Guest Reviews
- Elwood (10/5): - Good
- Mary (10/5): - I liked everything
- Darlene (2/5): - It was infested with roaches. When I let management know she did absolutely nothing. I checked out the next day at my loss. I would never stay there again, even if I was paid a million dollars.
- JaMonika (2/5): - Baby the roaches are ridiculous. I thought I was at Joe’s Apartment lol.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I love that it’s a judgment free zone and great staff service
- Stephanie (2/5): - Air work
- Hanna (2/5): - There were BED BUGS!!
- Jasmine (2/5): - HARD TO GET TOWELS AND SOAP FOR A MORE THAN ONE DAY STAY
- DaResa (2/5): - It was dirty. People was doing drugs outside. Clerk was not friendly. There was NO customer service. The sheets was dirty and I was refused to be able to receive clean sheets.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I’m only giving a review cause I’ve stayed here several times and there’s a housekeeper that’s very rude, loud, and disrespectful towards customers even yelling at her coworkers that’s my only problem here other than that everything else was great.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Wow - I had a lovely stay the rooms were free of roaches, smelled great and very clean. Over the last few months I’ve seen amazing changes here. I really appreciate the housekeeper Lulu she went out of her way to make sure my stay was as comfortable as possible, Thank you
- Kainshasa (10/5): - Worker cool
- Jocelyn (2/5): - Excellent stay
- Jocelyn (2/5): - Not a good stay at all
- Tia (6/5): - I chose to pay on site but when i got there they informed me that they don't except it like that so i had to call Expedia customer service, which was great service beyond what was the mosr helpful. Got that straightened out but the bext morning my room was raining lol. The people upstairs left the water eunning. They immediately put me in anouther room, which was good.
- ChELsEa (6/5): - Blahhhhh
- Colby (6/5): - Alright
- Verified traveler (2/5): No, just no - No words can adequately describe how terrible this place is. It is gross.
- LarryMyers049 (4/5): keep going - no remote, no lamp shade, curtains messed up, bad room. the chair is really old and dirty, I should have asked to see the room first, I am guessing not to many repeat customers, I hope everyone get a different room than what I ended up with, I will leave the lights on tonight
- Keiarra (2/5): - Has roaches
- Demario (2/5): First & Lasts - I'm going to be 💯 with you the Front Desk was great the room was ok but when I say ok that's because the night stands were old the TV stand was old the ceiling looked like it was leaking and pilling. The door had holes in them the vent in the rest room was nasty and had hair in it holes the bathroom ceiling cracked tiles rust around the tissue roll holder. But here's when it gets real when we took our showers the roaches started coming out my family and I was there 3 night. I wanted to leave but when I forgot it had a no refund policy I should have known some then but I know now. Now my wife and I both worked at Hotels in the past my wife was a Housekeeper Supervisor and myself worked Front Desk so we both no want to look for. But never will I go back there again First and Last thank you..
- Michael (2/5): In the dark - Made a reservation with Cajun inn the week before my trip for doctors appointments and one day prior to going on my trip was sent an email telling me they couldn't honor my reservation without giving me a reason why. Had to postpone trip because the search for another room that was within my price range was fruitless.
- Christopher George (10/5): - Cheap and safe for us.
- Norma (2/5): - STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE
- angela (2/5): - The carpet in the room by the bathroom was floor soaked the ceiling in the bathroom was missing. Standing in the shower you look up and see nothing but pipes. The smell of mold filled the room.
- Ray (6/5): - The hotel is run down, electrical , equipment and bathrooms needs a lot of work. Hotel needs to be fumigated for roaches. Bed needs to be changed out and sheets needs to be replaced right a way. The air conditioning is very bad. The unit barely working. The people tried to made the stay better.
- shadijah (2/5): - the hotel and staff is HORRIBLE !! the hotel is full of bugs and they wont do anything about it or give your money . very rude & nasty
- toddgF2255KB (2/5): The Worst - The worst place I've ever seen. I walked in walked out. I lost $; but it was that bad. Unbelievable that people can actually stay in these places. It's like they don't even try to clean it. The carpets were black with filth & everything was for that matter!
