Guest Reviews
- Mark (5/5): Wouldn’t go back - The restaurant had good food. Temperature control, of both the room and water.
The television was internet only. No network options.
Light switch for our kitchen was outside of our suite and not well marked.
The furniture for clothing (dressers) were barely functional.
Was very noisy.
The stairs were very challenging
Was not enough parking on site.

- Adam (5/5): Bring your own mattress and ear plugs. - Great location, great size room, very cozy. The bed was terrible. I was in pain the entire next day. What I’m assuming was someone coming in and out of the kitchen from the restaurant, the loud sound of the gate door slamming woke us up a lot. Just not a very restful night sleep at all.
- Bryan (10/5): Cool Western themed restaurant, bar and rooms. Damn cool! - Large suite, full m/s kitchen, full size refrigerator, all appliances. Space to move around! This apartment/ suite is on the ground floor. Has private off street parking for a vehicle or multiple motor cycles. It’s in the heart of town. The restaurant has breakfast lunch and dinner, an outside bar with live music! Cool place! Next to nothing. It was all good.

- William (10/5): Extremely friendly staff very accommodating, beautiful room - Beautiful room very comfortable Nothing
- Kirk (9/5): Price on Booking.com was substantially lower than the normal rate. - Really enjoyed my stay. Easy access to Yellowstone entrance. Kitchen in the room allowed me to cook my own meals, but numerous restaurants are within walking distance Mattress seemed to be upside down and it felt like sleeping on the box spring.

- Sara (2/5): Awful. Avoid staying here if you like sleep. - The decor was cute. Where do I start? I was an inconvenience when checking in. To do that you must go into the bar. I was walked to the “apartment” located in the rear of the restaurant/bar. Inside was dimly lit. Lots of light fixtures, under watt bulbs. The bed was terrible. Old coil spring mattress made it impossible to get comfortable. Then came the noise…the banging from the bar doors, the trash area, and staff area kept me awake until about 130am. It started again around 630. For what they charge a night, you’d think it would be more comfortable and restful.

