Guest Reviews
- Susan (10/5): Myrtle Chalet - The cabin was a decent and comfortable place to stay. When the city's power went out the first night, I was able to communicate with the property owner who sent me the outage report. That was very nice unfortunately it was out until the next afternoon, no fault of there's. I would recommend them having more hand towels and some washcloths.
- corrie (10/5): - Another great experience here one thing i recommend is more toilet paper we were left with half a roll
- adam (10/5): - Great location awesome host! Will be back again thanks again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Bring firewood in the winter - There were only 4 cereal bowls we found, so plan accordingly. The heater didn’t work too well so it was cold until our very last day.
The value was very good and overall we were happy. The lack of heat was the biggest bummer. There is a fireplace, bring firewood!
- MAYRA (10/5): - Perfect cabin for the family & pets.
- Carlos (8/5): - The rooms were so cold but everything is was fine.
- Gia (10/5): Great Family Spot! - This was our second year coming to this same property during the month of November. It is a close quick drive to everything and it is such the perfect little place for a family. We will be coming back again at the request of our kids! They love the yard, and also how close of a walk it is to the fun boulder climbing down the street!
- Tony (10/5): - We like it cuz it's three bedroom and it's also close to Trailhead because we went up to take our Jeeps out
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nearly perfect! - An excellent spot for my family of 4 and our dog to enjoy a few days in Big Bear. With a small playground, a large yard, three comfortable bedrooms and lots of little surprises for the whole family (including toys for the little one), we had a wonderful stay. We had a lot of fun and felt very cozy! The only notes (admittedly mostly nitpicks) I would have for improvement would be the following:
The outside and the playground look a bit run down. A fresh coat of paint would do a lot to make the place look more inviting. The interior is lovely, though!
Even if the play structure doesn't get a fresh coat of paint, it should be sanded to remove splinters as both of my kids got nasty splinters while playing on it.
While the main yard is nicely enclosed, a gate separating the playground from the driveway/street would make me feel much safer letting my kids play there.
A couple of the windows are missing their screens, forcing visitors to choose between getting a cross-breeze and keeping the bugs out. The place is very well insulated when the windows are closed, though!
- Ruben (10/5): - The place was small and cozy. Perfect for my little family. No problems at all. Very close to everything. Extra clean when we arrived. We would love to book this place again in the future.
- Alex (10/5): Perfect place - Was excellent.
- Gia (8/5): Cozy for a family - Cozy cabin, perfect for our family to escape. Could have improved on the little things like the amenities. Maybe more than one roll of toilet paper, more garbage bags, more small things like a lighter to start the fire, more dishes, more convenience items would have been nice (sweetener for coffee), body wash, shampoo (we didn’t have enough). We loved walking down the street to the base of a mountain with boulders. The kids had a blast hiking around them. Quiet nice neighborhood! Nice big family couch! Front yard is gated so our dog had a blast outside and the kids enjoyed playing on the play set in the backyard. Easy 15 min drive to downtown big bear.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Wouldn't recommend, deposit nightmare - Deposit hanging from a thread.
Lose toilet, lose floor tiles, no screens, lose cabinet in the hallway, no functioning lights. The whole house would be really hot but opening windows without screens, mosquitoes would come in. Bad refrigerator, food went to waste on first day. Overall wouldn't recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Place to Stay - I had a wonderful stay. The house feels very cozy and welcoming. While it has neighbors on both sides, the backyard is very private. There is hardly any noise throughout the day and night. It's less than a 10-minute drive to Big Bear Village. You can make it to the biking trailhead of Big Bear Lake within five minutes. It is next to a few open roads, making it perfect for early morning runs.
The house has everything you need. Appliances, dishes, heat, cable (Sling), a fireplace. Towels, blankets, and sheets are provided. Everything is functional. The furniture could use some replacing, and you could tell a dog stayed in the house at some point. Other than that, it is a wonderful place to stay. I will most likely be returning on my next trip to Big Bear.
- Richard (10/5): - Cozy beds and sheets, nice back yard
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Property was well maintained and family friendly! We enjoyed having a kitchen for our children during the trip and a nice big yard. Great place to stay and enjoy relaxation.
- Eva V. (10/5): I enjoy my stay at the house u will love to come again - I will give this property 5 stars
- Carrie (8/5): - The property was as a whole worked good for us. We loved the yard. Big trees. Fenced yard. Private. Great driveway. The house was outdated but that didn’t stop us from having a spectacular time. Great layout. Comfortable, separated rooms, kitchen was big enough, neat little bar seating etc. but could use some freshening up. We had a great time and already looked into booking again for thanksgiving but it’s already booked!
- adrian (4/5): - Didn’t like the Property, or the location. The house need to be cleaned. Not again!!!!!!
- SK (6/5): - Dated property. Serves the need as a stop in the day but very pricey for what you get. We’ve stayed at a couple locations before in Big Bear and this was the most dated property so far. Be careful of the shower as the hot water is variable and may scald the kids if you don’t watch it carefully. Picture does not represent conditions accurately. Was also welcomed by a nice large spider living in the wood pile near the fire place. Bring you own dishes, amenities etc.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It’s a good place overall.
