Guest Reviews
- Connie (8/5): - We did not eat or drink in the restaurant/bar. Although this was an old hotel, the owners made every effort to keep most of it original. When renting two queen beds they were actually two room that joined with a door. The sinks and toilets were updated and much better than the Super 8s. The lobby was beautiful and the keyless, no staff entry was excellent. Would stay here again,
- Jon (10/5): - We just did a one night flyover and it was clean and comfortable. Very nice and communicative staff, and dog friendly with was a must for us. Stairs are squeaky but adds to the charm of this 1913 hotel. Enjoyed it.
- Paul (6/5): - Check the room and found it to suit my needs. But my big concern was that the building was not sprinklered for fire that I saw and that made find another place to stay. Multi story old building without sprinklers made me think twice about staying.
- Tina (10/5): - This is the second time I’ve stayed at this hotel and each time it’s clean, comfortable and safe
- Lisa (10/5): - It was a great stay! Lots of character in this old, historic building!
- Nicole (10/5): - Great price. Rooms were large and comfortable.
- Edward (6/5): - The place is pretty dated, but charming. The room was very small for the price but it was clean. The hotel is in a good location and downtown is within walking distance.
- Janna (10/5): - Historic building in downtown Douglas, a cute, sleepy little town. Nice bar on the 1st floor, and a good Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel. We slept well.
- Bryon (10/5): - Our stay was great! Everyone was friendly and helpful. We plan on staying at the LaBonte again.
- Traci (10/5): - Great place to stay for the night! Historic building and updated to be comfortable. Very friendly staff and well kept. Charming!!
- Tori (10/5): - Great property and amazing people!
- Lucas (10/5): A hidden jewel - The front desk is not staffed but they send you a text to get into your room. The bar staff was happy to help with any issues. It is such a cool place and it would be perfect for a girls trip...just to get away and relax.
- Nancy (10/5): - Location is perfect for strolling downtown and enjoying the locals. Really enjoyed staying here for our History Trek.
- Samuel (8/5): Clean and comfortable - Clean and comfortable. Door to my room had a 1/2 inch gap between frame that let light from hallway shine through.
- Natasha (10/5): - Nice hotel with great amenities
- Reginald (10/5): - Great place to stay.
- John (8/5): Nice little hotel - Bed was a little worn and had a soft spot but all in all the stay was great. Quiet and comfortable.
- Carla (10/5): - We love the staff and customer service.
- Nicolette (10/5): Snowbird going to Arizona. - Comfortable bed. Bar and restaurant attached so convenient. Overnight stay. A little dated but it was comfortable and convenient. Bailey the girl in the bar was very nice. I would stay again.
- Jackie (10/5): -
A Perfect Blend of History and Comfort
LaBonte is a beautifully preserved historic gem. The blend of classic charm with updated amenities made for a comfortable and memorable stay. Perfectly located for convenance. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a relaxing experience and everything needed within the building.
- James (8/5): - Nice old hotel. Nothing fancy, but comfortable and inviting. I picked this place because it was unique and had a bar with pool table and game room in the lobby.
- Michael (8/5): - Historic!
- robertfY127BF (10/5): Historic gem in Douglas - Wonderful historic hotel! Stayed at the Labonte in Douglas for a weekend and had a great stay. Very casual management but made us feel like we were at a B&B. Very pet friendly (even the manager had their dog in the office.) Food at the restaurant next door was great.
- Rick (8/5): - A unique, old hotel. Staff we encountered were friendly & helpful. Housekeepers were great. Restaurant adjacent to hotel was great! We would stay here again.
- Kim (8/5): - Self check in no staff which worked well. Restaurant and bar on site
- diane (10/5): - Loved the historic hotel. It’s like stepping back in time. Great locals bar and restaurant
- Jennifer (8/5): - its an older structure, but has been redone reasonably well. It is VERY well managed and run and with a bar and a restaurant on site, is very convenient
- David A. (8/5): - Nice quiet place after a long drive with a comfortable bed
- Greg (2/5): BEWARE! Manager manager will take your money! - Went to check in at 9 PM and the room was not ready. Waited 45 minutes for them to get the room ready and when I get to the room, it only had one bed when I booked two beds so I had to sleep on the pullout couch after doing construction it killed my back. I talked to the manager and she basically said if you don’t like it go somewhere else. So rude. Room was dirty,
- James (8/5): - Essy parking. Oldtimey feel.
- Dee (10/5): - We were a little taken aback when we arrived at this motel. We were sent our room number as well as a code to unlock the door.
The motel is quite interesting and a little eclectic as it includes a wonderful Mexican restaurant as well as 2 lounges and a grill.
Our room was on the second floor (yes they had an elevator) so we got the door unlocked (quite easy) and entered the room.
We were pleasantly surprised as the space had been recently renovated; very clean with all necessary items needed for our stay.
We were surprised, but….we would stay here again in heartbeat!
- Carol (8/5): - Room was clean, but small for 2 people. Husband kept hitting his leg on corner of bed. Could have used a small bedside table on BOTH sides of bed to set glasses, etc. and have a small reading light. I thought, for its size, it was overpriced. But, I appreciated it being clean, that there was a Keurig machine in the hallway for coffee, and that there was an elevator .
