Guest Reviews
- Mary (6/5): -
- JillIan (9/5): - Staff was perfect, friendly and helpful. Lovely!
- Alexandra (7/5): - It was walking distance to the water and very accommodating. It had a full size fridge which was nice for food storage. The host was very friendly and welcoming I had thought I saw a garden view but we had a backside of a shed and what we thought was a gravel area. We had the curtains open and were very surprised when a car drove down.
- Erling (9/5): A clean, quiet, comfortable motel with friendly staff near the ferry terminal - Location near ferry, cleanliness, helpful staff $100 security deposit not returned until room is cleaned. Price is high.
- Duncan (9/5): Great price, large tv and kitchenette too. - Large rooms, great beds! Nothing to dislike.
- Dave (8/5): -
- Jordan (10/5): It was pleasant their super nice and cant wait to go back and actually just relax đ âșïž đ đ€ thx. - Very friendly love all my Asians peacefull and all about time and punctuality when I go back we will make sure we rent the best room and stay for 4 5 days check the island out thx again girls keep up the great work đ Parking i was trying to park but no spot its fine just early bird catches the worm so to say
Also some blinds for the rooms on second i noticed their broken on a few rooms but other then that their decent rooms everything else is good đ thx again girls
- Jeff (7/5): -
- Kim (5/5): I wouldnât stay there again. - It was convenient I had no use of the basin in the bathroom. The first night I had one tap as the other was broken, then the next night it had been disconnected and the promise of a replacement never happened. I had to clean my teeth in the kitchen sink.
There were next to no utensils in the kitchen and no kettle.
I had no clean sheets for two weeks or towels.
- Donna (8/5): -
- Rick (8/5): Good -
- Cathi (6/5): - bed was very comfortable spiders living in the shower. very cold when arriving, turned heat up then was overheating and couldnât turn heat down, no fake cream, no real TV channels, no utensils or bowls. very heavy feet up above after 9pm
- Susan (9/5): -
- Donald (8/5): Great place all in all. - Well, itâs the only place in Crofton, so itâs the best from that standpoint! No frills, but pleasant.
- Ombeline D (10/5): Nice little motel - The beds are really comfortable, and the motel is next to the ferry for Salt Spring Island!
Kitchenette was clean!
- Lorraine (8/5): Comfortable & May be back. - Large space with comfortable beds .
Well situated in the town of Crofton & near to the Saltspring ferry.
- Mahdi (10/5): -
- Nora (7/5): -
- Mike (5/5): -
- Josee (10/5): -
- Quoc (8/5): - Close to the Salt Spring Ferry
- Stacey (8/5): - If you're looking for a safe, quiet, clean place for a very reasonable rate, this is a solid choice. Nothing fancy, no AC or extras, but owners are very nice and A short jaunt to the water and Salt Spring ferry.
- Kathryn (10/5): Will definitely stay again and highly recommend to friends. - The room was spacious and very clean and comfortable.. very pleasant staff. It was perfect!
- Ethel (5/5): - The unit was quite big with comfortable beds and new bedding. The staff were helpful to bring supplies that were missing in the kitchen. It was a quiet place to stay and the location was perfect! The kitchen lacked some of the basic utensils, like knives. The kitchen could have been cleaner.
- Kwong Wo (8/5): Itâs really good value for money. I will definitely come again if I visit Vancouver Island again in the future. - The room is spacious with unexpected quantity of kitchen utensils. The $100 deposit was refunded after our stay promptly. No air conditioning but I understand it was the hottest days in the year during our stay.
- HERVE (8/5): - La situation. Et l'accueil. Il y a une cuisine mais pas de couverts, etc.
..c 'est un.peu juste en équipement.
- Colleen (4/5): Definitely not the best stay Iâve ever had but it was adequate! - The beds were really comfortable Shampoo was empty, no plug for the bath, property said it was waterfront..not! Sign has Crofton in tiny letters, Motel in huge, drove by it twice.
After paying for the room also had to pay a deposit. When I asked why her answer was âeverybody pays depositâ.
- Marilyn (6/5): - The cost of our stay far exceeded the service! There was a coffee maker with one coffee pod for the two of us - for a 3 night stay! When we asked for more we were told "we already gave you one". There was no housekeeping service so we had to make do with 1 towel each for the long weekend and the sheets were never changed. We were chastised for parking in the parking spot allotted to our room because our vehicle blocked their view of the parking lot! We had a bed for our stay - that's the only positive thing we can say.
