Guest Reviews
- JACQUI (9/5): - Decor, junior suite bedroom was fabulous. Bar menu a little boring. Basic oub fare.

- Olivia (10/5): -
- Jenna (10/5): -
- Lama Sarah (9/5): Fab place fab location and amazing room - Room was beautiful staff were lovely perfect location
- Simon (7/5): A comfortable stay. Attention to little details, would enhance the customer experience - Breakfast was fit for purpose . I would have liked to have a salmon option The gardens and pathways could have been enhanced by sustainable weed control. The shower cubicle in room 50 was to small could have been larger. Insufficient toiletries. Shower Gel, shampoo. No body lotion was available. The rooms did not get made up for more than one night stay. Broken guttering outside room 50 , meant a continous drip during the early morning. The hotel has real potential as a 4* but needs to go that extra bit, for positive overall reviews.
- Natalie (10/5): - Lovely decor and clean
- Mafalda (6/5): Spa was great - View was incredible, and the room was so clean, the hotel is small but really good. The spa is the only reason to book and the view. staff didn’t bother to explain how things work in the check in, or when having breakfast they were not helpful at all. The food was tasteless and the breakfast only had 1 option that was English breakfast, better to book without breakfast and eat something better in town. Also is 10 minutes away from town so you need a car to do things
- JOHN (5/5): Stayed here often 30 years ago and a little disappointed with how are recent stay compared. - Staff very friendly, polite and helpful. Beautiful location. Food and breakfast were nice. Sadly, half our patio view was of a derelict building and scaffolding. If you book you need to be on the upper floors. Black mould under shower doors (not a room service job). WiFi was hopeless, had to buy data to get a 5G connection. Had to prop the side of the mattress up to stop sliding out of bed. Otherwise, fine. Oh! Stop the staff from kicking the kitchen swing doors.
- Doyle (8/5): -
- Yvonne (9/5): Beech Hotel staycation - Location and spa facilities are excellent for nature lovers Best enjoyed with a car as its far from town centre and public transport non existent. Uber available but long waiting times
- Asif (8/5): - Nice view of the lake from the room. It was a bit compact but manageable. Spa use was a welcome bonus. Quite far from Bowness and Windermere. Only taxi access, nearest bus 10 mins walk away and very poor frequency.
- Tom (9/5): Beautiful hotel with amazing and helpful staff wonderful food and facilities - The room was really good, nice comfortable beds along with a big tv for the cosy mornings A lot of stairs for someone who struggles with bad knees it was very tiring and painful at times
- Mengdan (9/5): -
- Deborah (10/5): Stunning hotel and views - We stayed in the junior suite and it was lovely, with beautiful views.
We used the spa which was very nice and ate in the restaurant which had great food, the scallops were very good!
Staff were all polite and friendly
Would definitely return Internet connection on TV was poor…staff got it to work but internet not reliable however found that it the whole area, not just the hotel, and only watched TV when in bed so no big problem
- Josh (9/5): Brilliant hotel and staff - Great views good rooms and good spa facilities Nothing really - there was a fire alarm on monday morning but it was just a test as it turned out
- Simas (7/5): If not non existent internet and shower issues this could have been 10/10 stay - To be right on the lake amazing, views amazing, location amazing, swimming pool and steam room plus jakuzzi is the only reason i would say was worth to pay money i paid. Kind and friendly staff members. There was No internet in room, messages was sent many times, no respond. And shower literally non existent, water pressure was like worse than you could get from water bottle… would be nice to have clean windows when you have views to the lake:)
- Gaynor (8/5): We did enjoy our stay. The room was really nice. However, we thought we had booked a room with a big bay window looking - Beautiful location. Good food. Comfortable. The bathroom was very small. Nowhere to hang towels. A couple of hooks behind the door would have sufficed. Also hooks on the entrance door to hang coats. We had a lovely view, but if we sat on the balcony or inside we couldn’t see the view. Higher chairs or lower balcony rail would be better.
- Seb (6/5): -
- Joyce (8/5): Lovely views very relaxing. Disappointing breakfast. - The position of the hotel is excellent with great views and plenty of parking. The bedroom had a lovely view over the lake. There are a lot of stairs if you are unable to manage stairs.
At breakfast the fact that your cooked breakfast was brought out before you had time to enjoy your starters hence it getting cold, plus the fact having to make your own tea, no tea pots eithet so if you wanted a second cup you had to get up again. Also do your own toast.
