• Sinomen23 (6/5): Mold in room - We have stayed here for years and this year, something is off with the hotel. When we got in our room there was an air freshener on the vent. I put it outside right away as they give me head aches. Later I went in the bed room and was like it smells like mold. Maybe the air conditioner. It rained and room 205 walk way floods, no other room we walked past had all that water. Like a good bit of water. It's 2025 and not one usb port... I saw only one roach but it's whatever with that. The pools were fun for the kids. That's damn mildew... Found it the day we were leaving. Maybe a new hotel next year. 14 years of staying here.... Mold.... Do better. Update your rooms.

• Saundra (8/5): Just Chilling - Jim was a wonderful staff member leading me to believe this hotel really wants to please their guests. The room itself was a little outdated. I had a cracked lampshade that is crumbling to pieces. A kitchen cabinet door had some problem. Also thought the number of extension cords used was a little odd. My room was quiet and the view was awesome.

We ended up with a room very similar to our room we’ve had several years in a row. Very friendly staff and non intrusive. Pool was cleaned daily and warm… condo was can and comfortable. The beds were comfortable. Decor was minimal tasteful and cute ☺️. Overall very satisfied with our stay.
• Sheresa (10/5): Perfect! - The place was very clean, up to date, and in the perfect location. The only thing that could be different is the size of the bedroom tv could be a bit bigger and if they could be smart TVs. I have no complaints about my stay here.
• Kellie (8/5): - Unfortunately, the mold all over the room was an issue. We did have a room with a kitchenette, and you can tell they don't check on any of the kitchen items for cleanliness. We did have to *scrub* everything down before getting to use them; normally a simple wash and rinse would be expected. Damprid containers everywhere and the two dehumidifiers were full as we entered the room... so those clearly didn't get checked/emptied/replaced. We've stayed in rooms that have been hit with moisture before but you could tell the properties had maintained drying them out before placing back in renter use; they didn't seem too phased here and just said "you can't do much about that." Actuality, the last one we stayed at brought in a massive machine to pull water out of the room when we got hit with a unusually bad storm that flooded the room on top of discounting our stay for the inconvenience of them cleaning the room when we weren't even in it. The general floors outside of the room seem well kept, as was the main floor and the multitude of pools/hot tubs. The options for swimming were wonderful! It was one of the two main reasons we chose to stay there. The other was for the view, which was a bit of a letdown to learn that oceanview meant an angled view. Would be great to add the detail of being angled view on those particular rooms (which is the vast majority of them it seems). Last note: its next to public access and LOUD ice cream trucks come through NONSTOP nearly every 30min-1hr.

The only complaint is the smell of the carpets besides that everything else was great. Thank you it was my 1st time in Myrtle Beach and my experience was amazing we will definitely be back soon.

• Sonja (8/5): - First room the first night was very dated and beds were terrible. Too hard for sleeping, even the sofa bed. My husband slept in the recliner the first night. I called the next morning and spoke with Georgianna, who was EXTREMELY pleasant and helpful. We were moved to a very nice suite that was more like a what I was expecting. Beds were a little firm but nothing like the first room. We would stay in this particular suite again.

• peggyhV3210GN (4/5): Not a place for senior citizens! - Two widows traveling alone and when I read the rave reviews we booked immediately. I had called ahead and was told someone would be available to assist us with our luggage. 🤔 That did not happen even though we checked in on weekday. The room 605 could use new mattresses. Our beds dipped in the middle. The bedside lamp cords would most likely fail a fire inspection. Very few outlets, which was an issue for medical equipment. Oh, all luggage racks are stored somewhere else in the building, not in the lobby! I sincerely hope we just picked a bad week. We will not be back.

They people at the front desk are always very helpful and very professional. They are they reason we keep coming back there.
• Cesar (6/5): - They need to upgrade the interiors,the condo we stayed had shower drain problems but is because ist was full of hair ,construction materials were under de bed and lights and ceiling fan were not working properly. The smell in the interior was not nice at all so i had to buy odor eliminator and cleaning products. 5/10 this property the only thing i found great was the location is right next to the beach. I would not come back again.