- Deborah (4/5): - Location Not as advertised, beds were not the size Ă nd layout that was advertised, both beds were very uncomfortable. No a/c just a fan and room was hot. Bathroom and door to room needed repairs. Receptionist was very unhelpful and didn't even point out where room was or how to get to it. Was more pleasant when we were checking out and leaving. Would not stay there again.
- hardik (10/5): - Nice queit place in quiet town.
- Natasha (2/5): - Unfortunately upon our arrival we were told that our booking didnât show up in their system, even though the booking was made a week in advance. Had to urgently seek a place to stay for the night and thankfully werenât stranded on the street. Highly disappointed, but the property was lovely!
- Thane (8/5): - The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.
- Spiers (8/5): Quiet, convenient, only downside was ne AC -
- Cameron (7/5): A nice, quiet one-night stop-over. Better than we expected. - Great value for a room with two separate bedrooms. Despite the motel being right on the ferry line up road, our stay was quiet and tranquilâjust what we wanted for a one night stay. There's a lovely common / garden area with picnic tables and barbecues. The family running the motel gave us fresh fresh plums from their tree.
Nice area: Stores and pubs are easily walkable. Park the car, stroll and relax. The nearby seawall is a short but pleasant. While room was overall very clean, there were a few dark hairs on the bathroom tile (not ours). Otherwise very well kept. Kitchenette could have used more towels but we didn't bother asking because we only stayed one night. We were delayed getting to the motel because the road is the Vesuvius ferry line up area. However, the ferry line up didn't negatively affect our sleep (no loud trucks waking us up for the first sailing of the morning).
Not the motel's fault but just be aware: A lot of Crofton cafes are closed on Mondays and Tuesday. For example: One of the two pubs was closed.
- Lori (9/5): A much needed sleep on the way home. - The staff was very kind - especially as we had been delayed and arrived significantly later than expected.
- Liang (5/5): Spacious room, but the outdated facilities, poor cleanliness mean we wouldnât stay again. - The location is right by the ferry terminal, which makes it very convenient to go to Salt Spring Island and also to visit Chemainus. The room is very spacious. Big TVă The TV and fan in the room are relatively new, but the rest of the facilities are very very old. Honestly, itâs rare nowadays to see such outdated facilities, most of them with obvious repair marks. We happened to visit during hot weatherâone room was fairly well-ventilated, but the other was very stuffy. Overall, the room facilities are old, the floor was quite dirty, and we probably wonât come back again.
- Karen (8/5): - We had 2 rooms booked and both were incredibly clean and comfortable, with nice amenities in the room. Both seemed very recently upgraded, including the bathrooms.
- Ashley (5/5): - Only two coffees one washcloth one hand towel and two bath towel for two people in three days
- Andreas (7/5): -
- Sherry (9/5): -
- Kathleen (7/5): -
- Tatiana (8/5): - My family stayed for a few days in a two-room unit with kitchen. The rooms were clean. We haven't seen much of the host, but they were responsive to our requests to provide additional utensils. Good atmosphere. Nice sea boardwalk near the hotel with a good chance to see harbour seals and otters. Convinient location, not far ftom Victoria and Nanaimo.
- james (6/5): - Coffe makerdishes and fridge n stove
- Jobanpreet (2/5): - Horrible experience. Do not book this hotel. There are insects and bugs everywhere. We found it on bed and bathroom just when we entered the room. They refused to refund the fees.
- Asiya (8/5): Great staff, peaceful and quiet motel. BEWARE of bus service labour strike and prepare for transport - The staff was great and super friendly, despite of my many questions, they were always very helpful. Mun Chan was really nice too bad he is going to be leaving Crofton to live in Vancouver for working purpose. On my last day of the trip, going back to Nanaimo my uber cancelled on me and the owner of the motel was very very kind to give me a ride to the next town Duncan. She listened to me and understood my dilemma and was really kind to drive me, only because she was on her way to Duncan anyway. The motel itself was peaceful and quiet to stay in. I had no issue with noises. The location is pretty deserted. Currently there is a labour strike from the bus service ongoing, only in the area of Crofton hence no buses are running, the only option is expensive uber which doesnt really show up if booked from Crofton, it will get cancelled as the area is so deserted. Buses only are working in the next nearby area of Duncan.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Closeness to ferry and walkability to dining and downtown amenities. Comfortable, spacious room.
- Taylor (10/5): - Older location - but suuuper cute and cozy. Definitely enjoyed our stay. Nothing super fancy but it was great for the week!
