Guest Reviews
- Jaykayangels (10/5): A unique jungle experience – come for the atmosphere, not for luxury - This Khao Sok tree house hotel is all about the experience, not luxury, and that’s exactly what makes it special. The tree houses are spread throughout the jungle and connected by wooden walkways, with a nice pool in the center. Reception and restaurant are beautifully designed and really make you feel surrounded by nature.
The tree houses are simple but comfortable, with air conditioning, a mosquito net, and a fridge. Storage space is limited, but luggage is brought to your room, which is a great service. The staff is friendly and helpful throughout your stay.
Breakfast is excellent with three freshly made options, drinks are good and affordable, and the food is fantastic. A unique and memorable jungle stay – highly recommended if you’re looking for atmosphere and adventure rather than luxury.
- jawsie1 (8/5): A unique jungle experience - We booked this hotel with some trepidation given the mixed reviews and now understand why there is such a range.
Ultimately these are rooms in the middle of a jungle area where it rains a lot. If you go expecting 4* luxury you will be very disappointed.
On the plus side staff were friendly, the rooms have character, and the communal area is very pleasant and creates a nice social hub.
Do bear in mind though that rooms are basic, shower quality is limited, and some mod-cons (like somewhere to hang your clothes!) are missing. If you embrace it for what it is then it’s fine, but do not expect luxury (and be prepared for the odd bug!).
Also we booked a number of tours but information on what to expect, what to take etc. was very limited which is a shame as we were not as prepared as we could have been. We also found the weather forecasts to be useless and it rained pretty much all the time (no fault of the hotel tho!).
- Q5244NMwilliamc (4/5): Unique stay - It's humid, hot, and a little rough around the edges. If you like that jungly experience this place is for you. Would book expeditions last minute as there are no refunds and there is no up charge to booking things day of. Didn't end up seeing anything on our night tour and the day tour either... tour guide didn't speak much English either.
- 665elic (10/5): Made our trip - This hotel is just amazing and the staff is unbelievable nice always with a smile
And the food is great
By the way the prices are reasonable
We stayed for 4night didn’t want to leave but that is life 😂😂
By the way breakfast is from 7A M TO 9/30A M
AND very good one
- travla67 (8/5): Great jungle setting close to town - It's a cool location, set in the jungle, and all rooms/huts accessed via raised walkways. The room we had was large and a big bathroom with a bath (that we didn't use). Breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. Peaceful place but you do hear loud cicadas. It's a 10 minute walk to town.
The water pressure in the shower was very weak. A larger area to sit outside attached to the room would have been nice, as well as a general common area with couches (although there is a large seating area with tables for eating).
- Chrisisontrip (6/5): 4 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟? No absolutely not justified - A spacious location, in the green, but also flush with the road, which you can hear. The staff is friendly.
bet pool is pleasant and large enough to cool off or just relax.
The hotel has four stars. We are not clear what star 3 and 4 are based on. As far as we are concerned, not the interior of the accommodations. The cottage smells of moisture and is moldy.
the honeymoon suite has an empty bar and a bathtub. Which is impossible to fill with a weak jet. (Safe such a bathtub on a wooden floor 40 meters above the ground?) The shower idem, a weak jet of water.
The breakfast buffet is for 4 stars (?) sparse.
wn well what was written before how safe and controlled are the iron structures!
In terms of location a great base base for the national park or other outings.
but again, 4 stars ? No Maybe 1 or 2 resort.
- Nifty1301 (8/5): Nice surprise - I liked this place .staff were friendly, the accomadtion was interesting they are all treehouse types .mine was clean no bugs and I had warm water for showers.
Breakfast was actually very good . Everything that you could possibly want which surprised me
I appreciated the effort that they'd gone to. I booked my trips with the hotel also. All was good .
There is also a skywalk which is free for guests to use
- pburns (8/5): Very enjoyable stay - Very happy with our stay in this hotel. Rooms are very clean and spacious with sufficient facilities considering the rural location and the fact your are staying in a tree house. AC worked great, we had a comfortable sleep. Breakfast is limited but sufficient, the food for dinner from the restaurant was very tasty. The pool is great especially after a long day of activities. Friendly helpful team.
- hervep632 (10/5): investigation before construction of the dam - I was the project manager for the feasibility study of the dam on the Klong Daeng in 1973-74 .
Several time we investigated yhe geology of the reservoir area to ensure that there is no risk of leaks through the karstic rock in direction of Klong Sok.
- E1695PTgaryb (8/5): A very enjoyable stay - Overall really enjoyed the stay. I only give 5 stars for perfection which this resort didn’t quite meet.
Positives: tree house rooms that are kept clean and serviced daily. Have tv, shower, air con, fridge, comfortable bed with mosquito net.
Staff were very friendly and attentive apart from one man who appeared to be the boss and was a little less happy.
Food and drink were good and breakfast substantial.
Be aware that you have to climb steps and walk the suspended walkways.
The pool was well maintained and a real boon in the hot weather.
We enjoyed the skywalk but needs a head for heights.
We did amazing trips to the forest and elephant sanctuary
Work-ons: the room had a slight musty smell but not a big issue.
The rooms are thin walled so you can hear everything going on in adjacent rooms.