• Raenalyn May (6/5): - Pros: Location: The hotel is right on the beach, which is a major plus. Easy beach access and just a short drive to restaurants, shopping, and local attractions. Kitchen: The in-room kitchen was fairly well equipped, with decent utensils and appliances for light cooking, which added some convenience to our stay. Cons: Room Condition: The room had a unpleasant smell when we arrived which eventually went away when the ac was turned on. It felt dated overall, with visible wear and tear. Cleanliness: The couch and drapes were stained, and the drawers also had an odor. These issues made the room feel less clean and comfortable than expected. Bathroom Maintenance: On our last night, the tub began draining slowly and eventually stopped draining entirely around 1 a.m. We called the front desk, but were told maintenance wouldn’t be available until 6–7 a.m.—which was frustrating, especially given the late hour and our early checkout. Fortunately, my hubby found a way to make the drain work. Overall: While the beachfront location and kitchen were definite highlights, the condition of the room and the delayed maintenance response were disappointing. With some updates and stronger attention to cleanliness and service responsiveness, this property could offer a much better guest experience. As it stands, I’d only recommend it to those who prioritize location over comfort.

My only complaint was owner of the unit we stayed didn't pay the power bill and our power went out but the staff offered to move us to another unit. After contacting the owner the power was restored and we got a credit. Overall unit 210 was a very nice room and didn't smell!

• veronicacN8113ME (2/5): Terrible Hotel Don’t book here - False Advertising and Health Hazard — Do Not Stay Here We arrived at Carolina Winds expecting what we saw online. What we got was a nightmare. The first room was filthy, and the second one wasn’t better. We dealt with urine and mildew smells, visible sex stains on the bedding, moldy furniture, and even saw a roach. The “ocean view” was really just a brick wall. We ended up sleeping in our car because we couldn’t take it anymore. We also noticed that bad reviews with photos are being filtered out. My boyfriend’s review never showed up. This hotel is not what it claims to be — don’t be fooled.
• Veronica (2/5): Terrible Hotel - Worst Stay Ever — Avoid Carolina Winds First room was filthy, second room smelled like urine and mildew. Furniture was covered in mold, and one bed had sex stains. Saw a roach. “Ocean view” was actually a brick wall. We had to sleep in our car. This hotel filters negative reviews — my boyfriend’s review never posted. Extremely disappointed. Stay away.
• Aloha (6/5): - The property was not on the beach like I expected but it was only a short walk away. There is a Dollar General walking distance which was helpful as we thought of things needed. The room was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans etc. However, it lacked things like dish, detergent, hand soap, dish cloth, trash bags etc. Also the bedding on one of the beds wasn't clean and the washer had a weird smell.

• Ronald (6/5): - Don't go during Memorial Weekend, it was terrible!!! Couldn't sleep because of the loud music and ribbing up of motorcycle engines on up to 3 A.M. There should had been a noise curfew. We were in a room across from the parking deck. The mattress was hard and appeared to be a decade old. We would had left if we could have gotten a refund. Not staying there again.

• 128anessas (10/5): WONDERFUL HOTEL TUCKED BACK IN QUIETNESS - Loved the location of this hotel. Tucked back away from all the noise and traffic. Front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. Clean entrance to hotel and throughout. The unit we stayed in (3 bedroom) was very nice. There was a couple little tiny things that could be updated but all in all in was a really nice stay for myself and family. Will be coming back again next year!

The overall hotel was very nice and clean in the lobby and in the hallways to the elevators the pool was also nice and clean, but our actual room 1004 was very musty. There was mold on some light fixtures some cabinets every time you sit on the commode it would Shake because it was not bolted to the floor. The beds mattresses were very uncomfortable and we didn’t sleep well the entire time the air in the room was uncomfortable, but the biggest issue with our stay was the smell of the room. It was very musty and moldy, and as soon as we walked in, it was a little harder to breathe. We’ve already paid for the property, so there was no way to move our stay anywhere else. We also had to ask for a new coffee maker because the one that was there was so rusted it didn’t seem safe to use.

We originally booked a two bedroom oceanfront and we were placed in the side building which is three buildings deep from the ocean and not a very good view. We were a little disappointed by this since it was advertised showing us in a room in the main building with a good view. The 3 bedroom we ended up staying in was nice, although I feel like the linens could be updated. I kept having to redo the mattress pad because it kept falling off.

Room was very dirty, beds were like sleeping on a board, fridge didn’t keep nothing froze or very cold, under furniture had never been cleaned it appeared, room smelt awful. Saved money by cooking a delicious breakfast for the family with a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean from the 6th floor. Extended family also joined us and we liked the early rates and the price! The best part was the great washer and dryer! There were no dirty clothes to clean because I did them every night! Beach towels were cleaned and ready for next trip!! Having separate TV’s in the bedrooms worked well with having grandkids.

