- Shaun (9/5): - Location was ideal for us. Staff were friendly Only thing I can say is the room was really warm I understand this is because it was on the top floor.

- yvonne (8/5): - Good location Was a little noisy
- Michelle (2/5): Never again - Location very good, close to the Tower The clientele. Some vagrants were checked in while I was waiting. Now I understand the reason for a refundable damage deposit.
- Keith (8/5): Good - Location great hotel was fine clean enough paid £108 for 3 nights for 2 people fantastic value Room was a bit small
- Steve (8/5): - Central location, very near the tower and other attractions Curtains didn't block light...
- Philippa (8/5): nice friendly hotel with everything on your doorstep. - The staff are so friendly and welcoming, they really made our stay. Especially Adam and Rob. Breakfast was great, location is perfect. Nothing really, it’s a basic hotel and worth what we paid for it. Could do with a lick of paint but these things happen over time!

- Caroline (4/5): Was an ok stay but probably won’t return - The property is in a great location and the staff are really nice we did get complimentary breakfast for both mornings we were there which was good free of charge I really think the property has went down hill the rooms aren’t very clean they really could be doing with a make over the beds are shocking very very uncomfortable marks on the mattress I think they should have mattress protectors on them same with pillows at least they could be washed and was not Impressed with some of the clientele that were hanging around the property not sure if they were staying in the hotel really not a good look for the hotel I probably wouldn’t stay here again which is a shame as I have stayed here a few times the staff and location are great

- Sheila (1/5): Awful and place unfit to be called a hotel ! - Photos are totally misrepresented, hotel (?) in state of flux ..facilities abysmal ! 2 medium towels per person , floor dirty and sticky , bar/ lounge impossible to sit and relax in , all very basic and tatty , obviously proprietor could care less just interested in getting the money and customer comfort not important. Breakfast …tea undrinkable , eggs runny and not cooked properly, tinned tomatoes ..all condiments sticky , once was enough, came away hungry ! Best thing was the fruit . Bed had and bad mattress with springs obvious and very light duvet ..this is England ! Some friendly staff but others totally unfit for job . Will be getting in touch with booking.com separately Everything …

- Jackie (9/5): Group stay - Fab location and excellent value for money. A nice clean room and lovely friendly staff. The family room was a lot of stairs.
- Cora (10/5): - Staff so welcoming especially Adam . Nothing ever too much to ask . Breakfast and the Indian absolutely beautiful food and 10/10 service . Adam always goes above and beyond every time to make sure the stay is welcoming and comfortable as possible . I would 100% recommend staying here and our family would never stay anywhere else while visiting Blackpool . It feels like home when staying here . Clean very comfortable beds . If you stay longer than a night you always get fresh towels / toilet rolls . Very happy .
- Gill (8/5): - Beds very comfortable staff went above and beyond to accommodate us breakfast amazing
- Laura (1/5): - Near town Awful depressing, blinds broken, toilet door broken, dingy hallway, no lamps, hairs on the beds, smell of must
- Yochai (5/5): Unfortunately, even with nice staff, this establishment still has some refinement to do. - The shower pressure and water temperature were good. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Communication with them was great and they all try their best to assist. The breakfast was nice and the lady in charge of the hall, serving the food and making sure all is in order was brilliant. The room itself, the amenities and overall hygiene of the facility.
The room was unclean and not very well taken care of. Dust, rust on the kettle coil, missing lightbulbs and a broken window latch (which broke off in my partner's hand, injuring her). These were all part of an accommodation that was not very welcoming and relaxing. The room faced the street on the 3rd floor. The cold air came in, and we tried to close the window, only to have the partially already broken latch, snap off in our hand, and causing a minor cut injury.
The room itself smelled simultaneously of both mold and bleach, and there were un-savory characters at the front of the hotel, hanging about particularly at night, which made my partner feel a bit un-safe. I was okay, but as a man I might be less affected.
The walls are also quite thin, which made it harder to rest, since hearing the other guests in their rooms in inevitable.
Even though I chose the non-refundable option, after one night I had to turn to Booking customer service. They did their best to resolve the issues, and acquire a partial refund. Out of a booking of around 300 Euros, I got back 50, which is what it is. Both good and bad.
We ended up paying for another hotel nearby, out of sheer necessity. The Calypso hotel manager was positive and pleasant, attentive to my plea and did the best he could - as did the rest of the staff.
The first sign of "warning" should have been clear to me, as we came to check in after a long day of travel, only to see 3 police officers at the lobby, speaking with the attendant, regarding finding a particular tenant of the hotel, who might have been involved in something shady or other.
TL:DR - Staff tried their best, but the physical accommodation is virtually hostile. Shower is great actually, but that's hardly enough. choose this for short stays only, or if you can't be bothered by almost anything, and need to location close to the Winter Gardens.
- MR & MRS BEGG (7/5): Breakfast was fantastic - Breakfast was fantastic six item cooked Breakfast with unlimited cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, jam, tea and coffee. Cooked perfectly was seated every morning and greated by waiting staff.
Perfect distance from all amenities and shops, Indian restraunt part of hotel which came in handy lovely cuisine. Bed mattress was soft room was clean on arrival own key to room and had private shower and toilet in room Didn't like people standing in doorway cigarette and weed smoking, our room wasn't cleaned our whole stay from Saturday although we had a please service our room sign on door from sunday till monday late evening. We left on the Tuesday morning.
I had to approach staff and ask for change of towels, toilet roll and bags for rubbish and had to take them out of room ourselves. Had to buy own handsoap aswell due to no room service there was also no complimentary replenishment replenished.
There was no problem asking reception staff for what was required they were very accommodating.
Saw a few undesirable entering room corridors and hovering in lobby and main reception corridor. 1 was an elderly gentleman who looked homeless he was absolutely filthy who had soiled and wet himself and was 😳 i wouldn't feel safe if I was to travel alone with kids. Alot of noise from other visitors running up and down stairs during the night. Our window room 205 looked out to an unsightly back area scaffolding and very run down area had to keep curtains shut not only for the unsightly view but to keep the cold out as heat kept getting lost through glass, heating s
Didn't keep the room warm at all.
Shower was hot but sink didnt have a good flow on draining water out sink.not enough coat hangers for a family of 4 or storage
- Brian (10/5): - Nice clean quiet hotel handy for everything. And staff were really helpful

