Guest Reviews
- weiyuanca (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable. It is a high quality, well maintained and well supplied property, with beautiful and tranquil surrounding. The property is just off Highway 9, very easy to access, a much better choice of stay after you have visited the Kenai Peninsula before heading to the Anchorage airport.
- Sharon (10/5): - Our stay was perfect! The setting was lovely against the mountains. There was a walking path decorated with delightful sculptures around the property. Our room was large and tastefully decorated. The owners were very personable. Breakfast was on time and tasty. I would definitely recommend this place.
- Kim (10/5): The best accommodations we had in AK! Highly recommend! Wonderful hosts! - Beautiful property! Stunning lodge and grounds!
- James (10/5): It was a restful 2 night stay with wonderful helpful hosts in a beautiful place. - Setting by a lake near Tern Lake with Mountain Views surrounding property. Location midway between Seward and Sterling. Trails, lovely flowers, tennis/racquet ball court, cabins plus lodge, excellent breakfast for us lodge folks. Nothing
- Mary (10/5): - Beautiful property, gracious hosts, gourmet breakfasts, stunning views! Perfect
- Eric (10/5): - The Inn at Tern Lake is Amazing! It’s beautiful beyond words. From the views from our deck, the walking paths and FANTASTIC breakfast our stay could not have been any more perfect. Thank you Teal, Rose and Jeff!

- R4935LRpauls (10/5): Inn at Tern Lake - Five Star - OMG, fantastic! This is a very beautiful place, very quiet, and exceptionally clean. Staff and service accommodating your every request. Provided great information on local hiking trails. Our three-night stay was Five Star. Oh, and did I mention the beautiful grounds and breakfast? Highly recommend to all my friends.
- Walter (10/5): - Sehr nettes Interieur. Die Einrichtung ist mit Liebe gestaltet.
- Jerel (10/5): - This is the best bed and breakfast I've ever stayed in, and it's no contest. Everything about the Inn at Tern Lake was unique. We all loved it. Teal (lovely name) and her family have made this a special place and we would love to visit again... and again... and so on.
You can immediately recognize you're in a happy place as soon as you turn into the grounds. The trails, the ponds, the playground and tennis/basketball court and the handmade decorations demonstrate the detailed care and effort that makes this place wonderful.
Our biggest regret was missing the first day's breakfast, since on the second day we had an excellent meal prepared by Teal.
All-in-all, the Inn at Tern Lake was an unexpected gem discovered during our trip.
- Vicki (10/5): - The location was great, between Cooper Landing and Moose Pass with an easy drive to Seward. Beautiful mountains, small pond, walking trails with cute decorations. Closest restaurant a few miles south in Moose Pass. There is a communal kitchen area to use with refrigerator, microwave. Take off your shoes.
- chengqi (10/5): - Great place to stay if you are looking for a stop between Seward and anchorage. Clean room. Beautiful lake view. Only thing you need to pay attention is there is not many restaurants options nearby.
- Daphne (10/5): - This Inn was absolutely amazing. Wonderful view in all directions. Property was in perfect condition. The owners were very sweet and personal. The food was delicious. Cleanest room we had during out stay in Alaska. I would recommend this to anyone who is thinking about going to Alaska.
- Linda (10/5): - I had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Inn. It is in a great location for trips to Homer or Seward. My room was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was huge and tasty. i enjoyed the setting between mountains with ponds and streams. The hosts were gracious and welcoming. I would stay here again!
- Lakshitha (10/5): - One of the best home-stays. Very clean and organized. Homemade breakfast was delicious and the owner was very nice. Most importantly the backyard view through the window is marvelous. Would go back again for sure.
- Gabriel (10/5): Exceptional - Clean great location friendly folks
- Donna (10/5): - Beautiful, clean, spacious, great service and nicely done breakfast
- Martina (10/5): Lovely - Amazing view, amazing breakfast, amazing staff!
- Brian (10/5): Excellent, look forward to returning - This property is truly exceptional! The owners have created such an oasis of beautiful and comfort! We loved everything!
- Layla (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing facilities, wonderfully friendly staff, beautiful views! The bed was really really uncomfortable. Just needs a mattress pad!
- Elizabeth (10/5): - The Inn at Tern Lake is such a gem. The rooms are comfortable and the grounds are stunning. I really enjoyed the garden art walk. While we left too early to enjoy the homecooked breakfast, they made sur to pack us a to go breakfast. Would highly recommend staying here and will aboslutely return when back in the Kenai peninsula.
