Guest Reviews
- Sarah (10/5): - Lovely stay! Affordable and convenient. AC unit was a bit loud though trying to sleep.
- Jose (6/5): - It’s okay
- Dinorah (4/5): - Facilities are very old, no rod for the toilet paper, tv wasn’t working, mold on the bath floor, peeling couch, and worse one of the bed you can feel the springs. I understand it was pricy because the season (7/4) but never again at their hotel
- Garrett (4/5): - Booked hotel, added $30 worth of fee’s per night once I got to the property. Bathroom had black mold EVERYWHERE.
- Karla (6/5): - Bed sheets were dirty, like the bed was just done with out placing new sheets or cleaning it. Found hair in both beds.
- sarah Jane (8/5): - I love the flamingo! The room with this spa tub is my favorite favorite. It’s so nice to come back to my room and enjoy relaxing any big bubble bath! The only reason I did not give this property five stars across the board was because they are in the process of cleaning things up and remodeling. I’m sure it’s gonna be beautiful! It’s one of the older places in South Padre, and being a native Texan and Spending a lot of time in the valley with my grandparents who are winter Texans this place always brings me back to the best childhood memories!
- Luis (2/5): - Worst hotel ever! Charged my credit card without authorization. Wouldn’t stay for free ever again.
- Velma (10/5): - Clean
- Juan (6/5): - OK
- Velma (10/5): - Clean
- Patty (2/5): - Everything
- Patty (2/5): - Bed bugs and they are so nasty and filthy. No ice machine and there nasty
- Patty (10/5): - I loved it
- Sergio (2/5): - I believe my phone was hacked while i stayed in the hotel. Very sketchy
- Lorenzo (10/5): - great
- MELINDA (8/5): Maybe and maybe not. - The stay was ok,
- Gary (6/5): - It's an average place to stay. Nothing horrible and nothing exceptional. Worth the price. Front office staff were really friendly. I was a little spooked by some of the bad reviews but I didn't have that experience.
- Gilberto (8/5): - Like
- Aaron (2/5): Dirty / Sticky / Hairy - We had a horrible experience, our room was so dirty, hair was everywhere bathroom and grooming area. Dead roches and our room felt so muggy / sticky. Our shower had 2 cracks on the floor so you could easily cut open your feet. Had to be careful how you stepped around. For sure we'll never stay there again, hate to say it but true.
- William (10/5): - convenient location, strong hot water for shower, the bare essentials are good
- Dwight (4/5): - Cheap, very cheap (get what you pay for). Property is in disrepair/worn. The rooms looked clean but with minutes we saw roaches running around. Water pressure in shower was very good. Not sure I would stay here again.
- Kelly (6/5): - They state free breakfast and they don’t have it
Also no mention that there is a change for pets 25.00 a night I saw a couple German cockroaches also
- Vanessa (2/5): - Horrible check-in, unreasonable deposits, place is old, run down.
- Briana (2/5): - They threaten you with charges for everything. We booked a Jacuzzi room and were not able to even use it. Absolutely rid
- Santiago (10/5): - Great location
- Jose Magallan (10/5): - staff members were very friendly and helpful
- Jose Magallan (10/5): - Your staff members were very helpful and friendly
- delfino (2/5): Dont recomend - This place was horrible!! The jacuzzi had a stench and was dirty hair everywhere and the stench started when the jets turned on. The carpet was nasty and sticky. The batroom door didnt close properly and the tv remote didnt work at all. The worse was the ac unit didnt cool the room and couldnt get a hold of anyone ..really bad experience
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for rates/location - The hotel is great for money, location great 1 block to beach. A grocery store is 6 streets down. Restaurants, nightlife in walking distance, a brewery next door.
- Norman (6/5): - Stayed 2 nights and never recieved cleaning service.