- Nathan (8/5): Another Great Stay. Can't Wait To Come Back - The staff remembered me from my previous stay and welcomed me back. They also allocated me a room that was easy to find and personally showed me where it was. The toilet wouldn't flush and there wasn't really much of a view our of the window.

- Gemma (8/5): The staff were lovely. Breakfast fast good. Beds were comfortable! - It was close to winter gardens where we needed to be! The hot water was very very hot! And we couldn’t shower.
- Bethan (10/5): -
- Nedyalka (6/5): -
- Paul (6/5): Cheap and cheerful and got what we paid for. - The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our room was small and more appropriate for single occupancy but clean and comfortable. The location is perfect and within easy walking distance of all Blackpool attractions. Freshly cooked breakfast and good selection of cereals, yoghurts and fruit were available. We have experienced a lot of budget hotels and this was one of the better ones. We did not go with any unreasonably high expectations and credit to the staff for doing their very best to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Bit of a warren with lots of stairs and overdue a refurbishment. the heating in room did not have a working thermostat that we could use to control the heat but when informed staff they arranged for it to be turned down.

- Michelle (10/5): - We are in Blackpool twice a year for dancing competitions and the Calypso has been the best hotel we've stayed in. The room was clean and two of the beds were really comfy. One bed was quite springy but my youngest shared with me so it wasn't an issue. Breakfast was fab. Adam and the team and very welcoming. We had to ask for a later check out as my 2 year old was poorly and staff were so accommodating which was really appreciated. It's easy to see they're working hard to upgrade the hotel and we couldn't fault them at all. Looking forward to staying again in August.
- Danielle (10/5): Great Stay - The hotel is in the perfect location , the hotel itself is working on painting & refreshing the place so giving this it will b better when it’s all finished & freshened up .
The room was ideal clean white bedding & clean white towels the bathroom was clean . Tv in the room tea coffee & hot chocolate satchets along with bottles of water .
The Staff at this hotel go above & beyond Adam was just amazing We received breakfast for both mornings of our stay which consisted of continental & the offer of a full English or bacon roll ect , noting was ever too much for him he was reception & the bar he was so considerate & Kind & would go out his way to help you which is amazing . Can’t thank him enough for everything & We will definitely be back to stay .
- Matthew (8/5): If you want a decent hotel in Blackpool at a good price, this place is perfect. - Location was perfect for me getting to and from the Winter Gardens. The room was quiet and I slept well each night, pretty much does exactly what it says on the tin. Breakfast on the first morning was a bit chaotic as they were very busy and I think had a member of staff down. I don't think it helped that there were a lot of people there for the convention which started at 09:00 and the breakfast room only opens at 08:30 so the half hour window to get everyone's order and get their food out was a bit tight.
- Ingus (5/5): -
- Hayes (5/5): Calypso Hotel - Staff very welcoming and helpful.Room was warm/clean/ bed comfy.Excellent breakfast. Hotel 'run down'- not like pics online.Very noisy street outside all night and people coming into hotel into the early hours- dud not sleep well.
- Garvey (9/5): -
- Kelli (3/5): - Location Dirty. Bed broke
- Amanda (4/5): - The staff were very pleasant polite and helpful When I walked in there was a ver pungent smell the carpets on the way up the stairs was dirty and stained walking through to mY booked room I felt it was maintained poorly got to my room the smell of dirty mens urinals hit me the bedding was clean but felt considering the rest that it shouldn't have been clean the utility table was wobbly splattered with old paint the wall by the TV had big holes from a previous TV fixings the laminate floor was not nice when I went to make a tea the glass cups was grubby and could see finger prints on them the bathroom stank of old urine round the bottom of the toilet flooring was not sealed I suspect that urine drenched in through the base the mirror in both room and bathroom needed a clean the decor was poorly done paint was not finished off properly and very old when I went to refill the kettle I opened the lid and there was a hair stuck in where the filter goes I lifted the bin bag out of the bin and the bottom of the bin was filthy I found myself buying cleaning stuff and cleaning the room to make it bearable as I had already paid for my stay so had to put up with it for the weekend
- Paul (10/5): Great value for money - Loved everything about this hotel Nothing
- Clayton (5/5): Wouldn’t stay again but appreciate your hospitality - Good location, staff were ok, passed my test while staying here 👍 Loud hotel, expensive for drinks & pretty much everything else they sold. Strange smell in 108 - damp in bathroom ?
- Kirsty (8/5): - The staff was very welcoming on arrival and helped us with a few questions The room door because it looked like it wasn't shut properly but it was
- Kim (9/5): - We were looking for somewhere cozy, warm and clean.Calypso ticks all the boxes.Excelent value for money and the location was perfect .Myself and my eleven year old daughter felt very safe here and the staff made us feel welcome. The view of the tower from our window was fab.xx thank you
