Guest Reviews
- Heather (7/5): -
- Jonathan (8/5): Great location for exploring Oregon wine country in a charming town - Location The booking. Com confirmation makes NO mention that it has a shared bathroom down the corridor… not a problem but a shock!!
- Tracy (8/5): Good value for a short term stay. - Friendly staff, nicely decorated/furnished rooms. Mattress was very uncomfortable.
- yvonne (8/5): - McMenamins is a flash back to a different era with an Old West feel of boarding rooms of the Great Western Expansion with echoes of rock and roll bands of the Rocking Seventies. Each room is decorated with colorful details and interesting quotations scrolled on the walls. The hotel has a pub, cellar bar, and rooftop bar and eatery offering diverse places for introspection, conversation, and refreshment. Located on the main street, the hotel provides easy access to multiple tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops! A great get-away! Squeaky doors on rooms make a disruptive sound to others when getting up at night to use the toilet. Last year, we were served coffee in a beautiful lounge on the second floor, which wasn't utilized this year. I would recommend providing again. The generator is a little loud, but otherwise it is a great value for the price.
- Donna (9/5): Characteristic pub - stay - Within the facility was band/ music- fantastic no need to venture anywhere elsewhere Our room was next to a “heater vent” so a little noisy.
- mcgilvra (7/5): Overall the stay was excellent and positive. The full length bath robes were plush. - Good restaurants neer by. Get to these early in morning. Bathrooms were far from room.
- Ellen (9/5): Great place in McMinnville - Location, restaurants, staff Bed was not super comfortable
- Cathy (8/5): -
- Edward Esco (9/5): -
- Aaron (10/5): - Great hotel with history, restaurant, rooftop bar, live music on weekends.
- Ute (10/5): -
- Schlegel (6/5): Just overnight - Location It wasn't clear that it was a communal bathroom. There was no chair in the room and when we asked they weren't able to provide one.
- Tiffany (6/5): The Dorm Life - Great location and amazing staff. Parking was a few blocks away and easy to access. The common bathroom was awful. I obviously didn’t read close enough because I would never have chosen a room with a bathroom down the hall and around the corner. Plus, our room was joined to another room and when we opened the door between rooms, the other side was unlocked. So we walked into someone else’s room. It should have been locked on the other side.
- BEAU (10/5): - It’s a unique property. You should know where you were going and what to expect.
- tracybM8475UV (10/5): Loved this charming, old hotel in the heart of McMinnville - Very unique, charming, old hotel. If you're looking for a fancy 5 star you probably won't like this. I enjoyed how different it was. Clean, staff was great, multiple bars and restaurants to go to and you could spend half a day just walking around looking at the artwork on all of the floors. We were fortunate to be there at the end of October so they had the basement pub decorate and it was great. I would love to try another establishment somewhere else. Loved the area the hotel was in as well.
- Maps45161682721 (6/5): Enjoyable hotel environment with lots of noisiness - Very noisy, doors slamming, delivery trucks outside my window , hard to get sleep. Otherwise a very enjoyable hotel environment, decor and staff were very friendly!
- Laura (8/5): - What a unique experience. Loved exploring all the unique features of this hotel. Located in downtown McMinnville allows for several food options and shops. Rooftop bar was cool, restaurant was great. I wish we’d had a little more time so I could’ve explored and experienced all the hotel had to offer.
- 20pn (10/5): Fun, historical spot - Great spot, art, architecture etc right in the middle of town Only drawback was our room was super tight for 2. We opened up to an outside garden on the third floor without anywhere to sit and enjoy.
- erika405 (10/5): Fun stay in McMinnville! - Another cute and quirky McMenamins treasure! We just stayed overnight while visiting Linfield and having our kid take the SAT. We didn’t have a private bathroom, but the showers and bathrooms were steps away from our room. They offered bathrobes, which were useful. We did have a sink in our room which was nice. The location is prime, so close to all the cute shops and cafes. Would stay here again.