- Cynthia (4/5): - Bed was good and room was clean. Faucet leaked, no cold water at sink, no hot water in shower early in the morning, fridge door wouldn’t open all the way. Stayed there last year and it was great but this year wasn’t so good!! Won’t go there again!!!!!!
- Emily (6/5): - Room was okay but very outdated and old. The only problem I had was people coming back all hours of the night being very loud and the place felt unsafe. Definitely gives the “ my car will get broken into vibes”. Could use better locks on the doors.
- Elpidio (4/5): - Room smelled horrible! Then the restroom had a huge hole in the shower so had to change rooms. The next room was ok but still not good. Hairs everywhere on the bed, sink, and pillows. And to top it all off stains that looked like blood on two pillows. Do not recommend.
- antwane (2/5): - We had bed bugs bite in our bed and my family was attacked by them. Roaches and the smell of the room and the bed had so many stains and the sheets
- Gustavo (10/5): - Staff was friendly
- Araceli (10/5): - We loved the area and the price. The room had a little roach and flies and there were no comforters only a sheet to cover ourselves but other than that we can’t complain. We loved it anyways and would stay again if needed too.
- Daniel (10/5): - Loved how cheap and close to the beach
- Eberth (10/5): - Room carpet with sand.
- Carlos (8/5): Met Expectations - Room and amenities were a little underwhelming. Pool area is small. Staff was very friendly and rates were lower than other hotels within surrounding area. Overall, I’d stay again if only planning on using the room to sleep in. Not much else to do within hotel itself.
- Matthew (10/5): - Clean, right in the center of town. Def would stay again!
- Orlando (4/5): Extra fees for parking during stay - Fees for parking $50.00
- Samantha (2/5): - Didn’t like anything from the moment I checked in and even checked out that same day an hour later
- Andrea (8/5): - We stayed here last minute as we got into town a day early and they had availability for one night. The property is dated but was clean and the front desk attendant was great. It was right on the main drag and a convenient walk to restaurants and shopping.
- Angelica (10/5): Flamingo family stay - Room was clean and comfortable. Service was wonderfull. Will be making this place our to go place from now on.
- Mathew (10/5): - We love staying there each year. Also, the house keeping lady was so helpful and and treated us like family!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Pilot Car Motel Life - Our stay was great. We were working and the room was so close to everything we needed. The price was perfect. I guess we just got lucky.
- Amado (4/5): - The rooms were old and smelled bad it wasn’t even that cleaned
- Martin (8/5): - I like the closeness to the beach access. I did not like the shower and sink . They looked very old.
- Laura (8/5): It’s my to go place - We have stayed here many times & it’s great for us. Great location. Mattress a bit old but still comfortable. Good TV channels. We never use the pool or hot tub because its alway full & very small but that’s ok. We enjoy the beach. Great customer service.
- Monica (10/5): - Rooms are going through renovation, unfortunately I did not get one but my daughter did. Assistant manager super friendly. Love this hotel. have used it several times and will continue to. Prices are super affordable.
- Guadalupe (8/5): - It was okay nice and clean
- Paul (8/5): - The room smelled of old wet carpet. But everything else we liked
- Gerardo Gonzalo (10/5): - Muy cómodo y cerca de restaurantes y tiendas
- Jesus (8/5): - It was a great experience just the pool closed earlier than what I expected
- Tim (8/5): Good economy choice for SPI - It’s a descent low-end hotel, convenient to the beach. AC and plumbing worked fine. Towels and bedding are not top of the line but OK.
- Michelle (4/5): - I bet it that this place is old and has been on the island for some while. The receptionist “upgraded” our room to a Jacuzzi Suite. The carpet around the tile of the jacuzzi was torn and worn and dirty. All of the furniture was worn and has horrible scuff marks. The chairs for the table was torn. All for the whopping price of $309 a night!!! Crazy expensive for it to be super trashy. Never again!
- Laura (8/5): - I usually make requests for a room & they have always helped me. Front desk is very friendly. It is a older hotel but very good location.
