The receptionists were very helpful and the restaurant was incredible- the best complimentary breakfast buffet I’ve had anywhere in the world. The staff was exceptional. We interacted with Julian the most who is the definition of hospitality and Guisseppe was delightful as well. Kiki, the baby alpaca on site, is a great addition to the overall experience!

He is friendly, accommodating and goes above and beyond, welcoming everyone as if they were an old friend, but not in a fake or overly familiar way either. He must really love his job and people. Whats not to love ♥️🙏 I didnt like booking changing the price . I booked at a good deal 330 for three nights i paniked and cancelled it .when i rebooked it you increased price to 440 i do not think its worth that and i never noticed as ive glocomber and never n9ticed increase till i arrived .

The breakfast that is included in your stay is gourmet. You can have a seat right next to the window to KiKi’s ( hotels llama ) little home . There’s beautiful wood workings & so many windows it feels like you’re outside but with the warmth of being indoors . I would highly recommend this place

The hotel’s per alpaca Kiki is an added bonus, my kids loved the story behind it as well. The breakfast staff was especially pleasant and helpful, they made sure to cater to every one of our needs, including the needs of picky kids.

La cortesía y amabilidad del personal. La verdad es que la habitación estuvo impecable, de buen gusto, todo muy limpio. La ubicación, excepcional, a pasos del mercado donde puedes encontrar todo tipo de regalos, recuerdos, comida local, etc. El desayuno muy bien y los meseros nos dieron un muy un servicio. Calidad Vs precio muy bien. Lo más tierno es la alpaca que circula en el patio, la mascota del hotel, una ternura. Que permitan fumar en el patio central que está justo frente a las habitaciones. Justo me tocó el primer piso Habitación 102 y la primera noche hubo turistas fumando en el patio. Muy desagradable despertar a las 3 am con ese olor a cigarro. Las instalaciones tienen material muy ligero, y eso provoca que todos los ruidos se escuchen a media noche; conversaciones, maletas, cualquier sonido, electrodomésticos, etc Alguien descuidó el agua caliente o pasó algo, porque tuve que llamar a recepción para pedir ayuda y activar el agua caliente, me pasó dos veces.
- academic_traveler81 (6/5): acceptable but poorly managed - First, the good things: Union Hotel is in a fairly central location near the San Pedro Market. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and Kiki the alpaca is a hoot. The staff who clean and serve in the restaurant are generally better than the front desk staff. The latter are a problem. When I checked in, I was charged 10% more than the amount stated in my confirmation email. I eventually figured out that this was a standard service charge, but it seemed like a bit of sharp practice. I was immediately presented with a detailed legal form stating that the hotel was not responsible for anything stolen from my room. I stayed at six different hotels during my two weeks in Peru, and this is not standard practice. I asked the concierge if I could sign up for the much-advertised weaving class the next morning. She dismissed me by saying that she didn't know if it was happening. Early the next morning, I returned to the front desk and asked a different employee if I could sign up for the weaving class. She said she had no record that I was staying in the hotel. I showed her my room key and my name in the hotel register; it then transpired that my name was also on the printout of guests on her desk, but she could not find it in the computer. I did eventually get to attend the weaving class, which was actually a knitting class. Some of the other advertised activities, such as the live music, were not happening when I was there. In the breakfast room, there is a large poster stating that pancakes and waffles are offered "Todos las dias." I twice tried to order a waffle and struck out each time. On one occasion, it took the servers 15 minutes to tell me that waffles would not be served that day. On the third morning, I didn't even ask. There were several small problems with my room, including peeling floorboards and a bright light outside the door that shone into the room through the transom every night and could not be blocked. The room never got entirely dark. When I was leaving to join a tour group, I asked the front desk to book me a taxi. Without asking, the concierge booked me a taxi to the airport. This caused all sorts of trouble; the taxi driver had to pull aside on the main road and have a long conversation with his dispatcher before he agreed to take me to the hotel at which I was joining my tour group. He also overcharged me, but I didn't feel like arguing about it because he had been misled by the Union Hotel staff, and it wasn't his fault. Overall, this hotel is fine for a few days, but the management is a carnival of incompetence and I certainly would not stay there again. You can find equally nice hotels in Cusco, a little simpler but with much better service, for half the price that Union charges.