- Paula (10/5): - Beautiful room, overlooking the lake, was already informed about the renovations, which didn't affect our stay, staff were very pleasant and friendly, Megan in the spa was amazing, best treatment I've had, and very pleasant and helpful. Would love to stay again once renovations finished. Thank you Beach hill staff great service Nothing all amazing
- sarah (4/5): - The engineer reported back saying he had not slept due to noise. Food not a good selection and very over priced. Breakfast not a great choice unless you were eating later in the mornings.
- Warrick (8/5): - The spa was great The spa area
- Aaron (10/5): - How clean it was
How chilled it was
The view
The location Indoor spa area was very warm and humid but nice spa
- Mission (8/5): - The view from hotel and balcony
- Sian (7/5): - This hotel is set in beautiful grounds and very welcoming and modern. Enjoyed a beautiful meal whilst looking over the lake and stunning views.
Room was exceptional clean and very modern with a lovely view. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything in the rooms next door.
- Samuel (9/5): -
- Manvir (9/5): Lovely hotel with beautiful view and breakfast was awesome - The view in front of room Shower area was small but overall bathroom was perfect
- Lyndsay (8/5): We had a very relaxing break for my husband’s birthday we got upgraded on arrival so we were grateful for that. - The hotel is actually stunning and very original and in an ideal location, the rooms were very tidy and spacious. The hotel itself is situated right on the lake with the most picturesque views. There had been building work going on for a long time and it’s still ongoing, too many stairs to climb up from especially if you’re down on the bottom floor. I found the menu quite expensive for what it was. A simple sandwich with normal bread sets you back £12.95, I would expect a good sandwich for that and it was very basic. Signal very poor and WiFi doesn’t work so well down on ground floors.
- Andrew (8/5): - Nice modern room, good food & great pool. Less of a building site.
- Matt (10/5): -
- riley (5/5): -
- soonu (8/5): Overall great experience - Location was supreme. Staff was friendly. The room was extremely spacious Even Thor the room looked exceptionally clean, the carpeted floor had hair strands on it when we entered. The toiletries were insuffient.
- Claudia (9/5): -
- Declan (10/5): -
- Arif (8/5): -
- Osama (10/5): It was one of the best hotels i have ever stay - The view was great and it was very clean Nothin everything is okay
- Antonio João Tomé De Almeida Pedrosa (8/5): A very comfortable and welcoming stay. - We initially booked two nights, but later extended our stay by one additional night in order to visit nearby attractions, including Kendal, Keswick, and Castlerigg Stone Circle. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff for their professionalism and hospitality. A special mention goes to Morgan, whose dedication and commitment were evident from our arrival, where we received a warm welcome, through to our departure. With regard to the hi-fi system, television channels, Netflix and other applications were not available.
- Lillie (10/5): -
- Callum (10/5): Great staff, great hotel, great time -
- Andrew (8/5): -
- Chris (10/5): Exceeded expectations by a long way hence the 10 score - Loved the location, the food and the hot tub and thank you for the complimentary upgrade! Request for £50 to be taken on account?
- Kevin (8/5): Good but could have been so much better - Great view and great staff very helpful and pleasant The food quality wasn’t good breakfast meal was cold and dinner overpriced for what it was. Also our room was directly under the bar area so we heard all the heavy footsteps and chairs being dragged across the floor/our ceiling
- Raana (10/5): -
- Sohail (7/5): -
- Lynette J (10/5): - Everything Could have done with more coffee and milk.
- Jaron (10/5): Best hotel I’ve stayed at in a very longtime!!! - Everything, the staff, the room and of course the food. Nothing at all
- David (10/5): -
Also war alles gut
- Michelle (6/5): The hotel is in a beautiful location with spectacular views, this was the highlight of our stay! - Beautiful location and when renovations are completed, it will be wonderful once again. The entrance looks beautiful and there were many options to suit all at breakfast. Some of the room features and areas seemed tired. Especially in the bathroom. The shower was filling up and so had to be turned off to allow drainage before you could continue. The WiFi wasn’t great which affected service for the TV. This wasn’t really too big an issue and we really only wanted to relax with the radio channels on, but the were interruptions initially but then it was off completely. It was a particularly sunny day which was wonderful but there weren’t any windows that could be opened.
The dining room area seemed tired and the cushions needed a refresh.