- Matthew (10/5): - The room was super clean!
- Mary Ann (10/5): Fabulous - Front desk always friendly and helpful told about the fabulous places to eat at and fabulous places to to go to for local activities ... cleaning lady is the absolute best was also super friendly and told us the best way to get to the beach ..will definitely stay there every time I go out there!!
- Alamar (10/5): - Room with fridge, microwave and one cup coffeemaker. Room was clean and just a block from public access 11. Loved the location. Heated pool. Talia at the front desk was great as well as the housecleaning ladies. All very nice. Inn is nothing fancy but if your looking for a decent place to stay at a fair price, this is for you.
- James (6/5): A bit run down - Decent location, with good beach access right down the street. The 'hotel' (more like motel) smells a bit mildewy and the room was pretty run down, but it was clean and the staff was nice.
- Natalia (8/5): Great location - Great walking distance to beach access that jas a shower. Hotel a bit outdated but good price for location. Continental breakfast needs upgrading. It is over prices in summer but so are all the surrounding hotels
- Thomas (8/5): Beach day - The front desk workers were very friendly and helpful, giving us recommendations about where to go for the best beach access, restaurants, and other useful information about the area and the tours that were available. We arrived at 4pm but the room wasn’t ready, (they were short help I was told), which was not a big deal for us since we were going to go to the beach right away anyways, this could be problematic for some. The room was very clean, I noticed the sheets smelled fresh, which I don’t normally take note of at other places. The front door was a little Jenny looking, but locked securely. I was expecting it to be noisy, but were were surprised that we didn’t hear any neighboring rooms or outside noise. You get what you pay for most of the time, and I was pleasantly surprised by this gem.
- Donald (2/5): THE DUMP - Arrived at 3:40 pm to begin the check in process as check in time was at 4:00 pm. We entered the lobby and there was no front desk clerk. There was a sign on the counter instructing guest to call a number so we did. The Lady answered and I told her we have reservations and were there in the lobby ready to check in. She said she would be right there. About 10 minuets later, another guest came in who had no reservation but was needing a room. At 4:10 pm, 30 minuets from the time I called the number a lady came in and began to assist the guest who came in after we did. I told the front desk clerk that I was not happy with the check in process as we had waited almost an hour before we were checked in. When we went into the room, it was hot and the air conditioner was running but not cooling too well. The furniture appeared to be old used furniture, the refrigerator would not cool and had to use ice chest. There are no ice machines. We had to go back to the front desk where they keep a small freezer with small bags of ice (approx 1 lb of ice in each bag). I asked what time the continental breakfast would be served and was told they do not have continental breakfast. I showed her a copy of my reservation confirmation e-mail from Hotels.com where it stated continental breakfast for 2 was included. She stated that they no longer offer breakfast. The door to the room was missing the security door stop as well (see photo). The pool water was cloudy dirty. Could not sleep room too hot.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It is an older property, but very clean and well maintained. Staff is super friendly. The beds leave a bit to be desired.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great service. I would recommend anyone this hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything was average, parking needs to be numbered at least one car per room.I had ro park so far from my room cause people had 2 or 3 cars in ome room and took all the better spots.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The property is older. Our air conditioner did not blow cold air, ended up in a room where the water ran all over the floor out of the shower. No ice machine. Three times went to the office, and never anyone there, the door was always locked so could even get anything for breakfast. Very disappointing for the price
- Verified traveler (10/5): - They were awesome in front desk, the lady was so welcoming & greeted you nicely and let you know everything about what they have to offer in the hotel. The room was nice too clean and nice, pool was nice too! Over all everything was a 10/10
- Monica (10/5): 1st time in this hotel, will definitely book again - Rooms were cleaned, beds are comfortable and the staff was super nice, we only had 1 roll of toilet paper for a 2 day stay, a refill was requested without any problems.