The front desk staff was very friendly and willing to assist with recommendations and luggage storage. The breakfast was delicious. The breakfast staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. A plus is that there’s a rescue baby alpaca living on the premises. Kiki the baby alpaca was the cutest and is so loved.

- Simon (5/5): OK - Staff were nice and attentive. The breakfasts were good and the pet llama in the hotel was lots of fun. It is fairly close to the old towns main square and the hotel provided a free taxi from the airport. Although prices are expensive in the old town, we seemed to have paid quite a lot for very little. It was cheaper than some of the other larger hotels in the old town, and although was packaged as a boutique hotel, failed to deliver the charm you would expect. The restaurant and bar always seemed closed (well before the suggested hours), the room was cold even with a heater provided and the hotel lacked sound proofing so was not very relaxing as frequently woken up. The hotel advertised cooking classes and textile workshops which didn’t seem to be available when we were there. In general it sadly didn’t live up to expectations or as described in their pictures and promotions.

Imprevistos pode acontecer, mas a forma q o hotel conduz faz muita diferença e no meu caso achei a condução mto ruim e demorada.

La pieza para tres personas tenía solo una cama, sin cama adicional para niño y no cabía una en el espacio. Y no entendí porque se me cobró un costo adicional por el niño de 12 años si no se le puso esa cama extra. El personal del desayuno si era amable y rápido a pesar de tener pocas personas para el flujo de pasajeros tomando desayuno. Pero hacían su mejor esfuerzo. - smusti (8/5): Lovely hotel close to the main squares - The hotel is in a great location, a stone's throw from the San Pedro market. It is not too noisy at night. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard, and Kiki, the pet alpaca, is definitely a feature that perks up passersby's spirits. The breakfast is good, with an omelet and pancake/waffle station. The hotel seems to be at high occupancy, as we could only get a triple room. Even though we paid more, we couldn't upgrade to a room with a king bed. A late check-out was also not possible. I would recommend this hotel if you were able to get the room type you wanted at the time of booking, because changes are not possible or entertained.

Juan prepared a beautiful breakfast included in our stay. The beds are very comfortable and the family room a generous size for four. We enjoyed our time in this beautiful hotel.

They offer airport transfer which was a life saver because our flight was delayed an hour but the driver waited for us. It was such a weight lifted off of us after a stressful flight. We had a quadruple room and it was perfectly laid out. The breakfast was delicious. The server, Juan, was especially helpful, he gave us advice on things to do in the area and when our son started feeling the altitude he took him over to the front desk for oxygen. Overall it was a great value for the money. Kiki the alpaca was a huge hit with our daughter.

- Meghan (4/5): Rooms are loud and dirty - The baby alpaca was cute, breakfast was free The bathrooms smelled terrible, the room smelled so strongly of whatever deodorizer they were using (smelled like axe body spray). Beds were hard and the hotel was SO LOUD. The first night I was woken up every single hour by someone coming back to their room, getting up to leave or the hotel staff. Got an earplugs and a plug in fan the second night (as the thermostat also wasn’t working) which helped drown out the noise. The alpaca was cute but they keep it trapped in a tiny enclosed area with a glass window for literally half the day and the other half it’s mostly confined to its small pen.

The cookery class was at a different time to advertised in the room so we missed it. And the entertainment wasn’t on any of the 3 nights we stayed. We choice it for these extra things so disappointing.

