- Nugroho Arie (8/5): - I came with 3 kids to the hotel for a 3 nights transit in Jakarta. Was surprised there were several kids activity arranged during those days. Kids really enjoyed it. The hotel is also strategically situated close to Pondok Indah Mall and Cilandak Town Square avoiding long traffic jam when having some appointment with friends.
- rab965 (10/5): Kristal has a very relaxed vibe & excellent guest care. A clean, good value local hotel in S.Jakarta. - The Hotel Kristal is still one of my favorite places to stay. I've been traveling to Indonesia for work for over 20 years. For all my Jakarta trips, I stay at the Kristal. In the past it has been a bit of an icon for the expat community (Satu Lagi bar, close to JIS, etc). But overall there is a very relaxed vibe, good food, terrific staff, and excellent guest care that has made the hotel 'my home away from home' for all these years. The hotel is in need of a refresher, but it remains a very clean and good value hotel - for short or long stay; 3.5/5 Stars. It is in S.Jakarta but close to two MRT stations - so easy access to SCBD etc....and you avoid the dreaded traffic 'macet' of getting into central Jakarta. But where the hotel scores 5/5, is it's staff - always welcoming, friendly and helpful. Special mention to some staff for being so kind and attentive over many years: the ladies in the Deli Cafe (Rini, Elsa, Kiki and Tri), front desk (Dwi and Bella), and front lobby (Indra, Taufik & Yusuf). So, if you want a very good stay in Jakarta at a local hotel - give the Kristal a try.

- Paul (10/5): Great Hotel with Great Staff - Great hotel with great staff. Wasn’t expecting too much for the price but it was perfect for my stay. Good internet, good pool, great breakfast, as good as most 5 star hotels but just a bit older and worn but not worn out. Loved the Satu Lagi bar for getting a drink and dinner.

Will always have Hotel Kristal in mind every time I need spaces for family and friends. Service element was oke, but quite fast for peak check in check out period. Food at the restaurant was worth the price. I would prefer a la carte myself.

Room is very clean & all facilites inside the room working well without any problem. Facilites for the kids also good.There is huge swimming pool, playground & game room.Make your kids happy. I have to mention Mr Arief from reception is very attentive. He knows Im coming with my family & he trying find the room as soon as possible for us. We're coming around 13.10 (normal check in time is 15.00), but Mr Arief give us the room around 13.40. Really apreciate. Very rare find that kind of service in any other hotel.Bless for him. - Keith (10/5): - I’ve stayed at Hotel Kristal many times over the last 15 years. The staff are most friendly and accommodating and the pool and Satu Lagi Bar are great. I will stay there again if in Jakarta. If I could point out anything on the negative side, is the facility needs a facelift. My room, for example, was clean but clearly showed signs of wear and tear. Understandable given that COVID was such a setback to business. Note that WiFi was excellent the entire week I was there. Many thanks to hotel staff for a very pleasant stay.

Small TV Our blanket had blood on it and we called for a replacement Waited for an hour We went to the front desk and they said they were out of linen. They asked us is we wanted to change rooms but it was already 11pm. We gave them the brilliant idea to get the linens from another room. Finally after 2 hours we got a replacement. This is not a 4 star hotel. Should be 3

I am happily surprised to experience the weekend stay with colleagues in 3-bedded room one. It was spacious (compared to some similar concept) and well maintained especially the floor, bathroom and kitchen. Very happy. Another highlight was the food at the restaurant: tasty. Thank youuuuuu…. Will definitely return for staycation with friends and family

I got the bedroom with no TV… she doesn’t watch TV…but her closest was bigger and she would not switch with me! But this time unfortunately i got a room on the 8th floor and it wasn’t as comfortable as usual because the air conditioning was not cold enough.Got the technician came to check and they said that’s already the coldest.Tried to move room but the reception said it’s fully booked.I wondered as i booked way in advance.Anyway, hopefully in the future it’ll be better.Still good value of money and good location because the event i attended to was located very close to the hotel.Thanks

- Cecilia (2/5): - Went there and asked if the room had a balcony. Wanted to upgrade for a 3-bed. Hotel staff was very kind to show the interior of both 2- and 3-bed before the room assignment. The rooms are just really bare I guess that would be the best word to describe it. Intended to stay for longer time but booked couple nights just for the safe size as the photos from online are not the same as when walking into both units. Portable stove some sort in the 2-bed. It was old and white light white walls. It was so uncomfortable. I left without staying. Tried to ask for at least one night reimbursement. Hotel staff said no. This is a horrible experience to be honest. It is a solid for not returning.

The smoking rooms were horribly unpleasant (we weren’t offered a non-smoking room), hard to believe these are even offered this day and age. Tolerable if you need to be in the area to avoid all the traffic.

The room eventhough Kristal hotel is an old hotel but surprisingly all room are well maintained and quite comfortable for family with fully functioning stove. Microwave and kitchen set. The Coffeshop located in tower 2 was good and very helpfull staff from security,, receptions,, coffeshop attendand.. The swimingpool is good and the kids love to.