- Saul (10/5): - Good place fir a weekend getaway, friendly staff and overall good service
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I never thought it was a Motel....doesn't show at expedia...the water smell, the bathroom was dirty, bad experience i didn't like it!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was clean and close to the beach. Hot tub was nice, jets didn't work too well but it was enough. I will stay again.
- Taylor (6/5): Good for price you pay - It’s a decent hotel with decent pricing compared to neighboring places. If you’re there to experience SPI for a weekend or week, then it’s a great place to stay. They keep it moderately clean but the front office staff were a bit off putting. They weren’t very helpful with requests we made to have maids come by our room. Also the walls are very thin so you hear your neighbors.
Otherwise, pleasant place to stay at and will probably look into again in the future.
- Nicole (8/5): - Short walk to the beach and places to eat and shop. Quiet stay. The ac worked amazingly and there was plenty of hot water. I paid for a jacuzzi room but the jets in the tub sucked. There wasn't really any pressure. It was the same for the hot tub at the pool. I'd probably stay again because it's in a great location but I'd get a regular room instead of paying for a jacuzzi tub that doesn't work very well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was friendly, room was spacious enough, room was clean, and parking right in front of room was available. Was a little disappointed that there wasn't an iron or ironing board in the room, but overall was a decent room for the price. Will probably stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - i liked th
- Teara (10/5): - The jacuzzi tub was awesome the room was a clean and the workers were super nice. I will definitely return to this establishment in the future !!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hot tube water was not hot and room smelled staff was extremely good
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Property was close to shopping and restaurants! It was a plus for me.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfy rooms. Love how hot the water is in the shower
- Ernest (4/5): Disappointed. - Staff was friendly, but the room was disappointing. Walls are so thin you can hear all the traffic, next door rooms on both sides, as any little move was a loud bang on the walls and the AC was loud, like the fan was about to go out. Don't think I will give this hotel another chance.
- Santiago (10/5): Relaxing - The front desk was very kind...even though we got there late she still came out with a smile to greet us...nicely located and very comfortable stay
- Adriana (8/5): Pet friendly - Loved it because they let my pet stay for $15 fee
- Laura (8/5): Gone fishing - The place was fair and clean
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great environment and friendly staff!!
- Juan (10/5): - Loved it there staff and everyone there’s we’re good
- Jessica (6/5): - They couldn’t find my reservation and check in was at 4 pm and they didn’t have my room ready till 5pm
- Carlos (10/5): - Super freindly at the front desk. Room was super clean and comfy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The rooms were clean for the most part but operation of the jacuzzi was definitely tedious. The willingness and care of their staff certainly made up for it though. Will certainly consider staying again.
- Adriana (10/5): Excellent! - The lady at the front was super sweet! We had an excellent saty. No problems at all. Walking distance to the beach and shopping area close by.
- Kristy (10/5): Great job - It was really good the people were amazing. If needed anything they were always there
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very welcoming atmosphere, quick and excellent service, was provided with the answers to any of my questions or concerns, have stayed here on previous occasion couple years ago and happy to say they continue their great services
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff, clean place and close to everything needed
- Pam (6/5): not happy - when we checked in we had reserved 2 rooms i ask the lady if one of them could be downstairs my brother had surgery both his knees and it hurt him to climb stairs she said no rooms were avaiable down stair so he climb the stairs and his knees swelled up and he was in pain all night we look and there was empty rooms down stairs all night she had a lot of attitude it was around 3 when we checked in
- Jose (10/5): good location - something remarkable is the location everything is around the corner ,beach access ,stores ,fun .ice cream ,rest..etc.. great place for the price!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked everything else except the pool area needed to be cleaner. It had a bad smell and water needed more chlorine or something.
- Florencio (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful
- Verified traveler (4/5): Poor - Old bedding, towels and furniture. Restrooms need deep cleaning and remodeling. Cockroaches, inside and out, all through out our stay. Bad continental breakfast.
- Daniel (8/5): Weekend Vacay - Had a great time