- OdieUK (8/5): 3 nights of great stay with kiki - The union is an interesting boutique hotel close to the main centre of Cuzco. There are cafes, restaurants, shops and more all within a short walking distance (or uber at super cheap prices) We were welcomed by a happy friendly reception team, who first showed us into a small ‘snug’ room to check in with comfort. Through the main courtyard (and past kiki the resident alpaca) to our ground floor room. A good sized twin room with shower room, large walk in wardrobe with safe, tv, tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was served in an area of the courtyard, and very good it was too! The juice tho was a let down for me, but the omelettes were top notch. We personally found wifi a bit patchy. Fine in the courtyard and reception, but very weak in the bedroom. So…sit out in the courtyard for wifi…simple! The one difficult point for me personally was the one way road outside the hotel main entrance. Its a busy road, with traffic building up quickly behind any car, taxi or shuttle bus…and Peruvians love honking vehicle horns! Not easy to quickly enter or exit a vehicle - especially if you have luggage or onna walking stick. This is NOT the hotels fault, but do be aware of the problem. Would i recommend the hotel ? YES! And say hello to kiki when you visit!
- Morag (6/5): Cusco Visit - Breakfast was high quality and breakfast staff were helpful. Weaving class was a plus. Kiki, the alpaca, was very cute. We changed room during our stay as our first room had no natural light, had quite a bad smell and was behind reception which meant we heard the constant noise of reception. Our 2nd room was more comfortable but we were wakened in the mornings at 4am as tour driver's continued to peep their horns for residents to meet them. In the morning there was no hot water and in the afternoon it had to be run for some time in order to heat up. No towels left each day and had to be requested.

Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast opens at 6 am which is nice if doing excursions. Kiki the resident baby alpaca is very cute. Small detail…pillows were a bit firm. This is not a negative comment…be prepared to do stairs, no elevator.

- ariellee75 (10/5): Worth the stay - The hotel is beautiful, clean, and had very comfortable beds. The location was ideal, right next to the main Plaza. They have mainly activities guest can participate in they have Kiki the llama, my friend and I made traditional Cusco Ceviche with chef Madeel, so was so sweet and Juan translated and spoke about the history of Ceviche which was very cool. Overall great stay and would recommend visiting!

- Z1561VXmartinf (10/5): Quirky but nice - Friendly boutique hotel nicely situated to the main square. Main area nice to sit out in. Doesn't do lunch or evening meals or have a bar. But a supermarket 1 minute on your right as leaving. Breakfast was good. Juan and Giuseppe, were very attentive. Not a pancake fan , but they were very good. As was the omelette, opens at six. Leana on the front desk was wonderful, helpful to many travellers including us. Lovely to see the resident Kiki the baby Alpaca who had the run of the place. We were in the basic room which was a decent size. Could be a bit noisy as you could here other people nearby, and no fridge. Otherwise ideal.

Staff in the restaurant and front desk were very friendly. There seems to be a process/communication issue at breakfast. Each day we stayed there the breakfast buffet was empty and we had to wait a long time for it to be refilled. In addition the omelette station chef did not have enough plates so they would take the plates from the buffet section which meant no plates for those wanting to eat the buffet too. The breakfast tasted great once we got the food, but something isn’t working!

- Robert (7/5): Everything was great, especially the staff, except for housekeeping - The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The location is great, a little bit away from the Plaza Mayor, the main tourist center of Cusco, but still close enough. That meant the closest restaurants were not the tourist magnets but were mostly for the locals. Although the room was a bit "rustic," the bathroom was modern, with a large shower that had plenty of hot water. And the property's pet alpaca is a nice touch. My main complaint was with housekeeping. They did not empty the trash in my room even once during my four-night stay, This was not much of a problem in the main room, but this was definitely a problem in the bathroom where you do not put your paper in the toilet. Not emptying that bin for several days was a huge negative for me. The room definitely was a bit "rustic," in that it lacked, among other things, central heating. This is Cusco and it does not get very cold, but when it's damp, it can feel cold. The hotel solved this problem by quickly providing a space heater. (And the beds have sufficient blankets on them.)