- Leslie (10/5): - Historic building, comfortable rooms, guest laundry on 2nd floor, easy access to highway 25 and Wyoming State Fair site for rodeo
- Matthew Tye (10/5): - Beautiful little boutique hotel!
- Dawn (6/5): - This hotel is not always staffed. We were texted a room number and door code, day of arrival. TV in room did not work. Note in room said to ask bartender or text a help number. Was told maintenance didn’t work weekends. Had to demand a new room with working TV, all over texts. Bar in hotel wasn’t bad but had to fight locals for service and does not serve food.
- michael (8/5): - Quiet
- Stephen (8/5): Older hotel with some character - An interesting hotel in a small town. This is an older property with limited amenities, but has character. Fine for a couple of nights stay.
- Leslie (10/5): - Very nice authentic hotel
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Staff was super friendly and helpful
- Robert (10/5): Great place, don't miss it. - Great place! Historic hotel, from 1914. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have dogs in the lobby and bar, a wonderful time was had. Spent a week, several get togethers in the bar. Top notch, will definitely be back.
- Sandra (8/5): - Was an old fun property.
- Tom (10/5): - I liked everything about the area.
- Ashley (10/5): - Loved our stay!
- Denise (10/5): Charming Hotel - Old quirky hotel with lots of character. Loved it and all its charm.
- sat (10/5): - Very cool spot for a late night check in. Bed was super comfy. Small room but all i needed and its got character.
- Laramie (10/5): Charming Hotel Labonte - Hotel Labonte is fabulous. Rooms are nothing fancy but a functional room to sleep for the night. Charming vintage decor and staff was very polite. Better yet Ramos Cafe is attached on one side with a full menu. Food is great and prices are extemely reasonable. To the other side is a full bar with pool table and darts. One of the coolest places we've stayed. THE place to stay if you're ever in Douglas.
- Korina (8/5): - We enjoyed our night here. Check in and out was the easiest thing ever. Walked to several places. The bed wasn’t super comfy but we stayed more for the experience there in Douglas and were only there one night passing through.
- Wilhelmina (10/5): - The staff was very nice and helpful. Location was good. Only one train went through while we were here, and that had our grandson happy.
- Marilyn (6/5): Stay was ok but would not stay again. - I appreciate that an old hotel was still in use. The bed was not comfortable, room was very tiny, and bathroom had a broken doorknob. It was expensive for the type of room.
- Ken (10/5): - Great staff in a classic hotel. Took good care of two bikers and made our stay very comfortable.
- Darrell (10/5): - Enjoyable old city hotel.
- Dustin (10/5): - A bit spendy for the age of the place. But beautiful
- Stephen (10/5): - Quaint hotel with a long and interesting history. Very helpful and friendly check in. Clean, super cozy suite with nice kitchenette. Very pleased and reasonably priced
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice quiet and clean! - Great place. Simple. Very clean. Only downside, no outlets in the bathroom and new pillows would be a plus.
- Robbie (8/5): - Rustic but very clean and quaint
- Lola (10/5): Nice old hotel. - Nice old hotel.
- Stephen (6/5): - Clean room. Comfortable bed. Keurig in room and fridge. Historic building. Toiletries in bathroom changed daily.
- Brandon (8/5): Not to bad - Neat little hotel but the bathroom is pretty tight quarters and I never saw a single staff member the week I was there but they did come and clean the room every other day overall it was a good stay I would stay there again if I was working in the area again
- Richard (8/5): Hotel LaBonte Douglas WY - The hotel was built in 1914 and has wonderful original wood workings with a fantastic lobby. The staff is extremely friendly, bed very comfortable and the overall room accommodations were good.
As I noted, it was built in 1914 so the floors creak. I find that charming but it is not for everyone.
- Bryce (10/5): - loved staying here, the owner was very welcoming and our room was very clean smelling and looking.
- Roger (10/5): - Provided a good nights sleep.
- William (8/5): - While everything worked, the room is in need of some updates, such as bath fixtures and electrical outlets (too worn to hold electrical cords securely.
- Aaron (8/5): - Nice hotel. All the major chains in town were sold out, so stayed at this independent, as the reviews were decent. The hotel sends you the code to your door beforehand. I never seen any staff haha. Room was small, as expected for a historic hotel, but clean enough. No creamers were left for the in room coffee, things happen. Down the block there is a restaurant called the Depot. They have the best tenderloin I've ever had. Over all it was a nice stay.
- Susan (6/5): - This was my second stay at the Le Bonte. In the intervening two years they have improved the guest room amenities greatly. I really liked their keyless room locks, just enter the code on the keypad, no card to swipe. There was no staff visible during my stay (though I didn't go into the hotel bar), a text gave me my room key code which was more convenient than my last stay.
- Lance (10/5): - I really liked the fact that I didn’t need to check in at the desk to get a room key.
