Guest Reviews
- Maria M. (10/5): - 10/10 it’s
- Jose (6/5): - The property looks very rustic, but it could really improve on updating the rooms. The structure looks nice from the outside, but they should improve the rooms, and the stay would be much better.
- Gautam (8/5): - Water is salty to take shower
- Valerie R (2/5): - I was very disappointed the pictures are outdated the room was duaty, smelly, not hot water, no working lights in the living room and no one came to repair will never return to this hotel.
- Vicente (8/5): - Clean
- Penny (2/5): Choose another hotel. - The hotel is run down . The room was damp and smelled terrible. No bath towels only pool towels for pool. The bed was hard . Defiantly would not stay there again. Just spent one night and couldn’t wait to leave.
- ELI (10/5): - Necesita un poquito de mantenimiento .
- Richard (2/5): - Not that clean and the pictures of the hotel is misleading. Also we stayed for 5 days in which they never change out towels or anything. Lastly the ac unit barley worked.
- Osama (6/5): Improve Beach and breakfast - The hotel had a private pool and a beach front, the beach can use a lot pf cleaning and weed removal.
The breakfast included in the booking was very poor and low quality.
- Sean (10/5): - Check in was really fast and easy. The location was good for walking. Lots of delicious restaurants in the area. The pool was refreshing. Our suite was spacious and comfortable. We will be staying again.
- Mere (6/5): - Roomwas perfect latge enough but the bad sheets are not very clean ac works very well not towls in the room tv works very well doors lock nicely
- Karen (4/5): - The place has a nice view to the sea and my children enjoyed the pool, however, the interior of each room needs remodeling and maintenance. I rented 2 room and in one the water from the shower had a rotten egg smell and the other room didn’t have hot water. Humidity smell was in one of the rooms. Faucet was loose. I killed 2 roaches. Needs more cleaning and discard old silverware.
- Nilanchal Bhagaban (2/5): - The leaving room and bedrooms fans was too slow just like its not working. Thankfully bedroom has AC, leaving room was feeling like a hot furnace.
No one came to clean the room, no towels were changed, no hand wash, the water from kitchen wash basin and bathroom sink was always hot from which we cant even wash our hands.
The leaving room was dirty with dust in the floor and tables and kitchen top.
The only good thing is the hotel has pool facing sea side.
I dont recommend this hotel to anyone
- Ryan (2/5): - staff not helpful at all and property was dirty, limited food options and the peer that goes into the sea is a health and safety hazard! great place to go if you want lizards walking around your feet at breakfast tho!
- Yvette (8/5): - This place had a nice authentic charm to it. Although it was in need of renovations I found the place to be comfortable and cozy. My only complaint is that I got this place because it had a kitchen with an oven and stove however they supplied zero cooking utensils!! No pots no pans, nothing which defeated the purpose of me getting this place! You get 2 plates, 2 glasses, two sets of silverware, and 2 mugs for coffee but no coffee maker! Who wants to go out and buy pots and pans while on vacation? Not me.
- Yanick (10/5): - Shower temperature and shower head. Pkus looking forward to seeing what happens with the old dock. If they will renovate. Also they could have a better breakfast and better hours for food options.
- Arun K (2/5): - Faucets are rusted.
Bugs in room.
- nina (2/5): - No hot water shower, asked staff, no english speaking, came up, did not fix, sort of said it's hot but did not get hot shower in 6 days. water smells, no dead bolt, it was there but broken. best thing was the bed was great & comfy. price cheap, now know why. don't stay there. upgrade. continental breakfast was watered down tang of sorts & small slices of white bread you could toast. coffee ok & tea selection ok. you could buy breakfast there but didn't want to
- Yan (4/5): - The hotel it’s good for 1 or 2 nights . The staff is no friendly at all ! But the hotel sell the package with breakfast but they don’t give a breakfast they give one piece of bread and one drink.
- Jason (10/5): - Great stay on the 4th floor room with a patio and kitchen. Wonderful view of the sea and Isla Mujeres.
- Varinder (4/5): - Needs lot of repairs. In pictures it looks nice but in reality its different.
- Olicar (2/5): - We just checked out, terrible experience ,staff doesnt speak english, room/accommodation advertise expedia website that we rented is far from what the photos shows, dont get fooled by the picture very dirty, so much molds in the shower door , shower knob very dusty we got the ocean view , also the free breakfast theyve mentioned is a bland coffee, orange juice and a piece of bread . The breakfast you think it is thats not it you have to pay for eggs etc. Pool hasnt been cleaned probably for years you pay for the ocean view , convenient to ultramar ferry going to isla mujeres thats it. Youre on your own here nobody speak english staff lounges more than the tourist.theyve ruined my birthday vacation. Dont ever come here. For all the western country folks dont ever come here. Pay more to stay hotel zone area than here. Trust me. Im not a complainer i rarely do reviews. Only reviews either i have the best experience or worst. This one is the worst! If you dont speak spanish dont come here!