Algumas atividades que aparecem no anúncio não acontecem nesta época do ano ou o horário é diferente do divulgado. Chegamos la a noite, com muita chuva, para chegar ao nosso quarto precisávamos passar por uma área não coberta e mal iluminada. Nosso quarto tinha algumas goteiras e chovia sobre a cama. Os funcionários foram ágeis em nos trocar de quarto. O café da manhã era gostoso mas não havia reposição de vários itens quando eles terminavam. O anúncio oferecia tranfer para o aeroporto mas, no final da estadia nos comunicaram que era só para a chegada. Após uma pequena discussão a gerente disponibilizou o transfer para a saída também.

- vincentd553 (10/5): Fabulous stay in Cusco - We had a wonderful experience at Union Hotel Cusco. The property is charming, with a pet alpaca roaming the beautiful courtyard adding to the ambiance. The rooms are spacious and spotless, and the staff is incredibly helpful. There was a wide choice of options at the breakfast buffet, including Peruvian dishes, which allowed us to experience local dishes. The location can't be beat - just a block from the huge San Pedro market. I can't recommended this hotel strongly enough!!

- 90thandKO (10/5): Great location and Kiki - Hotel has a funky vibe that is welcoming. The room had a large bed, desk, and full size bathroom with walk in shower. The bathroom had a step up which was easy enough to negotiate but might be an issue for those with limited mobility. The closet was small. The room was warm during the day but comfortable at night when the temperature dropped. Breakfast had warm and cold options. The coffee was especially delicious. The lobby had tea and water available 24/7. The hotel is well located, an easy walk to the San Pedro market and town square. My hotel has a resident alpaca, Kiki. Kiki hangs out in the courtyard and if perfectly adorable.
- Alexander (8/5): Great location with stylish and modern amenities, but sleep was impacted by noise. - The layout was super cool with an internal courtyard and cafe. It’s also less than a 5 minute walk to the San Pedro Market. The bathrooms are updated and modern, and the beds are comfortable. The hotel staff was very helpful in arranging a taxi to the airport. From 2am till the morning, there was significant conversational noise. I’m unsure whether it was other guests, staff, or a venue next door, but for an establishment meant for rest, it was disruptive. I would appreciate clearer enforcement of quiet hours.

A big highlight is Kiki the Alpaca with her Mom Veronica and teaching us all about making the wool for textiles and giving us a lesson ! Highly recommended!!!

- 947hannat (10/5): Would stay here again! - Our family of 4 (2 boys 9&12) had a wonderful trip to Cusco. I have no complaints about this hotel. A few things I would like to mention: -Late checkout is until 12pm (vs 10am) and cost $20 USD -they only serve breakfast, but it's complimentary! Some items you can find are: cereal,yogurt, watermelon, sandwiches, meat and cheese, mini Croissants. -sushi is down the ally and my family enjoyed it. -there is a coffee shop down the ally and pharmacy. -a huge market down the way open every day 6-6. -we were able to use our USA charger blocks (220). They offer adapters for a fee if you need it. -shower has hotel water 😍 -no need to buy water bottles, they offer water refill -someone here always speaks English. -access to YouTube on TVs and a TV on both levels -has a fridge and freezer (freezer is small) -Feb 9-11th weather was cold enough (CA San Diego peeps) for us to wear pants and long sleeve. A little bit of rain. Nothing extreme. Solutions: -The hostel across the ally serves food, and it's tasty and you don't have to be a guest of the hotel. Our hotel room is huge and 2 stories. Make sure if you do not want to climb stairs to mention that when you book.

The rooms are clean and modern great shower, Breakfast is very good as well We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights, we liked it so much so we decided not too look for any other hotel and so we booked for 8 more days . Big sweet attraction here is Kiki she is a cute Lama that walking around the property (just be careful Kiki not always like to be touched so she does spit , she did spit on me but I still love her )