- 780samarac (8/5): Very cool experience - Very cool to sleep on a tree house! Our room had a small balcony but we noticed one of the beams was lose so we didnt want to risk it. Restaurant has very good options and we loved the breakfast as well. The family running the hotel is super nice and makes a difference. Our room was very spacious and confortable, we had AC and fans. We were also lucky to see monkeys! I didnt like the tour we booked, our boat didnt have a first aid kit and unfortunally I fell getting off the boat and hurt my leg. The guide wasnt very helpful. The hotel did take care of getting us another boat to the pier and a car to take us to the hospital and back to the hotel. We didnt have an opportunity to try the pool as it was rainning most of the time but we loved our stay overall.
- 295dickv (2/5): Safety issues - I think this place targets families who want to do jungle activities. It's a one stop shop and they are pretty helpful in arranging your activities. Staff was also doing a good job. The food served outside breakfast was also good.
My concerns with this place are:
- Safety: I don't trust the tree house structures. Please see the picture of the loose support pole of a balcony. I had to warn my upper neighbours standing on that loose balcony with their kids.. We climbed the Skywalk and in hindsight I regret that (not for the view) because I doubt whether the structure is checked (especially the welds) on a regular basis. The electrical wiring in and outside is done very poorly and doesn't comply to any acceptable safety standards (see photo's).
- Breakfast: seriously the worst breakfast we had in Thailand. Instant coffee..
- Rooms: old, old, sweat stinking beds...
- Pool: the pool itself is well maintained and clean. However the surroundings are not maintained. The poolbar is now a storage facility and the waterfall has run in years...
So I understand post-covid troubles, but this place is not investing anything in maintenance. I would avoid at all cost.
- MattwalesNorthWales (10/5): Tree house fun in the jungle. - I must admit that the publicity photos of this place on Trip.com and here we're a mite confusing as it is not on a lake, but if you get past that this is a really nice quirky family run hotel on the edge of the national park. All the rooms are tree houses at varying levels from 4m to 15m up in the canopy of a jungle like area. Room access can be a bit tricky if you are an elderly traveller as the metal steps are quite steep in places, but other than that the rooms are spacious, comfortable and we'll equipped ( for a tree house) - air con, TV, western toilet, en suite shower, refrigerator and coffee making facilities. Some have additional outside seating too, but you must realize that the climate here means anything made of wood doesn't last long, our outside table collapsed due to some very determined ants, but as soon as I reported it they came to fix it. The outdoor pool is small but the perfect place to cool off. The hotel is family run and the staff couldn't be nicer. The food is tasty and fairly priced, and the bar opens till you go to bed. The gates to the park are literally 2km away so it makes a great base for exploring the area.
Loved it
Thank you
- Christine (8/5): - It’s a cool little spot in the middle of the jungle.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Power went out, no wifi in rooms and cockroaches throughout the bathroom
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The place is amazing! The area is absolutely beautiful and the treehouses are great! Very clean and great facilities. Only comment would be on the reception staff; with language barriers we found it difficult to get answers to any of our questions, but this was easily fixed with a stroll down the street to other restaurants/resorts.
- Jennifer (10/5): Tree House Paradise - We spent two nights at the Khao Sok Tree House while visiting the national park. The staff were really nice, especially the owners. We booked the night safari and Cheow Lan Lake Tour through the hotel. Both were great, but the Lake Tour was far more worth it. The room was rustic and very cool. I would stay here again!
- Shirley (6/5): Simple and decent tree house - It was certainly a tree house, which was what I wanted. A bit small but doable for 2, the bathroom/shower area is very simple and not much hot water, but doable. The bed is personally uncomfortable to me, but if you like form beds, it'll be ok. The towels smelled weird, which I think really needs some upkeeping. The owners are nice, the woman much more than the man, and the wife was very helpful in helping our preparation for the lake/cave tour. Service was overall good, and helped brought our luggage up all those stairs.
- Tiffany (8/5): cool rooms but dated - ok, the rooms were really cool. but when im paying this much a night I would expect to have hot water when I shower! the beds were only ok - the matress was old.
- Silvio (6/5): Mantiene quanto promette - Stanze molto caratteristiche
- D. Schmidt (2/5): Don't go there! - On our arrival the staff was very unfriendly. We booked a Treehouse for about 100$ a day. This ist five times as much the other hotels in the area charge. The room was a total mess. Blankets were dirty, the roof was coming off, rubbish in the bathtub, we could barely see through the windows. During our 1 hour stay a lamp in the bathromm fell off.
We tried to cancel our stay but the owner refused. We talked to him three days in a row trying to come to an agreement without success. We never got our money back. Exedia Thailand also refused to communicate with us. We spend about 450$ for a room we could not stay in.
- Freddy (10/5): Nice stay in the tree house. - We stayed in the Khao Sok Tree House for 3 nights. It is located close to the Khao Sok National Park. It was nice staying in the tree house located high in the jungle trees. It is located in a quiet area and it is possible to hear the monkeys in the forest.
We had a warm welcome and the hotel staff was very helpful.
The tree house was cleaned daily.
The hotel restaurant has an extensive menu to choose from both for Thai and Western food at reasonable price.
Lucky we had a car which made it easy to visit many beautiful things to see but a lot of them are far away.
- Alan (6/5): Novelty wears off - The rooms are tree houses but the novelty wears off quickly as access is awkward and very little works as it should. They work full time repairing the place but nature is reclaiming it faster.
- Nick (8/5): Unique place to stay - Tree house in the jungle. You just got to experience it.
- Mo (10/5): Amazing hotel, must go there!! - I had an awesome time at the Khao Sok tree House Resort! Lovely staff, I felt so looked after and cared for! Amazing food! Awesome tours! And really cool rooms! The pool was also a lovely feature! Definitely must go there!