- brenda (10/5): - Such a lovely place to stay! The settings, inside and out, were delightful and abundant. We wished we had booked it for longer and will definitely be back!
- Karena LaReyna (10/5): - Beautiful grounds and location. The owners and their family are lovely. Ideal B&B experience.
- David (10/5): Very clean beautiful Inn with fabulous surrounding scenery. - We did not have breakfast the first morning as we left early at 7 am for a Kenia River fishing float trip. We exchanged texts and you offered to provide us a breakfast box lunch for the 2nd morning. The box breakfast was great.
The room was like staying with relatives. Take your shoes off at the entrance so you don't track dirt in. This helps keep everything much cleaner.
The scenery around the Inn is outstanding. My son and I walked on the trail near the edge of Tern Lake and the Inn. What a beautiful location. We loved your beautiful flower boxes and the well kept landscaping around the Inn. The location was so quiet and the views of the surrounding mountains and Tern Lake would take your breath away.
Five stars for certain! Sharing the info about which room we were in on the front entrance was fine. Texting and e-mailing this same info several days in advance would have been helpful so we could have coordinated better our Day 1 breakfast.
- Bobby (10/5): - The surroundings are stunning and literally everyone there was very kind and welcoming. Owners were great and super sweet. Staff was really friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was very good, to boot!
- Tamara (10/5): - Wonderful little lodge/Bed and Breakfast. Clean, Quaint with beautiful grounds and views. The breakfast was extra special, and the service, quality of dishes, and home cooking were the perfect way to start the day. My only suggestion would be to to install blackout curtains; everyone in my party had difficulty falling asleep and the next day we had a long, active day.
- elizabeth (10/5): - One of the loveliest places I’ve ever stayed. Beautiful, secluded and quiet, with huge rooms and a comfortable bed. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, providing a “guest kitchen” with a fridge to store our fresh-caught fish and a grill to grill them on. They even lent us grilling utensils and aluminum foil. The breakfasts were incredible, with blueberry muffins and the best blueberry scone I’ve ever had. A gem!!
- Lori (10/5): A beautiful place. Comfortable and quiet. Great location. - Everything!
- Emily (10/5): It’s absolutely a gem! - The breakfast was exceptional! We had a home cooked meal that is from their own recipes, simply elegant yet of a Michelin star quality. The entire property has been beautifully decorated which showcase thoroughly the owners love of and pride in it. We only stayed there one night and found nothing we didn’t like.
We drove right past the entrance because of bad cellular signal and the Inn’s sign wasn’t easy to spot. We should have downloaded an offline google map for the area.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Susanna (10/5): Exceptional!!!! - Exceptional location and wonderful owners and staff. Room 1 was immaculate and very roomy and comfortable. Delicious breakfast. Wonderful place to stay!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cozy retreat in Kenai - Had a great stay at Inn at Tern Lake. Beautiful scenery and grounds, friendly staff, comfortable room and good breakfast make this a cozy retreat!
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kris (10/5): - Owners were very nice and adjusted check in and breakfast to meet our screwed up schedule. Property is beautiful and rooms were clean. Bed was comfortable. I wish we could have spent more time here. It's very tranquil.
- Chet (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie-anne (10/5): Great getaway from Anchorage - A beautiful small inn and a great location. The breakfast was outstanding.
- Reed (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): STAY HERE - STAY HERE. Super cute, clean, great service, and an amazing breakfast.
- James (10/5): We will recommend the Inn at Tern Lake to our friends - Breakfast was outstanding each morning. Teal is an amazing cook and lovely person. Room number 1 has the best view. Walking around on the property was also special. Nothing
- Paula (10/5): - The decor inside and the gardens outside the inn were beautiful.
- GoletaMom (10/5): Must stay! - Excellent BNB. Wonderful location and hosts, delicious breakfast. Amazing views. We had a very spacious room with a king bed and a single bed. Bed was comfortable. We would return and highly recommend this beautiful location. Thank you! Five star.
- Geert (10/5): Lovely hosts, delicious breakfast, truly welcoming. - Very peaceful setting on a lake. Cozy b and b.
- Valerie (10/5): - Absolutely wonderful place to stay … hidden gem with wonderful hosts. We would definitely stay here again. Phenomenal breakfast. Don’t miss a walk around the property. The garden with custom art decor is really cool and we watched salmon spawning.