- Kenneth (2/5): - There wasn’t a room ready for us.
We saw a room which was a wreck and didn’t have bedding.
We DID NOT STAY at this hotel
- Tiffany (2/5): - The room was filled with roaches and very dirty
- Michael Alex (2/5): - I like that it’s close to a store
- Atari (10/5): - It's the Ingles Side projects love it are love it not me I'm loving it!!!!!!!!
- RAYMOND (2/5): - Its have roaches in the bed and holds in the walls and ceiling about to fall in
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The lady at desk was nice but room stunk, fly in room and big dead bug on floor. Old nasty cloth couch. I felt like I was itching. That’s what I get for trying to get a lil cheap room. OMG, never again. I left and got a room at Bally’s. Motel 6 is like a Palace in comparison. I say tear this building down!
- James (2/5): - Walked into the room and turned around and walked out. Went back to the office and turned in the key and told them it was filthy. Did not get a refund. It stated that in the office in a couple places. Should’ve taken that as a warning that it was a dump. Would not recommend anyone staying there.
- Jamell (2/5): - Nothing
- Adrian (8/5): - Cool
- dodie (2/5): - This place was so sketchy, we were afraid to stay here. Expedia usually has quality facilities, they need to take this hotel off their site. Was so bad we were willing to lose our money to feel safe.
- Diana (6/5): - The blonde lady at the front desk who checked me in was so nice and accommodating! Friendly and helpful. She got me a clean blanket out of the dryer because my room had no blankets or pillows. You get what you pay for and this room had a lot of water and ceiling damage. No working smoke detector. I did not see any bed bugs so that’s great but there were blood stains on the mattresses, sheets and floor. AC works GREAT I was so pleased with that. Bathroom was clean! Saw a roach that morning getting out of bed so that was gross and it did smell overwhelmingly OG cigarettes. It made do for an emergency stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything is great except the front desk clerk immediately put sold out sign on the door as soon as seeing me and was extremely rude Today is Tuesday and I don't have any issues any other employees except with Leslie, I've never felt more uncomfortable and unwanted in any other establishment....Considering relocating
- James (10/5): - I loved everything about the property
- Brandon (6/5): - Not the best place to stay but not the worst… would not recommend for solo travelers or families etc…. Hotel had hourly rates, no clean linens, pillows, tv looked like someone tried to steal it and got broken, no microwave etc….. there was blood found on the comforter of one of our beds. No fitted sheets on the beds…. Not sure if this hotel was recently reopened or what but definitely has its issues
- Sherry (6/5): - Well the fact I couldn’t check in till after 3 And it was after 4:30 befor I got checked in cause the rooms were all dirty. Also no one would answer me at the front desk to even let me no that they were still cleaning the rooms was rude. Also the Wi-Fi didn’t work and there were used mouse traps outside my door just laying in my parking spot which got all over my shoe and I had to throw them away bc it wasthesticky kind of traps and wouldn’t come off my brand new Nike slides
- Trina (2/5): - Front desk
- James (10/5): - I love everything about the property staff and workers re Great
- James (10/5): - Everything was great
- LaShunda (10/5): - The Staff are a excellent group of people.Friendly, helpful !!
- Gregory (2/5): - Absolutely horrible place
- Greg (2/5): - It was nasty, dirty, full of roaches, torn sheets, nothing good about our stay. We left at MIDNIGHT.
- wesley (2/5): - Didn't like anything Didn't even have blankets
- LaShonda (10/5): - The staff will make a bad situation GOOD!!! Front Desk ladies and Housekeeping also!!!
