Guest Reviews
- graciela (10/5): - Todo perfecto
- Eric (10/5): - Excellent staff and very convenient area in Condesa. Would definitely stay again
- Vanessa (8/5): - Good hotel. Noisy in the rooms as there’s no insolation so the noise travels
- Alexander (10/5): - Great management, great rooms, great location, will definitely stay again next time in CDMX.
- Andres (10/5): - Great room!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Was ok - Nice staff and location but some of the cons: bed comfort, shower leaking, no milk/sugar for coffee and card continuously being deactivated. I also find it a bit ridiculous that they provide one card which can be used for the elevator, but the second not. Why?
- Marc (10/5): Pleasant stay - Very convenient stay for my last two days in CDMX. A little loud at night on weekends but otherwise comfortable. Would come back.
- Alma Cecilia (10/5): - Hotel comodo con todo lo que necesitas! Buena experiencia
- Stephanie (10/5): - Love the hotel and location. There were some pidgeobs making a lot of noise on the inside of the courtyard
- Graciela (10/5): - Had to make a quick two day trip to CDMX and I chose Casa Nuevo León due to its location. All I will say is I wish I could’ve stayed longer!
Staff is beyond friendly and it’s conveniently attached to one of my favorite restaurants in Condesa.
Definitely coming back for some vacations. I highly recommend!
- Asya (8/5): Would stay here again. - We had the top corner room and liked how spacious the room and bathroom felt. Great location with some street noise but it did not bother us. Wonderful terrace above and a great coffee shop in the building.
- Manuel (10/5): - Near many nice restaurants and bars
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice place, too noisy - Everything was great, but hotel is atop a night club. Our room was POUNDING until 2am. I’m pretty sure the bathroom floor is directly above the music- way, way too loud.
- ANDREINA (8/5): - everything was good from cleanness, to a lot of restaurants to pick from around the area and friendly staff. i would give it a 5 but i will admit the downstairs bar at night does have the music too loud to the point it vibrates… it can make it hard to sleep if you’re a light sleeper. music doesn’t go off till 2 am.
we let the staff know if there’s anyway they can lower it after midnight but was told that they’ve received complaints before and told the owner about it but owner doesn’t seem to care much about the guests’ feedback in regards of the loud music so that was upsetting.
- Michael (10/5): - The location is excellent and easy for walking to good restaurants, bars and various other conveniences. My room was spotless and well appointed. As a person who has traveled a good amount, the most exceptional aspect of La Casa Nuevo León are the Staff all of whom were patient, gracious, very helpful and always quick with a smile.
- Lenore (10/5): - Very convenient and clean. Friendly staff. Not fancy but perfect for us.
- Erica (10/5): - Fantastic staff, location and rooms
- JESSICA (8/5): - Super nice suite with bath tub. A bit noise with no proof noise windows. Beautiful classic building in trendy Condesa
- Jill (10/5): Cute & friendly hotel - We had a large group traveling together for a wedding, and this was the perfect place for our trip. We enjoyed the central location, rooftop for gathering, café below, and most of all the incredible and friendly staff! It was great value and had a fun energy.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Location! - The staff was excellent at helping me in the early morning cancel a hotair ballon ride.
The rooms could use sprucing up...
Great location but either a/c or a ceiling fan would have been good.
- Lesli (8/5): - Liked: the room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The shower was excellent and nice toiletries were provided. Our room, #25, was in the back which is good because it's away from Calle Nuevo Leon and the bar downstairs.
Did not like: Very small window in this room which didn't provide much airflow. The weather was very hot during our trip and the room was stuffy. The staff gave us a fan, which helped.
- Christopher (10/5): - Omar was amazing, and so responsive. He helped us to get reservations, arrange transportation, laundry, etc. we loved our room and the amazing bath. It was a little noisy but we expected that, as we were right off a major street.
- jill (2/5): - SMELL! Room smelled like an animal had died in my bed. The staff acknowledged that it smelled awful but did not seem to care to help or fix the issue. No resolution was offered. I had to sleep on a friend’s couch it was that unbearable. Criminal for them to knowingly sell rooms that smell that disgusting and not offer any help. Oh and it’s so loud you may as well be at the bar. Avoid at all costs. Worst hotel experience ever.
- David (10/5): - Fantastic little boutique hotel full of character and charm.
- paul (8/5): - great location with all conveniences. very clean. someone always present. Perfect for short stay. Only negative is bar next door which is quite noisy on fri and sat nights.
- Kendall (10/5): - Awesome place and awesome people. The style and details were unique and thoughtful. I especially liked the ceramic cups and ceramic water jug. *** That being said, ask for a room that isn’t on top of the loud bar. We were able to sleep through it. Not sure everyone could.