- Amy (10/5): - Quiet and peaceful, unique place, felt like a tree house, clean, comfy, helpful staff.
- Jason (8/5): - Right next to the ferry port to Isla Mujeres. Rooms with a nice water view and pool
- lisa (8/5): - We stayed in the room with access from the third floor via circular stairs - beautiful view and private balcony.
Continental breakfast was only toast, coffee and tea.
Could have had some fruit...
- Kevin (8/5): - Small hotel, very calm and peaceful. Older place in need of some TLC, but overall nice place with good size apartment style rooms.
- Joseph (8/5): - This property is good for those wanting to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Cancun. It is super close (under 5 min walk) to the ferry port and it’s close a really good restaurant called San Remo, which was great!
- Maria (10/5): We love this place - Spacious quiet apartment style rooms. Love this place.
- Nadia (8/5): - The hotel is well situated if you plan to take walks, it is near the ferry (water taxis) and locals.
- Katharine (10/5): - This hotel is right around the corner from the ferry to Isla Mujeres. After a long flight, Casa Caribe was a perfect stop before heading to the island the next day. There was a lot of construction in the area due to hurricane damage. Be aware that "breakfast included" means toast, coffee and juice but the family will make you a more substantial breakfast for a very low cost.
- APRIL (6/5): - This place is perfect for those who don't want to be on a resort or in the busy hotel zone.
The place is old and showing signs of wear, but the outdoor area was beautiful, right on the water and next door to the Isla Mujeres ferry. Lots of excellent local places to eat that are very close and reasonably priced.
Room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful.
If you are looking for a more authentic mexico experience than the resort life, then this is the place for you.
- Sahiba (10/5): - This is a great spot. Feels like it’s off the beaten pathway, but right next to the ferry! Walkable to amazing local food. Staff is very nice and our room was amazing. Love this little gem.
- Colton (10/5): - Great hotel, beautiful ambience, large and well decorated rooms, great price.
- Richard (10/5): - Nice little spot, funky jungle vibe. Great deal and the place was huge, 2 bedrooms with king beds, dining and living room.
- Patricia (2/5): - Our room was so bad we didn't even stay. Immediately booked hotel elsewhere. Chair and couch in sitting area appeared covered in years build up of dirt so no wonder there is no photo of it. Stains on walls. Mold. Yellow stain on mattress cover. I cant understand the 10/10 ratings. Perhaps those guests had better rooms.
- ZAYRA (10/5): - What i liked was the proximity to ultramar (ferry) and we only spent one night, i wish it were more so i can give a more detailed review of the hotel! But very nice!!
- Md.Nishanto Nahid (8/5): - The room was beautiful. But from the outside you could never tell. Its right beside the ferry terminal so thats always noisy
- Yoko (10/5): - Beautiful view, back yard, cozy small place to be in this price.
- Carl (10/5): - Comfortable hotel, near El Niño beach, staff is nice and helpful, well located in puerto Juarez.
Breakfast is poor, toasts and “coffee”, some sort of coffee.
- Carrie (10/5): - Property was clean and convenient for the Ultramar ferry.
- Jacqueline (4/5): Bring your own cream for your coffee - Check-in and check-out were seamless. The bed was comfortable. The AC dripped water from the wall onto our suitcases. What really upset us was the breakfast that was supposed to be included. Not only were there only two high carb breakfast item options, neither of which we were interested in eating but we were asked to pay for cream for our coffee! Seriously!?! A complimentary bottle of water on arrival would have been a nice touch ... and certainly a cup of coffee with cream in the morning!!
- Renee (8/5): - This place is beautiful and we're in love with the Nala, the onsite fur baby.
- Maria (8/5): Don't tell everyone. We like it the way it is - We love this little hideaway, away from the hubub of the Hotel zone, but near to the Isla Mujeres ferry. Quiet, on the water, with apartment style rooms perfect for us since we were visiting with family. We've been 3 times, never disappointed.
- Prasad (2/5): - recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The amenities were quite poor, and the breakfast offered was below average in terms of quality and variety. Additionally, there was no room service available, which was highly inconvenient. The cleanliness of the rooms left a lot to be desired.
