Guest Reviews
- Hugh (8/5): A great location but difficult accommodation conditions for us. - The staff certainly made our stay a comfortable one. They were exceptional and we had great conversations with them. Thank goodness for backpackers. All meals were included and were good. The pool was lovely and refreshing…..we certainly needed it. Bailey helped us with our luggage as you could not park near the accommodation. Thank you so much Bailey, you are a great asset as with all the staff to the company. Nothing was a problem and they all attended to our every need. The Helispirit helicopter flight over the Bungle Bungles was outstanding. Thank you Cameron (pilot). A must do. The room was extremely hot with only a pedestal fan which did not cool the room until the sun went down.
- Thomson (10/5): Amazing place with awesome staff. - Remote location All great for a Eco Lodge

- Luca (10/5): Fantastic! - Everything! Delicious food, staff go above and beyond to help customers A nit: an extra light on the bathroom mirror would make shaving easier
- Marianne (8/5): Visiting the Bungle bungles was made even more special because we were able to stay overnight in Savannah lodge. - The staff were very friendly and the chef made up a meal for me because of my allergies. So nice! It would have been convenient if there were signs up pointing to cabin numbers. A small fridge in the cabins would be appreciated- especially for travellers moving on.

- Tracey (9/5): Superb -
- Mel (10/5): Exceptional - great hospitality and cleanliness
- Dina (10/5): Fantastic! - Location was great and staff were very positive. Kitchen team were fantastic adapting to dietary needs with care and attention. Food was extra delicious, Barramundi was a highlight! Rooms needed better cooling - aircon in accommodation would have made welcome relief after morning walks.
- Phyllis (9/5): Bungle Bungle Oasis - cabins were beautiful
food was exceptional
pool was a welcome relief after a day of hiking
the staff were very kind, considerate, respectful and went above and beyond to be helpful I understand it's an ECO resort however air-conditioning would have been so good. The fans don't really give much relief although it did cool down comfortably overnight
- Judith (7/5): Value for money was missing but there are not many options in places to stay after the long drive. - Breakfast was good, a selection of hot and cold items. Considering the cost of our stay we expected a much better dinner. With no aircon, our accommodation was very hot. We arrived in temperatures in the high 30’s degree Celsius and with no air conditioning in our cabin, it was unbearably hot so the only way to attempt to cool down was in the main pool. The drop in night time temperatures made for a much more pleasant evening.
- Sheila (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hassan (5/5): Way overpriced for what you get. Average food. Cabins are t confit air without a/c - Quiet, friendly staff, very clean. So hot in the cabins you couldn’t even énerver in the daytime. A fan blowing hot air around. Therefore nowhere to rest midday after an active morning as it’s too hot in the rooms and there are no loungers at the pool.
They don’t cater to vegetarians. I was given a bowl of sauce (which was lentils mashed up)as my Veg option and told to mix it into my pasta while all other paying guests had plentiful choice of protein. My two night staying here I had rice and vegetables. Absolutely disgraceful for $800 per night.

- Tony (8/5): Comfort in remote and beautiful part of Australia! - Great location, good food. The 5:30 am start up of the generator.
- Nene (9/5): Remote adventure comfort - Food was amazing, especially given the remoteness of the location - beautifully cooked and presented, varied and plentiful.
Fabulous sunset walk shared with the staff. Quite pricey but worth it for the once in a lifetime experience of staying in the Bungle Bungles
- Annette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (10/5): Excellent stay ! Pleased to come home to our accommodation after hiking the gorges all day ! 2 nights was perfect for th - The property was great! Staff fantastic and food wonderful!
- Tamara (8/5): - Great facilities given the remote location & accessibility. Very nice meals, storage of red wine needs attention due to warm climate plus body lotion in cabins to reduce wastage (rancid from afternoon heat buildup). ‘Coffee machine issues’ need to be managed better during periods of full capacity.
- Teressa (10/5): Exceptional - Very helpful manager, loved the accommodation, clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Everything about Savannah Lodge excellent. Nothing
- John (8/5): Very good - The road in and out to the lodge was very poor other than that it was excellent to stay there.
Helicopter flight was awesome The road in and out to the lodge
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rosa (9/5): Perfect place to relax and be well fed after a day of sightseeing. - Very friendly staff welcomed us as we arrived and showed us the facilities. Room was small but comfortable. Amazing three course dinners and great selection of breakfast foods.
- Ted (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent - The lodge is designed to blend into the environment while providing a relaxed and comfortable place to stay to explore Purnululu, aka the Bungle Bungles. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, the buffet style breakfasts and dinners were delicious. Tea and coffee are available 24/7 in the dining room. We enjoyed our afternoon coffee and evening drinks on the veranda and chose to eat dinner there beside the fire pit.
Accommodation is in individual cabins, with en-suite bathrooms, a short distance from the dining and living area. Furnishings are attractive and of high quality but minimal: comfortable bed, bedside tables, blanket box, and electric fan, two coat-hangers and a double power point. The en-suite bathroom was well equipped with extra shelves around the small vanity. There is no frig, kettle, iron or air conditioning in the rooms. The “windows” are gauze, no glass, with very well fitted louvre shutters. We were very grateful for the extra blanket in the blanket box.
The lodge offers ground transport to/from the airstrip as well as tours to allow guests to explore the north and south sections of Purnululu. Road access needs a high clearance four-wheel drive vehicle to navigate the very rough road and numerous creek crossings. It takes 2-3 hours to travel the 52km from the highway to the park entrance.
There is limited OPTUS connectivity in the park but no Telstra connectivity.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (9/5): Superb -
- Kathy (9/5): Spot of luxury in middle of nowhere. - the welcome on arrival, the pool, the bar is next to the pool, the buffet was included in the price. Remarkable in such a remote location. in dry season it’s nearly a 5 hour drive from Kununurra and in the wet it’s closed.
- Natalie (6/5): Camp or do day flights into Purnululu, that's value for your money! - The unit was clean and comfortable. The staff were lovey and friendly. The Bungle Bungles, Purnululu is beautiful! Echidna Chasm is a fantastic walk! The rock formation is amazing especial when the sunsets. A beautiful part of the world to visit. I traveled with my husband and my 80 year old mother and their was a bunk bed in our room however we had to book two units for one night for three people at the cost of $1600. The Ritz would be a better option, value for money! However we were in the Purnululu National Park, Bungle Bungles so I would camp next time or fly in day trips Savannah Lodge is not worth the money! When you are paying $1600 a night you'd think the food would be something special. The weather was hot, it's an eco lodge so no aircon a fan in your room. First course hot vegetable soup followed by a buffet ( We are in covid times with guest flying in from all over Australia) vegetable curry, lamb shanks, bad mash potatoes, roasted vegetables not cooked through followed by dessert, bread and butter pudding & custard. Breakfast was average, a Nespresso would have been great as the coffee was terrible. A good coffee is a great start for the day of adventures.
- Frederick (10/5): - Excellent stay, great staff, excellent food , overall great stay
- Neil (8/5): - We really enjoyed our stay - Tegan provided great suggestions and was a great ambassador for you
- Daniel (8/5): - Staff are pleasant and food lovely. Basic accomodation but well presented. Even though the meals are included in price we thought it was over priced.