- Yamini (8/5): - Overall recommend this any place to anyone visiting CDMX for there first time. Cleanliness, Staff, and Location were all winning factors for this place. Only concern I had was that with no air conditioning, there was not air circulation in the room and room felt very muggy at times. I would recommend asking for a fan of the staff and provide one. Another concern I had was with very loud music at night from the bar next door. At times it was very hard to sleep, so definitely not a place for light sleepers. But either then those two issues, the place is great and recommend staying here!
- David (10/5): Charming with excellent service! - Delightful hotel with lots of charm and character. A bit noisy but we are heavy sleepers.
- Celine (10/5): - Beautiful renovated hotel with awesome rooftop terrace, double shower, amenities in large refillable glass bottles instead of plastic. Queen size bed with comfortable bedding. There was no AC in the room but we opened windows and slept fine. Love the connected restaurant/coffee shop downstairs. There were still having renovations for what looked like a kitchen. The staff was very nice. I needed to print forms for my flight and they were very helpful. This hotel is going on my bookmark list for my next trip. And it's across the street from an amazing bookstore/cafe on walkable tree-lined streets
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Thoughtfulness goes into the rooms here.
- Andrey (8/5): Comfort in Mexico City - Perfect location and friendly staff !
- Cecilia Alejandra (10/5): Amazing service! - They allowed us to do an early check in since we had an early flight, and while they were checking if this was possible, they offered to hold out bags until the room was ready so we could explore the area until check in as a plan B.
Beds were comfy and the general ambiance was stylish. There’s a beautiful coffee shop downstairs and a lively bar connected to the hotel as well.
- John-Michael (8/5): - More like a hostel than hotel, but had a nice aesthetic and friendly staff.
- Jigar (10/5): Excellent room + location! - We had a lovely time at this hotel, the staff was super friendly and upgraded us to the master suite! The bed was firm and super comfortable. Bathroom was large and spacious, just lacked body soap and a hair dryer. The location was perfect, easy to walk to Roma Norte and La Condesa. I'm really glad we stayed here.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Solid place. Beds are nice and clean rooms. Nothing to fancy. No a/c but a fan provided.
- deb (8/5): - They should put new tile in the bathrooms and it could be a 4 star hotel....great staff!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No air conditioning regulator in the room. No window in the bedroom. And very noisy.
- Herman (2/5): Greatly disappointment - The hotel seems that is near to closing, a week prior my arrival I tried to get in class tact with them via phone, email, Facebook and they never answered.
The rooftop is completely abandoned and in general very disappointing.
The bed are by far the most uncomfortable bed I have sleep on.
So I will suggest to travellers to look for alternatives in the area.
- Joshua (2/5): - Hotels.com did a poor job stating the types of rooms offered. And Hotels.com made it very hard to recieve an invoice (Factura) for the stay. I will never use Hotels.com again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff, clean room, overall great hospitality.
- Massimo (2/5): Definitely the worst experience! - We arrived and in front of the entrance of the building there was a big and noisy power generator. The receptionist of very few words didn't mention gave us the keys but didn't tell us that actually the hotel was run by the generator. Internet was not working. The mattress was soaked of water from a leakage from the ceiling. We decided to have a shower to forget the bad moment and there was no running water (not even cold)!! Clearly the room was not even checked for many days before it was given to us. After reporting all this problem to the reception we managed the get them to change our room but the only room available was just in front of the noisy generator!! We asked for refund but they never replied. I can't understand how this property is still positively reviewed in Hotel.com
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The bathroom with a huge tub and dual-head shower was the selling point, for sure.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Bad wifi. Zero info at check in about our room or stay. All they communicated was asking for payment and signing. No info about how the tv worked. We Asked for additional bottled water and they didn’t have it, they said there was filtered water in the jug in the room (which no one had told us till we asked for more water) just so happened our jug was empty. Unapologetic.
- Remi (10/5): - Great modern hotel in SantaFe with moderate prices
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very cute hotel and quite clean. It was a bit hot for me since there are no fans, but I asked for one and they gave me a huge one that worked very well.
Excellent location. Tons of great coffee shops, restaurants, shops, etc within walking distance.
I would stay there again :)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is a wonderful place to stay in Mexico City. It's a small little hotel with a nice charm. Everything was very clean and the staff was friendly. I would stay here again, it's a great location and just the type of spot we needed. Our room was small, so it was perfect for just sleeping and showering. We were told that there was a free airport shuttle, so we booked it! However, it was not free, we were never told a price and once we arrived the hotel, they charged is in US dollars, which was confusing and felt misleading. We were told we would be refunded half the fee from the hotel staff, but they never followed through even when we followed up. So all in all, I recommend the hotel facilities for sleeping and showering.