- Gary (10/5): Will definitely return ! -
- Krystyna (9/5): Superb -
- Musuizi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moshe (10/5): Very pleasant stay - Great breakfast
- Jessica (10/5): Magical forest experience. - Very clean rooms, excellent bed, views, personnel and breakfast. Perfect for a family trip and adventure, best place to estay near Seward and Kenai River.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Nice property, friendly staff - it was very peaceful, and the breakfast was wonderful each morning wonderful views
- cbhargraves (10/5): A truly wonderful experience. - My wife and I booked a night at The Inn At Tern Lake at Moose Pass, AK, as our first night stop after disembarking our cruise ship in Seward, AK; because, we wished to have a "centrally located" place from which to explore the Kenai Peninsula. This is a very beautiful spot and facility. Quiet, peaceful, very homey, comfortable rooms, great breakfast, whims
7yical garden paths, and a "make you feel at home" accommodation by the proprieters. It does require a drive of a few miles to get to a lunch or dinner venue; as this establishment only provides breakfast. Don't let that stop you!
- Terri (10/5): Great stay! Clean. Beautiful. Great breakfast highly recommend -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barry (10/5): The best! - The Inn at Tern Lake was first rate, top shelf, best Inn We have ever stayed at. Teal, the hostess was welcoming and prepared wonderful breakfasts every morning. The grounds and the inn were so artistically appointed, that it deserves special mention.
- Janna (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful scenery , nice room , tasty breakfast!
- K2080KIgregorym (10/5): Winter Honeymoon - I can't recommend this place enough. We stayed there for our winter honeymoon and it was amazing. Jeff and Rose gave great recommendations for what to see and do (and what what open). Rose even arranged some hockey gear for us.
The property itself was stunning, the views from the windows incredible, and the location between anchorage and Seward was excellent.
The breakfast cooked every morning was also amazing. If you are planning a trip to Alaska don't miss out!
- ksQ1142FG (10/5): Wonderful Stay - This was our final stop on a recent trip to Alaska. It was our favorite place. The innkeepers were congenial and helpful, the inn itself was spotless, the breakfast was outstanding and the scenery was breathtaking. We saw mountain goats on one mountainside, Dall sheep on another, moose along the road and salmon in the streams. A peaceful and restorative “base camp” for exploring a large area of the Kenai Peninsula.
- Emily (10/5): Absolutely wonderful! - This was by far our favorite stay during our trip to Alaska. Teal was wonderful, room and facilities were clean, and the common areas comfortable. Don’t delay and book this property for your trip, only 4 rooms on the property! The only thing I could say is the weather was pretty gross while we visited Seward and the surrounding areas- obviously nothing the property could control but I wish we could have spent more time enjoying the property, decks, and walking paths around the property!
- Mike (9/5): excellent property, very friendly staff, super clean, very scenic ...overall a great place to stay - Beautiful property, very helpful cordial staff and super clean
- Michelle (7/5): Good -
- Swathi (10/5): Amazing - Exceptional stay; the host was very friendly and helpful. They even prepared breakfast by 7:00 am for us.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patrick (8/5): - Beautiful area. Thx
- JanetC325 (10/5): Fantastic stay - I don’t usually write reviews unless we have an exceptional stay. We had an exceptional stay here. Teal was very welcoming and showed us around the property when we arrived...fantastic grounds and wonderful fully equipped kitchen and sitting area for the use of guests. The fridge stocked with fresh milk, juice, and yoghurts for use by the guests was very much appreciated. Also little bowls of chocolates were a thoughtful touch, There are only four rooms so the place is very peaceful and not at all crowded. The room (#1) was incredibly spacious and comfortable with beautiful views from 2 sides . Very comfortable bed and cozy private bathroom with incredible views and snuggly towels.
Breakfast was served at 8:30 - each room had their own socially distanced table in the common area. The food was home cooked and delicious with fresh ingredients and you helped yourself to tea and coffee from the kitchen.
Overall can’t recommend it highly enough...if we ever go back we’ll definitely stay again...it was one of the highlights of our trip.
- nickvarde (10/5): Loved it! - What a lovely property! We had room #4. There were 3 of us so the extra bed was perfect. The room was large and well maintained. The balcony overlooks the mountains. The Inn was perfect. Located very close to Seward yet distinctly away! The breakfast every morning was delicious. The Innkeepers are very friendly and attentive. The tennis and basket ball courts on site are just perfect after a day of site seeing. Plan on going there again next year. The entire area is very pretty.
