- Frank (6/5): A little more sanitizing would have made it better. - Location was close to Fairgrounds. The bathroom smelled like urine and flies were always getting in somehow. I bought fly swatters.
- Sydney (2/5): Staff was horrible, room was filthy, parking was terrible - The bathroom was redone. Everything
- deanna (1/5): Awful - Stayed one night checked out immediately the next morning as we found bed bugs. One bug and when I reported it to the office and asked for a refund she said we brought them in that she checked the room and there we're no bugs. The sheets were stained from previous bed bug issues they were dirty there was hair on my pillow that was not mine.
- Amanda (1/5): - Nothing We came to be close to the State Fair. The room was full of bugs. Flies, roaches, and crickets were hopping, jumping, and flying around. Room smelled like smoke when we entered. We went to the front desk to complain about our room, and we were offered another room. We went in that room and it smelled better, but a roach ran across the table upon entering. All our stuff was in our first room. The front desk lady came into our room and said we were making it up when we have video evidence. She offered us a Raid can to kill them ourselves, and told us when people come to this motel they understand there will be bugs. We instantly got on the phone and moved to another one down the street.
- benny (3/5): Bad stay as stated above - No breakfast door would not lock especially from inside toilet would not feel with water no coffee or cups one morning price went up 100$ plus from booking time Location was fine Called 3 days trying to get front desk never got through after 37 phone calls no maintenance complaints from several guests very frustrating check in
- Tara (3/5): - Bed was comfortable and good location and prices are reasonable! Dead cockroaches in the fridge and found some crawling around on the table and microwave and was woke up to bites from bed bugs. Also hate how thin the walls are, when you can hear the neighbors screwing all night!
- Charity (6/5): Charged me over $15 more than what I was told when I reserved the room online and also charges a $20 room deposit per ni -
- Cole (6/5): -
- Marcos (1/5): Olor fuerte a tabaco y personal nunca está en recepción - El auto cerca de la puerta Olor fuerte a cigarro tabaco
- Maksym (1/5): Very bed - Very bed Very bed

- shuli (1/5): Never try this place - Nothing Smell like shit, dirty, broken toilet , stain on bed sheets
- Tyce (2/5): - I'm going to go ahead and do you a favor. Just avoid it altogether.
At $60 a night, I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel. However, I was also not expecting for things to be so disorganized and dangerous.
Cockroaches running around, lamp wires frayed and exposed, no toiletries, dirty linens, 50's attic smell. Etc
It was so bad that I ended up only staying in there 5 hours and slept in my clothes on top of the blankets and doused myself in disinfectant.
STAY AWAY!
- Mark E (2/5): - Didn't like 3 police cars & ambulance in the parking lot. And if someone drives or walks in at night, the parking lot lights up like a scene from a murder. Not exactly making staying there feel safe. Room appeared to being very recently updated but the TV is put where you hit it each time you use the bathroom (I'm 6'2"). Took forever to check in. Had to stay in the 'vestibule' which had NO air conditioning and after 5 minutes I had sweated thru my shirt. Was in there a good half hour before getting the key pad that wasn't programed so had to walk back down to get that fixed.
- Darla (3/5): Very disappointing. Police need to do something. - The prostitutes and drug dealing going on
- RoyPer (1/5): Not an ok place to stay anymore- - This used to be an ok place to stay- not anymore. Apparently they have changed ownership- and the new management is horrible. - H3274XOdeannam (2/5): Do not stay here! - We checked in, the room was dirty, dark hair on pillow, sheets were stained with who knows what, and we checked out the very next morning as we found a bed bug, when I took it to the office, she said WE were traveling with bugs that they didn't find any in the room. IT ONLY TAKES ONE! I manage apartments and know all about bed bugs.
- Tyesha (6/5): - It was nice because it was 5 minutes from the Statefair other than that it was just an okay stay!