- Jamaica RC (9/5): Stayed here with friends on a short wine-tasting trip to the area and loved it. - This is an economical, unique, and super comfortable place to stay in downtown McMinnville. The hotel is "period" and quirky in the best way, with friendly employees and comfortable rooms. Despite a rooftop bar (a great place to watch the sunset from town) and restaurant downstairs (often with an open mic night), the rooms are quiet. This is not a "fancy" place, but it's fun--right in the middle of downtown with free parking a block away (and street parking if you can get it). It's a great choice for unique and economical accommodation.

- 577janisa (10/5): Slept 9 hours! - We were there to be with family and friends to attend the Johnny Limbo and the Lugnuts concert in the park. It was wonderful. The park has shade trees. We danced the whole time. then Back to Hotel Oregon to have a bite to eat before bed. Good grief! We slept till 9:30am
- Connector49724741087 (8/5): One Night Stay - My wife and I drove down from Portland for a one night visit with out of state family travelling through Oregon. McMinnville is a charming town and this hotel is right in the heart of it. Since we were only staying for one night, we opted for a shared bathroom room which was significantly cheaper than a room with private bath. Our room was small but again, adequate for a one night stay. Our bed was comfortable and the room was clean. There was an outside patio off of our room which was a nice touch. We didn’t eat at this property but did enjoy drinks on the rooftop bar which offers great views. There is no in room coffee and the coffee service on our floor was empty when we got up at 9am. It never was refilled but coffee was provided at the ground floor restaurant. I enjoyed the historic aspect of the hotel but it comes with a lack of modern amenities; slow elevator, smaller rooms, lack of on site parking. We would stay here again but probably opt for a private bathroom.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Great place to stay in McMinnville! - Location and charm, rooftop deck Rooms were small but that was to be expected.
- Lei (9/5): This is a very unique hotel and I truly enjoyed the arts. - It’s located right at the heart of the city! The hotel is literally an art gallery with beautiful and creative paintings all over the place and on and in the elevator! The roof top bar offers great views! The staff were so nice and cordial. I had to share bathroom, which was okay, except that I didn’t feel comfortable showering.
- T'ana (4/5): - We got a very small room. Other queen rooms are bigger and the same price.
- Clifford (10/5): Small and funky - This hotel is in a very old building. The place has a ton of character and is lots of fun. Our room was very small (almost all bed) and the bathroom was a community bathroom down the hall.
- patti (8/5): - First, I have a severe gluten allergy. We went to two different McMenamins this weekend, and there’s another one in my hometown. Each restaurant has at least a two page menu and each of them have exactly one gluten-free marked option on them. They have gluten-free burger buns, so I ordered a burger with no bun at all. Still got Glutened and sick on Friday night, before we ever made it to our destination where we were staying for the weekend. Still sick as we head home on Sunday. Second,
We went with another couple and would have liked to have adjoining rooms with a shared bathroom. They got the last one so we got a separate room, communal bathroom.
Turns out the 2 rooms with connected bathroom is what they had! They said there was nothing to indicate that on the reservation. The staff were really nice and comped them a night, and took $100 off of what we paid. But it could’ve gone so much more smoothly if it were clear at the outset that not only did they have two beds but they also had two rooms with the bathroom connecting them. We are doing the passport thing together, but it looks like I’ll have to pack my own food for the future visits. There are 28 locations. I think a company this big could do a better job of accommodating food allergies. It’s not like a food truck with limited options. Maybe their old kitchens are limited, but I’m still not looking forward to the future visits.
- louis (10/5): Unique hotel. No problem with the shared bathrooms. - Perfect location. Eclectic vibe. Very friendly. Rooftop closed early.
- Nell (8/5): Needs a little love, but still had fun! - Loved being in McMinnville, and usually love McMenamins. This property is one of the older ones, and doesn't seem to have been maintained carefully. Lots of scuffs on the walls and doors. Still enjoyed our stay, just wish they'd spruce this wonderful property up a bit to bring it back to its glory!
- E6603SWmarkh (10/5): Great way to spend an anniversary! Unexpected festival on the closed streets every weekend, the staff was magical. - Great location in the middle of wine country, restaurants, and shopping. We could literally walk outside and into a shop, restaurant or wine tasting. The history on the walls added to the delightful experience. Staff and strangers were engaging.
