Superb location near private residences and wooded bike trails. Recommend.
• Roger (2/5): - Our room was horrible-nothing like the illustration for the booking showed. Down an unlighted stairway to a long, dim and narrow basement hallway. Window: looked onto a brick wall. Microwave and coffee maker: nope (no way to get coffee until a tiny breakfast counter -sparse and cold- opened at 7:30). Bathroom from the 1940s so small it was impossible to turn around. The staff was helpful, but it didn't overcome our disappointment. Worst hotel experience in many years of travel.

• Joyce (10/5): - This was our second visit to this European-style small hotel, an easy walk from all the attractions of central Aspen. The rooms are small, but quiet and comfortable. Easy parking in front of the hotel was a plus! (Note: there is no elevator to the rooms.)

For those who love boutique-style accommodations, this is the ideal pick. Owned and managed by true, long-time Aspen LOCALS, you get the real deal in this hip, super-clean, contemporary abode with mountain flair. The beds and linens are very comfortable, and you'll enjoy all the much-desired comforts: name-brand toiletries, a hairdryer, and robes. I left my patio door open to enjoy the clean, brisk mountain air. It’s a GOOD morning at HD—no need to go further than the lobby for complimentary COFFEE and thoughtfully selected light BREAKFAST options. Another bonus: you won’t have to trek through a large property to find your room at this quaint spot. You're often greeted by the cheerful, rugged adventurist manning the front desk, who has plenty of insider info on everything Aspen—past and present. As someone who was raised in Aspen, I ventured back to town to see all that has changed. Staying at HD was a heartwarming💝 re-entry as reminiscing with fellow longtime locals reminded me that you can still find that SMALL-TOWN CHARM in Aspen. Many thanks to my new FRIENDS at HD for making me feel AT HOME.

My only complaint....the room was extremely small, i think it was less than 100 sq. ft, including the bathroom. We did not even have space for our suitcases/ski gear. They did provide storage for our skis but we were stepping all over our bags. I do think we had an especially small room compared to others. We did not use our car once, walked to dinner, shows and skiing.

Please don't tell anyone - its a top Aspen spot for the price - Exceeded our expectations!

No elevator so be ready to schlep to your room. Short walk to the main gondola at Aspen. Room was large, bed comfortable and shower had great pressure and hot water. Perfect for skiing!

We did enjoy the hot tub. This is Aspen and everything is expensive so no need to expect a lot for a reasonable amount of money.
• Susan (8/5): Decieving Photo of Actual Room - The photo provided about the room was deceiving. The room we had was very small and had no balcony. Beware of the photos that Hotels.com provides. That is not the room you're going to get - expect it to be much less than the photo. Besides the very disappointing room and the fact that our TV didn't work, the rest of the stay was fine. The hotel is in a very good location, easy walking to the middle of town. The room was clean and the staff was helpful.

• Dallaswinegirl (8/5): 2 Days and 1 Night in Aspen - We were making a quick trip to Aspen to check out Independence Pass, Aspen and Maroon Bells. I scoured the various websites for a one-night reasonable stay in Aspen. We landed on the Hotel Durant and were pleasantly surprised. This hotel is in a great walkable location, has a lovely main lobby and friendly front desk clerks. The room is very small but comfortable. The bathroom was THE smallest bath we have every encountered. Literally get in, close door, turn around, sit down...it is crazy small. The beds were comfy and the linens crisp and clean. Caution that there is NO elevator, and our room was on the 3rd floor. The continental breakfast was convenient and had all the necessities like bagels, pastries, yogurt, cereal, fruit, juices and coffee/tea. We grabbed a few pieces of fruit for the trip to Maroon Bells. Aspen is incredibly expensive so this hotel was a welcome find. We would return.

The owner and staff were exceptionally nice, friendly, and went out of their way to give some history and directions.

When we went to check in, it was a basement dungeon with no proper windows. A small opening for a little light to come in, but otherwise a complete shoebox. Be very careful with the false advertising and horrible management

The staff are friendly and the hotel offers free breakfast in the morning. Parking is a bit tight in the front of the hotel but they provides a pass for parking on the street.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Uncomfortable stay - I’ve stayed at this hotel on several occasions, with this being my least favorite stay. The hotel is lovely and in a great location. I had a balcony room this trip, and did not appreciate the noise level from the main hotel patio below or the noise from people entering and leaving the hotel. It was quite noisy which made it difficult to sleep. Also, the room was very uncomfortable because the bed is tucked into a nook in the wall. So getting in and out of bed felt like a major task. Not a great experience, and disappointing because I usually like to stay at this hotel.

• Verified traveler (4/5): never coming back…. - Horrible experience. Spent over $800 for 2 nights. I made a mistake in my booking and asked if it was possible to change the check in to a day earlier and they said it was fully booked. Fine. I went ahead and booked another hotel for $300. Got there and was told it wasn’t fully booked….. seems like they could have just changed my booking date but no sure why… I only stayed a night and was placed on the first floor (basically the basement) and it was so loud, you can hear people upstairs talking, walking and banging around. Awful. I tried calling the front desk but because they are only there till 9pm (assuming since I got a voice message saying will get back to you tomorrow), no one was able to help with the noise. I had a window that was at the same level as the path outside, meaning I had the windows shut the entire time because people can literally see in giving you no privacy. For something to cost that much, I’m shocked at how horrible it was. I’m an easy traveler and am in no way high maintenance but this was just outrageous. I understand that it was my mistake in booking my travels a day later from the actual date but for them to not be in any way understanding and then to have a horrible night stay….. wow.
• Leopold (10/5): Walk to Lift 1 - Great hotel walking distance to lift 1
• glenn (8/5): - So need to change the shampoo conditioner and body lotion. Too small and too hard to get product out of the small containers. The shampoo bottle is so small that it is almost impossible to get the product out.
• Anthony (10/5): - Excellent Hotel, included a healthy breakfast, hot tub, close to bus stop and lifts.
• Gregory (10/5): - Conveniently located and a lovely morning breakfast.
• Nicole (6/5): - Old and need to renovate… The frontdesk guy was good but the white lady is not that nice. If you’re staying at the ground floor you’ll hear widely the people walking around the lobby.