- Brandon (2/5): Worst Hotel we have stayed at for sure - Upon arrival which was 20 mins before actual check in time the Manager said you will be charged $30 additional as your early. We decided to go to the beach and wait until it was 3:00pm. When we got in the room there was patches of unfinished drywall in the ceiling, the coffee maker didnât work, the tv remote wouldnât work either. I brought this up to the Manager and he said he didnât know about the coffee maker and didnât write the note that was on it so try it anyways. He then exchanged the tv remote for a different one but that didnât work with the tv either. Later when we returned to the hotel that night my partner used the washroom and she said the floor was crawling with Silver fish everywhere.
The next day when we were leaving I had a talk with the Manager and mentioned the dirtiness and silver fish on the floor and he said he had no idea what I was talking about.
Further to this horrible stay I put down a $100 security deposit which the Manager told me that I would receive the refund in a few hrs. The Manager reached out to me and said itâs not working, so I had to drive back down from Lake Cowichan to try my card in his machine as he had asked me if I could send him an e-transfer and he will send $100 CAD back to me. Like really Iâm not stupid and canât believe you even suggested this. Honestly with the condition and the way this place is managed we will never stay there again. It was gross on so many levels and itâs definitely not worth $200 a night.
- Manpreet (6/5): - Bed was dancing. Complained to staff and owner appeared very soon. She told we canât provide any other room instead told can refund and we can leave. It was 9 pm already and travelled 80 km from Victoria.
- Amber (10/5): -
- Lee (1/5): Iâm not recommend this motel. Do not go - Horrible service. Entrance door knob was broken.. No shampoo, no hair dryer, broken window muskier net broken. Cheap Mattress..
- Brian (8/5): - Property was good for the money - Spartan but clean, neat, reasonably maintained and quiet.
- Gloria (10/5): - Close to the water, and an easy stroll to food options, beautiful town
- Abdullah (8/5): - Bed sheets and pillows were uncomfortable
- Katie Rae (2/5): - I took photos but our room was extremely dirty. There was an old pimple patch in our bathtub, the toilet had no been cleaned, the room had a stench of cat pee/litter and flies in it, the wall has some sort of waxy residue splattered across it. It was absolutely disgusting. The room my friends stayed in also had permenant marker drawing on the back of the bathroom door that was inappropriate writing. We paid top dollar as there was a concert in Seattle and we are all super disappointed.
Rent. Gammalt och ingen charm. Inget koncept med möbler eller fÀrger. Ingen frukost. Precis vid köbildning till fÀrja.
- Carrie (8/5): - Simple place amazing location, clean and comfortable great value
- Valerie (8/5): - This hotel is on the strip to the ferry so access to beach is much further away than I understood it to be.
Room was spacious and clean.
- Trina M (2/5): - Bed was good
- Tyler (4/5): - No a/c made our room very hot and uncomfortable but its expected from an older hotel and the owners do all they can to keep it afloat. Super close to Crofton ferry and in town. Might stay again
- Rosanna (2/5): Go somewhere else if you want to be comfortable - They do not have air conditioning and it was hot as hell. We had to ask for a fan - and that just moved hot air around. The first room they gave us had no internet and no working TV. The room was jammed with big furniture so little room to move around in. They moved us upstairs to another room. The place is falling apart - there was no screen in the only big window in the room - so handyman brought in a screen that did not fit the window and had spaces around it when he "jammed it in" so flies entered the room. There was no soap in the bathroom. There were only 2 pillows on the bed and a third throw pillow in the closet. There was a Keurig machine with no coffee pods, no creamer, no sugar. Everything is old and ramshackle. Its cheaper than other hotels - but not comfortable. They have the audacity to take a damage deposit of $100 - what arrogance - there is nothing worth stealing and damage already exists almost everywhere - there are beautiful gardens - but they need to spend time fixing the space not the garden - no one cares about the garden - did not see 1 guest in them. the living spaces are really not nice.
- Franklin (10/5): - Close to one store
- Claudette (9/5): We were very impressed and would have liked to stay longer - This is like home away from home. Quiet, spacious and great for two couples travelling.
Excess is immediately off the ferry at Crofton.
- Michelle (2/5): - Over all incredibly annoyed as they canceled our reservation on us last minute! Not apologyic
- Debbie Russell (4/5): - There was no restaurant as advertised.
There was no jetted tub as advertised.
The the fridge, coffee table and windows was dirty.
Beds very uncomfortable.
Do not recommend.
- Steven (10/5): - Dated but it was clean, great location, great staff and a good price point. I live in the island and could have gone home but this was a perfect stay for my needs.
- Adriana (8/5): - Right by the ferry for Salspring Island. Had a kitchen, and a dining table. Clean.
- David (6/5): - It was ok
- catherine (8/5): - front desk staffer patient and helpful
- Bonnie (4/5): Very Uncomfortable - Location to the ferry.