Today when i was checking in the front desk staff (young lady) said there is no available Non smoking room in higher floor, Whaaaaattt?? So what is the point to send me an email that my request has been approved?? I showed her the email that i’ve got from kristal hotel, and she said that is only the automatic reply, 🥴🤷🏽♂️the other staff very friendly tho, specially the concierge, I dont think im going back to stay at this property in the future

- Watertime2 (8/5): Resort Style Experience at the Kristal - The Kristal is a fine hotel reminiscent of the 80's and 90's big hotel architecture and theme. Studio suite is large, well equipped with mini kitchen, the king bed is exceptionally comfortable with pillows for all sleeping preferences. The air conditioning works very well and the bathroom amenities are well planned. Laundry turnaround is same day, room service is fast with great food selection and reasonable prices. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, everything from eggs made to order to sushi, Thai, Indian and Western options offered daily. The dining room is quite large with excellent views available of the pool area. The resort style pool offers a swim up bar, extra lounges around the pool would be a plus. The gym is a highlight, extremely large and well laid out with state of the art machines and free weight options. Sauna on sight, massage services available most of the day and night. The hotel is definitely worthy of a short or extended stay.

However, upon arrival we were informed that the pool bar was permanently closed - very misleading and deceiving. Furthermore, I accidentally left my bathers at the hotel and returned the following day to retrieve them. I was disgusted that the hotel receptionist said on the phone that the bathers were owned by a “wanita yang gemuk”. Little did she know was that I can understand Bahasa and was aware of what she said. Very disappointing with both the closed pool bar and the offensive comment that was made about me by the receptionist. Would not recommend!

- Robert Lothar (10/5): Home Away from Home - Staff always goes out of their way to help with problems, only traffic around that Area is horrible in afternoon due to International School nearby. Room Service could act faster and food should be HOT when arrive, often it is sadly cool or cold.
- Sneekie (6/5): Glory days are gone - We used to stay here since 2005, sometimes for months due to relocation. It was always good and a simple but comfortable home away from home. Today those days are gone. I do not know what happened? The staff are no longer motivated, rooms have not changed since 2005, it all looks tired. Prices are too high for what it is now. There are better options in the area for less. An exemption has to be made for the satu lagi bar, there still seems to be a little vibe and staff seem to have fun in what they are doing. Keep up the good work!
- untarid (8/5): Impressive classic minimalist room design - It's been a while since my last review. A bit lazy to write, but the hotel ambience worth to review. I visited this hotel on December 2019, after having a long walk in Ragunan zoo. Too exhausted to drive home so we decided to spend one night to relax in this hotel. We chose this hotel coz it only took 15 minutes driving from the zoo. We booked for a 2-bedroom suite. Nothing special on the check-in process. They have two tower building and our room was located on the tower 2. The room is nice and big. Everything is efficiently arrange to create a cozy living enviroment. Eventhough small, the pantry has fridge,cookware hob and hood, dinner sets, microwave, toaster, dispenser and many things so you can prepare your own meal if you are so lazy to go out. But i am not a big fan of electrical stoves, so just use the microwave insteads. The dining room just located next to the pantry then followed by the living room. Both rooms are great with classical minimalist furniture. I love the design of the bedroom and bathroom. Just made you feel at home. we didn't have a chance to taste their food though. But overall, this hotel is great, and hotel staffs are friendly. Will definitely stay again if I visited Jakarta.
- THFC69 (8/5): Good base - Decent 4* hotel, located to the south of the city. Staff are polite and willing to please. Breakfast buffet selection wide ranging, but often cold. Eggs including omelettes cooked to order very quickly. Studio suite had everything needed if a little dated and housekeeping was good standard. Air conditioning efficient but noisy, as was running water from adjoining rooms. Supposed to be a non smoking hotel, however cigarette smoke very apparent in rooms and corridors, probably coming in via A.C. Swimming pool has towels available and well maintained, very busy at weekends though. Plenty of taxis onsite for trips to city. WiFi also good and free.

- Ian (6/5): Don't let the bug bites get you down! - One word on the decor - DATED! Desperately needs a refresh. BUT the room is clean and the bed is divine! Mattress was firm, and the sheets were soft and clean. Best part of the stay. But don't sit on the chairs and sofa. Fabric has not been cleaned for ages evidenced by the dust mite bites that I had. But outside the room, the restaurant was nice and clean and airy. Food was pretty good. The swimming pool was really nice and the gym well stocked. Overall, it was a pleasant trip, bug bites notwithstanding!

The rooms are awesome, and completely worth the "expensive" price (in Rupiah, of course). We skipped the breakfast, because it was a little too pricey. (I understand why they have it, though, there's not too many walk-able options.)

- Verified traveler (4/5): Bad attitude at check-in - Check-in was disappointing, our requests were not read well, so we ended up wasting time asking for room change. My two guests were given smoking rooms, while we stated all non-smoking. I was given twin bed instead of double bed, and when entering the room the electricity was off, which later they apologised that it was supposed to have been done by the staff. When calling receptionist, no answer, so I had to walk back down finding them chatting with each other. Despite our complaints, the receptionists showed no apologies, very bad attitude.