The only positive aspect of this property is its location. It’s right on the seashore, providing beautiful views, and it’s just a 2-minute walk to the ferry, which is very convenient. However, the shortcomings in other areas made the overall stay disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless location is your only priority.
- Jim (10/5): - Casa Caribe was right next to Puerto Juarez pier. Perfect if you miss you miss last scheduled ferry to Isla Mujeres.
One night stay was convenient for a late flight and catch the ferry in the morning.
- Matthew C (2/5): - Only a place to sleep.. thats it.. skip the shower. Skip the resturant. Got this only because of walking dist to the ferry. Shower was pee warm, resturant was way over priced for rubber eggs. Only stay if we need to be close to the ferry
- Paul (8/5): - Okay place. Beside ultramar. Easy to go to Mujeres
- Carmen (8/5): - Good
- Melania (4/5): - The room was dirty, the cieling and walls were chipping and falling. The water to shower and brush your teeth was salted water. They didn’t accommodate or help make the situation better.
- Leon (10/5): - Small hotel full of Mexican charm. Staff were very helpful with any question and request. Absolutely loved my stay here, would again without a doubt. From transportation arrangements to general area and tourist info, I really appreciated all the help and tips. Thanks for the wondeful memories!
- Cheri (2/5): Avoid at all costs. Free is not even cheap enough - It is located down in a back alley and looks very sketchy at best. We checked in late at night and thought about going elsewhere before we checked in but instead thought to check it out. The guy was nice and offered to help carry our bags up three flight of stairs. Very nice guy. A+. The room was a little musty but the bed was clean so we stayed the night. The next morning we got up very early to head to Itza Chichen. When we got home in the late afternoon we went to take a shower. When we turned on the shower the worst rotten egg smell in the world stank up the entire room. We opened the door to air the place out and let the water run hoping it would clear out but no. It was disgusting . We went down to the office and asked the desk clerk to come to our room to smell the foul odor. He agreed and said it smelled worse than most. I thought to myself, could it get worse? We asked for a refund on the two remaining nights and were denied after speaking with the owner. Even though his own guy said it was really that bad. We booked another hotel and left. This is THE place those commercials warn you about. Showing up to a sketchy place and checking in to a stinky room. BAD experience. AVOID this place no matter how cheap it seems. Unless you're okay smelling like rotten eggs. They couldn't pay me to stay at this hotel.
- Juan Angel (10/5): - El hospedaje concuerda perfecto con el precio, sinceramente no hay de que quejarse en relacion con lo que se cobra, todo se me hizo muy bien. :)
- Marisol (10/5): - We loved the staff & our stay. We wanted to be close to the ferry & enjoyed our stay.
- Beth (10/5): - Was a last minute thing due to hurricane Helene. Old but clean and great staff!
- Karen (8/5): - The hotel is very rundown and they are trying to update the rooms and maintain the property. It should not be featured as a 4 star unit more like a 2 star. The hotel is dated very close to the ferry for Isla Mujeres. Manager Ben is a huge asset to the property.
- Pedro (6/5): - It said it was a 5 start Hotel on the app but it was clearly not. It’s ocean front but not beach front and it’s not swimmable. It’s right next to the ferry but the area around is very bad. It’s alright but an affordable place to stay in Cancun.
- Kevin (10/5): - The pool was our favorite hang out while spending time at the hotel. Very near the ferry for ease of transportation to Isla.
- Kevin (10/5): - We love Casa Caribe and have stayed here multiple times.
- candelaria (10/5): - The pool
- Michaela (10/5): - 2nd time in this hotel, the room was just old and dirty looking. People were great, I love the tropical fill, and the ac was cold, but it is just an older building that needs a lot of updating.
- Maureen (10/5): - Other than being next to the ferry I really don’t have anything good to say. Dirty no soap in bathroom to wash your hands after going to the bathroom no towels!! No hand towels bath towels nothing!!! Free breakfast was a joke. Thank god it was right next to the ferry so we could get the hell out!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great ferry location. Great for overnight stays. - This hotel is situated about 2 minutes walk from the ferry terminal which makes it super convenient. Check in time is rather late, as we arrived early and they would not allow us to get our room even an hour early...but only 30 minutes early. This was not a busy time...and from the looks of our room, it wasn't even cleaned properly. There was a layer of dust on our fridge and the floor felt like it hadn't been swept. So, I'm not sure what we were waiting for at check in.
That aside, the grounds are beautiful as well as the views.
As for breakfast, we were told only toast was given as the "free" breakfast alongside artificial orange juice and coffee with no milk was available. Not what we expected upon choosing a hotel with breakfast options.
The location was quiet at night allowing for a good night's sleep. Room was comfortable and ac cold. Again, location is great for using the ferry for any day trips.