- Nathan (2/5): - Horrible Service and Unsafe conditions, I canceled the day I got there, due to unsafe and dirty conditions. No one was there when I went to check in and I left and tried calling with no response or being able to leave a message on option 2.... The owner was supposed to call me and never did, and they charged my card the next day for 10 nights and said that's what I booked and can't cancel. I told them they can charge for one night, but this was still wrong, and she was not helpful and hung up on me. I am disputing the charge but if this is not taken care of, I plan 100% to litigate and will take the owner to court over this. I can only imagine they do this nonsense to others and this time choose the wrong person who will spend the money to call them out for these bad business practices and unsafe conditions. I am giving them notice and a chance to fix this, but they seem to not care.
- Gary (2/5): Do not stay hete - Booked room at $89, which we thought was odd because of State Fair, but that’s what it showed. Got there and we were charged 170!!!! Room was hot, had flys, big gap in door, a wasp in bathroom and when we pulled back blanket had 2 dead bugs in the bed!! We left and drove home. Done with this hotel and Hotels.con.
- Judy (6/5): okay room - Small room, two beds fit tight. Cleanliness was okay.
- Scout (2/5): - We reserved two nights and went out to eat the day after the first night and when we got back to the hotel there was somebody in our room that had moved in
- Gregory (6/5): - The convenience drive to the fair is good but the motel is very run down. Bathroom very small
- Cole (6/5): - It’s right next to a Burger King
- tyler (2/5): - This is not a good hotel, firstly the cost of a room is way too high for the quality. When we got in the room one of the lamps didn't work, the tv box wasnt set up, there is visible dust on most of the appliances, furniture, and vents. There was only one set of bathroom amenities for 2 people. I had asked for an extra towel before we went to the state fair. When we got back to the room there was still no towel and I asked again and it took a further 30 min to get my towel so i could take a shower.lastly probably the worst part is there were so many bugs in the room. The only good parts of this hotel is the convenience of the distance from the state fair and the staff was respectful. Would not recommend for a stay.
- Cheri (1/5): Not a good place to stay. - Air conditioner worked well. Rest of it was bad. Bugs in bathroom. Dirty wet towel in bottom of fridge. Guessing fridge didn’t work.
- ramondang35 (4/5): Nasty, Hot, and Huge Flies - I checked in at 9 pm after a long ride. First came it was hot in the room and it smelled! Turned on the AC and walked in the bathroom, saw a fly there! I haven’t seen flies in a motel room ever. I walked in the bathroom this morning now there are 3 huge flies in the bathroom! Tried to make coffee and saw that there was a used pod sitting in the slot, don’t even know when that was used 🤮! Don’t come here unless it’s your last resort!
- Loucks (1/5): - NOTHING The rooms were dirty, cobwebs, dead flies, linens had holes and stains. The carpets were stained and filthy. The rooms were hot. They did not leave the air on in them, so they smelled musty. There were cockroaches in two of the rooms we were shown. She refused to give us our money back and told us that since the room was cheap what did I expect. I told her a CLEAN room. She was rude and told me she cleaned the rooms herself. I laughed. Since she wouldn't give us our money back we stayed in a double room because she kept telling me that she can't give refunds only her boss could. BUT he would call me on Monday to talk to me about getting a refund. I said is he really going to call? I didn't believe her ,so I said screw it you're going to get my money anyway find me a damn room. I'm sitting in that room writing this sweating my butt off because the AC isn't cooling this room down at all. Look, I get I only paid 56 bucks for this dump, you get what you pay for I know. But there has to be some kind of expectation of clean even for 56 bucks. If I wanted to sleep with roaches I'd go sleep in a gutter. Just plain nasty.
- natasha (1/5): - How inexpensive it was. I requested the room early because I came from California on the train. Didn't get into my room until almost 2pm. Sitting in the heat that while time with luggage's. The room had so many bugs. Spiders, roaches and flies. Nastiest place and rudest people. Never again. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!
- Al (1/5): Bad -
- Priscilla (2/5): - When I went to check in there was no room reservation for us. I had a copy of our itinerary number for our room. They had nothing in their system. They had no open rooms. Called Orbitz customer service was on the line for more than an hour trying to figure out issue at American Inn and trying to find another room in Sedalia which was not possible due to an event scheduled there for the weekend. We had to travel to another town which was an hour away and book our own room. No compensation was offered for our inconvenience, phone data, time or more than anything stress and frustration..
