Guest Reviews
- Steven (6/5): - Desk service friendly and good. First morning free breakfast not available--staff said they slept in. Second morning breakfast was just OK. Nothing hot except for waffles. Room was adequate except that the air conditioning compressor was loud when it kicked in.
- Michael (10/5): - Great place for overnight on the road
- Duryea (10/5): - Right on the corner of 2 highways, Staff was pleasant and helpful
- TERESA (6/5): Family Vacation - Check in was easy. Listing was accurate. Location was good. It was quiet.
Downside was the beds were extremely high a challenge for seniors to get into with a step. Suggest they provide those since this has been mentioned in a number of reviews. Also, for seniors' toilets very low and difficult to get up from. There was also a big gap under the door, which I believe was large enough to let in some creatures (we did not have any unwanted visitors however).
- James H. Talbott, (10/5): - The property was well kept and the breakfast was good.
- Gloria (8/5): - The room was clean, staff were friendly.
- Anthony (10/5): - Very clean and quiet! Very comfortable furnishings.
- Heather (10/5): - Easy clean stay
- Julie (6/5): - The rooms were clean, it was quiet, breakfast was the usual
The only bad thing was the beds were way too tall. I am 5 foot 1 and my elderly brother is on a cane. I couldnt get in the bed without the aid of a foot stool. If the room had not had the chair with the footstool we would have had to ask for our money back and found a different hotel. My brother who is a tad taller had a harder time with his hip and all hence the cane.
- Eulesa Colleen (8/5): - Rooms were clean, check in easy, I'm disabled and it was great that we could park right in front of our room and have exterior access, nearby locations within walking distance to eat, property well maintained.
however the beds were VERY tall, I am 5-5 and the top of the mattress came to my waist. Only ice available in the office, Office a bit rude when you ask any questions, even if its the name of the staff helping you, no extra towels or replacement towels allowed, at all-unless you have them clean your room. we only stayed 2 nights, just needed fresh towels. Shower head doesn't move, and is aimed for a very tall person, so good thing there wasn't much water pressure.
Great place to stay if you are a tall person, not if you are a short person.
- Laura (10/5): Our Go-to in Phillipsburg - We love staying at the Econo Lodge. It's a cute little motel and the owner is super nice and overly accommodating.
- Patrick (10/5): - Friendly owners operators who take care of the property
- Dennis (6/5): - Friendly staff. Limited breakfast menu.
- Tom (10/5): - Alll good
- Gregory (8/5): - It worked well with our plans.
- Kerry (10/5): - Clean!
- Micky (10/5): - The stay went well. The room was nice and clean. The staff worked hard to please. Wasn't impressed the way Expedia handled my reservation
- Kaaren (10/5): - Old but well updated and very clean. Nice having a table and chairs. Also good to be on first floor with a dog as door opens to outside. Reasonable ($15.) pet fee. Room did not smell like it was the only one assigned to dogs, either. Well worth the total cost.
- Christian (10/5): Great place - Friendly staff, quiet, well maintained. Comfortable new beds, would stay again
- Julie (10/5): - Affordable and clean!
- Kimberly (8/5): - It's not luxury but it was a very clean room, the bed was comfortable, so it provided what I needed for the night!! Staff was friendly.
- Kristina (10/5): Clean Budget Friendly Room - For the price I was pleasantly surprises. The property looked a little dated outside but the room was very tidy, the bed was super comfortable and the host was friendly.
No complaints.
- Ronald (8/5): - It was close to Fort Bissell and a relative in town
- Sherri (10/5): - Room was wonderful. Bed comfortable. I used the pool and it was nice and clean. Unfortunately the workout room was not. Needs serviced badly. Treadmill was in bad shape.
- Kevin (10/5): - I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort and cleanliness of our room.
- Richard (10/5): - Clean, pleasant room; good front desk service.
- Kalyn (10/5): - I have had a hard time to getting to sleep when not at home. Bed & bedding were very comfortable & fell asleep right away.
