- Angela (9/5): - Friendly staff, excellent location to the water, very cozy room. As with any older cabin style, the floors were squeaky in some high traffic areas and the room was not soundproof.
- daniel (10/5): -
- Josh (9/5): Good - Very clean nice place to stay Had to pay extra to use the sofa bed, already paying for a room with the sofa bed shouldn't cosy extra to use it.

- Leonie (6/5): - Older building , nostalgic, cottagy Did not like the fact that even having received confirmation of booking , I later got a call stating overbooked room , they offered another room but at a higher price .We took it anyway being late in the day to start looking elsewhere plus I was travelling to the destination at the time of the call. Was this a scam to get more money out of me ? Left a bad taste
- Joanne (10/5): - Clean, the owners are great, location is good. It’s comfortable . We enjoy our stays at Sunset Inn There is nothing that we don’t like

Friendly staff There is nothing I did not like
- Veronica (9/5): Perfect - Outstanding customer service. Nothing
- Gisèle (8/5): - The beds were very comfortable, always super important for me. Having a fridge and a microwave during our road trip we're a definite plus. The bathroom was obviously newly renovated. Very clean. There were no USB ports and very few plugs. There is very little place to leave your toiletries in the bathroom.
- Tim (10/5): -
- Mei Ling (8/5): - No breakfast provided
- Paul (8/5): - The owner remembers all guests names. Friendly and very clean. I am looking forward to my next stay.
- Iris (9/5): -
- Cindy (8/5): - Beautiful spot on the lake. Great restaurant within walking distance.
- Hilary (8/5): It was our second visit and we would definitely come back. - The Inn is very clean and well maintained and the location is fantastic. Just steps away from the private beach. I liked that we could open the windows for fresth air. Good value for money. Not a great choice of coffee e.g. no tea, and was not replenished for our second morning. A duvet would be a nice touch instead of the heavy comforter.
- Peter (9/5): Surprised at how friendly the owner and staff were, and the good condition of everything - Older but very well maintained. Fronts onto the lake with its own beach and jetty. Cabins and rooms. Indian restaurant with great dosas is part of the establishment Road noise
- Nikta (8/5): - Friendly staff and clean rooms.
Nothing fancy but comfortable and quiet enough for a one night sleep.
- Jason (9/5): - The rooms are nice and big. Staff is very friendly and the view of the lake is amazing. Bed and pillows were very firm.
- Ishak (10/5): - A Journey North
Since July 2025, I have been faithfully pouring my mind onto pages. Over three months of steady practice, I began to notice a pattern: my mind reveals itself in cycles, rising and falling with the rhythms of the day.
One of those quiet cycles planted a seed. After our Muskoka cottage trip earlier this year, a thought stayed with me: the next overnight stay must be by a lake, where Theo can play in the water and I can sit with presence. I didn’t chase it. I let it rest in the background, unforced.
Then, one evening, scrolling through Expedia, the image of the Sunset Inn in North Bay caught me off guard. A private beach, a fireplace in the room —it seemed almost designed for the vision I carried. For some reason, I simply trusted: this will work out.
On Saturday, September 27, the day unfolded in alignment with that trust. We left Cambridge around 11 a.m., driving north into corridors of fall color. By the time we arrived at the Sunset Inn, presence was already thick in the air. At the reception, a female welcomed warmly while helping two senior citizens who also reserved six rooms for July 2026. Her calm presence reassured me that the reviews I had read were true.
Theo’s joy sealed the moment. He rushed straight to the private beach, the water level perfect for his fearless play. Watching him splash and laugh, I felt the fulfillment of the entire journey.
- LAI HAR (8/5): - The room is clean and the bathroom is more space. I like the air-condition that is easier to use
- Mayrienne (10/5): - Very nice room, private beach is very nice and staff are great.
- Lisa (10/5): - The hotel was right on the water where we had access to a private beach and dock. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We ate at the Indian restaurant next door and it was fabulous.
- Margrit (10/5): Well kept Inn instead of concrete - Location on the lake Everything was nice and clean
- Brenda (10/5): -
- Trevor (10/5): -
- Dane (10/5): - The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly upon check-in, and provided restaurant suggestions. While the hotel is in a quiet area a bit outside downtown, everything in downtown North Bay is a short drive away. The room was nice and clean. The private beach was a nice bonus. And the price was very reasonable. No complaints.
- Peggy (10/5): Very nice..will stay here agsib. - Very clean and quiet at night Couch was not very comfortable
- tony (10/5): -
- Sean (10/5): - Beautiful private beach, friendly staff and free dvds to watch in the room.
- Donna (10/5): Short but will definitely by back! - Nice location clean comfortable room. All was good
- Chabot (10/5): -
- Barbara (10/5): - Beautiful property with nice sand beach and dock. Rooms very modern and clean. Everything you need from hot plate to iron to fridge. Management very friendly and keep the property very well maintained.
- Myriam (9/5): - Private location on the lake, well maintained rooms, useful kitchenette; privacy curtains option need to be added to the blackout curtains; blanket option need to be added to bed spread
- Lise (10/5): - Very friendly
- Mark (8/5): A Peaceful, independent motel in a nice lakeside setting. - Was kept clean and relatively up to date. Rooms quite large. Very nice local with its own little beach. Price is competitive to the chain motels but more intimate. No breakfast facilities. A credit towards a local breakfast restaurant would have made this an easier choice against the chain hotels.
- Reggie (10/5): - Fantastic location
- Lise (10/5): - The lakeside view is gorgeous!
- Lynn (10/5): Clean and comfy, we will be back! - Location The people upstairs were loud, you could hear them walking around.
- Kellykim (10/5): - Clean comfortable and amazing place to stay.
- petra (10/5): - Beautiful and comfy beds and super close to the beach with amazing sunset highly recommend..
- Lynne (9/5): I've been visiting the Inn every summer for years - always great. - Roomy, very easy to get to, lots of convenient services nearby, lovely view on the lake A bit of street noise- nothing a pair of earplugs don't solve.
- Filip (10/5): Beautiful place to enjoy the parks in North Bay. Thank you -
- Mark (10/5): -
- Laurie (9/5): - Rooms were clean and up to date in furnishings. Beds and linens very comfortable.
- Melody (8/5): - Clean and friendly
- Nathalie (7/5): Nous sommes restés une nuit pour se reposer d’un long voyage. - Propreté largeur de la pièce La plage
- Brenda (8/5): - Classic retro feel, lovely being on the water.
- Dennica (10/5): -
- Alexandre (10/5): -
- Jean (10/5): -