- Patrice (2/5): - If you’re stopping here to actually rest, keep going! Pillows suck, not sleep worthy at all and are so scarce here. One staff person in particular keeps up as much noise overnight as the guest that NEVER SLEEP. You’ll get a daily unwanted alarm long before you plan to wake up or check out from the owner’s dog plus a dog that belongs to a guest that lives here. I had to go get my own towels to be able to bathe because the staff had to go find towels. Depending on what day/night you stay there might be children running around outside FREE with no parental supervision. One of the staff members brings her kids to work, puts them in an empty room and works while they keep up so much noise that you’d think it was four children instead of two little girls. There is ALWAYS trash on the property and plenty of dog poop at your front door, if you’re not watching where you’re going you’re sure to step in some at some point. The price of these rooms for the amount of inconvenience should be way lower than what they charge especially since the property value has gone down dramatically. I mean, the property was purchased in the early 2000’s for over a million dollars and now it’s valued at $200,000 and that itself is an eye opener. Last but not least, some weekends the owner will shut the room availability OFF for Friday and Saturday so they can make full profit but they tell the staff to tell the guests that the Expedia website is messed up and there’s nothing they can do about the issue.
- Anitra (10/5): - Yes
- G2079YKgaryr (6/5): Family trip - Good food, lodging, cold AC.Plenty of restraunts around the inn.Easy & plenty of parking areas.Weather was cool & breezy but overall A fine trip.Alot of shopping areas & gas stations near.We sat outside & enjoyed the great view & mostly the outdoor smells from the local eating establishments.
- tonjaf41 (2/5): Room 205 - I stayed in 205 me n my 2 daughters first the air was on 80 the room was very hot.second no tissue in the room no trash can n the room no microwave plate in the microwave to top it off no remote control for the tv so i decide to look for it n thats when i seen all of the stuff on side of the bed call the front desk for tissue towels n a trash can she tell me i have to wait until 9 when they change shifts wow thats what i get for 58 dollars i guess
- davidbO8909QJ (2/5): Just look at my pictures... - My wife booked this online without reading the reviews. She went by the "3 circle" rating which is inflated. I have been advised that Trip Advisor policy forbids me from telling you exactly why I believe that their rating is inaccurate. Take notice that most of the 5 star reviewers for the Cajun Inn have only ever made one contribution to TripAdvisor - that being a 5 star review of the Cajun Inn) This is the worst place I have EVER stayed. It took 30 minutes to get checked in. The room smelled awful. Cigarette holes in comforters. Roaches all over the place. Mold and mildew actively growing. Light fixtures missing, broken, and not working. Outlets without cover plates. Shelves barely hanging on to the walls. Fridge did not work. Beds were worn out, pillows were flat. Very noisy. Didn't even check if there was a breakfast - we wanted out of there so badly. I hope my review helps save you from the nightmare we experienced.
- 586tejalp (10/5): Great place - This is an excellent place to stay at. It is good for the price and the staff are very helpful and friendly. They are always ready to sort any problems out as soon as you complain. The manager is great and very kind.
The rooms are clean, the place is quiet and peaceful.
- andygV4416AB (10/5): VERY CLEAN VERY REASONABLE - Very quite and safe place to be. well lit parking lot. rooms are extra big with flat screen tvs, fridge, micro wave, coffee machine and hair dryers in rooms that worked. i would recommend this place. closest to willis knighton and lsu hospitals.
- mammar00 (4/5): Better off somewhere else - I made an online reservation and it said I would get an email for confirmation. I looked the day before we were to leave - no email, no email in the evening. Still no email the morning we were to leave. I tried calling, but no phone #. I had to have my phone carrier help me find the phone# and she also couldn't find it either for awhile. When I did call, the lady on the phone had no idea we were coming and couldn't look on the computer. I would have to wait 12-1PM when the owner got there. We were needing to leave much earlier than that to get there at a decent time. We left hoping for the best. When we got there we did have a room but the lobby was locked. Our room looked clean, but we started seeing roaches all over even in the bed. Only 1 towel and 4 small hand cloths. The bed was not that comfortable, the pillows were really cheap and would flatten out when laying on them. It is NOT a good place to stay. The neighborhood is also really run down.
