- Steven (10/5): - Excellent desert tent camp with all the necessary comfort and real desert feel. The host was very welcoming and organised also a stunning cultural dance performance for the evening. It was incredible. The mornings with the beautiful sunrise was amazing.
- Kumar (10/5): Enjoyed the Jaislemer Hospitality in the heart if the desert - Everything abt this place is good - Simple luxury if there is a word
- Harikrishnan (10/5): - The property is clean, beautiful and secluded, and the staff work meticulously to ensure your comfort. The food is great and the cultural activities organized are amazing. The ATV tour isnt organized by the camp, but is available for you to pick once you are in the dunes. Id strongly advice you to skip it.

- Sara (10/5): Fabulous small friendly desert camp stay - We choose this desert camp because of it’s size, with only 10 tents, which provided a wonderful stay as it felt small and intimate.
The owner and staff were lovely, and the owner is working hard on their eco friendliness both in camo and the surrounding lands.
Evening entertainment was provided, which was wonderful, along with a large fire pit and sand dune activities for those who wanted them.
The camo had several swing seats, outdoor seating and a veranda with seating. As well as a platform to view the stars in the night, excellent star gazing.
The only negative was that dinner was not until 9pm!!! Which was too late for us to eat They did provide snacks during the entertainment and offered us lunch when we arrived.
- Rao (10/5): - Authentic rustic experience!!!
Excellent customer service. Only 10 tents, unlike many others that look like army barracks. Good food, clean facilities. Book it.
- Stephen (10/5): - This property was remote and secluded, making it a quiet retreat. Since it is so remote, getting to it was challenging, but once you are here it is a little slice of an desert oasis to get away from the noise of the city. The staff were amazing and accommodating. The food was delicious and plentiful. You can sign up for extra excursions if you like. The entertainment was incredible and very talented. I really enjoyed my stay here.
- Thinaratchagi (9/5): Superb - Damodara Desert Camp offers an authentic Indian desert experience in Jaisalmer. The friendly staff ensures a warm stay, while the delicious food and mesmerizing live cultural performances make it unforgettable. With comfortable tents, it’s the perfect getaway for those seeking tradition, hospitality, and adventure in Rajasthan.
- Kartik (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, very clean and close to nature. Perfect resort for a quiet and relaxing holiday.
- Sarah (2/5): Beautiful, luxurious camp. Note - all male staff - Beautifully designed and decorated, a lot of care has been taken to design the space luxuriously and comfortably ALL MALE STAFF. As as couple travelling, me a white British woman with my Indian partner, we were worried when we arrived and found it was all male staff. There were no female staff at all and no security at the place. Although we had a wonderful time and were welcomed, it was uncomfortable. We wished it had been clearer in the description that it was all male staff as we try to make sure we are extra careful when travelling in India.
- Ankita (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay in the Damodra Desert Camp. All the staff including the owner were extremely gracious. The cleanliness, the food and the planned activities were perfect.
The best part of the stay was how they believed that since people get the chance to travel to a particular destination only once, everything needs to be perfect and that is exactly how our stay was, perfect. They were all smiles and put in a lot of effort for desert safari, camel rides, cultural shows, star gazing and especially the food. We liked everything.
- Priyakhi (10/5): - If you are looking for quiet and peaceful camp then this is the spot! Awesome hospitality and service. Camp showcase Rajasthani tradition and culture very well unlike other commercial camps. Worth for value!!
- Hrishikesh (10/5): Amazing & Authentic Desert Stay!! - The location of the resort is just before the Sam Village wherefrom the Sam Desert Dunes begin. The resort has 10 tents making it nice and cozy for families wanting quiet and a proper and authentic Rajasthani experience. When we visited, most of the resort was empty due to the elections which is why we had the resort pretty much to ourselves. The Staff was very attentive, responsive and helpful in anything we wanted. They went all the way to make our stay memorable. The hotel has sand boards for when you visit the Desert during the camel safari. My kids enjoyed the activity so much, that they wanted to stay back for more days. The food at the resort was also tasty and amazing. The highlight of the trip was the cultural performance which was performed by people of the nearby village itself. The resort also feeds peacocks which is why there are hundreds of peacocks at the resort which makes it even more picturesque. Even when i told the locals in Jaisalmer that i was going to stay in Damodara, they commended me for my choice. All in all a great way to end our trip.
- Viral (10/5): Exceptional - We recently had the exceptional pleasure of experiencing a one-night stay at the Damodra desert camp. It was nothing short of a magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience. From the moment we arrived, we were completely enveloped in the unique atmosphere and charm of the desert & camp site.