- Mary (8/5): Very good - The location is great in the heart of downtown McMinnville. McMenamins hotels are always quirky and fun and the staff very helpful. We were on the 4th floor and Friday morning was trash pick up day. Even in our room 4 floors up, the sounds of the trash being pick up at 3:30am and then recycling at 4:30am was cacophonous. I just got back to sleep after the 1st pickup, then was jolted awake again an hour later!
- Coppinger (7/5): Refreshing - The history the location the views at the top the bed comfortability. Shared restrooms/showers but that’s on me I didn’t read into the hotel.
- Patricia (10/5): A memorable time!! - Did not eat at the hotel, chose not to as there are too many great offerings in mcminville
As a retired traveler, I truly appreciate comfort, cleanliness, and friendly service—and this hotel delivered on all fronts. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by the front desk staff person, and we were well taken care of. The staff were genuinely kind and attentive, always ready with a smile and helpful suggestions. bar tenders attentive, especially in the Cellar Bar (young lady with blonde hair)
The room was spotless, quiet, and very comfortable — a little small see below ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. I especially enjoyed the peaceful ambiance and the thoughtful touches that made the stay feel special, such as the cozy bedding and amenities. The bed super comfy. thank you for the complimentary coffee. yum. we chose a room without a bathroom due to cost and it was small. it would be nice to have a chair or stool in these small rooms so you can put your shoes on. How about placing some towels in the shared shower room?
- Bryan (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen T. (10/5): - I choose McMenamins whenever possible because I know that it will be a memorable stay filled with unique experiences! The Oregon Hotel did not disappoint with delicious food, gracious staff and a restful nights sleep. Five stars!
- Edward (5/5): Passable - Layout was unusual and interesting. Tough parking. It took a long time to get a drink at the bar. One bartender and few wait staff. Strawberry Salad had one cut up strawberry.
- Ed (8/5): This is a wonderful old property with a lot of history and is located in a great location. - The location was perfect in a quaint downtown area. i didn't care for the shared bathroom concept as i have to get up and go to the restroom during the night.
- Elaine (8/5): Very good -
- Bradley (10/5): - rooftop bar was cool
- Abraham (8/5): - This hotel has small rooms and no bathroom in the room you have to share a common bathroom
- Lauren (9/5): Must stay! - Loved the location, the hotels decor/vibe, friendly staff, free coffee, restaurant and rooftop bar! Bed was pretty uncomfortable and don’t love the common/shared bathrooms.
- David (10/5): A great place to stay - Classic old hotel, well restored. Walking distance to excellent food and nice neighborhoods.
- Charmaine (8/5): Staff was exceptional. Very thoughtful! - Coffee was very weak. Like water. Need to use more coffee grounds for full flavor.
- Alexandra (3/5): I will never go back. - The location Rooms are old, used up, windows can't be opened, bathroom was sub standard.
- Pam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rodrigo (10/5): - It's an amazing place, really cozy and unique. There is a pub, a cellar bar, another one on the roof..the rooms are really nice too.
- Alan (10/5): Will be back when in the area - Love McMinnamin’s vibe. Lovely furnishings in a restored character full old building. Staff is friendly and helpful.
- Tierney (8/5): Very good -
- Alexandra (9/5): Fun and interesting hotel in a charming town. - Such an interesting and artsy hotel with a poppin' rooftop bar and speakeasy style cellar bar. Important to know - the shower room is across the hall.
- Cari (6/5): Pleasant - The room was small but comfortable. The bed was comfortable and there was a sink in room. The “shared” bathroom is not attached to rooms but separate like a dorm bathroom. It was far from my room so not very convenient. Hotel heater or boiler for building was loud at night. There’s no tv or amenities in the room. Price was a little lower than local hotel but not enough for lack of amenities and convenience. No parking either. Restaurant is good and location is fun if your looking for that
- Kim (10/5): - Great
- Ravi (10/5): - The shared bathrooms are not cleaned regularly. The sink in the bedroom does not drain
- Thomson (10/5): Ticked all the boxes - Great place
- Thomson (10/5): Great for work stay. Friendly service, thank you -
- Deanna (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (4/5): Room Heater Prevented Sleep - The room heater was incredibly loud and prevented me from getting much sleep at all. Also, because of the shared bathroom, there was no water to drink in the room and no bottles of water available anywhere on the property. Would never stay here again!
