- Tourist05172669428 (2/5): Unsanitary Hot Tub - Contracted Rash and Poor Management - Extremely disappointed with my stay at Purity Spring Resort. After using the hot tub a few times, I developed a severe case of 'hot tub rash' (Pseudomonas folliculitis), which is a clear indicator of poorly maintained, inadequately chlorinated water. When I brought this health issue to management's attention, they refused to take any accountability or offer a refund. This was an expensive, unhealthy experience, and I would advise against using their hot tub facilities.

King Pine and Purtity Springs made my trip with my children memorable and enjoyable while also being something I could afford as a single parent. Rooms were immaculately cleaned and well stocked for a family stay, and the staff was wonderful across the board. Would highly recommend to any and all looking for a family-friendly ski or summer getaway! One note, rooms facing the ski mountain can hear overnight trail maintenance so if you're particularly sensitive to background noise I recommend some earplugs.

Pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the amenities and accommodations. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up for a relaxing stay after a day on the mountain. From start to finish, it was an enjoyable, stress-free getaway with great value for the price. We made some great family memories here and would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a charming, family-friendly ski trip. ❄️⛷️

- Katherine (4/5): Not what we had in mind for little kids - We stayed here as part of a birthday trip for my toddler, as we had lots planned in the area and were actually drove out of our way to stay here. We were excited about the pool and hotel restaurant. Once we arrived, we were told our room was actually down the road, so to use the pool or restaurant, we would have to reload back into our vehicle and go back and forth to use either accommodation. Once we arrived at our building, we quickly realized there was NO PARKING, people were actually double parked, for what we later learned was a wedding on site. My husband had to park down the street and walk, after unloading me and our 3 children (2 toddlers and an infant). Upon opening our room, I saw it was infested with bugs- ladybugs, stink bugs, house flys and a wasp. They were isolated around the large window, but honestly, it was gross. When we finally got settled, loaded the kids back up and got back from the “hotel restaurant”, is when the nightmare continued. The wedding was literally beneath our room! The noise and vibration was physically shaking our room until after 10pm. So our 7pm bedtime for our kiddos clearly didn’t happen, and the next morning and day made that much more difficult with fussy kids (and tired adults). I realize for many adults, this is not as much of an issue, and even a notification from the hotel about the wedding and impending inconveniences would have gone a long way. The room was ok, dated and simple. If it weren’t infested I would even say clean.

But they should never have rented a room in that lodge that was not an attended to Y the wedding. And there are Japanese lady bugs everywhere. sounded too o rustic.

Leaf peeping season is already past peak, if there was a peak this year. We hope the sky will open up with heavy rains and early snow to regenerate the water table and lead to a successful ski season at the resort. All in all this is a nice place to stay and we wish them well.

Bed was super hard, pillows were limp even though we used 2 each, the chairs are super hard especially after a long day. No comfort. Could had been vacuumed better, the place said resort. Pics looked beautiful. Nothing as described. Horrible 2 nights. Especially after long days at the fair. Extremely disappointed.
- Curiosity16836809115 (10/5): A Fall experience - Clean, courteous, helpful and in a wonderful outdoor setting. Although I have visited the resort in the winter may times over 6 decades, this was my first overnight stay. I was not disappointed.
- StephV44 (8/5): Impressive - We were here for a couple nights for a wedding. Booking the "right" room online is complicated if you don't know the layout. If you are in a wheelchair or have issues maneuvering stairs, call the resort to discuss options. There are no elevators or ramps at the Inn. The Inn is not a building to choose if you require a wheelchair or limited stair use. That also means that the restaurant and bar are not an option, either, as they are both inside of the Inn. The resort is on both sides of Route 153. There are multiple buildings. The check-in office is in the Mill. The staff are incredibly nice and accommodating. Upon entering the Inn, there's a strong, odd smell, but it was not in the room. The room surprised me. We booked a room that had a king bed and 2 twin beds. The twin beds are separated from the King bed allowing us to shut the door. The bathroom was in the room with the twin beds. There was also a sink, microwave, coffee and small refrigerator. Very comfortable beds. The room appeared to be relatively recently updated compared to the rest of the Inn. We were comfortable and it was a nice stay. They did a great job with the wedding reception, which was across the street from the Inn and beside the lake. We were truly impressed with the staff, the property, their great work with detail for the wedding and our comfortable stay.