- Diana (8/5): - This is a historic building, so age was expected. our room was neat and tidy, although we had to adjust the bed placement since there was two of us. I ended up using the chair for a side table for my book and phone (flashlight) to read by. I would suggest adding a small item for putting luggage on. However, the open wardrobe was convenient for placing clothes. The main reason for a 4 is the lack of usable outlets. The only real usable one is next to the sink. The one on the east wall did not hold the plug, made a spark and took out a charger. These days, people need to charge phones, watches, and toothbrushes. Its crazy, but it is what it is. Yes, I would stay here again. The check-in was really easy and convenient with the text and code to the door. The manager was super friendly and welcoming.
- Steven (8/5): - The historic appearance was appealing
- Eric (8/5): Wow! - Amazingly renovated and very cool!! I love the check in with the text telling you the room code. Fast and easy!!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel LaBonte - I often try “historic hotels” with great pleasure. This hotel has seen better days. I was OK for a night, but no longer. The noise from the bar lasted until 12:45 am. I would not recommend this hotel nor this sonewhat depressed town for a stay.
- Edward (10/5): - Q
- Richard (10/5): - Charming old downtown building, clean and intact, nice bar inside, restaurant across the street.
- Michael (10/5): - Always great, like a ghost hotel no staff vut great atmosphere
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean - Great place to stay, very clean, friendly, and hospitable.
- Walter (10/5): - Just a really cool old hotel. Really cool.
- Casey (8/5): - Old historic building well maintained. Felt safe people were friendly
- Jean (4/5): - The elevator was broken. We were told it was just fixed after weeks of not working.
- Wanda (6/5): - The only downside was our initial entry password to our room which didn't work. We were told another would be sent immediately which didn't happen, resulting in our staying in and ordering pizza, instead of going out to eat as we planned. We couldn't leave our room... unlockable!
We had to contact them again to get the new passcode.
- John (10/5): - Loved
- Ann (10/5): - Lovely old property
- Jack (10/5): - Beautiful old hotel with nice updates. Owner was fantastic about payment since my card failed to go through online but he held our reservation anyway. Laundry smelled great!
- Malcolm (6/5): - There were no hotel staff at all on the premises. No breakfast provided. No hairdryer in the room. No coffee in the lobby. No food available despite the website talking about a restaurant. A very strange and rather surreal experience.
- Emily (8/5): - Room was comfortable tho basic. A second chair oils have been helpful. Room and bathroom clean. Bed was comfortable. Weird to walk on and nobody greeted you. Good instructions via text message.
- Richard (10/5): - Perfect stop on the way
- Mark (10/5): - Hotel LaBonte was fabulous! The hotel has been restored with good attention to its history and age- it's like 75 years new! Everything was very clean. Check-in was a breeze- got a text with my room number and door code. February in Douglas is slow, so I never saw another person (guest or otherwise), but it was very warm and homey; office windows (old school) were open with a number to call if I needed anything. It was like stepping back into Mayberry, or being at Mom's house while she was on vacation! Very enjoyable stay!
- Tracy (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable hotel with character.
- Esther (10/5): - I love staying here. Bill is always ready to make sure my stay is perfect. The rooms are spotless. The bed heavenly. Love having a bar right in the hotel. Many restaurants close by.
- Lawrence (6/5): - Part of building being remodeled. Old hotel with some improvements to room. Functional but not exceptional furnishings. No one at desk in evening or in morning. Checked in by text message which was handy but different.
- Andy (10/5): - Room was very clean! Fun local place with friendly people and we love the historical feel. We stay here every time we are passing through Douglas.
- Allen (8/5): - There wasn't any eateries nearby which were open Sunday evening. Had to drive to west side of town by interstate to find options.
- Michelle (8/5): - It’s quiet and beautiful love the old turned into new beautiful place!
- Guy (10/5): - Had a bar and nice local people
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The lobby was nice, its an older hotel with character. Its currently under construction. We awoke to the sounds of tools being used. We did see a few spiders in the bathroom. Easy keyless coded entry.
- Valerie (10/5): - Quaint vintage hotel. Comfy beds and great towels. Friendly staff.
- Matthew (10/5): - Great people
- Jonathan (10/5): Great location and comfortable room - This was a great hotel right in the middle of downtown Douglas. There are nice shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and a great shower. The TV was small, but I hardly watched TV anyway so it didn't bother me. The AC unit kept the room nice and cool, and it stays on until you shut it off which I appreciate.
- Mariah (6/5): - There was no staff to be seen, we had a broken Tv but couldn’t find staff to assist us.
- Jan (4/5): - The good news is it was available when the highway closed. The bad news is that it's over 100 years old. Things weren't as bad as I expected given the age of the place. Loved the art! That was better than I expected.
- Aaron (10/5): - Very clean and super friendly staff!
- Kari (10/5): - This was a little piece of heaven in Douglass. Bill the manager was top notch!! Friendly and went above and beyond during our stay. Cute place, great on site bar and sooo clean. Would highly recommend 🙂
- Esther (10/5): - Amazing friendly folks. Can’t wait to stay here again. Rooms were so clean. Bed comfortable.