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Geri (10/5): - We had a great stay. It was perfectly located and had so much to walk too. We definitely would stay again
- Shelley (9/5): Superb -
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shelene (6/5): - No bathroom in the room. Had to go down the hall to shower. It was noisy due to bar and restaurant.
- John (9/5): Quirky old hotel lovingly restored. Not for everyone; I like it. - It’s a quirky old hotel from 1906, like all the McMenamin properties. It’s my favorite McMenamin hotel. Several “themed” bars, and a fine restaurant and bar streetside with excellent breakfasts. Perfect location right in the heart of McMinnville’s beautiful Old Town. Rooms are a bit small for modern tastes, especially those with a full bathroom (it uses about a quarter of the room). On street parking can be a couple of blocks away at busy times.
- hilairebro (8/5): Worth a trip - Love that they saved that cool old hotel. The location is so convenient and in easy walking distance to tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops.
The pillows and bed were comfortable. The coffee was hot and tasty in the morning.
We enjoyed the cellar bar.
- Alicia (6/5): - The images on Expedia are wrong. I booked two queen beds with a shared bathroom. The pictures show that they are adjoined with the bathroom in the middle so the four of us can all stay close together. When we arrived that was not the case we were on totally different floors and shared a bathroom with everybody on the floor. Spoke to the staff about it and they said they are aware of this and multiple people complain about the inaccuracy of it but there was nothing they could do because that room was booked
- Sarah (10/5): - We very much enjoyed staying at the Mcmenamins Hotel Oregon. Each of the bars on site were unique and fun, and the staff was attentive and friendly. The blocks around the hotel have fun shops to explore as well. It was a perfect little getaway!
- Judi (8/5): Very good -
- Pamela (9/5): Great overnight stay in McMinnville. Our rooms reservations were incorrectly transferred to the hotel, but luckily there - Location/unique
- Lois (10/5): - Clean and interesting as usual at McMennamins properties, love them!
- Bethany (10/5): - Hotel Oregon was amazing. I was nervous beforehand about the common bath but it was so clean. The front desk staff was so nice and helpful. The property was really cute and right on the main street. I will definitely stay again.
- Chelsea (10/5): - We loved this historic building and all of the unique amenities! McMinnville was super fun for a short visit.
- Jane (8/5): - Property was nice however there is not any onsite parking. You will have to park in a parking garage a couple blocks from the hotel.
Although this hotel is pet friendly, the closest park is several blocks away. There is not a place for pets at the hotel and they can’t go anywhere but the room and cannot be left alone in there. Bit disappointing in that regard.
- Cindy (10/5): We had a short 1 night stay and loved all the ammenities. - We love staying at McMenamins throughout the NW. It is fun to have a Passport and go through the activities. The room itself was small. We were prepared for shared bathrooms, which was fine with a nice robe provided.
- Leo (10/5): Wonderful stay - The staff was wonderful. Very helpful and nice. I'm not sure who greeted us on Tuesday, but he was great. Dinner was very good on Tuesday nite drinks in the Cellar Bar with Elly were fun, and Thursday breakfast fantastic. Maybe a sitting chair in the room.
- Michelle (9/5): Its our job to place stay when we come down fir the Linfield football games. - Love the location. Don’t love the food in the restaurant.
- Jeffery (8/5): Very good -
- Tiffany (9/5): Fun Experience - Fun quirky place! Bathroom down the hall for most rooms but wasn’t bad. Adds to the experience of the old hotel. Very thing was very clean.
- Joseph (10/5): - The entire staff of this hotel are truly diligent and committed to customer service. It is the BEST location in McMinnville. I will definitely choose to stay again.