I feel the price is a bit high for what is presented and the maintenance of the room.
- Anatoli (8/5): - Nice place
- Elena (10/5): - The front desk guy was super helpful and welcoming.
- Lorena (2/5): - Ugly and unsafe neighborhood.
I don’t even find the correct adress of this place.
- Cynthia (10/5): - Property was beautiful. I loved all the greenery around the hotel. I loved the vibe like rustic cabins. The decor was beautiful. Very close to the ferry to go to isla mujeres. The pool was open 24 hrs. We stayed 2 nights.
- Cameron (10/5): Great easy access hotel to Isla mujeras! - Great host, great time, definitely would stay again. Made getting to Isla Mujeras super easy!
- Vicki (10/5): - This place was very charming! Beautiful plants everywhere and a pool that’s open 24hrs, easy to get to other places and spacious rooms. Very cute for the short stay we had. The staff were so kind and helpful !
- brigitte (10/5): - This hotel is very Mexican with plants and books and decoration super nice. The bed was super comfy. A/c works really good. Shower had hot water and good pression. Pool is clean.
- Alex (10/5): - Great stay for the price
- Marcia (8/5): - It was a perfect place to stay one night to be close to ferry to Isla. A small Mexican hotel with nice view, friendly staff. Had some quaint character and guests from all over to chat with over morning coffee in the breakfast area. One of the employees walked with us and our bags to the ferry, above and beyond what he needed to. There were a few restaurants and bars in the area.
- Dr. Joan (8/5): - Just what I was looking for, for an overbite. Convenient, cute, on the water.
- Marius (10/5): - 30 minutes from the airport and right across the ferry boat to get to Isla Mujeres
- Donna (10/5): Awesome Budget Hotel next to ferry Terminal! - This is a very basic hotel - rustic yet very clean ! We chose this hotel for its location - walking distance to the ferry to Isla Mujeres. A simple breakfast ( coffee and toast) was provided in the morning and you are within walking distance to the beachside restaurants and a lovely public beach (playa del ninos) which was very clean , plenty of beach with palapas , change rooms and a lifeguard. They have a private parking lot if you have a car.
- cathryn (6/5): - Only reason we decided on this property was location to ferry dock.the customer service was great and room was adequate
- Maria (10/5): - We loved this gem of a hotel. Friendly. Helpful staff and a relaxed tropical setting by the water. One block from the ferry to Isla Mujeres.
- Maria (10/5): Charming - This is a little gem for seasoned travelers who enjoy a friendly environment with charm. Conveniently located a block from the ferry to Isla Mujeres, this beachfront property has lovely views, a sweet tropical garden and very relaxed style. It could use some updates but I loved it.
- naomi (10/5): - The property is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and have a kitchen with large fridge. The check-in was quick and friendly. The pool was a great refresher after our flight. We had a very comfortable king bed. Breakfast was coffee, juice and toast with butter - very basic - but the restaurant views are excellent.
Our only complaint is the loud music and voices at 3 am til ? outside our room. Probably not a regular occurrence.
We booked our one night here because of its proximity to Puerto Juarez ferry to Isla Mujeres. Easy walk over to the ferry. We would definitely stay again.
- Shannon (4/5): - It’s cheap
- Michael (10/5): - The room was a good value and truly a walking distance to the Isla Mujeres ferry. Their breakfast was a joke.
- Christiane (4/5): - Lit très inconfortable, déjeuner pauvre et serveuse avec mauvais service et sans façon.
- Marco (4/5): - The guy at the front desk told me his system shows reservation only for 2 adults and 2 kids, but it was for 4 adults and 3 kids, He insist I was wrong and i did a wrong reservation, I had to look for my scren shots to prove I was right. breakfast is a joke.
- penelope (6/5): - 2 minute walk to ultramar ferry. Good for an overnight. Included breakfast was a slice of melon and a dry piece of toast, coffee and juice. They showed us a hand written unpriced list of items. We ordered presuming they were part of the breakfast, they were not and we had to pay extra for these
- Chuck (10/5): - Although there’s no elevator, we don’t mind. The view from the balcony is spectacular. Also the pool is enough to spend a relaxing day. We booked it as it is right next to Ultramar Ferry going to Isla Mujeres, our favorite island. I will definitely go back here!
- Kristen (6/5): - The property was just ok. The service was just ok. The rooms got pretty warm. Breakfast was supposed to be included, however, when we went to get breakfast the person who did the cooking was not in the premises. We had to go get toilet paper ourselves because we ran out.