We went down morning, swimming in the lake, and even used the fitness gym and swam in the pool in the hot tub... We stayed here as an overnight just between a camp drop off and a camp pickup, and it was the best place ever we could have stayed. Will absolutely be staying here again, hopefully for a longer trip and that's just one night!

- rkb155 (4/5): Going Downhill fast! Find another place for your vacation. - This USED to be a fabulous family run resort that we came back to year after year for over 40 years. The Hoyt family put their hearts and souls into it and it showed. Every year improvements were made. Now it is run by Highway West and instead of improving, ever year it goes farther downhill. If you are looking for a good family resort vacation, keep looking. This place is going downhill FAST. They need to make some drastic improvements or they will run it into the ground.

It is clear this resort takes staff training seriously because every interaction was warm, professional, and accommodating. The pool was spotless and such a fun feature for downtime. We also really enjoyed the on site restaurant. The food was excellent and a perfect complement to the rest of our stay. Beyond the resort itself, the hiking trails and nearby ponds were breathtaking, offering plenty of opportunities to explore the area’s natural beauty. One of the highlights was all the recreation included. Canoes, paddleboards, and kayaks were readily available, which made for an unforgettable experience on the water. Overall, Purity Springs is the kind of place where you feel truly taken care of, with a perfect balance of relaxation, adventure, and great hospitality. We cannot wait to return!

- 484charless (10/5): A Nostalgic Return that was a Wonderful Family Reunion - For several years in the early 2000s, Purity Spring Resort was a summer destination for my wife and I and our three young sons. It was a wonderful, informal, family atmosphere with a lot for young kids to do -- including being able to kayak on their own, take hikes, swim in the lake, and enjoy many other activities. Importantly, it was a much-appreciated break for my wife, as she didn't have to prepare meals and could enjoy family activities. Highlights included lobster night and an outdoor cookout breakfast. This year, some 20 years later, we decided to try Purity Spring Resort again and the staff and the resort not only met but exceeded our expectations. This time, we were a contingent of 16, with three sons and their wives and eight grandchildren. The grandchildren enjoyed all the activities we had remembered our children loved. And their parents loved seeing experiences they fondly remembered passed to the latest generation. Staff was fabulous. In particular, the dining room staff accurately kept track of orders for 16. The water skiing staff was patient and encouraging, and the little ones loved making tie-dye t-shirts. My one reservation about posting such a positive review is that we would like to be able to book a return visit and don't want demand to exceed supply.

I didn’t realize that we wouldn’t be staying at the main resort but instead at the nearby ski area building buildings. It was still fine, but just didn’t know that would be the case.

The accommodations, the pool, the food, all amazing. All the staff we encountered were super friendly. Only thing that could have been a little better. It had snowed and the parking lot at the lodge where we stayed wasn't plowed or shoveled very well. I know it's a ski facility so I kind of understand.

It was located in the building with the restaurant, which was super convenient to not have to bundle up/drive to get dinner! The view out the back windows was forest, which was nice. Very clean. Comfy beds and modern linens/comforters. A little dated, but I would definitely stay here again!!

In the past, we had meals provided in our building for us. It would be nice to have that option again. It would also be nice to have a shuttle from the buildings to the mountain.

- pavlarez (10/5): Charming, comfortable and very friendly - Had heard good things about it from my brother-in-law, and wanted a place to practice backcountry skiing. Got up at dawn and had some beautiful climbs and runs before the slopes opened, and even after that it was not crowded and was really fun atmosphere with all the kids and young families. Comfortable slopeside room above the ski lodge for a very reasonable price, everybody was really friendly and helpful, the front office helped us change our package at no cost to one that include free lift tickets. We will be back.

The location was perfect. The room was a bit out of date. Definitely an older property but it was clean and comfortable. The ski trails were well groomed. The pool area and changing rooms were very clean. The hot tub was actually hot and the fitness room better than average. Unfortunately the on site restaurant was not open during our stay. We had breakfast sandwiches from a convenience store that were decent and it was about a 25 minute drive to get dinner.

- jtully88 (10/5): Our favorite ski resort! - King Pine is our favorite family ski resort! We love that there is a good variety of skill-levels, yet all trails lead right back up to the sane area at the top. We love staying at the resort at the ski-in, ski-out. It allows for the kids to take a break when they get cold or tired, or the adults to take a break, to go in and eat in the room and still watch the kids from the window. The common areas in the hotels are great. We have game night and all meet up to have dinner. We also love that there are dog-friendly room options for when we have to travel with the pups. The staff are amazing and helpful too. King Pine is the best!