- Christy (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We like staying at McMenamins in McMinville. It is pet friendly which is fantastic, as we travel with our dog all the time.
The restaurant has great food and the staff is always friendly.
- Ashton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rees (9/5): Superb - The only thing I didn't like was shared bathrooms The fact I had to walk to the bathroom at 3am was daunting, and kept me awake
- Mohammad (8/5): - Awesome hotel great staff, love the history and the way we came about the UFO story. Great location. Restaurants close early in the are 9PM is the time. One minus, the hotel thin walls are not to our favor noise is an issue from other rooms.
- Victoria (7/5): Charming hotel - Very charming, great location and the on-site restaurant and bars were great. The decor was interesting and eclectic. It was fun to read all the signs and study the paintings for Easter eggs. Each room had a history or namesake and was fascinating to learn. Clean and staff was above and beyond. I was unaware of the shared bathrooms when I booked. It was still comfortable but a little inconvenient. It is an old hotel on the main street, so it's not the quietest spots. There were some parties going on nearby and we heard a few people celebrating on the street.
- Pauls_Travel_Tips (8/5): Boutique Hotel and Room Vary - A clean, comfortable bed, though probably too soft for some. A small room even smaller when you have a bicycle. Good AC/Heat which was good when it was a warm day and cool night. Some hall noise, but no problem with noise room to room. The roof top bar had a great view and was nice. Overall a pleasant stay.
- Bollenbacher (10/5): Great stay, we'll be back! - Loved the uniqueness of this hotel. I felt like I was staying in an art museum!
The rooftop bar was fabulous! We would like to try other McMenamins to compare!
- Mark (10/5): More of an experience than just a hotel - Quirky old building full of history and teeming with “art”. Discovered something new every day as we walked out of our room. Staff are friendly and helpful. Free covered parking a block away.
- Cynthia (6/5): An old hotel with a unique vibe. - Nice downtown location & great staff. Rooftop bar/restaurant has beautiful views & great bartender. Sink in our room was filthy with what had to be backed up sewage (no fault of housekeeping as I’m sure they had cleaned it). Front desk responded & cleaned/sanitized the sink. Woke up in morning to same mess in sink. We should have been put in another room after 1st incident.
- michael (8/5): - Love the decor
- Guy (10/5): - Quirky historic hotel which is right up my street. No on-site parking but there is a free parking garage just a block or two away. Very convenient location. Many rooms do not have their own bathroom so if that matters, pick one that does.
- Liza (2/5): Great location, otherwise a total miss - The location is the only good thing about this hotel. Where to begin …. No toilet or shower in the room. Names on doors felt like horror show material.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robin (8/5): - Historic hotel with very fun decor. Very small room with the bathroom located communally. Fine if you know that going in and workable if you spend most of the day walking or eating in the city. My only issue was the Expedia room options show only one type of room and says there is a sink in the room. While some rooms have sinks, not all do. So just be prepared. The good news is the room rate is very reasonable, and the downtown location is prefect. One other note - the hotel does not have parking as noted in the Expedia description; however, there is free city parking a couple blocks away.
- Herb (8/5): Very good -
- Ljcoonrad (6/5): Great spot - tired hotel. - We enjoyed being right down town in the cute McMinnville. The unique aspect of the hotel chain makes it charming. The hotel is quaint old restored building and we liked that aspect but in this case it was a bit too "old". Maybe it needs another make over? We knew we had a shared bathroom but one for the whole floor meant it was quite a far ways away. It was a very small room without a lot of window air. The bed was not comfortable.
- Ellen (8/5): - Love all the artwork and calligraphy!
- Tanya (10/5): Great location, no frills, clean - Exactly what i was looking for. Clean, quiet, perfect location
- douglas (10/5): Evergreen Museum stop 2 days - Heart of McMinnville. Nice safe restaurant/ wine tasting room populated core. McMinneman’s properties are decades long known for tastefully eclectic montage.
Property is for the real traveler, far away from WASPy sterile Hilton. Enjoy the ride. Great beer and food.