- Sarah (6/5): - Staff are friendly. Know they don’t speak any English which for us was slightly challenging at times (we are trying to speak Spanish but still not very proficient). If you have a can do attitude then it’s fine.
The room was small but clean. Know there is no air conditioning and our room tended to get quite stuffy. There was also no small fridge in room etc.
Know this is a pretty basic room/bed setup in the great La Condesa neighborhood
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I initially had some issues at my check in but they took care of the problems quickly and in a professional manner . This would be my hotel of choice when I visit Mexico City next
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel Casa Nuevo Leon is a really nice hotel. It's quaint, clean, modern, and located perfectly. If you buy the package with breakfast, you'll get a voucher for a nearby cafe with a great view of the park and a traditional breakfast with juice/tea/coffee. The hotel really has all one may need when visiting Mexico City except our room was really hot because we had a room on the back of the hotel and the window wasn't suited to be opened. The front desk provided us with a fan that sufficed for our stay but the hotel should really consider either purchasing smaller fans (we used an industrial sized fan) or adding AC. The front desk was very nice and tried to help as best as they could with reserving tours and offering suggestions but as is common in Mexico City, they spoke minimal English. There was also a security guard over night which was good. Overall, super pleasant!
- GIUSEPPE (6/5): - This hotel is in an amazing area but it really is a basic hotel. Definitely a 3 star.
Pros:
- big shower and washroom
- room cleaned daily
- nice, safe area
-Netflix in the room (using your own account)
-free wifi
Cons:
- small ants in the washroom
- no AC
- no amenities
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in the Honeymoon suite and the room was spacious, clean and the staff was attentive and nice. Can't beat the location, too. Highly recommend this hotel.
- Fred (6/5): - My stay was good I didn't stay in the room that often but when I did it was present. There was no iron in the room so wasn't able to iron my close to go out.
- Chris (8/5): Great Location. Property needs to be freshened up. - Great Location! Friendly reception. The hotel has nice furniture but the bathrooms are a bit rundown. Breakfast is not included. It's a "nicer budget" accomodation. Perfectly fine. The hotel should invest a little in re grouting the showers etc because actually if it was freshened up I would highly reccomend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasently surprised. - This hotel has some nice decorator touches, comfortable beds and very friendly, helpful staff. There is a nice cafe that serves very nice breakfasts. The location is perfect and close to a Metro station.
- Elena (8/5): Convenient Stay in Condesa - Great stay at a lovely small hotel right in Condesa. The front desk staff do not speak English but try very hard to accommodate! There was a number listed for a proprietor in the room, which said to contact anytime with problems in English, but multiple attempts were unsuccessful. No breakfast, but a small breakfast cafe next door. Wifi excellent. Smart tv set up, but you need to have passwords for the different services.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location, nice rooms - no English - Great location, near nice cafes, stores, restaurants, and parks. Rooms were newly renovated, clean, and had some nice touches (coffee beans, grinder, and French press to make your own coffee). No elevator (but only three floors). Staff does not really speak any English. At night, only have security guard - not receptionist - so challenging if you need anything. Cafe downstairs is great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Simply the best! Great design and decor, great service and in the perfect location!
- Gabriel (8/5): I'll be back here once more... - This hotel is beautiful and underrated. Its design is akin to the Ace or Custom Hotel but brighter.
We found it to be wonderfully convenient for lovers of nightlife and Eurocentric living. It is surrounded by bookstores, cafes, and bike rentals.
While we wanted to experience the urban modernism of Condesa and Roma Norte, which this hotel facilitated, it is still a stone's throw away just about everything else there is to see in CDMX ( Coyoacan, Polanco, El Zocalo).
- Jonathan (4/5): going downhill - I've stayed at this hotel twice now. There was potential at one time but they aren't taking care of it. This time around we had a water leak in our bathroom from the room above. They graciously moved us to another room. Then the lights in the room wouldn't work. Despite talking with the staff repeatedly we had only our cell phones for light or we had to open the front door for light from the hallway. I asked for a lamp (plugs still worked) but they couldn't find one. The rooms here (unless you are on the front of the building) only have a tiny sliver of a window that doesn't allow for any air circulation. I asked for a fan, and the only one they had was broken. This place is in a great location and has a lot of potential but they are not taking care of it at all. I wouldn't stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great area, nice room, some frustrations. - I will first write the good things about my stay. The hotel was super cute, and in an amazing area. The staff was extremely nice and the breakfast place attached was great.