Cama King, Tv grande, armário enorme para quem gosta de desfazer as malas, cafeteira, aquecedor, chuveiro com opções de saída de água na parede. Para muitos dias muito confortável. A Ihama que vive nas instalações para mim foi o ponto alto da experiência. Para mim o valor da tarifa desse hotel você está pagando o conforto das instalações. Localização. Achei um pouco afastado da praça principal e com nada perto para comer. Chegamos tarde de viagem, bem cansados e tivemos que pagar Uber para ir e voltar para poder comer algo. No café da manhã também sugiro deixarem o café disponível para nos servirmos pois dependendo da lotação do horário o funcionário que fica servindo não da conta de dar atenção para todos.
- Simone (3/5): Don't stay here if you want to have a clean bedroom - The entrance, it is a beautiful building and they have a resident alpaca called Kiki The room smelt due to lack of air ventilation, therefore there was mould growing in the bathroom of room 101. You can hear the people above you walking loud so slept with ear buds. The amenities are old, like the floor is coming away and then there is a random fireplace that is electric hanging on the wall. The towel was stained, and it was a generally uncomfortable stay. We paid an extra US 15 to check in 2 hours prior, I would recommend other hotels over this one, this felt like a hostel. The ladies on reception are lovely but they are understaffed, there is one person to run the whole place.

- Emily (10/5): Lovely quiet hotel in Cusco - We loved the quiet ambience of the hotel - the resident alpaca Kiki is also so cute. The cooking class and cocktail making class run by the hotel were so much fun and we really enjoyed our breakfasts there too! We also got a bottle of water in the room each day which was really appreciated. We did our laundry there too after the Inca trail trek and reception organised this to be done within a day. The shower was a bit tricky to work but once we got it going the water pressure and temperature were great!

- María José (8/5): Buen lugar pero no tan cómodo para descansar - Kiki es lo mejor! y las instalaciones son lindas, la ubicación es muy buena y el servicio del personal excelente. La cama no es muy cómoda, se puede sentir la división entre las dos camas individuales que juntaron para hacer una king. Las almohadas tampoco fueron cómodas. Tuvimos dos reservaciones, la primera noche no pudimos dormir por el ruido que se escucha y las toallas estaban percudidas. En la segunda reservación no tuvimos el problema del ruido y las toallas estuvieron bien.
- sagit (8/5): Probably not value for money - There was a free pick up from the airport that was very smooth and made the start really good. Especially as a family with kids. The hotel is cute. It’s in a good location. The reception staff speak very good English. The room we had , felt more like a motel, small and window was facing to the restaurant so not private. Not fridge in the room. Wifi keeps cutting out. Breakfast was great. Well presented and tasty. There is a false advertising that lots is happening in the hotel like cooking class, music, and in the end. There was nothing. The sign is in your face in a big A frame with times, but misleading as nothing is actually going. I am not sure why the owner of the hotel /manager wants it there. But be aware of this is the WHY you chose to come.

- Didem (6/5): Central location, very good reception staff, poor comfort - The location is very convenient, very close to the center. The courtyard is really a cosy, warm place to relax after a long day. Kiki was the cutest baby we’ve seen during our trip. The reception staff was excellent in welcoming us, checking in was very smooth and easy. They helped us a lot with organizing a taxi for a very early hour in the mornin. Also the receptionist was very kind to recommend us very good restaurants in Cuzco. Room size was good but the comfort level was low. I think it’s a bit overpriced for that room. Daylight comes in low because of the small windows, noise coming from outside and beds were not that comfortable. Bathroom size and the shower were fine. Two points I’d like to explain why I give a low rating, in addition to the poor comfort: 1- We had to leave at 05:30 AM in the morning, taxi was already organized by the reception (thank you again). But we had 3 big luggages to take from 2nd floor down to the main entrance and when we asked, “they said we have 24/7 reception, call us in the morning and we’ll send someone”. We called them around 5 AM and there was only the reception lady who cannot carry those heavy luggages. We haven’t let her do that and tried to handle ourselves. It was a big hassle, my friend injured her ankle and dropped her mobile while carrying the luggage. 2- We asked for replacing our breakfast with sandwiches and the receptionist organized it well, thank you, but the bread was at least 2 days old and the sandwich was terrible.
