Guest Reviews
- Jeff (8/5): - Great location and facilities were clean and comfortable Addition of breakfast would have been welcome
- Wendy Janette (10/5): It was easy to find and get around town - Clean and well maintained.
- Deryk (9/5): - N/A Very pleasurable
- William (7/5): -
- Kelly (8/5): A conveniently located, a charming and decent option for a short stay. - The hotel was a solid choice for a one-night stay. The location was convenient (everything was walking distance with convenient store next to it) and made getting around easy, which was a big plus. The room had everything we needed and was comfortable enough for a short stay. The only downside was the mattress, which could use an upgrade for better comfort. Overall, a decent stay that works well if you’re just passing through. The mattress was a little uncomfortable compared to other places we have stayed but it’s still nice for one night stay.
- Manu (10/5): -
- Paul (10/5): Perfect location for me! - The quiet
- Guest (1/5): - The tub was dirty and staff didn't seem to care or provide any type of refund. The jet tub is why I picked this hotel
- MARK (8/5): Overall very good place to stay. - Location was great and was central to a lot of towns around Baddeck. Breakfast one morning took over half an hour and sometimes they were out of ingredients for breakfast items.
- Janice (10/5): -
- Guy (6/5): Make sure your room is at the far end of the building - Good location, amenities such as a nice bar. My room was in the area of a large fridge, apparently producing tons of ice cubes for the bar late into the night. The fridge’s engine is like a big turbine. So I didn’t really sleep well.
Maybe it’s the case for just a couple of rooms, but, tough, I was in one of them at full price.
- Guest (10/5): -
- Faland (8/5): - The location is ideal for walking to restaurants, coffee shops, waterfront and across from the information center.
- Trudy (8/5): Had a good time - The restaurant
- Pardy (8/5): -
- Barry (7/5): Probably not staying again - Good location Room full of flies and restaurant not open
- denise (9/5): -
- Guest (8/5): - I liked the locations,but restaurant was closed.
- Karen (5/5): - Location is close to restaurants and shops. After we started to check in with the hostess, she took a call and left us waiting for a while as she dealt with making a reservation for someone. I’ve never had that poor experience while checking into a lodging before. Also the room appears not to be updated in decades.
- Edward (9/5): Very enjoyable - Of a V good standard.
Breakfast fine.
Location central & convenient. Nothing comes to mind other than MORE stairs for an 86yo with luggage.
- Das Gieiyanna (7/5): -
- Hariharan Nagarajan (8/5): - The breakfast in resturant was awesome though it is not compliementary
- Guest (9/5): - The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the live music in the restaurant. The room was well organized and comfortable. It is a lovely, well maintained hotel. It's an older hotel so the rooms aren't as soundproof as they could be.
- Gerry (3/5): Not good, would look elsewhere. - Location Weird smell in room. It’s an old building, loud water pipes. Loud enough to wake a person up in the morning.
- Meah (8/5): -
- Charles (10/5): -
- Larry (7/5): Lynwood - Location Carpets showing wear.
- Guest (9/5): A very nice place for an overnight stop during Celtic Colors. - Perfect location for attending Celtic Colours events. Spinach salad in restaurant was excellent, and the live music added to the charm. It’s an beautiful old hotel so the walls between rooms are a bit less soundproof than some places.
- Natasha (10/5): - Super friendly staff!! Great rooms. Nice jacuzzi tub in the room.
- Charles (6/5): we’re lucky to book this place during Celtic Colours, but I’m sure there are better places to stay - convenient location old, tired rooms. hard mattresses
- Andrew (10/5): Comfortable and elegant. - Super location. Quiet and comfortable. Elegant in an understated way. Not a problem for us because we are strong and healthy but there are no elevators to the second floor.
- Allison (10/5): -
- Henk (9/5): -
- jayant (10/5): It was a great stay at the hotel - Great location, clean, good dinner options
- Kim (8/5): -

- Curtiss (7/5): Reasonable value -
- Gary (4/5): - Tv didn’t have the jays and yankees baseball game and no tv guide
- Gerri (9/5): - Perfect location in Baddeck, lovely staff.
Dinner in their restaurant was excellent. No issues
- Marcel (5/5): Ok. would not return as the staff did not try to accommodate us. - It was clean. The location was good. Room that we were given had squeaky beds. We were given a handicapped room which we did not ask for. And the balcony we were sitting underneath electrical cables, which was not acceptable.
- Isabella (8/5): - Perfect location to explore the cabot trail. The house is a bit dated, but overall seems in good shape. Restaurant choices and walkable harbour area nearby. As the house is a bit old, the carpet is not the nicest anymore - but not a real issue
- Marilee (8/5): - Room was fine. I would only ask that when booking for 3 people there would be 3 bath towels.
Staff was pleasant, ample parking and safe.
- Guest (10/5): Lynwood is a gem - will definitely visit again! - The bed was very comfortable. The property is full of character. The food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast. The staff were attentive and friendly. Everything was great!
- Monica (9/5): -
- Kimberley (10/5): Amazing trip!! - Beautiful spot! Excellent location! Walk everywhere to food and music. Excellent food. Highly recommend
- Dennis (10/5): - A very charming place to stay. Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious!
- Bilquish (10/5): - The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly The property was presented accurately in the write up I would highly recommend it
- Richard (5/5): My stay was ok but improvement opportunities exist - Location was excellent. Atmosphere was nice Bed was uncomfortably hard. Television was very poor and no channel selection
- Kathy (8/5): -
- lindl (8/5): - Very nice restaurant.