- Patricia K. (10/5): - Wonderful! Gorgeous building in secluded, serene location with great decor. Rooms were very large, plenty of space and well furnished.Outdoor spaces on various decks. Balconies in rooms overlooking surrounding mountains and property. Whimsical trails around the property with artwork.
Excellent care by family, inventive tasty breakfast, and full kitchen use. We loved it!
- dscottmsw (10/5): Peaceful Stay - We have a very lovely and relaxing time at the Inn at Tern Lake. We had room number 1 - which was very large and had a king sized bed, couch, and balcony. The bed was very comfortable (a must for me!).
We stayed for 3 nights and each breakfast was delicious - we especially enjoyed the Crème Brûlée French Toast! The day we were checking out - we had to leave the Inn at 0700, so Teal packed us a “to go” breakfast. It was yummy and very much appreciated.
On our 2nd day staying at the Inn, we learned our upcoming “land tour” portion of our cruise had been cancelled but the “cruise” portion was still a go. We now had 6 open nights remaining before joining the cruise ship in Whittier. Fortunately, we were able to extend our rental car and Teal came to the rescue with lodging! Although the Inn, was booked, she coordinated lodging at her sister’s Air BnB and also at the Inn’s Guest House. We were so lucky for Teal to help us with lodging during the busy summer season.
We highly recommend staying at The Inn at Tern Lake - so peaceful and comfortable!
- Kiyara (10/5): - Jeff & Rose were the sweetest hosts!! The inn and rooms are so beautiful, each with their own balcony and stunning views of the scenery! We went snow shoeing to Tern Lake and it was breathtaking. We will absolutely be back to visit again, the inn far exceeded our expectations!
- Jennifer (10/5): - Wonderful Alaskan Stay. We were more than happy with our stay here for our two nights in Alaska. The host were very nice...the gourmet breakfasts both mornings were excellent. We loved having a large room overlooking a stream and the mountains. It is convenient between Anchorage and Seward. If you are looking for a very clean B&B that gives you all the feels of Alaska, this is the place. It is a great place to stay if going to Kenai Fjord or Seward.
- Stephanie (10/5): - One of the most wonderful, comfortable, serene, and just amazing stays I’ve had the opportunity of experiencing. This beautiful Inn is the perfect spot to either just relax in or to come back to after a day or exploring the surrounding areas. A hidden gem for sure!
- Debbie (10/5): - Inn at Tern Lake is a stunningly beautiful lodge at the base of mountains and overlooking Tern Lake.
From our huge bedroom's balcony we could watch and listen to the meandering creek and see snow capped mountains in all directions.
Rock walking paths course the property with displays of flower planters, benches and creeks.
There's a deck that spans the rear of the lodge and steps down to the shallow Term Lake. Grills are available for guests. Hot Breakfast of omelets, bacon, fruit and delicious, warm muffins, coffee, juice and yogurt.
The staff is so welcoming from the moment we arrived until we departed.
I highly recommend The Inn At Tern Lake when staying in the Kenai area.
- P1475RKashleyc (4/5): SUB-PAR - Lousy breakfast - Rock hard beds - We stayed one night here during our 16 nights in Alaska exploring over 1800 miles via vehicle and this was the most uncomfortable/ lousy breakfast stays of all the spots we visited. The breakfast was served ICE COLD to my children and I, it was some sort of French toast and strawberries with keilbassa. Keilbassa for breakfast ice cold 😳!! No drinks were offered or served to us. We made our own drinks in the k- cup machine. For over 250$ for one night for one adult/2 children it is extremely sub par. In addition, this “lake” that it is on is ankle deep and covered in alge in the water! Beware of swimmers itch getting in that water! VERY UNFORTUNATE find for a rock hard bed, lousy uncomfortable sheets and ice cold breakfast. 😩 NOTE:The location is right off the main road as well so if the windows are open all you hear all night is cars going by !!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic stay:
* Beautiful grounds and facility
* Smooth check in
* Clean
* Tasty breakfast
Highly recommended!