- Rong Shen (8/5): -
- Martha (6/5): Memorable & a bit expensive at over $200! - My 5-year-old cowboy kid loved the decor. Bit expensive at over $200 tho! Bit expensive at over $200 tho!
- Christine (1/5): Not as advertised. - Location for Yellowstone North Entrance. First room was dark, broken sink, up steep outside stairs and the hallway light was not working so a trip hazard getting into the room.
Complained to manager who agreed to move us to another room for the two nights we booked and paid for. This room was ground floor and lighting was good. However the heating system was not explained to us so got very cold during the night. When we got up I noticed the heating vents were filthy and some were hidden behind furniture. The windowsill in the bedroom had many dead flies and the whole place needed a good clean. One of the smoke alarms seemed to be broken.
To add to our woes when I got up at 6.30 after a poor nights sleep there was a note on our door saying we couldn’t stay in that room for another night as they had booked it for someone else and we would have to move back to our original unsuitable room.
I spoke to the manager who apologised but couldn’t guarantee us another more suitable room that night. Thus I was forced to book a room at another hotel. He said the general manager would be there later that day to sort things out. After our day in the national park we returned to Cowboys Lodge to speak to him. However, he refused to refund my unused nights stay and said we would have to contact booking.com as we booked and paid through them. He did offer a free dinner but we did not want anything more to do with this hotel or its staff.
The room we were given originally was not as advertised.
There is no reception area, you have to go into the restaurant and the staff there are not welcoming, I was made to feel like an inconvenience for wanting to check into my room. No help or explanations were offered for the heating/air conditioning and it was not made clear in the booking that two elderly people would be expected to take cases up two flights of steep wooden steps to get to the room.
For the money I paid this was definitely not up to standard.
- Andrea Christel (8/5): Cute decorated big room - Very convenient. Right, downtown in Gardiner MT, the main north entrance to YNP. The room was spacious with a full kitchen. Everything was there and in good condition for one restful night. Room was decorated with lots of small and lovely details. Our room was right next to the utility room for the restaurant, with lots of foot traffic and slamming doors. Not so pleasant, if you try to sleep.
- Karen (9/5): -
- Kevin (3/5): This is an expensive rustic lodge/hotel with a restaurant as its main attraction. - The food at the restaurant was very good. The decor is Wild West themed with guns and wanted posters everywhere. They had classic country fried steak and gravy on the menu. The Wrangler suite was our assigned room for 1 night stay. The room decor was a rustic cowboy theme but the walls had rough sawn wood planks that were covered with dust and spider webs in every corner. The toilet was leaking water from the tank into the bowl and the sink drain stopper was broken. The floor tile was broken and sharp pieces were loose and separated from the grout and mastic. The maintenance person sent to "fix" the problems only said "These toilets are no good and not ADA compliant" then left the room not repairing anything.
- Svilar (10/5): -
- Hester (8/5): - The unit is well located, clean and comfortable.
- Leigh (10/5): - The staff were really attentive
The rooms were big and clean
Parking was really convenient
Very close to Yellowstone National Park
The cowboy theme was fun
Thanks guys
- cam (6/5): - I liked having a kitchen and the big tv was nice that there was no parking, no one said it was on top of a bar and you had to walk up narrow stairs. Plus you could not find the kitchen light and had to cook by my cell phone light
- Diane (9/5): - Right in the heart of Gardiner. Close to dining options. The staff was welcoming. Room was very nicely decorated.
- Ritesh (10/5): -
- MICHEAL (8/5): - The receptionist Debra was very helpful and nice. She answered all of our questions.
- Kae (10/5): -
- Victoire (6/5): Appartement sombre - Grandes chambres
- Carol (4/5): Everything poor bed you could feel the springs through, it wasn’t clean, you had to walk round the back of the kitchen t - From the outside looked nice Everything poor bed you could feel the springs through, it wasn’t clean, you had to walk round the back of the kitchen to get to it, no lighting that worked in the room, the air con was really noisy, on checking out we had to find a kitchen staff, shocking stay would not recommend at all
- ONEILL (8/5): Cool hotel with old west vibe. -
- Rybak (7/5): -
- Stephanie (10/5): Very cute and comfy - I really liked the location of the motel. It was so cute and cozy. The staff was very fun and friendly N/A
- Cindy (7/5): Very comfortable, nice kitchen, well stocked. Bed was comfortable. Cute decorations. - Difficult to check in and get door code. Couldnt figure out where to go.
- Rebecca (8/5): Nice and close to Yellowstone - Close to everything in town the location was great! We even saw elk from our room window, and live music playing downstairs was nice Dark room, and the stairs getting up to the room
- Vishal (10/5): - Instructions were very clear for me to check in as I arrived very late and everything were spectacular and so spacious and comfy. Def got a good rest and high recommend to everyone.
- Silvia (10/5): -
- Dan (10/5): We had a great time - Great location. Fully equipped. Spacious. Stores and restaurants nearby. Touching the park. We could have appreciated a washing machine to wash our clothes.
- Sue (7/5): Cute place, great location.would stay there again with lower expectations - Location, decor Dusty, no daily service, upstairs with no elevator (was not told of this and I have an injured hip)
- Avedis (8/5): We had a great stay visiting Yellowstone and walking around the town. - Breakfast was very good. Dinner was ok. Location to Yellowstone was awesome. Could use new mattress and I had trouble with tv volume
- Joseph (8/5): Great location to travel into Yellowstone National Park each day, perfect size for our family. - The size was perfect for our family of 5! I found a mouse dropping in the window sill of one of the bedrooms, and the kitchen drawers need a better cleaning between visitors' stays.
- YIRAN (8/5): Cool Cowboy Vibe right outside Yellowstone - Very cool cowboy vibe--prime location for a Yellowstone visit. The decorations and the diner are both amazing. Spacious room that has everything We stayed here on the night of the Fourth of July. Some people were launching fireworks right next to the diner patio, very close to where the customers were hanging out. It wasn't particularly safe. The fireworks noise also lasted after 1 a.m. We ended up having the windows closed, and it was quite hot inside without AC. I think this might be an idiosyncratic issue to 7/4.
- Octavio (6/5): This is not a good place to stay during hot summer months; no air condition, and no fans. - Did not partake of breakfast, but we did have dinner, and that was very good along with the service. The rooms were not air conditioned, there were no fans, and the coffee maker did not work because it needed cleaning. I believe it would be advisable to inform people that the rooms are located on the second floor. It is not easy for people in their eighties. It was difficult for members in our family to walk up and down those sixteen steps just to go to the bathroom.
- Vicki (8/5): Very nice place but not a good nights rest because of the noise - Great location for exploring Yellowstone NP The room was too noisy since it was above the bar and kitchen area
- Christopher (10/5): - Large comfortable clean room with a full kitchen. Friendly staff and a great location.
- Michael (1/5): Load noises until 1am in the morning. Utility door shook the room. - Nothing. Sounded like remodeling going on next door. Banging on the walls. Next day in Yellowstone I was exhausted, not enjoyable at all. Toilet ran all night. Very bad experience. Need a refund! The noise. Very bad experience. Utility room door downstairs shook the room every time in slammed closed, several times during the night. Toilet ran all night. Not worth the price!
- Cheryl (9/5): Loved the place!! - A very “boutique “ hotel right in the heart of Gardiner. Second floor room, no elevator, lots of steps.
- Tammy (9/5): a nice stay overall - kitchen , it was clean , little extras. We were behind the restaurant and after 10:00PM there was a lot of noise coming from the room right in front of us making a lot of noise banging, pounding and pushing things around. I could see it was a room where kitchen items are.
- Luděk (9/5): Stylové bydlení i restaurace s duchem divokého západu.
- Julianna (8/5): It was great - The room was comfortable and clean. I only stayed one night, but can see being comfortable for longer if needed. I had a good night sleep. The parking was hard to find when we arrive later in the evening.
- Pamela (4/5): Very disappointing - Temperature was high 90s, no blinds had been drawn down on windows and air conditioning was blowing but ineffective when we arrived in the late evening. At around 10.30pm it stopped working completely which made it impossible to sleep! We were given no contact details to which we could report any issues so when the bar opened the next morning we reported it to the owner who agreed to get it fixed but refused to give us any recompense for our lost night of sleep and the inadequate facilities when we first arrived. The apartment had an outdoor space which was full of empty cardboard boxes and the barbecue was dirty and had no gas canister.
- AnnMaria (6/5): Very accommodating. Gave us a room with the bedrooms were upstairs but the bathroom was down. They gave us a different - Light was shining in the bedroom from outside all night long. Right by the head of the bed. Didn’t sleep very well.
- Czibere (9/5): -
- YU-PING (7/5): - Great location if you plan to visit Yellowstone national park. The room decor was full of western vibe. The hotel isn’t well soundproofed — the noise from the bar next door went on well past 1 a.m.
- Madonna (10/5): -
- Alain (7/5): - L emplacement
La superficie
La cuisine aménagée Le manque isolation phonique. Énormément de nuisance sonore entre chaque lodge
Le manque de lumière naturelle
- Lely (9/5): Good location and comfortable - After camping for several days, the room was amazing and comfortable. The bed mattress was too soft. As a non-American, the cowboy decoration is a bit shocking.
- Andrea (7/5): -