- Watha (1/5): Absolutely the worst experience! - Nothing I had to wait nearly four hours after checkin before they managed to break into the room and attempt to fix the door. The toilet won't flush correctly, room was full of flies and room was very dirty. The Tv didn't work. conditions were so bad we left early.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Frustration. - They could not find my reservation .we moved on to springfield. No rooms available at hotel
- Owen (1/5): Bad - Nothing Dirty flies
- Raphael (7/5): Good -
- Marsha (7/5): Good - Good location Had no toilet paper
- Sam (2/5): - The towels were ßtained the bed look like someone had already slept in it the pillows were stained and real old. If I was dieing and this was the only place to stay I would rather sleep in the street. I would not recommend this place to anyone. You know the saying you get what u pay for.
- Lesliee (6/5): - I had room 106. The first bed whatever they use to hold it up was broken. All night the bed kept moving around i almost fell out. There were no towel holders. Both beds top sheet possibly comforter had several burnt cigarettes holes as we were told people are to smoke outside. If you can't handle smoking smells like we could not do not go here. They can smoke outside right next to your door. We had 2 nights here and I will not pick this place next time.
- Teagan (1/5): Was absolutely disgusting, did not even want to stay there upon arrival. Couldn’t get a refund and e - Was absolutely disgusting, did not even want to stay there upon arrival. Couldn’t get a refund and ended up leaving with none because I’d rather sleep in my car than their hotel. The door to our room didn’t even shut properly, and there was dried stains on the walls along with countless stains on each piece of bedding. Pillows, sheets, the blankets, it was all not clean. - Anthony (4/5): - There was a big big spider in the room on the wall in the closet area and a roach crawling on the table. Then they said they had a king bed on the app n didn’t so they gave us a double bed room
- Lois (5/5): Pretty average….good price - It was close to food places and the supermarket. The bathroom looked like it had been renovated. It was cheap. People hanging around smoking outside rooms. Person in next room coughing all night. Lots of noise when people were leaving early. Had to move fridge to plug in microwave….really dirty behind it. Hard to plug in anything!
- James (4/5): - The lady that runs and cleans, is rude. Believe there were bed bugs. It was a little loud with people up all night in the parking lot. The toilet wouldn't flush because the tank wouldn't fill.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ronald (4/5): No breakfast - No breakfast No breakfast
- Tami (9/5): It was great - It was nice and clean . Suited our needs perfectly I liked the vintage vibe 😊
- Santiago (1/5): Bed bugs bites - The location was great I woke up with bed bugs bites all over my hands
- Merl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Skylee V (10/5): Worth it - Comfortable relaxing
- Mason (2/5): Very poor -
- jenniffer (10/5): - Everything
- Starman (8/5): Very good -
- Nathan (2/5): - I chose this because it was the cheapest option. I did not expect much, but the room looked like there'd been no updates on the room (aside from DIY repairs) since the 70s. It looked very dirty in the bathroom (where there is no counter) with mold on the walls (likely because there was no bathroom fan. Also, paprr thin walls and venting lets you hear EVERYTHING nearby. If it was a little more private and clean, this place would be awesome.
- Sam (1/5): Don't stay they will rob you - Nothing They scammed me
- Mary (1/5): The refrigerator did not work, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, the door wouldn’t stay shut, an - It was terrible Everything!
- Ashley (6/5): - It matches the price. You get what you pay for.
- Chris (6/5): - The property is an old style motel, with rooms arranged around a parking area in the shape of a C. The rooms are heated by a wall mounted heating and air conditioning unit. My room was cold when I arrived (early February) as if the heat had not been maintained recently, and it took all evening and all night for the room to warm up, with the setting on 78 degrees. Although the room had ducts in the floor for HVAC, it was apparently not functional. Better to stay here in the spring and fall.