- Vanessa (10/5): Exceptional stay in Alaska - Outstanding stay at this immaculate Inn! Highly recommend for cleanliness, comfort, and breakfast. Hosts very accommodating and friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful property with thoughtful owners. Wonderful home-cooked breakfast. Great value in a super location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My family and I stayed at this beautiful property in late May. Our room was comfortable and spacious and had a wonderful balcony that looked out onto the lakes and mountains. Breakfast was served fresh in the morning in a large dining area and was very good. The owners and staff were very friendly and had good advice for the local area as well as future places to travel in Alaska. Was a very restful and beautiful location and we would love to stay here again in the future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great overall
- brandyrm (10/5): Amazing stay! - We had a GREAT stay here, the property and lodging was BEYOND my expectation. For such a remote area of Alaska, Jeff & Rose have created a beautiful (and ohhhhhh so clean) get-a-way for guests. The breakfast was delicious, hearty but healthy with a snack to take on the road too (freshly baked goods with original recipies from Rose). The common area is the best I have seen in my years of travel: clean, modern, EVERYTHING you could need including unopened milk & OJ in the fridge for guests. Even when i had a bit of an issue with my overall travel plans, Jeff went went beyond kindness to offer assistance. They run the property as a family, and they knocked it out of the park. If you're still reading this review, PLEASE book your stay with them!
- Patrica (10/5): Outstanding Experience! - This was an amazing experience! The lodge was clean and well thought out. The owners were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The gardens were charming. The amenities were outstanding. I will be recommending this to all my friends and family.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Such a hidden gem! Can’t recommend enough. The property is incredible and the owners take great care of it and their guests.
- Tyler (10/5): Amazing place! - This place is amazing and worth every penny! The owners make you feel right at home. The room was very spacious and extremely clean. The property and view is gorgeous! We will definitely be back!
- Jackfamily6 (10/5): Better than we imagined!! - This is a gem in a land of many amazing things.
The Inn is SPOTLESS, comfortable, welcoming, peaceful, beautiful, fun and affordable!
Rose, Jeff, Teal and Ruby work hard to make your stay perfect. They feed you a wonderful breakfast of homemade food daily, coffee and tea. They give you great tips about the area. There are activities for kids- Tennis, B-ball, Golf, Paddle boats and a beautiful view.
Also, homemade cookies every evening....... woot woot!!
We had 2 rooms and they were clean, comfortable and we all slept well.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Inn at Tern Lake for anyone that wants to enjoy their visit to the great state of Alaska.
- L8669LTjaredh (10/5): Best wedding ever - Stayed here for a friends wedding, could not be happier with how everything turned out. Very well ran, food was incredible, and the family that owns it are fantastic people! You will be well taken care of. The location is unbelievably gorgeous. Very close to multiple hiking trails. Would highly recommend.
- shawn7062 (10/5): Amazing views and amazing house! - This was a hidden gem! Loved the house and the location! It was quiet and very cozy! I would definitely come back!! The host was great, great communication throughout the stay! It’s only 30 minutes to Seward and 60 to Keanu/ Soldotna.
- Compass695967 (10/5): Perfect blend of personalized care and private space. - Lovely inn on a small private body of water, natural setting, large and well appointed rooms. Home-made cookies and coffee, tea or hot chocolate in the evening. Great recommendations for local sites from the owners who have deep roots in the area. Delicious breakfast. One of the nicest places we stayed!
- philip_coleman13 (10/5): You Won’t Regret It! - "Never mix business and family". We've all heard that before, but Rose and Jeff Hetrick (proprietors of the Inn at Tern Lake) seem like they haven't!
From the time myself, my wife, and our daughter arrived, Jeff and Rose skillfully toed the line between professional hosts and warm and welcoming long-lost relatives. We arrived hoping for a good experience with the B&B as a business and left feeling like family.
The Inn itself is pristine. The mountains surrounding Tern Lake and Moose Pass offer a 360° panorama from dawn until dusk (roughly 18 hours each day at the time of our early-July stay). The drive time to Seward is about 35 minutes, Cooper Landing is 20 minutes, and you can be in Soldotna in just under an hour. Proximity to lots of Alaskan attractions is great, but the Inn itself offered lots of our family to enjoy as well!
An idyllic view of the surrounding mountains is always available from the north-facing deck. Each room offers an outdoor balcony with seating for two, DISH access to catch a movie before bed (or PBS kids for our daughter), and a full sized bathroom. Breakfast was homemade each morning and easily the highlight of our stay, with a lot of variety and concessions made to keep everyone safe in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A beautiful and convenient location, warm and welcoming hosts, and a homemade breakfast each morning. What more could you want?