- WaltB792 (2/5): DON'T DO IT! - Location: You don't want to go for a stroll here after dark - or in broad daylight, either. At three in the afternoon the main lobby was locked. The smaller after-hours lobby was open, but there was no one in attendance. An employee (owner?) finally showed up, having been alerted by the aggressive barking and snarling of a 40 pound dog in the main lobby who wanted to sink his teeth into some flesh - mine! My non-smoking room, sign on the door and everything, smelled like an ashtray. In fact, there was an ashtray on the table and a cigarette butt in the toilet. Pool was closed - not that I'd have gotten in it, anyway, by this time. Bathtub did not have a non-slip surface on the bottom - slick as wet ice. Slipped twice, caught myself. Third time was the charm - fell solidly on the side of the tub. Result: one broken (or severely bruised) rib. Breakfast was not available in the lobby, even though there were chairs and tables set up - no way would I have I risked it.
Bad experience all the way made worse by the people operating this waste of space.
Much better places to stay in Shreveport - Bossier City. Caddo Parish jail is probably one of them.
- islanddream92 (2/5): Roach Infested motel - Killed roaches all night carpet filthy sink smogged from toothpaste towels only for one person dead roaches in refrigerator persons under me complain about they live there an we was making too much noise called my room from her room then hung up in my face. We left had to shake out my bags to ensure we wasn't transporting roaches!!! Nasty disgusting bug problem. Don't stay here you pay 50 dollars a night in summer months and can't even get in the pool its been dry for years!!
- robinh61 (10/5): Clean and quite place. - Had an excellent stay here. For the price of the room you get more than what you pay for. Staff was very helpful. Awsome!!! This place is very business orientated. It was within 1/2 mile to Willis Knighton And LSU hospitals.
- 707brandons (10/5): Excellent place to stay - The management is awsome. Rooms are clean and this is a very safe place, I was there with my kids. Rates are the best in the area. Its like a new hotel. They also have fridge and microwave in room. Would recommend to anyone.
- christinaa133 (2/5): Don't let the pilctures fool you!!! - Do not go to this hotel!!!! I drove an hour out of my way just to buy the jacuzzi suite. When i got there. I could not find the Howard Johnson Hotel NO WHERE!! So I called the number and the man told me that the hotel has not been the Howard Johnson in 5 years!! It is called the Cajun Inn... It is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GHETTO!!! I wouldn't even feel comfortable leaving my car at this hotel over night. This is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT to show this nice hotel online, but when you get there its a MOTEL!! Just by looking at it, you would think they have roaches. But I didn't even go inside so I can't call that one! If i ever go back that way I will take a picture and upload it so EVERYONE CAN SEE WHAT IT REALLY LOOKS LIKE.
- Jeanie (8/5): Good bargain in Shreveport - We stayed one night at this property to go to the Independence Bowl in December 2006. My husband is a huge Alabama fan (Roll Tide) and we didn't want to fool with the hassle of parking. This hotel is a short walk to the stadium, our room was upgraded without even asking to the jacuzzi suite, and we were allowed into our room a couple of hours before checkin to freshen up after 4 hours on the road. The room was about what you should expect for a budget motel, older and in some disrepair. The hairdryer and Bible were both missing. But it was well-cleaned and we got a good night's sleep there. We would stay at this property again if we are in the area.
- ShirleyO6 (2/5): stay elsewhere - Even though this hotel/motel is convienient and off the freeway, its in a shady area. Don't be fooled by its affordablity...stay elsewhere. The rooms were not in the best condition (i.e. blood streaks on the wall) and the grounds were not well kept at all. Staff even locked herself in the front office and it was only 6pm. You'll be better off staying at a Marriott or Hilton chain.
- Venture31020 (10/5): Royal treatment - Not dirty at all as stated by someone! We had a group of 9 people and our stay couldn't have been better! With a friendly staff and comfortable, quiet rooms...what else could you want?
- GrandTour31155 (8/5): Better than most hotels in area - First, get the jacuzzi room! Rather nice hotel rooms for the price, very clean and the staff is helpful.
- Sherpa3593 (2/5): A dirty, dilapidated place - This place is only a year or two old, but the cheap construction and finishing really shows. We stayed there two nights in August, and had to change rooms twice due to air conditioning not working in either of our first two rooms. The rooms are standard cheap motel size and decor, but housekeeping is lacking. The front desk staff were friendly and tried to be helpful, but the building itself was pretty shocking. If you need to stay in this area in Shreveport, I recommend you find a different place.
