the front desk is courteous, friendly, with a good sense of humor.
- Thor (10/5): True Gem - Great place to stay. Stayed 1 night and then the next night i drove 1 hour back to stay again. This place is a true gem and i would highly recommended it to anyone staying in the area.
- Julie (10/5): - This is a 12 room motor court remodeled for inclusion of updated lighting, tv, wi-fi. microwave, fridge and coffee maker but using retro furnishings.
Park at your door. No hallways and extra facilities. Homey, not fru-fru.
Family that runs it is genuinely concerned that you enjoy your stay. It is not just a job... it is their livelyhood and they seem passionate about it.
- Vicki (10/5): - Quick stop for a few hours rest. Very convenient for us
- Marla (10/5): Late Night Arrival - Stopover. Made virtual check in arrangements. Very nice people. Room was quaint and great. Will stop again if ever in area.
- Ann (10/5): - My go-to place when I am traveling through the area with my dogs. Friendly, clean, safe, and park-in-front access.
- Patricia (8/5): - Mattress could use updating or a topper
- Alicia (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay, clean comfortable and very friendly staff. Great price, would definitely stay again.
- Carol (6/5): Great, except for one thing. - Very nice room, comfortable bed, clean. Owner kind. Only one problem was that the air conditioner made a screeching sound every time it came on. Couldn't sleep. Dog whined--high pitched sounds are hard on their sensitive hearing. I finally turned it off at 3:00 am and got some sleep. I think a bearing is going out on it. Room 10
- J (10/5): Cozy, safe, and accommodating! - Great service! Simple but very clean. Love that this is locally owned and will definitely stay again to support the community. Twila was so accommodating and a joy to talk to. Great stay for a great price!
- Rita (8/5): - Room was cozy and clean. If I had my tools, I would have cut out the volunteer trees growing higher than the shrub hedge.
- Ronald (10/5): - Always great staying here. Been here many times. And will again.
- Ronald (10/5): - It’s a great place for a traveling overnight stay. Property beginning to show some age. One support beam bent over, could use a little paint. But so far a great place to spend an overnight stay.
- George (8/5): Nice Stay - Beautiful little spot to rest, relax, and recoup from a long drive.
- Brent (8/5): - Pet
friendly
- Cheryle (8/5): - Nice, but very small
- Richard (8/5): - Nice rooms in an old roadside motel. Staff was great but slightly late for check time. Heard a lot of banging and slamming probably coming from an adjacent room? Bathroom was very nice for such an old motel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owner was really nice and helped with any questions we had. The place is definitely worth the price.
- Bob (8/5): Nice place to stay - It's a nice little motel. We have stayed here several times. The only complaint is that one of us thought the mattress was a little too soft.
- Andrea (8/5): Comfy beds, cute town - Not luxurious, but perfectly comfortable after a long day of driving. There is what a fridge and microwave. The only improvement would be better soap and shampoo in the shower, and softer towels.
- Charles (10/5): - Very affordable and clean. Really nice owners.
- Tammie (8/5): Nice place - Nice little place, quite clean. Check in process was a bit different, had to call phone number to register and receive room lock pass code. Was quick though, would stay again if I came through the area again.
- Robin (10/5): Comfortable and affordable! - We had a very nice stay at the Evergreen Inn. Our one night was a stopover on our way home from vacation. We couldn’t have asked for a friendlier greeting and helpful checkin. I’d stay there again without hesitation.
- Leigha (10/5): - Loved my stay here and the many times before that I've stayed. Always friendly and great clean rooms
- Randy (10/5): - Quite. Nice people
- Patricia (10/5): - The lady was very welcoming. Rustic decor suited me- it could have more… new bathroom hardware was a bit too modern for the decor.
I really appreciated the natural soaps, coffee, comfy bed and hot shower after a 3 hour drive. The AC and neighbors were not noisy…
But it’s a shame the property is on a busy street/highway not a rural setting.
I would stay there again, especially at the budget of less than $100/night.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Great value. Will definitely stay again when I’m the area.
- Michael (10/5): - The evergreen met all our needs! Staff super friendly, very clean and the prices were great!
- TIFFANY (10/5): - Staff was awesome! Room was clean, super cute and comfortable
- susan (10/5): - The room was very clean and staff very nice and accomodating. Is very old units. Not alot of space and beds were not that comfortable. Overall it was fine for our overnight between destinations.
- Bruce (10/5): Worked for me - Old school throwback roadside motel. Met my expectations, local ownership shows pride, and hospitality in cleanliness and detail. Older style might not be for everyone, but I was pleased. Super location close to downtown.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Would stay there again for a safe convenient stay. But AC was constantly cycling and very loud.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Customer service was top tier! Biggest downside is its traditional “motel” set-up with just lines of doors to the outside. It’s not the safest option, but as long as you know, it’s all good. Room was small but comfortable and clean.
- Perry (10/5): - We had a very pleasant and budget friendly stay. Recommended.
- Jeff (8/5): - Attractive price
- Craig (8/5): By gone era. - A well kept route 66 motel, not seedy.
- Brooke (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Felt cozy and safe.