The camp was tastefully arranged with a rustic charm that blended beautifully with the natural surroundings. The tents were spacious and comfortable, equipped with all necessary amenities that ensured a comfortable stay without compromising the authentic desert experience. The warm, comfortable beds ensured a good night's sleep, and the little touches like lanterns and local decor added to the overall charm.
The evening was a delightful affair, with the setting sun painting the desert in hues of vibrant orange and deep purple. After sunset, the traditional rajasthani music lit up the area, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere.
The food was another highlight of our stay. The traditional cuisine served was both delicious and plentiful, offering an immersive taste of the local culture. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful specially Mr.Prithvi, always on their toes to ensure every guest was attended to.
The star-lit sky provided a stunning backdrop for the night. With no light pollution, the view of the stars was truly breathtaking.
Waking up to the serene morning desert view, with the soft golden light of dawn, was a sight to behold. The morning activities like camel riding and sandboarding were thrilling and gave us a true sense of desert adventure.
In conclusion, the Damodra desert camp offers an unparalleled experience that combines adventure, culture, and tranquility. It's an ideal escape for those seeking a unique getaway, a night under the stars, and an intimate encounter with the desert's captivating beauty. We couldn't recommend it more. We left with beautiful memories and a deep appreciation for the Damodra desert camp.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic experience, great food and entertainment
- Shruti (10/5): - Beautiful stay , the staff is very courteous and friendly. We had a great experience
- humberto (10/5): Excellent! - Delicious food! Excellent staff! Amazing show! I don’t believe that could be a better choice!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My family had a great stay at Damodra. The staff were great, and everyone from my seven year old son to my in-laws enjoyed the accommodations (more comfortable beds than some of the 5 star hotels we also stayed in on this trip!), the food, the entertainment (I typically have pretty low expectations for the quality of shows at hotels, but the music and dancing was truly extremely good), and the camel ride (the wranglers of camels Rocket, Magu, and Michael were very accommodating, especially with letting my son get a solo ride and ‘steer’ himself). Highly recommend!
- Swetha (10/5): Wonderful experience! - Absolutely worth the amount we paid for this experience! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the desert safari organized was great. We enjoyed every minute of our short stay here.
- PC (10/5): Nice Camp in the middle of nowhere! - Nice Camp, friendly staff, great location. Make sure to add another $30 to the cost for ride to and back from the camp. This isn't very clear.
- Neerad (10/5): Charming desert experience - Desert camps are now big business in the Thar Desert but even amidst this crowded space, Damodra stands a head above the competition. Unlike other luxury properties where they stick tents in the back of the hotel property, this site is solely focused on the desert camp experience. The tents were comfortable and well appointed. The camel rides were well run. The evening entertainment was excellent, food was also great (mostly vegetarian fair with some laal maas, a spicy local mutton dish). They've put a lot of attention into creating outdoor spaces that are comfortable and ooze desert charm, including diwan seating for a morning cup of chai and separate star-gazing observatory. The staff were all polite and helpful. Clearly a well run place and worthy of all the positive reviews I'd read online before taking the plunge. We'd definitely love to come back.
- Janaki (10/5): - The reviews were all mostly extremely positive and my experience confirms the positive rating. The tent was immaculate and comfortable, the areas to watch the sunset and sunrise were a nice touch and the location is separated from other camps enough that you get the true desert experience. The staff were amazingly polite and friendly - only complaint is the lateness of the dinner meal. It was at 8:30 one night and 9:30pm the next - way too late for my little kids and the snacks prior also take a long time. The food is fairly simple but I don't expect anything more elaborate in a desert setting. My only thought was whether it is overpriced - it is significantly more expensive than all the other tents except for the one uber luxury one. Having not seen the others, I don't know if this is twice as good as the other tents but on its own, it was amazing - certainly would not pay more than twice as much for Serai.
- Alan (10/5): Luxury 'camping in the desert - We had a great time from the time we were picked up at the office until we were dropped off again. The staff were especially helpful and the experience was very peaceful. All very luxurious for the surroundings but perhaps a little overpriced.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Awesome stay. The staff took great care!!! - Great experience. This tent is named after a close by village damodar. All workers are from the same village and thus they all make sure that guest stay is comfortable. Highly recommend.
- Sadashiva (10/5): Excellent stay, food, hospitality and place! - Memorable stay at the Damodra Desert Camp. Excellent accommodation, wonderful & super-attentive staff, good food, talented performing folk artists, and a perfect starry night in the desert!