The fellow who took us to the room was genuinely polite and friendly. Very old. The mattress was old & was on a wooden frame on the floor. Every time we moved it woke us up, sounded like it was going to fall apart.
A sign in the kitchen part informed us that we had to do the dishes or we would be charged $20.
Although it appeared clean, the fixtures were in bad shape. Nothing matched the photos on the website. I will not trust pictures again on this booking site. VERY DISAPPOINTED!
- Denis (8/5): - Staff were nice & friendly.
Older building.
Clean.
- Charlene (2/5): - Room that was booked was not available for us. Woman at check in counter would not speak English to us but spoke English to the fellow delivering something. Very poor. Kenny did, however do everything he could to make the situation right. We canceled our room and had to book something in another town.
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional - Our room was extremely clean and well stocked. The bed was excellent (great sleep). The shower was very well designed. The building is surrounded by lovely gardens. The owner was very kind - she made room for us to store our bicycles overnight in a separate locked area. I have no concerns about this property - I will stay here again
- Ged (10/5): Exceptional - n/a
- Vitaliy (2/5): - Reserved through Expedia. Confirmed the late check-in through Expedia message system, then by phone with the manager. Came to our room at 11:30 pm which we reserved and paid for. Only then to find out that they gave our room to someone else. It was on the Memorial Day weekend with IRONMAN Race in Victoria City, so every hotel was completely full. Spent 1.5 hours on the phone with no luck. Then we had to go to the middle of nowhere with my kids and wife and try to sleep in the car because of this mistake, which was completely not from our side.
- Marty (9/5): Superb -
- Archie (4/5): Disappointing - The room needed to be aired out. Windows need to be left opened
- David (8/5): Good value - Very basic motel, but bed was comfortable, it was super clean, and it met our needs for the family visit we were making. Great to have a full kitchen. Room not equipped with hair dryer/ ironing board, although they might have been available if we'd asked.
- Vance (8/5): Started with crackheads screaming at each other but after that, the stay was fine. - It was great. It got pretty warm, not having ac sucked.
- Gillian (8/5): Very good -
- Denis (4/5): Disappointing -
- Todd (7/5): Good -
- Ali (4/5): - The bed was comfortable, there was coffee geounds on the counter, a used coffee cup in the microwave.
- Todd (7/5): Good -
- Megan (5/5): Passable -
- kaleb (4/5): - Cheap beds pillows not very good
- Nancy (6/5): - Basic accommodations, full kitchen which is handy. Friendly staff. Very close to the town and amenities.
- Tony (8/5): - The only surprise was the room had a kurieg coffee machine but no coffee pods. We bought a box of pods from the local store and left two behind. gotta have coffee in the morning!
- Josh (3/5): Great for skin exfoliation - I liked the couch and that there was a stove. The metal pot and ladle allowed me to brew tea without using the plastic kettle. Also the mattress bag and metal legs to the bed indicated bed bugs would be pretty low chances. Cheap plastic kettle, the white particulate on the bedsheet (seemed like possible evidence of there being a lot of dust mites), implication that the white particulate meant the bedsheet either had not been laundered in awhile or after the last person slept there. Those last two were discovered right when I wanted to go to bed so wasn't inclined to ask for another room.
- Karambir (10/5): - It was great and the host was friendly and knowledgeable
- Richard (7/5): Good - The room could have had a small dresser to put clothes in.
- Anton (8/5): Very good -
- Rupert (10/5): - Able to store bicycles inside room. Room quiet and comfortable. Microwave and fridge handy. Soap dispensers in washroom.
- Stephanie (6/5): - The room was dirty, the service at reception wasn't great, and there was no A/C, so the stay was very hot. The location was convenient though, very close to the Salt Spring ferry.
- Carolyn (9/5): Superb - Clean and good location to everything in town.
- Lauren (10/5): - The room was homely and cozy with a beautiful shower and a nice tv living room setup.
- Carrie (9/5): Great stay - except for the party next door. - Staff was very friendly. It so happened that a neighbour had a huge party and was blasting music till late - we were in dire need of a peaceful night. It was not the fault of the hotel, usually never happens, it was just unfortunate timing for us.
- Adam (8/5): Not what I asked for. - Room was clean with reasonable facilities. I booked a ground floor room, but had to have a second floor one.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (7/5): Good - Spacious room, full kitchen facilities. The manager tried to give me a single room even though I had booked a double. The building is old but for 1 night it's fine. Only 2 pubs in town, otherwise you have to drive 15mins to det to another town.