- Mary (6/5): - no
- Paul (4/5): - Did not make beds last night and also left no soap for shower or vanity area. Sloppy housekeeping at best.
- John (10/5): All is well - Just a quick stop
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Small motel, needed a new door bottom on the room we received. Is being updated according to new owner. Good price for a one night stay.
- Monte (8/5): - Our door had a rather large space between the bottom of the door and the jamb. Place was clean and the property itself was good.
- Freddie (6/5): - Good for small town
- Michael (10/5): - Danny, who checked us in was a wonderful host
- Brooke (10/5): - Very clean and safe stay!
- Joseph (4/5): - Ended up having problems getting here. Finally got here at 11pm and then was lectured several times during the check in process about how late it was and “not sure if we are still open, it’s so late.” Then was told next time I needed to call because check in was 8-830 max”. Well I guess there won’t be a next time. Sorry to bother you to do your job.
- Andrew (8/5): - Breakfast was inadequate to say the least but property was well kept and clean. Would stay there again.
- Tammy (10/5): - The checkin person was so very nice
- Joseph (10/5): Hidden Gem in the middle of Kansas! - We have stayed here several times, major improvements have been done since our last visit, it is under new ownership and they are very nice people. We recommend a stay!
- Jay (10/5): - Very clean and excellent service. No parking for trailers and tractor trailer rigs available.
- Paula (10/5): - Large room, clean, covered stairs to upper level. Didn't like ice machine was in office and locked.
- Sammy (10/5): - The proprietors were friendly and quite helpful.
- JoEtta (10/5): - Because of a death in my family, we needed to be in town for five nights. We have stayed in this motel every year for many years and they have been very good to us.
- Michael (10/5): - Very convenient to where we needed to be. Room was very clean and fresh smelling. Staff was very helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Expensive Stay for Cheap Service - The bed was way too high, i don't see how anyone can get up on a bed that high, but i made it work. Also, we stayed over Christmas night and they did not treat any of the iced over areas on the sidewalk or parking lot..very dangerous. We also heard from another customer that they didn't have any extra toilet paper in the room & what they did have was just a little bit left on the roll, so they had to go ask for more and they had just checked in!! They are also always higher in cost than the other 2 hotels in town.
- Kevin (10/5): - Clean spacious room, very nice and comfortable.
- William (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised. As an older looking Drive-up motel we were hesitant but our room was beautiful. Remodeled, clean, and a comfy bed. Overslept and missed breakfast. We’d stay there again.
- RAY (10/5): great place to stay - Very clean, comfortable and especially good service. Would highly recommend.
- Karen J. (8/5): - The staff were very friendly.
- Michael (4/5): - The hotel was old and the second level room above me was extremely noisy. People above me walked and moved until 1:00 AM in the morning. Their floor was so noisy I could hear every step and it kept me awake. They then woke up at 5:00 AM and walked all over the room so noisy it woke me up so I only got a 4 hour sleep. A bad facility.
- Dave (10/5): - A great place to stay while in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was clean and comfortable except toilet was low, even though we are both short.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Surprise in Kansas! - Very updated and very clean.
Completely happy with our stay.,
- Michael (10/5): - The room is clean and
- William (6/5): Loud - Everything was fine except for highway noise coming into my room all night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good place to stay. - Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff is very friendly and checked in with us after we had questions about the AC. Super clean, with comfy beds & pillows.
- Roland (10/5): Clean rooms and great service - The rooms were very clean and the service was exceptional. The beds were so comfortable. We would definitely stay there again when passing through.
- robert g (8/5): Good value & service - Family run and friendly staff. Comfortable room and basic breakfast. Quiet and convenient location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - For an older property it appeared to be well kept up. My room was clean and comfortable. It is located on the State Highway and within a short distance to the eateries and gas/convenience stores in Phillipsburg.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff super friendly. Very clean. Comfortable bed.