- Jamie (10/5): - My husband and I stayed here in Aug. of 2016. The surroundings and the inn were just beautiful!! This was our first trip to Alaska. The place was just peaceful. The staff was so kind and friendly. I highly recommend this inn to others who are traveling by car....
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The family at the Inn at Tern Lake was very nice, personable and helpful. Breakfast was great--different every morning and Teal gave us some great suggestions for sightseeing and fishing. Our room was spacious and clean--very comfortable.
- smilemm (10/5): Amazing place! - We found this amazing BnB literally by chance and I'm so glad we did! It has been one of the best places we've ever stayed. Rose and Jeff are wonderful hosts and our stay really felt like being home away from home.
The house, the room, the bathroom, etc. is sparkling clean. There are so many nice touches across the space—starting from the interior, finishing with various sweets that Rose has placed in different places across the house for the guests.
I wish we could stay longer to explore the area and the beautiful nature around it.
P.S. For those who are driving from south (Seward area) it's easy to miss the driveway and you notice it kind of after you pass it. However, Google Maps provides a pretty accurate location, so you can turn around and have no problem entering the driveway coming from the north, just make sure you are driving slow-enough not to miss it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - One of the best places I've ever stayed! Rose and Jeff are great people who've created authentic environment for their guests. Their home has amazing interior and truly feels like a home away from home. If you are looking for a place to stay around Moose Pass or even Seward, don't look any further!
- MIJeffir (10/5): Absolutely Incredible - We recently stayed at the Inn at Tern Lake. I can’t say enough about Jeff and his family. It’s an incredibly well run and beautiful place. Surrounded by even more beautiful scenery. We actually stayed in their guest house. It offered all the convenience and comfort of home and slept 5 adults very comfortably. If you’re visiting Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula, do yourself a favor and stay here. It was truly a highlight of our trip.
- Expedition431326 (10/5): Wonderful stay! - This is a gorgeous B&B in a beautiful setting! We stayed only one night (early June) and wanted to stay longer. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating - they even found room in their freezer for the fish my husband caught in Homer the day before. Breakfast was great. People get married there - I can see why ... it is an absolutely gorgeous property side and out ... and impeccably clean. It is very close to the intersection of the Seward and Sterling Highways. We spent a good bit of time at Tern Lake ... it is pretty and great for watching birds.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice experience !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - They’re so friendly, helpful and generous. Totally went above & beyond our expectations and we discovered they grew up in our town also
- recepbosni (10/5): Home away from home - We had a wonderful stay at Inn at Tern Lake. The hosts Rose and Jeff are welcoming and wonderful. The house is spotless, charming, cutely decorated with many personal touches and very spacious and comfortable. The house has a million dollar view of surrounding mountains and a river. Breathtaking!!!!
Our room had a balcony with inspiring views and every morning we saw mountain goats, eagles, and sheep.
We loved staying here so much we wished we stayed for longer. Two thumbs up! Highly recommended. We hope to be back soon!!!
- gemcgee101 (10/5): The best place to stay in Alaska! - I just returned from a recent trip to Alaska that was a surprise for my boyfriend’s 40th birthday. In January I was fortunate to find the beautiful Inn at Tern Lake available for the dates I needed. Jeff, the owner, was a joy to work with and helped answer any of my questions. The main house and detached guest house provided plenty of space for our 10 person group. Jeff also gave great recommendations on activities I was trying to plan, like a boat charter in Seward and salmon fishing with his son Corey, a local guide. My guests were blown away by the beauty of the Inn but also the hospitality of Jeff and Rose and their entire family. They cooked us delicious gourmet breakfasts whenever we asked and allowed us to use their laundry room facilities too. We loved the location, the unbelievable views, the hot tub and the extremely comfortable beds. One of my guests said he hadn’t gotten 9 hours of sleep in a very long time, but he did there! I HIGHLY recommend the Inn! Go or you will be missing out! I hope to return again soon and most certainly will if I’m ever in Alaska again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This inn is a beautiful place in a beautiful setting away from the crowds but still close to Seward in the Kensington forest. It is family owned and their care comes through. Highly recommended. Watch for the sign carefully!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very helpful owners made this trip exceptional. Great information on what to see and do in the area. Great views from every window. We didn't want to leave.