- Gail (8/5): Lovely stay! - Great location Some of the spa was not available
- SG25 (3/5): - The inside of the hotel looked lovely and clean. The hotel is undergoing some renovations. We understand that this will cause some disruption, however, we were told that we had been "upgraded for free" to a room with a balcony and a beautiful view. When we got to the room, we were met with a view of scaffolding, screws etc all over the floor outside and unable to access the balcony. When we asked at reception about accessing the balcony, we were told that we couldn't due to health and safety reasons. So being upgraded was pretty pointless. All we could here was banging and drilling from the builders (understandable with renovations happening, but when we had paid for a relaxing night away, we felt the only thing for us was to find somewhere else and request a refund). This was to be our only break away as a couple this year, without our children, so we weren't willing to waste it listening to builders and looking at scaffolding instead of the lake.
- amy (8/5): worth visiting, this is a really nice spa and hotel retreat that has great staff. - we arrived with a warm welcome, our room had since booking been fitted with a hot tub that was a welcome surprise. The staff, notably a chap called Freddie who seemed to be on shift for the whole time we were there made us feel very welcome. Freddie almost single handedly ran breakfast service in a particularly busy weekend yet remained polite, professional and efficient. Due to ongoing building work to the facility we were given free access to the spa facilities which again were a welcome surprise. There were ongoing building work which at times was noisy in the morning around 8am for those that like a lie-in. The facilities were really good except out bathroom did not match the higher standard that was found in other areas of the building, some broken tiles, black mould and it just appeared tired.
- Abdulrauf (9/5): -
- Jo (9/5): Relaxing lovely stay in every way - Very attentive staff, lovely view of the lake (although current development work is a distraction).
Car parking easy. Food reasonable and fine / bar facilities good.
Spa facilities are lovely too. Rooms are a touch bijou and obviously the work means spa view of lake is blocked at moment but would still come back.
- Teymouri (9/5): -
- Lynn (10/5): Lovely hotel, great staff and throughly enjoyed our stay. - Everything. Just a lovely hotel with great staff. Nothing at all
- Richard (7/5): Nice View - The view
The room Breakfast
No where to put shower stuff
No draw space
- samboManchester (8/5): Excellent - Recently spent two nights at the Beech Hill and enjoyed every minute. Staff, professional, friendly and helpful. Room lovely and modern, very clean with it's own hot tub. Used the spa which was equally impressive. Ate in there both nights, food was excellent, plentiful and reasonably priced. Couldn't fault it.
- D9457NFdavec (2/5): Ripped off & robbed by booking.com and hotel - I booked a 3. night stay with this hotel through booking.com but a family member was taken into hospital with heart failure the day before we were due to go. We called the hotel and informed them of the situation and asked for a refund of the money and they said no because they have a no refund policy. We asked for date change to which they agreed but the price went up by another £200 which is very poor service. In circumstances like this, the hotel needs to waive this policy and have some common sense. We feel like we have been robbed and ripped off by this hotel & booking.com
- Nicole (10/5): Highly recommend - The true highlight were the staff, so very helpful and accommodating and everyone had a smile on their face and would say hello when you passed by! Big shout out to Katie who helped us with breakfast so we could make the park run in the morning, you can pre-order if 8am is too late. Michelle was super helpful and kind on check out and Morgan was a super star, helped tune the telly, polite, chatty and friendly at meal times, and made you feel very welcome. The room was comfy, the spa was gorgeous and the food was amazing too! Tea and coffee in the room was great selection of herbals teas. For a SPA hotel I would've expected some conditioner in the room - we go a 30ml shower gel, soap and Shampoo. It was also a shame our lovely view was blocked by scaffolding but that just made us want to come back again when its done so we can enjoy it all the more! 8am brekkie was a bit late for us - we are early risers but they staff were more than accommodating to work around this.
- Susan (9/5): -
- Mark Fleet (8/5): - Hot tub on the balcony, the spa was good. Bed was a little on the firm side.
- Gary (6/5): Really enjoyed Cumbria hotel is nice but not a world beater - View from our room was amazing, well situated near to Bowness, staff were pleasant and polite, very clean and tidy room.We ate twice in the bar/restaurant, fish and chips and afternnon tea both were very good Our room was below the bar/restaurant which has a wooden floor, the sound of chairs being moved or of walking sounded very load in our room. The Tv runs from the wifi which is not great so lost the in room entertainment at times. Unless requested the room was not made up, we went out our first day come back late to a unmade bed. The shower was not the best, fiddley to get the right temperature and rather like being hosed down
- Chloe (7/5): Good value - Good value for money and incredible view of the lake, it is 100% worth it to pay a little extra for a room with a view. The staff in the spa were very lovely and friendly. Breakfast was very good. The hotel is going through some refurbs so is quite messy and in some places unclean. Although the view was amazing, we didn’t sit out on the balcony because it was pretty gross and needed redoing - rotting wood, peeling paint etc. wifi didn’t work in our room and when asked the receptionist told us that it just didn’t reach to our room. The parking was a bit of a nightmare, not enough spaces and no lines so other guests just parked terribly taking up room for others. Evening food was very limited. There was lots of potential for a really nice restaurant but the menu was very basic, food we could have cooked at home ourselves.