- Tami (8/5): Nice small town hotel - Located in a small town, it looks a bit outdated on the outside. However, the rooms have been updated and were very nice and clean. Nothing fancy but we would stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean rooms and very nice staff. Exactly what we needed
- Robert (10/5): Even nicer than expected - Very pleased with EconoLodge in Phillipsburg, where we stayed before heading to the Nicodemus National Historical Park. The rooms are very modern for a small town off the beaten path. Very friendly check in and nothing but excellent service throughout our visit. Would gladly stay here again during a future visit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean hotel, outside kind of comes off a little sketchy but very pleased with service and staff and breakfast!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Clean overall just outdated. Walls really thin. Could hear everything neighbors said. Seemed over priced fro accomadations.
- John (10/5): - I have stayed in many small town hotels and motels, and they feel that way. The conditions of the rooms and the updates are comparable to large city accommodations.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Better than ok! - Better than Ok. Would stay there again if necessary. Small town so not many options. Clean but older facility. Minimum niceties but glad it was available, we were tired. Very friendly staff. Not full vacancy but still ended up right next to a family with noisy kids (no problem with that, kids are supposed to have fun traveling). But would have been nice to have a quieter room to relax and sleep better.
- John (10/5): A OK! - Everything was fine!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was nice and quiet. Had a slight problem with the tv whuch was quickly fixed. There was no continental breakfast as stated. They had packaged buns. For sunday morning it would have been nice to have something else as there was no place in town open for breakfast that i could find.
- Paul (8/5): - It was winter and stayed on a road trip to Colo. The room was very clean & comfortable, but heat had been turned off prior to our arrival, so took a while to warm up. Good shower & good coffee at the breakfast. Would stay again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nothing great, but it was not terrible. Just average. Shower was very low pressure and was at face level.
- James (10/5): - Room was great, nice and updated. Bes was comfy. Staff super friendly. Would stay again.
- Catrina (10/5): - I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was! Rooms are updated and clean, very nice staff, very accommodating. This is not your “typical” Econo Lodge! You can tell this nice family takes great pride in their hotel and your comfort! Great job! I would definitely stay here again!
- Brenda (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable!!! Will definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Other than i feel the price is to high and the breakfast was severely lacking it is a nice place to stay
- Diana (10/5): Diana - A very nice motel. It looks like it might be old but was cleaner than a lot of the fancy motels I have stayed in. Beds were real comfortable. Nice hot breakfast nothing fancy but all we cared to eat. Would definitely stay again. The price was very reasonable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean quiet room and comfortable bed. - I had some trouble figuring out the TV system, so I just used my computer to watch what I wanted to see...(PBS).
Nice quiet room and comfortable bed.lean
- Sandra (10/5): Nice place to stay - Not one problem. Room was clean and staff was friendly. Three other family members had rooms here as well and none of us had any issues. We would stay again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This property is down right old and disgusting. It is more like a homeless shelter. Dark, dated rooms with a musty smell. Toilets that barely flush. The doors to the buildings are open all night. I left after 30 minutes. Choice Hotels should reconsider who they lend their name to. I will never stay there again. Ugh.
- Mindy (8/5): Don't be fooled. - Don't be fooled by the outside color of the building. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was a clean place
No too noisy
Bathtub was big
- Vicki (10/5): - Very friendly service. Have stayed there multiple times
- Lois (8/5): Overnight stay - We were just passing through with no plans to spend time in the town. The personal were friendly and helpful with TV channel question. Breakfast selection could be better.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room wasn’t the cleanest... but it’s what you get for the price.
- Brenda (10/5): - The family who runs the hotel does a great job and they make you feel very welcome.
- RJB (8/5): - Well-kept property; room was clean and well-appointed. Exterior not on the same level great interior and friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The sheets and towels were clean and there wasn't any outside noise. I was disappointed by the 'shortness' of the toilet it was annoying, I only had a bathtub but I knew I was getting that. I did enjoy my visit, it was only a small one night getaway.