However, there were some not great incidents that took place that took away from what could have been a wonderful stay. First, I booked and pre-paid for a room with a queen bed and a double bed. However, I was given a room with just one bed. Since I was travelling with my dad, he ended up sleeping on an air mattress the whole trip. They were unable to get accommodate getting me the room I booked because it had a leak that they didn't fix in time for my stay. They also told me there is a different rate for a single room than a double, yet I still at this point have paid for a double. Secondly the power in our bathroom was out for about 24 hours. That was a little challenging. Lastly, I was told twice that I'd get some sort of refund for the room mix up however I have yet to see that. When I contact hotels.com, they have no record of this. It's been very frustrating to get the mix ups rectified.
- mark (8/5): Nice new hotel - great location - We were very pleased with our stay! Very nice, new boutique hotel in a very cool old deco building. The room was well put together, clean, spacious and very comfortable (only thing missing was a small fridge). The staff was very friendly and accommodating and they all spoke a sufficient amount of English. There is a nice cafe downstairs and many more bars and restaurants in the neighborhood. The hotel is stituated between two nice parks and the immediate neighborhood is very clean and safe.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location! Really clean and nicely decorated room.
- Lara (10/5): - We had a fantastic stay at Casa Nuevo Leon! Everyone was very friendly & helpful, the room was cozy, charming & very clean. Would definitely come back!
- Raul (10/5): In the heart of La Condesa - This was an awesome stay right in the heart of La Condesa! Walk to everything, restaurants, cafes, shopping, parks for families. All you need at your fingertips.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Funky hotel - Super comfy bed, though the room got a tad cold at night so thankful for all its layers. Didn't find out till last day there was a roof terrace, didn't get a chance to check it out. Free breakfast was good and welcome each morning. Lots of cool art on the walls and decorated beautifully.
- anayenssi (8/5): Convenient and modern but Cold and noisy - I love the location, its right in the heart of Condesa area, 15 min away from downtown and 10 min away from Colonia Roma, which are a most visit if you are on vacations in Mexico City, the decoration is great in a modern Mexican style.
BUT The room was FREEZING all the time, they dont have AC or carpet so we were scared of getting sick from the cold, also you can hear EVERYTHING that happens outside the room, even the conversations they had at the lobby 1 floor below. Also they dont have TV at the rooms...
- Cassandra (10/5): Would definitely go back! - We had an AMAZING stay at Nuevo Leon! The staff was very helpful! There is a restaurant/coffee shop on the first floor and they offer free breakfast (which was excellent, they make their own pastries every morning). The place reminded us of a boutique hotel; it is not new, but not outdated either; the design of the hotel and room is great and it was clean. The location is perfect for restaurants and bars, very safe and it is easy access from any other parts of the city. I will definitely stay at Nuevo Leon again on my next trip to Mexico City!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great option to stay in Condesa - The hotel offers, clean, tastefully decorated rooms at an affordable price.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was really good if you are planning to spend sometime in the condesa-roma area.
- Matthew (8/5): Nice Hotel if you're not a light sleeper. - This hotel has only been open since 1st Quarter, 2015. The place is very clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. My room was simple, but the furniture looked good and the bed was comfortable. It had a nice TV with Apple TV; good plus! The shower was always hot and good water pressure. Unfortunately, the hotel is on a very busy street, Nuevo Leon, and it is loud all night long. Mostly because of police cars insisting on turning their sirens on for no apparent reason. There was free wifi in the lobby and rooms. This hotel is still working out the system.
FYI, at this moment there is no sign on the outside of the building. It's also hard to find the front door!
- Aline N (10/5): Great location, unique, had good stay! - The Hotel Nuevo Leon is not a regular, chain hotel. It is a lovely, unique hotel that has traditional tiles in the room and a special feel to it. Since its function as a hotel is on the newer side, there are some things they are still working on (setting up a little cafe/restaurant, etc). But the location is spectacular! Very close to many things to do and see, and the environment in that neighborhood is great! Almost a little european. Highly recommend, particularly for those travelers that are not looking for the chain hotel. And check out their suites, amazing!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice and well located new hotel improving - The hotel it´s very nice and well located. Walk distance for bars, restaurants and nice parks to chill. In the hotel there´s a bar and a coffee shop. The deco it´s nice and modern. It´s a good choice. As the hotel it´s kind of new, there´s some things that could been better, like the wifi that doesnt work in the room and theres was not front desk 24/7, but I am sure will get better and I would give it second chance. So just ask for this details if are important for you, they might tell you that are fixed by now, as we stayed in May.