- Joanna (10/5): - Wonderful experience!
- Kaddi2016 (9/5): Very nice and cozy place to stay - There is nothing to dislike The pillows are not as plush and comfortable that I have had in most places.
And our room was towards the main road and the traffic noise was too much some times
- MaryAnn (10/5): - We extended our tayasweenjoyedit so much. Verycofortable bed. Close to alot of businesses. Nice beach
- Veronica (10/5): Exceptional - The owners can’t do enough for you.
Location and beach beautiful. Nothing
- Cory (10/5): - Rooms are spacious and clean. Pretty much close to everything. My family would definitely stay again.
- Dorothy (10/5): - Lovely lake setting.
- Melody (8/5): - It had a beach and a dock. Great for a short stay. Rooms had a hotplate and sink
- Carly (10/5): Mid Week Getaway! - Owners were very nice and welcoming! Room was cleaned in a timely manner. The private beach is in great condition. The dock is very sturdy and the entire area has 3 pairs of chairs- so plenty of spots. We stayed in a room with 2 queens- which was on the top floor facing the street- but there are other more private lodges of sorts, closer to the water. Beds were comfy, TV worked, bathroom was nice. Room was carpeted but bathroom had laminate/vinyl. At the end of the beds, there were wooden benches to sit and put shoes on. Great little spot, felt very cozy to stay in for our mid week getaway!
- Barkley (8/5): Very nice I would book a vacation there again -
- Janice (10/5): - Great
Sea doo drive up works for us
- Robinson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mélina (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (10/5): - It feels like a flippin ski chalet. Great Indian restaurant right next door. Close to the Churchills steak house. Older looking building but kept very well. Our room #202 was a king bed and very spacious.