- Kelch (10/5): Best stay ever - Everything Tere was no dislikes
- Ron (2/5): Lousy motel - Room had no heat, management did nothing. Had to leave and get a room elsewhere
- Tara (9/5): Superb -
- Janet (5/5): Passable - Couldn't get the door to open had to get another guest help me get it open.
- Mathew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wilkinson (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mike (2/5): - The room we were assigned was dirty, the floor was covered with leaves and the toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks it was full of nasty looking water. Will not stay here again!
- Kristen (1/5): Bad -
- Wayne (2/5): Never again - Worst hotel I ever stayed in. On checkin I told lady I had an online order. Was treated like I had came in for a room. Charged $20 more than what I agreed to. The heat sucked and was off when I arrived even though the temperature was 24 degrees. Sheets had cigarette burns in them. Couldn't lock bathroom door and it wouldn't stay shut so if I was going to the bathroom and you were outside you could see everything.
- Isaiah (2/5): - Worst hotel in Sedalia fr
- Merle (10/5): Exceptional - Front desk is Always pleasant. Been staying here for years . Never had any issues!! NA
- Olson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debby (6/5): - Sink and toilet were very low to the floor.
- Kristen (3/5): Poor -
- Rafael (10/5): Exceptional - The quickness of checking in. Still waiting on $40 deposit to come back for room key.
- Mayfield (5/5): Passable - Price was good, bed good, shower good. The only thing I didnt like was the heater. It was cold in the room but really warm near the heater. Then when you try to adjust it you need to turn on light and get your cheaters to read it. It's old and outdated but you get what u pay for
- Glen (6/5): Got my money's worth. - Cleaner than most older motels. Small but was more than adequate for an overnight stay on a hunting trip. Heat/air unit was quiet and there was a good sized TV to watch. Plenty of restaurants nearby.
- Jennifer (10/5): Wonserful - Everything I liked everything
- Catherine (6/5): - .
- John (6/5): My stay at American Inn - My room and bed were smaller than I expected. I thought the bed would be a Queen instead of a Full. The office staff were strange as they didn't seem used to American customs yet. The office was closed without notice as to when the person would return. There was also some loud music coming from another room after 10:00 pm. I didn't call to complain, but I thought this would be more appropriate place to address this situation.
- Carlene (1/5): Disgusting - Nothing to like. I almost left and drove home at midnight. This motel is disgusting. Roaches everywhere, dirty linens and towels. Dirty washcloths and towels on the shelf folded. The room stunk like cigarette smoke and the fridge had a dirty towel in it. The TV didn't want to turn on and when I touched the machine roaches ran out everywhere. The light by the bed didn't work and the hair dryer in the bathroom didn't work. Very disappointed. I was also charged $17 to add my 4 year old grandson. I would never recommend this motel!
- Rob (7/5): Good stay for cost, great location - Easy check-in, room was small, but ok. Bathroom had jet tub that did not work, might want to do some upgrades.
- Michael (5/5): Passable -
- Matt (4/5): Not worth the price - I got there a little early than check in time, she told me she was waiting on my sheets to get done so she could make the bed, not a problem she checked me in and I went to go get something to eat, bed was made room clean but dated not a problem with me, going to bed I pulled the comforter and sheets back, the comforter had stains and so did the sheets, went to work next day came back room clean but only 1 cup left for coffee for Wednesday, not a problem thought they would put more in when they cleaned again, much to my surprise came back from work room was not even touched, the rest of the week didn’t clean or empty trash and not even the sheets or anymore towels or coffee until Friday, emptied trash gave towels no coffee and didn’t even change the sheets, I’m glad I booked on line I would no pay the 50 dollar charge if you just walk in, even booking on line was still a little to much for there. Good location for restaurants though
- Julia (8/5): - None
- Christopher (7/5): Good -
- Robyne (7/5): Convenient Inexpensive stay. - It was a great location and very clean. The mattress was definitely old and not very comfortable. The linens also should be replaced.
- Hundley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aracely (9/5): Superb -
- Dean (3/5): Poor -
- Wynkoop (7/5): Good -
- Hembree (10/5): Worth it for the price - Exactly what I'd want for the price