- Carl (9/5): Location was great . Had supper at their restaurant the food was good and there was a gentleman singing who was very goo -
- Rachel (10/5): - Great place! Had dinner in the restaurant and breakfast in the morning, both fabulous!
- Dawn (8/5): - The quaint room and main reception were very inviting
- Rhonda (8/5): -
- Helen (7/5): Met our needs. - good location Access pathway was small stones, not conducive for rolling suitcases along.
- roberta (9/5): - Clean spacious double beg room. We had a huge handicap bathroom.
Great location for touring. Bar a bit pricy. Coffee maker not that great.
- Lee Anne (9/5): Lovely place! - The rooms were clean and comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful. Being at the base of the Cabot Trail was great! We could not get into the main restaurant which we found odd being a Wednesday night and that we were guests of the hotel. We were put in a room off to the side. There was entertainment in the main dining room and we would’ve loved to enjoyed that. In our opinion, preference should be given to guests of the hotel. Our second night we decided to go out.
- Kim (10/5): - Beds w
- Julie (8/5): -
- Laura Dawn (4/5): - Bed was very hard, barely slept. The hallway was very noisy and could hear in our room every time someone opened a door. Ice machine was so loud too.
Very dated furniture and property
- Guest (9/5): - The restaurant closed really early for both breakfast and dinner.
- Jeff (10/5): Charming classic Cape Breton inn. - This is a charming old inn across the street from nightly ceilidh music gatherings. The dining room is classic with excellent food. All in all a great place to spend the evening. Like many older buildings in the Canada, the number of electric outlets is less than the device laden traveler inevitably wishes were present and they are usually located in places necessitating traveling with a short extension cord. But the savvy traveler will have work arounds for this sort of thing.
- Mark (9/5): Great stay. Recommend. - Nice room. Great restaurant and musician. Great Location. Balcony off room and furniture needs to be updated. A little pricey.
- Crystal (8/5): - ..
- Guest (10/5): -
- David (10/5): Highly recommended - Roomy beautifully decorated Great shower
- Peter (10/5): Everything was great including the room rate! - Everything was great especially the room! N/A

- chris (5/5): - The facility is old and updated. Putting some new carpets in a fresh coat of paint on the interior would go along ways to sprucing it up.
- John (8/5): -
- Ken (8/5): -
- Barbara louise (9/5): - Great location
- David (10/5): -
- David (8/5): Very good place to stay.walking distance to shops and restaurants is great - Charming, blended the new construction with the old very well. Furnishings were well chosen and the scattered antique accents were well chosen. Stairs and limited parking space during dinner hours
- Gisele (8/5): - Our double queen room was spacious and very clean. We enjoyed a nightcap at the restaurant while listening to guitar player.
The beds could be a bit softer, we did sleep well. Would stay there again.
- Paula (10/5): - It was the perfect first stop on Cape Breton. Rooms clean and with charm. Especially appreciated the jacuzzi after the long drive.
- Sarah (6/5): - Room was fine and clean. Breakfast was extra cost. Location and fast EV charger were excellent
- Cheryl. (8/5): - Restaurant food was very good .All staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Janet (6/5): Need some help with friendlinesss. - I always start positive. Bathrooms and bedroom very clean.
Carpets in common area worn stained and smelled
Front desk and staff curt
Wanted just a glass of wine from bar to end evening. and was told dismissively to go back in dining room and see host. Host sent us back out to bar. Bar tender then Disappeared and we gave up went to room.
- Gail (7/5): Great stay for a family of four. Clean. Nothing outstanding but good value. Love the on-site laundry facilities, that is - Comfortable and clean and close to the main drag in town Food offerings at the restaurant were pretty basic. They could afford to up their game
- Keziah (8/5): -
- Sukey (7/5): -
- Stace (10/5): - The check-in process was smooth at the Lynnwood Inn. I was issued two metal keys, and each hotel room key allows access through the main door. The hotel is really close to the main street of the town and the room was cozy. The shower pressure was good, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet, all items I look for in a hotel. I would certainly stay here again if I am ever in Baddeck.
- Deborah (8/5): - Excellent location in Baddeck. Would stay here again!
- Lynette (10/5): - Very nice accomodations.
- joe (8/5): - Inn was nice, carpets worn down. Great location nice clean rooms
- Guest (10/5): Our stay was fabulous and a central location to enjoy time with friends. - Loved the central location and the breakfast and supper meals were excellent. Liked everything about this stay. I would definitely return and recommend it to others.
- Jeffrey (10/5): Great location - enjoyable restaurant -
- Rebecca (10/5): - My partner was spooked by the Victorian decor, but I thought it was very charming. It's in a really convenient location, close to the shore, with plenty of sidewalks and quiet streets. The tub in the unit we stayed in also had jets, which was nice for our baths.
- Joanne (4/5): - Ok
- Sarah (7/5): - heritage building, office is really nice no elevator for the old building, the actual price is higher than listed on booking.com, no wifi signal
- Guest (9/5): - Restaurant was good, room was pretty , bed was comfy.