- Eduardo Morales (8/5): - Bien ubicada. Cercas de los tours para plan de conocer o estilo mochilero. Muy buena opción relación precio calidad. Muy buena
- Ronald J. (8/5): Not so good - Its a bit run-down. A few roches in the kitchen at night. I liked the balcony, and the dinning area was right next to the water. A good loca y ion near the ferry terminal. Of the did some maintenance, and put some money into this hotel, it would be great, since the lication is so good and fight on the water. As it is I'd probably not stay there again, but it was a very good price if you need to save some money.
- Idalia (6/5): Old Tired Hotel - Hotel is too old and needs lots of maintenance. The pictures in the internet advertising this hotel were taken in the year 2002 and do not reflect the real way it looks now. The breakfast they provide free is just cold, insipid coffee, watermelon and cantaloupe, hibiscus iced tea, and toast with butter and jelly.
The positive things about the hotel are:
1. Comfortable bed
2 . AC units in the bedrooms
- Idalia Flores (6/5): A Disappointing Stay - The stay was ok for what we needed since we were mostly out of the hotel. However, the property needs a lot of maintenance. The pictures we see in the advertisement on the internet are 21 years old. The entrance to the hotel looks dilapidated. Once you’re in the lobby, the appearance is better. The villas are all differently distributed. Ours was much better than some other ones where the rest of our group stayed at. We got a villa with two bedrooms, kitchen, dinning room and living room. There’s an AC split unit in each bedroom.
Now about the “free” breakfast that is included. The only thing they serve is fruit (watermelon and cantaloupe ), coffee, and toast with butter and jam. They don’t serve any kind juice. So, we ended up going out of the hotel to have breakfast.
- Hannah (4/5): - Place was cute. Had to walk 10 mins to get to the beach. My airpods were stolen. I tried to contact them multiple ways but they were unresponsive. I could see where they were on the map. Very upsetting.
- ADRIENNE (10/5): - The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was not plentiful but was tasty and sufficient (coffee was weak). The ambiance is amazing, there is a wonderful atmosphere in Casa Caribe. The rooms are large and clean.
The kitchens are not stocked and we had to request towels. However we were given bottled water every time we requested it.
- Justin D (10/5): Wonderful stay! - Had a great stay at Casa Caribe. Family apartment was very spacious, with all the essentials and some nice touches. Hotel is no-frills but cosy and homey. Breakfast was basic, but a nice extra given the price of the room.
Our little ones loved the pool and garden areas. And the location - oceanfront & walking distance to the Isla Mujeres ferry, really can’t be beat.
All in all a wonderful stay and a great value. We wish we would have had more time … and will definitely be back!
- Sue (10/5): - No beach area to walk along, Very Friendly people, got to experience Mexican Family Christmas celebration as we were there just before Christmas
And the locals had family celebrations at the hotel Picnic area, it was fun watching the children have a great time with some traditional games of giving presents
Sue and Norm Mills
- Riccardo (10/5): Great stay!! - Great place, nice staff and decent property on the water. Breakfast needs a little help.
- Michaela (6/5): - Probably won’t stay again. Older property but clean. I kept being woke up by outside noise. 3rd floor, no elevator. No one around at 7:30 check out. It was a very tropical hotel. Loved the trees and vines everywhere.
- Hong (10/5): - I booked this hotel for my last day in Mexico because it is so close to the ferry from Isla Mujeres (a couple of minutes walking), OXXO convenient store (right at the ferry) and around 20 minutes to Cancun airport. It's old styled hotel but I like it. My room has pool/ocean/palm tree view which is lovely. The floor, bedsheets, bathroom were clean but has sewage smell from the underneath drainage system (you know the building built long time ago may have this problem, I just closed the bathroom door and don't smell anything in the bedroom or kitchen). Receptionists both day and night are very nice, the one day time speaks English well, the night one speaks a little but he used translation on phone to speak with me (at least he tried and I can still understand him). There was a lot of smelly seaweed in the ocean on the day I arrived (July 12, 2022), but I expected this and I just chose this for the location as I mentioned above and its good price bc I just stayed like 12 hours total in this hotel. Good value for my purpose!
- Tirza (10/5): - Cute hotel. Nice staff. Walkable restaurants.
- Antonio (10/5): - Right next to the Isla Mujeres Ferry. Literally a 3 min walk. Very well kept hotel room. And the continental breakfast was so good. Cheers to the cooks who made the potatoes.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Won't be back. - Service was good based on a taxi to the airport on time only. Pretty room. But.. No restruant on premises while there. No ocean view for me after requesting for it many months ago. As for cleanness, mosquitoes biting me all night could not sleep.