- Cat (7/5): A good weekend away but I think I’ve picked up a bug from the spa - The location of this hotel offers fabulous views of Lake Windermere but it is ‘out of town’ requiring taxi journeys for evenings out. The spa is lovely but I was shocked at how few people shower before using the pools. The windows and shower need upgrading in the room we stayed in.
- Abbie (10/5): The best hotel spa we have stayed at - We booked the suite it is a must when staying at the hotel
Clean
Great location
Excellent helpful staff
Amazing views
Best steam room we have used in a spa
Spa was amazing can’t wait to see the outside one finished
Food was amazing Nothing
- Ciara (9/5): -
- Nicola (10/5): - Staff were excellent!
- Jeremy (7/5): - Location was good , food was good and the spa was good. The shower drain was clogged and not cleaned properly, had to clean myself mid shower to avoid water spilling everywhere. This tells me they probably didn't really clean the shower. Spa was small and busy due to refurbishment.
- SHEILLAH (6/5): - Staff friendly , place clean Rooms a biy small. Also there was no mini bar in the room. No bottled water.in the rooms. Only coffee and tea station...
- 588kimberleyt (10/5): Amazing views, spotless rooms and fantastic facilities - An absolutely gorgeous hotel! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a friendly member of staff who checked us in and explained where everything was located.
The spa facilities were immaculate, so relaxing and beautifully maintained. I was booked in for a hot stone massage, and my goodness, it was incredible! Megan was my therapist, and she was simply amazing. She was super friendly, professional, and made the whole experience even more special.
The treatment was one of the best I’ve had, and I’ll definitely be requesting Megan personally for any future bookings. Highly recommend both the hotel and spa experience!
- Ellie (10/5): 100% will be staying here again, and the photos I showed to family and friends made them want to book as well - Absolutely beautiful hotel, super clean and staff were lovely. Spa facilities are great and the views from the hotel are stunning right over the lake Nothing!
- Ashley (10/5): - It was amazing place to stay ,the spa was incredible we loved it the lobby was amazing great bar and great choices of food and drinks hot or cold ,,we will be there next year There weren't nothing I didn't like
- Gabriella (8/5): -
- Summers (8/5): - The staff were helpful and friendly. My friend and I both had Spa treatments during our stay. Megan the beautician was excellent. She was very professional, listened to clients and offered helpful tips. One of the best treatments both of us gave had facial and massage. The hotel is going through refurbishment so there was alot of building materials outside a little off putting. We had been made aware of this prior to our stay. Hopefully will visit again when refurbishment completed.
- John (9/5): - Lovely spa and pool, gorgeous location, comfy rooms and excellent food. Nothing
- Vince (9/5): - Surprised to find we not only had a balcony to our room with great views but a hot tub as well. Lots of stairs to our room which might have been a problem to some people.
- daverU3399LU (10/5): A perfect hotel to relax. - It was simply a perfect 10 on every account. It was an amazing stay in a splendid hotel. The staff from the reception to the maintenance staff were so friendly and welcoming. The young lady supervising the spa area was marvellous and so accommodating. The room with a view of the lakes was very pleasant and inviting. Very comfortable in every aspect. The amenities were great for spending quality time in the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. Never overcrowded. Pleasing atmosphere. The bar was well maintained and stocked with various alcoholic and soft beverages. The carte menu was great and enough entries to satisfy one’s tastes. The food which we ordered was cooked to our taste and liking and delicious too. All the staff were so friendly and polite which made our short stay so enjoyable. Thanks to you all for a perfect stay
- G3160WJjohnr (10/5): Had a great 4 days in May - Just come back from 4 days at Beech Hill hotel . Have stayed there before so knew what to expect. The spa being developed but what is there is v. good. Evening meals are excellent quality . Breakfast not so much. The key to our enjoyment was the view and super staff who obviously enjoyed their work - Morgan, Lauren, Freddie and Ewan ,and others - nothing too much trouble - We will be returning.
- patriciarU1051DY (10/5): Wonderful stay. - Just spent a few days at Beech Hill Hotel & Spa what a wonderful stay. The staff, accommodation, food and Lake views were excellent. The pool and Spa facilities were an added bonus, great after a day out and about. My only comment would be that people with mobility problems would have to request rooms on the level as there are a lot of stairs. We will certainly be back again.