• David (8/5): - We had two units. Our first unit was outdated. Feet were constantly black from bare feet in the unit. AC was ok for 70 degrees but would never make it any warmer. Beds were extremely hard and tub missing coating. View was gorgeous. Second room was the opposite. More modern with beautiful decor but less of a view. Pools were well heated so able to use despite a cool wind. And largest we have stayed at. Indoor pool is tiny with no loungers. There is no maid service unless requested...take out your own garbage, request bags, request new towels etc. Overall I would stay again if it was the best value but not otherwise. The onsite restaurant and convenience store no longer exist to when I say dining options I mean lots by uber.

• MikieJ34 (8/5): Still my happy place - I've stayed here for the past 15 years. This is the first time a room 4. 804. Room 4 on every level the door is in the living room. Years back they made the owners update the sliders. I think it's time to update the bedroom windows. Room was decent. Beds were comfortable with plenty of storage. Newer furniture in the living room as well. The refrigerator was painted with the "Landlord Special". There was no disposal in the kitchen sink. The balcony was way too busy with 4 chairs & 2 tables. The tub drains S L O W. I used 2 large bottles of drain-o & it did not help. Water is over ankle deep by the time you are done with a shower.

The beach is amazing with lots of space and you can walk for as long as you want on it. Some days are good for shelling too :)

Great size for family vacation. Although it’s not as new as some properties, it’s very nice and clean. Would definitely here again.

• Pioneer645161 (4/5): Not as Expected - Stay away from room 708. Not only is it dated, but the furniture and carpet were dirty. There were throws across the backs of the chairs to cover the stains. The cushions on the balcony chairs were coming apart. Each unit is decorated uniquely, but this unit has stuff stuck everywhere. There was a stackable w/d in the bedroom closet with stuff piled all around and even stored in both! We felt safe and the interactions we had with staff were amicable, but we wouldn’t recommend this place. At least not this unit. The place had plenty of availability (and on our floor); not sure why they stuck us in 708.

• robertch994 (10/5): Great Vacation Resort - Great place to stay. We’ve been staying there close to 30 years great staff very friendly and always ready to help. All of our kids and their families are staying once or twice a year. Plenty of places to see and do. We’re already making reservations for 2025.
• taz1959 (8/5): Shaky start, great ending! - Was ready to rate this a 1 star when we got there, the first room we were given 410 was in very bad shape, smelled very musty/old, all of the furniture and flooring was worn and dusty, and the heat in the bedroom when turned on smelled like something was burning and made your eyes water. The view was more ocean view, not ocean front. Stay away from this room! BUT, when we filled out our arrival survey they immediately contacted us, and offered a MUCH better room on the 11th floor. We looked at it and was was a BIG improvement, much cleaner, nicer, and the view was much much better! Comfortable King bed, and really felt much more at home. We did notice the pool and area around it was very clean, every morning you could see them working on it. We did not go in, but would have had no hesitation to do so. Front desk was always willing to help and answer any questions, very friendly. Would be a 5 star but bathroom had a little mold on ceiling, and kitchen floor had some floor connectors missing. Would still stay there again, beach view and sound of waves very relaxing!

Condo was very clean and in a very nice location with an excellent view. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay here again in the future.

Has all the amenities i need, pools and hot tubs are great. Been staying there for twelve years. Always excited to come back any time of the year.

• Daniya (10/5): Relaxing Carolina Winds - It's quieter on this end of Myrtle Beach. My husband and I took a weekend trip. The room was nice, clean, and spacious (as usual). The location is ocean front and there's a nice side angle of the beach in the 1 bedroom suite which can easily and comfortably accommodate 2 couples. I enjoyed everything. Keep up the great work Carolina Winds. We will be back again!!
• samanthabB9772QN (10/5): The Best Spot in MB - We come here each year and are always sad to have to leave. Every room has an ocean view, the staff work hard to maintain the nice property, and the pool and lazy river are warm. The beach is not crowded and this area of MB is really calm and has lots of good restaurants and stores close by.
• Michael (8/5): - It was not over crowded at the time of our stay at the end of September - October. Facility grounds, pool was always clean. Onsite Restaurant closed. Many restaurants close by!! My family and l would stay here again!!
• philipmU4270JU (6/5): 3 bedroom condo - Resort itself is kept up well despite being 40yrs old. Great location with awesome views of the ocean. Our room was very clean but needed serious updates. All new bedding needed from mattresses to comforters. Also kitchen and bathroom cabinets in poor shape.
